@Elspethelf amazing news and another boy on the thread 💙🌈

Have my 20 week rescan at 11:30 as they couldn't get all the heart measurements last week so hopefully he's playing ball today 🤞🏻

Hooray @Elspethelf, I'm so pleased for you!

Just tested positive for COVID - grrrrrr. Feeling fine, but my toddler had a bit of a cough overnight, and now I'm coughing...

barneymcgroo · 20/07/2022 08:51

@arianasky 🤞for today - sure it'll be fine. X

Srx1 · 20/07/2022 09:06

@Littlegoth welcome ! @Elspethelf another boy wow!! Congratulations @arianasky good luck! @barneymcgroo oh no, I hope it's very mild and goes away quickly

Skl2021 · 20/07/2022 09:53

@Elspethelf congratulations 💙🎉 x

@arianasky good luck with your scan 🙌🤞💞 xx
@barneymcgroo hope it's not too bad ♥️ xx

arianasky · 20/07/2022 13:21

@barneymcgroo oh no! Hope you're feeling ok?

All was fine they got all the measurements for his heart after sending me back out for a walk as he was being stubborn and on his stomach again 😂 but all good 💙

Thanks all - started feeling a bit dodgy, so taken some paracetamol and will see how it goes. And having a nice 'quiet' day with the 2yo, who's also got it. Calpol seems to have perked him right up...

Elspethelf · 20/07/2022 14:12

@barneymcgroo i hope you both have a quick recovery!

Annny27 · 20/07/2022 15:57

Anyone else not bought anything? :s 26 weeks and have bought 3 sleepsuits amd that's it 🙈

sunnyd67 · 20/07/2022 16:17

@arianasky I'm glad your scan went okay 🙂
@barneymcgroo hope you aren't too unwell, how far in your pregnancy are you? I'm currently waiting for the test to turn positive as my partner's got it at the moment, and I doubt I can avoid it.
@Annny27 nope, not a single thing, 25 weeks tomorrow, I am planning to buy stuff next month, will see 😃 this baby has nothing at the moment, not even a name, trying for 5 years I would think he should have a name at least 😃

barneymcgroo · 20/07/2022 16:37

I'm 28 weeks at the moment. Fully vaccinated and still feeling dodgy, so pleased I had the vaccinations as I dread to think how bad I'd feel otherwise.

Those who've had it, how long to feel reasonable/test negative?

barneymcgroo · 20/07/2022 16:39

@arianasky Hooray, finally got him to behave!

barneymcgroo · 20/07/2022 16:53

@sunnyd67 Hope you avoid it - to be honest, I can't believe it's taken me this long... And if you do get it, fingers crossed it's mild. X

sunnyd67 · 20/07/2022 17:52

@barneymcgroo I had it a year ago, I wasn't too bad then, really bad headache and some fever, but obviously more worried now regards to the fever and the baby.

Skl2021 · 20/07/2022 18:23

@arianasky glad scan went well 🎉💙 xx
@Annny27 I have bought some baby grows vests and pack of bottles up to now 🤣 29 weeks now so I am going to start buying things! X

@barneymcgroo I had it in April when I was around 16 weeks. Felt rough for about 5 days but it was mainly tiredness. Little bit of fever. Didn't have a cough. Hope yours isn't to bad xx

@sunnyd67 no names here either 😣🤦 I had loads of girl names 🤣 xx

Srx1 · 20/07/2022 18:36

@Annny27 @sunnyd67 me neither, I'm starting to feel like I need to hurry up with my research on everything! Actually we ordered a room thermometer 😄 I'll be booking online antenatal classes these days. Anyone else? Is someone doing class based ones?
Also I was gonna ask, has anyone signed up for emma's diary or bounty? I read it's basically just a lot of junk mail and phone calls and not worth it? Is this true?

I hope covid is mild for everyone involved!

sunnyd67 · 20/07/2022 18:46

@Skl2021 we also had a lot of girls names, but not boys. We are really struggling 😅 we are bilingual household, so we want our child's name to sound good both our mother tongue and English, so it's a bit tricky 😅
@Srx1 I have done some free online baby classes (baby academy) really basic ones but I think that's what I needed to start with. I have one on Saturday about breastfeeding. I used to think I can raise a child, I know everything 😂 clearly not as I'm panicking

Arwen7 · 20/07/2022 18:47

@Annny27 22 weeks and only have a couple of baby grows!! I feel like time is going so fast now though should prob have more stuff ready!

@barneymcgroo sorry to hear you got it! It's everywhere. I had it last week. Had 24h of fever but not worried about it, I checked constantly and as soon as was going up I took Paracetamol so hardly spent any time with high temp. That was basically it. However I felt very tired for at least 4-5 more days, have had some mild cough and took me 9 days to feel completely back to normal - but overall it was manageable. Kept thinking could have been worse if I had it yesterday with 39C temps!

barneymcgroo · 20/07/2022 20:30

@Srx1 Bounty etc - load of bollocks really. They tend to come round in hospital, sounds good as they have free nappies, but only 4 or something. And then plague you with emails etc for ever.

You're perfectly within your rights to tell them to go away if they come round. I've heard some of them can be quite pushy, but they have no right to be there.

Skl2021 · 20/07/2022 20:37

@sunnyd67 we best get looking then 🤣🤦 I have a feeling I will still not have a name until he is here 🙊 then hoping it just comes to me! 🤞 X

Srx1 · 20/07/2022 21:25

@sunnyd67 same here 😆 I have a list of girl names and both me and husband struggle with boys names. We have 1 name that we don't mind and then he has 1 name that he likes but I don't like and I have 2 names that I like and he doesn't! And we went through thousands of names already. Also there are some names in my mother tongue which I like but definitely don't work in english so it's a no from my husband. It will be interesting 😬

I would love to do a classroom based antenatal class but nct ones are more than £200. So I found nhs approved ones on nowbaby..and I also booked one for breastfeeding. I have so much to learn!

@barneymcgroo yes that is what I read online about bounty etc.. that it's not worth the hassle. I was hoping it's something ok and useful as the midwife gave it to me. And I've seen you can get gift bags and discounts etc.. 😕

Hopingforarainbow27 · 21/07/2022 09:37

Hi girls. Last night when o got up to use the toilet I was getting back into bed and I had a really sharp pain in my stomach I couldn't even lift my leg to get into bed. I managed to roll myself onto the bed and the pain went away. Could it be wind? Lol or something more serious. I hate ringing epu as it gives me so much anxiety

Tofu35 · 21/07/2022 09:37

@sunnyd67 @Srx1 we've agreed a girl's name, but seems my choices of boys names are "too Irish" for my husband (they aren't, it's names like Liam or Adam). On the other hand I keep asking if he is kidding on with his choices of names, some of them sound straight out of a Victorian novel. I'm only 19 weeks, plenty of time to come to an agreement that I'm right!

arianasky · 21/07/2022 09:44

I've bought nearly everything and named my boy 🙈 the only reason I've bought so early though was to spread cost and then be able to put money into savings for maternity leave. I've got a another water infection 🙄 nauseous and crampy so it's off to the drs for me later for antibiotics 🤢 fourth infection since I got pregnant 😭

Skl2021 · 21/07/2022 10:39

@arianasky wow go you miss organized 🙌🎉 send some my way please 🤣 I just keep saying I will do it later and then it never happens 🤦 aww no your not having a good time with these water infections. Hope it clears up quickly for you ♥️ xx
