@Skl2021 that's good he has grown a bit! Is he still breech? Mine turns at every scan honestly I cant keep track haha. Breech atm I think

Mines gone from 12% at 28 to 15% at 32 so I am pleased with that :)

@Elspethelf glad they checked you out!!

@sunnyd67 how are you getting on?

Skl2021 · 02/09/2022 21:41

@Annny27 mine has turned every scan too 🙊 this week he was head down! Last week was breech so will see what Monday brings 😂 we were on 3rd centile and with that growth spurt we have gone to around 10th centile I think. Got another growth scan in a week. X

barneymcgroo · 02/09/2022 23:10

@sunnyd67 In a fit of slight terrified-how-quickly-this-is-all-going-ness, wrote a birth plan this evening...

All ready to throw out at the first sign of something going wrong, but thought I'd better have something written down!

sunnyd67 · 03/09/2022 14:33

@Annny27 I am okay, feels like ages until my midwife appointment on 13th, I hope my belly has grown and if not - I hope they will scan me this time round! Otherwise I am alright with all the pains and aches, back to work on Monday 😴😴 we are also renovating our bathroom and not looking forward to going to the toilet downstairs at night. 😂😂 How are you?

@barneymcgroo I haven't thought about my birth yet, 8 weeks to go, but I really want a water birth. What did you include in yours? Never seen a birth plan..

Hopingforarainbow27 · 03/09/2022 17:28

Hi everyone. I have had on and off cramps all day, really sore back aswell so I am barely functioning as it feels like it did with my last loss. I'm nearly 14 weeks now though, did anyone else experience this and all was ok? The midwife said it's normal which I understand but also I have had this before

barneymcgroo · 03/09/2022 21:53

@sunnyd67 I'm in Scotland, so have an app. It gives you options at various different stages of labour/birth. Not sure if you have something like that where you are, but if you google Birth plan template, I'm sure something will pop up.
I just said I'd prefer a waterbirth in the Midwife led unit, occasional monitoring, what sort of pain relief, what sort of position (was on knees for ds 2 - he FLEW out!), cord clamping etc. Obviously if all going to plan and safe for the baby - I'm not aiming for a waterbirth at any cost.

Just over 5 weeks here - eek!

Annny27 · 04/09/2022 08:17

Without sparking a controversial topic (sorry haha!)

Who will be getting the covid booster offered for pregnant women this month? I have had the 3 other vaccines whilst not pregnant and just wondering about the booster whilst pregnant

Mrs173 · 04/09/2022 09:01

Hi all!

i am not sure how these threads work if anyone can just join or if I need to find a new pregnant after loss thread 🙈 it’s been a couple of years since I posted on mumsnet!

I had a MMC in Feb 2020 found out at 11weeks and an MVA procedure. Had our beautiful rainbow daughter in Jan 2021. Couldn’t conceive for a long time (was breastfeeding though so think fertility didn’t return) then had another missed miscarriage in May 2022 - my clearblue digitals didn’t progress past 2-3 and I had no symptoms- they quickly faded. Was so so happy to find out we were pregnant again a couple of weeks ago - have taken the digitals again (I know they are a bad anxiety causing money trap! But they were also my sign to get to the EPU for last MMC) and I progressed to the 3+ on that last week but I just don’t feel pregnant again. I was getting a bit nauseous but got a cold and then that kind of completely stopped. I also needed a wee constantly which has also just stopped a few days ago. No sorry boobs at all and no other symptoms. I should be 6.5-7 weeks. Have a scan tomorrow at EPU due to history but I’m terrified of hearing the same news again. Especially as I’ve only ever had bad news at that place!

can anyone advise if they’ve had symptomless or very little easing symptoms this early and all been ok? Thanks everyone. Mumsnet helped so much with my first MMC.

if I should be posting this somewhere else instead please 🙏🏼 direct me to where!

thank you. Baby dust to all 💫

barneymcgroo · 04/09/2022 13:41

@Annny27 I think I would, but I had covid in July so I'm not sure how that works.

barneymcgroo · 04/09/2022 13:49

@Mrs173 I had fairly symptom free early pregnancies. So it is pretty common, but doesn't stop the relentless googling!

Hope someone might be along with some reassurance soon, and hope you're okay.

Sassy144 · 04/09/2022 14:20

@Hopingforarainbow27 I had cramps and dull lower back ache on and off throughout early pregnancy and they were the worst at 13/14 weeks, they were waking me at night and felt like period pains - I worried every time of course and called midwife and doctor lots, but it was just stretching/growing pains. Take paracetamol and try not to worry as hard as it is ❤️

@Annny27 I hadn't heard about the booster being offered to us but if it is I will have it. I'm due in winter and really don't want covid when I'm in the late stages.

@Mrs173 you are very welcome here and I'm really sorry to hear of your previous losses. It's hard to enjoy pregnancy after loss but congratulations and I hope all goes well 🌈❤️ I lost my symptoms around 6/7 weeks, my boobs weren't sore any more I wasn't tired or feeling sick, I was so worried. I booked a private scan because epu wouldn't see me without bleeding, and all was well. I was so relieved to see that little heart beating, and then a week or so later I had all new symptoms haha. I'm now 22 weeks and baby is kicking me in the bladder as we speak! I hope your scan goes well and you get some good news xx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 04/09/2022 14:58

@Sassy144 thank you, that's reassuring! Esp when loss is all you know! I was gearing myself up to see blood all day!

Sassy144 · 04/09/2022 19:22

@Hopingforarainbow27 I know that feeling well ❤️ I wish I could say the fear goes away but for me it has gotten better xx

Mrs173 · 05/09/2022 12:12

Just had my scan and measuring 6+1 (6+5 by my dates) but a heartbeat flickering away! 💓

barneymcgroo · 05/09/2022 12:14

@Mrs173 yay!

arianasky · 05/09/2022 13:22

Just had my 29 week consultant appointment and I've thought all the way through that I'd be having a section due to my epilepsy but apparently not! He thinks it'll be safer for me to do it vaginally. I'm happy with that but I did cry in the appointment due to shock I think 😂 I best get researching as I've only been researching about sections 😬 only thing I have group b strep has anyone on here given birth with strep b? Is it just I'll be on antibiotics?

OP posts:
Sassy144 · 05/09/2022 14:07

@arianasky that must have been a shock! I've been reading the hypnobirthing book from the positive birth company which is really good for feeling relaxed and prepared for birth. With the group b strep yes I think you'll just be on antibiotics, it's good they picked it up - I might do a private test when I'm close to my due date.

barneymcgroo · 05/09/2022 14:12

@arianasky
I second the hypnobirthing book, I also found a load of YouTube videos about it, which I might watch as revision...

If I can find a link I'll pop it here.

Arwen7 · 05/09/2022 14:12

@Mrs173 fantastic news! Xx

@arianasky oh that's going to take a while to come to terms with! You said tiredness was a trigger for your seizures? Is there a plan for you to have an early epidural or is that something you have considered?
Also if you really wanted a section after having had all the information, you can still request it.

For group B strep you will be offered IV antibiotics every 4h and at my trust we also do baby observations for 12h after they are born.

arianasky · 05/09/2022 14:13

@Sassy144 it was a shock as I completely put giving birth vaginally out of my mind, ah thank you I'll order that now. I had it at 18 weeks but I'll ask them to swab me again closer to birth to double check as I know it can come and go?

OP posts:
arianasky · 05/09/2022 14:15

@Arwen7 it is yes tiredness and extreme stress, the consultant just said an early epidural and I think they won't let me labour too long so I'm happy with those options just feel a bit overwhelmed with the change at the moment. Ah ok that makes sense thank you x

OP posts:
Arwen7 · 05/09/2022 14:22

@arianasky ah that's good. You will be in labour ward because of the epidural but can still request dimmed lights, you can bring some electric candles or fairy lights if you like that idea, lavender essential oil, listen to your own birth playlist, bring any entertainment you wish like book, Netflix (when you have a good working epidural you are just waiting and first labours can sometimes take many hours)... basically anything that will make you feel relaxed and at ease. I always encourage as much resting and sleeping as possible with epidural as the more relaxed the better your body will labour. Also make sure you have a good meal beforehand if you fancy as you won't be allowed to eat once the epidural goes in. X

arianasky · 05/09/2022 14:47

@Arwen7 ah thank you for that advice that's great to know ❤️ Im not sure if you could help with this at all? I have a water infection I think but urine was dipped and consultant is sending it off but he's not 100 percent sure if it's an infection so just said ring for results Thursday and If I need antibiotics I can have them then. Well since yesterday I've been getting light cramps on my upper thighs and lower bump and my vagina has a crampy feeling to it too I'm just wondering if it's normal like is it just stretching or? Basically I'm overthinking 🙈

OP posts:
Arwen7 · 05/09/2022 15:01

Hi @arianasky when we dip the urine and look for UTI we look for 2 things mainly nitrates which means is most certainly an infection and they would give you antibiotics there and then and leucocytes which may indicate UTI however super common to have them in normal discharge as well so can't be sure. That's when we send the sample which annoyingly takes 2-3 days for it to grow and for the results to come back.

Most doctors are not happy to give antibiotics unless there is a confirmed infection or very obvious symptoms. I would say keep an eye for fever, painful contraction-like pains especially if they radiate to your back, pain passing urine alongside urgency to go. If any of those go to Triage as an infection can go to your kidneys. If you are mainly asymptomatic it would be best to wait for the results (I would try calling on Wednesday as sometimes they take a couple of days only!)

What you describe doesn't sound like classic UTI symptoms to me but hard to say. I'm having quite a lot of stretching pains and uncomfortable depending how baby is positioned and Braxton Hicks too and I'm same 29 weeks tomorrow, hopefully it's just that xx

Srx1 · 05/09/2022 15:06

@Arwen7 oooh thanks for explaining this, I was just thinking of asking something about UTIs. I was suspecting this morning something might be going on although I don't have pain or burning when weeing, I just kinda felt a bit of warmth and tingling afterwards and now I'm overthinking it and can't tell if I feel normal🤔 I can't speak to my midwife until Wednesday and triage is a bit far and I am without a car these few days so not sure whether to call my GP or wait until Wednesday? Unless everything goes back to normal. Thanks! 😬
