I'm 28 weeks today it feels like such a milestone reaching the third trimester! I've got my GD test tomorrow which I'm dreading. I'm a heaver on the best of times and funny with drinks so not looking forward to that part, what did the drink taste like to those who've had the test? Also getting blood out of me is like a impossibility 😂 my BP is really low at the moment 84/60 so I'm hoping it doesn't make me pass out I'm a fainter 🙈 basically I'm dreading it 😂

@arianasky congratulations on getting to the third trimester 🎉 not long to go now! I had the drink and don't think it's that bad. There wasn't that much to drink and it's like a thick orangy flat lucozade. I drank it in one as I was so thirsty from not drinking from night before. I'm also a pain for bloods 🤣🤦 but everything was fine. They will also keep an eye on you while your waiting just incase u feel a bit funny just let them know. I got told to take a drink and something to eat for when it was over so I could eat straight away xx

Have been referred for a growth scan, fundal height has a slight drop from last appointment three weeks ago. I had a scan two and half weeks ago, baby was measuring bigger than my dates, what are the chances that something is not right? I also haven't gain much weight for the last three weeks, only about 1kg. I just want the scan to happen now so I know.. ☹️

Skl2021 · 30/08/2022 11:52

@sunnyd67 try not to worry to much. I hate fundal height measurements they can be totally inaccurate. Cause so much unnecessary stress. I'm sure everything wil be ok at your growth scan. X

flowergarden16 · 30/08/2022 11:59

Agree with all on here that the fundal height stuff is so unpredictable. Babies don't grow in a linear fashion.

Congrats @arianasky - I'm also now in third trimester too woo! Have 9 weeks to go as have a 37 week section due to my placenta feels like we're close now!

Welcome and congrats @TTCourfirst

sunnyd67 · 30/08/2022 12:05

Thank you! I'm aware of how inaccurate it can be but at the same time I can't stop worrying ☹️ I hope they ring soon to let me know regards to the scan, how quickly can this happen?

Annny27 · 30/08/2022 12:05

@sunnyd67 my midwife was a new one this week and measured be 1cm LESS than I had done the previous 3 weeks.

Growth scan showed perfect growth so it can just be so off! Best ot luck for scan

My weight has also been tapering in 3rd trimester. I was gaining 2 pounds a week and now its 1 or maintaining

arianasky · 30/08/2022 12:22

@Skl2021 ah that doesn't sound to bad, I know I'm dreading the hunger 😂

@flowergarden16 eee not long to go for you then, I'm having a section aswell as I have epilepsy and they don't want to me to get too tired in labour and have a seizure as extreme exhaustion is what triggers my seizures even though I've been seizure free for 3 years now. It's so exciting/nerve wracking how close we all are now 💙

Hi ladies. Sorry I just keep dropping in, I'm trying to stay off MN if I can die to anxiety. I'm just shy of 9 weeks now and had a scan a week ago with a baby measuring as it should with a heartbeat. This is the furthest I've ever got since my 3 miscarriages. But I feel like i don't have many symptoms which is worrying me. I feel ever so slightly nauseous and have sore boobs. But k feel like that might just be down to the progesterone pessaries. What were everyone's symptoms at 9 weeks?

flowergarden16 · 30/08/2022 12:27

Yes exciting and nerve wracking @arianasky

I'm hoping my c section recovery is fine like last time 🙏🏻

barneymcgroo · 30/08/2022 13:18

@chasingtherainbow1 I had no symptoms at all til about 16 weeks - seems it can go either way! X

Arwen7 · 30/08/2022 14:26

Hi ladies I'm sorry it's been a while!

@arianasky @flowergarden16 if I remember well we share almost the same EDD so I'm 28 weeks today too, how amazing!! Tbh it's gone by so so quickly lately. I hope you are feeling a bit more excited. Good thing about electives is that you have a date to look forward to and plan!

@sunnyd67 best of luck with your scan 💕As everyone else says fundal height is not that accurate so try not to worry too much! Also scans are not THAT accurate either when baby grows, in my experience especially those that predict big babies.

@chasingtherainbow1 @TTCourfirst congrats to you both! First trimester is so tough 😫 but it does get better in my own experience. I'm really enjoying my pregnancy now who would have said!
I had nausea in the evenings and fatigue at 9 weeks but everyone is different and lack of symptoms means nothing as not everyone gets them but I know how worrying it is. I personally got by during that time with regular scans.

Hope everyone else is ok! Some of you are so close to meeting baby now 🥰

chasingtherainbow1 · 30/08/2022 14:40

@barneymcgroo @Arwen7 thanks for your advice. I have another 4 weeks until my nhs scan so I might book another in between for reassurance. Hoping I'm one of the lucky ones who feel somewhat ok

Margo34 · 30/08/2022 14:42

@chasingtherainbow1 my symptoms are the same as yours except 7w here, also on progesterone. I'm also producing colostrum already on one side (BF my toddler on the other side and that's still mature milk). I suppose I'm fatigued too but that could be down to the toddler waking at night still as I'm always tired regardless so who knows.

I am currently in that limbo land where I've reached further along this time than some previous losses but also not further than my furthest along loss, if that makes sense? Anxiety is real! Congratulations on your early scan last week

chasingtherainbow1 · 30/08/2022 14:52

@Margo34 thank you ☺️ I am also feeling very tired but I'm waking about 4-5 times a night due to feeling uncomfortable so I'm not sure if that's why I'm tired! Such a minefield isn't it. Congratulations for getting to 7 weeks. Do you have any scans booked or you waiting out until 12 weeks?

barneymcgroo · 30/08/2022 15:25

Midwife appointment this morning - she was SO much more supportive of my birth preferences than the consultant. Less doom and gloom!

Think that if I labour naturally, all looking fine, I'll head to the midwife unit and hopefully a waterbirth. Not at any cost, obviously - if baby's in distress etc then the labour ward is round the corner, but will keep fingers crossed it all goes well.

Well done those getting to the third trimester - it goes so quickly!

sunnyd67 · 30/08/2022 16:12

Just had a message from midwife and the scan department have rejected the referral, what I assume is that there wasn't big enough drop for them to scan. Aaaaargh, long two weeks until my next midwife appointment ☹️

barneymcgroo · 30/08/2022 16:28

How many weeks @sunnyd67 ? Fundal height notoriously inaccurate. Mine measured below the 5th % at 28 weeks, scan the following day was bang on 50th% for dates. I'm quite tall, don't know if that makes any difference.
That said, scan yesterday says I'm on the 30th %, so back in for a growth scan in 2 weeks. Think it could easily be the difference between the two sonographers, there's a margin for error of 15ish%, so not too worried!

Skl2021 · 30/08/2022 16:45

@barneymcgroo I still haven't gone through any birth choices or plans and I haven't even seen my consultant and I have no more midwife appointments booked in as I'm at the hospital every week for scans 🤦 feeling a little lost with what's going to happen 😵 seems like I'm on a week by week check and then a decision will be made last minute 🤦 on a good note tho my growth scan went well and we have jumped a few percentiles as baby has had a growth spurt 🎉 one and a half pounds put on in 2 weeks 🙌 x

barneymcgroo · 30/08/2022 17:01

Oooh well done! I've taken my slight drop as an invitation to eat everything going, so will see how that pans out...

sunnyd67 · 30/08/2022 17:42

@barneymcgroo I'm 30+5 today.

@Skl2021 glad your baby had a growth spurt 😍🥳

Skl2021 · 30/08/2022 18:38

@barneymcgroo haha enjoy 🍕🍟🍝🥘🍦🍨🍬think it worked for me!🙊xx

@sunnyd67 thanks 💞 step in the right direction 🙌 x

Tofu35 · 30/08/2022 22:26

Small anxious moment in our house, my husband has tested positive for covid and is having to isolate. So now reading all the guidance on NHS about how to avoid/treat covid if I end up also testing positive. Trying to avoid all the non-healthcare websites!

sunnyd67 · 30/08/2022 22:41

@Tofu35 my partner also had Covid in July, somehow I managed to avoid it! I washed my hands like million times a day, he slept in the spare room, tried to avoid touching things as much as possible and if I did, washed hands straight away

Tofu35 · 30/08/2022 22:49

Thanks @sunnyd67, he's in the spare room and I'm just dropping meals off to him on paper plates so I don't have to touch any dishes he's come in contact with. He's also getting a clean pair of pants every day 😅 but trying to wear a mask at home, and washing my hands loads. I can feel the baby kicking and moving around which helps ease feeling worried!
