Great news @Skl2021 @Hopingforarainbow27 xxx

barneymcgroo · 08/08/2022 19:39

Pram wise - really really depends what you need it for. If in rural areas, I’ve got a mountain buggy and a Phil and teds sport - the latter takes two, even occasionally managed to get my older two asleep at the same time. Sadly ds2 has already given up naps. Both great, though mountain buggy is bloody huge, so I don’t take it out in the car much.
I have friends who really rated the city joggers.

Whatever you go for, make sure it can be pushed with one hand - coffee/phone/dog lead etc…

Oh, and work out what you want, and you can save a fortune by buying second hand. I found that if you work out what make you want, there’s a Facebook group for buying and selling them - or eBay. Some serious bargains to be had…

Car seats - I have a cyber sirona - it’s brilliant. Can get an infant insert for when they’re tiny, but will then do them til they’re 4ish. It spins, so when they get hefty you can pop them in and rotate the seat, rather than wrestle the toddler in awkwardly. It’s isofix only, but is honestly fab. Quite expensive, but lasts a good while. I think the Joie 360 spin does a similar job.

barneymcgroo · 08/08/2022 19:42

@Skl2021 That’s fab news, keep hanging on in there!
@Hopingforarainbow27 Hope the anxiety eases a bit - not long to wait til your next one.

@flowergarden16 thanks 💞 x

@barneymcgroo thanks 💞 can breathe for another week x

flowergarden16 · 08/08/2022 20:15

Agree with @barneymcgroo on car seats that spin. Wish I'd got one of those! We have the maxi cosi which is great but the spinning ones are so much easier to use and you can keep them rear facing for longer which I also didn't do!

Lizm1990 · 08/08/2022 21:25

@Sassy144 i thought I was feeling things too early but after reading about yours I think it’s defo movement and I got the hard spot in weird places too, today it felt like baby was jabbing or kicking on the side and it’s happening multiple times a day 😊😊 are you having a 3d or 4d scan?

sunnyd67 · 08/08/2022 23:16

@Annny27 Yes!! Those kicks are so low down, they can get quite uncomfortable at times, the baby also hiccups when head down and that pulsing sensation so low down it's also weird 😃 I am 27 weeks now, all I have been brave enough to buy is a Moses basket and a bundle of some newborn clothes, I keep looking at prams and keep thinking on that day I'll order it, the day comes and I chicken out for some reason.. I have my 28week midwife appointment tomorrow and I have told myself I will order the pram after the appointment, we shall see 😂

@Skl2021 fingers crossed your little one keeps growing 🤞🤞

Anyone who has or is experiencing leaking breasts in second trimester - is this ongoing or does it stop? I have been leaking a little since around 16/17 weeks, but for the past week I haven't, and now it worries me..

Sassy144 · 09/08/2022 05:32

@Lizm1990 yeah I wasn't sure until it started happening more, so nice to feel baby! We had a gender scan at 16 weeks and they did a bit of 4d for us, so strange but amazing! It's definitely a boy 🙈😂

Lizm1990 · 09/08/2022 07:55

@Sassy144 that’s nice I defo want one too. We are going to find out the gender on the 4th September 🤞 baby plays along 🤣🤣 we are doing a reveal I had to go on and on and on to my fella as he didn’t want to socialise with family haha anyway I’ve worn him down now to have one. So will let you know but I think it’s a boy too.

Skl2021 · 09/08/2022 09:12

@sunnyd67 thanks ♥️🤞🤞 x

speake1 · 09/08/2022 10:21

@Skl2021 @Hopingforarainbow27 Such good news! 🤍

I also got the venicci tinum 2.0 like @Skl2021 😊 I thought I was going to get the bugaboo fox 3.0 but it was just so big & cumbersome or the egg 2.0 but it can’t fold with the seat unit attached. Couldn’t for the life of me work the two new silver cross ones - reef & dune. Found this one to be super lightweight, folds compact but still feels robust with good sized wheels.

Re. Car seats I personally wouldn’t get a car seat for a newborn that you can’t take out the car, I have the joie 360 spin that my daughter went in to around age 1 (and still uses) but until that point I found having the proper infant carrier style car seat to be the best as you can transfer them inside if they’re sleeping etc. There’s no doubt that spinning is so handy but you can now get a maxi cosi isofix base that spins 360 so you get best of both worlds if you use that and the maxi cosi pebble 360 or maxi cosi coral for example. Personally I bought the doona this time as I thought that would be super handy for nursery drop off, daughters dance classes, soft play etc.

It really does all come down to personal preference & individual needs xxx

Skl2021 · 09/08/2022 11:00

@speake1 thanks ♥️ I was convinced I wanted the egg from the start but then seeing it compared to others it seemed bulky and it was double the price 🙈 I also looked at the bugaboo fox 3 but I didn't like all the buttons and seemed so complicated. Which colour venicci did u go for? X

speake1 · 09/08/2022 12:11

@Skl2021 totally agree with you. I really wanted the sabbia creamy colour but my husband put his foot down and said it wasn’t practical for a baby 🙈 So I went for the teal bay one in the end as thought that was a bit different. Loved the stylish black too! What did you go for? Xx

Skl2021 · 09/08/2022 12:17

@speake1 so I originally wanted all black then they had the sabbia on display so I quite liked that one but like you I thought it might be too light and get dirty quick. Then I waited for them to get the teal bay one in but thought it was too quirky for me 🙈 so then I did a complete 180 and went for city grey on silver frame. 🤣 Exactly not what I thought I wanted!! X

speake1 · 09/08/2022 12:33

@Skl2021 so funny how we end up doing a complete 360 and get the opposite of what we thought we wanted 😂 xx

Skl2021 · 09/08/2022 14:09

@speake1 yes it's definitely worth going to look at Them as I would never have picked that without seeing it 🙈 just hope I like it when it arrives 🙊🤞 xx

chasingtherainbow1 · 09/08/2022 18:28

Hi everyone sorry I have been quiet since asking a pregnancy question. I've been trying to stay away from MN until my scan. I'm 5w5d and the scan showed a gestational sac and yolk sac with a teeny tiny baby bit too early for a heartbeat.

Felt relieved for about 5 mins until I started panicking again that I'll never get a heartbeat. Got another scan on 23rd 🤞

Lizm1990 · 10/08/2022 19:48

@chasingtherainbow1 the wait is horrible! Not long for you now though and fingers crossed for you. I was literally counting down the days and the day of the scan was the worst for me. I had a MMC so was panicking about the heartbeat.

chasingtherainbow1 · 10/08/2022 21:29

@Lizm1990 yeah 2 of my mc have been natural at about 6 weeks but one was a mmc where we saw the heart beat at 6 and eels but it must have stopped the next day. I just want time to fast forward to knowing either way. Tempted to book a private scan in between because I think the anxiety will kill me!

sunnyd67 · 12/08/2022 15:57

How's everyone doing in this heat - again?! 🫠🫠
I am looking at bedside cribs, any recommendations? Still haven't order that pram set 🙄🙄😃

Skl2021 · 12/08/2022 18:18

@sunnyd67 I am absolutely miserable! Not sleeping and constantly by the fan. Kids are wanting to do things and I just can't 😣 mum guilt! There's so much I need to do but the heat is just wiping me out! We used the next to me cribs with mine. Might be a better version out now tho haven't checked. It was easy as the side came down so could get to baby and was same height as bed x

Margo34 · 12/08/2022 18:35

Tentatively joining, got a blazing BFP on Monday and still haven't told DH yet 🙈 2 recent back to back miscarriages and one prior to DC1, making this now pregnancy number 5, but very anxious as anyone is after pregnancy loss.

Anyone here on cyclogest progesterone pessaries?

I really rated the Chicco Next2Me for my little one in 2020.

We borrowed it from a friend who bought it second hand for £60 and it's now gone on to be borrowed by 2 others in our friendship group since.

It washes well and we each just brought a new mattress for around £30.

Skl2021 · 12/08/2022 18:50

@Margo34 did u buy an original mattress or a universal one? Mine is currently in storage but will need a new mattress at least if it's still salvageable 🙈. Congratulations on the bfp 💞🌈 xx
