Girls, so I’ve got covid 😩 I’m 4 days in now and feel like im over the worse but what’s really affecting me is congestion and sinus headaches, I’ve been taking paracetamol, but I cannot clear the congestion, it’s stopping me from sleeping and overall making me feel miserable, have you been advised you can take anything over the counter? Im trying all the usual home remedies but nothing works for longer than 5 mins and the sinus pain is really getting to me. I can cope with a fever, sickness, body aches but this, it’s the worst and im not a mouth breather 😔

@Lizm1990 I feel you! That was the worst of Covid for me too. I felt like I couldn't breathe, it was so miserable and I struggled to breathe through the mouth too. I tried sea salt spray, steams... they didn't do much. Eventually I used Otrivine nasal spray at night to sleep and put up with being miserable during the day. I did my own research and being in the second trimester I felt confident taking it. If you go to the pharmacy they will say you can't take anything that basicallly works as not significant studies done in pregnancy... hope you feel better soon.

@Arwen7 thanks lovely, I said to my fella I would trade all of the symptoms to get rid of the congestion, but today is much better so 🤞 it’s starting to fully lift, I did order some nose strips and Vicks though just incase 🤣

@Skl2021 mixed bag.... he's growing (which is fab as my bump was measuring small according to midwife) but he's a right chubber - his abdomen was 96 percentile - which might have been caused by him just eating / not having a wee / sonographer error but because it's over 95th I'm having a gestational diabetes check on Thursday. Need to lower my sugar intake whatever so he doesn't become a massive whopper of a baby. Another scan at 36 to a) check he's not too big b) check my stupid fibroid which they aren't sure is in the way of delivery c) check my placenta which for the first time they have told me is close to cervix... basically at 36 weeks need to make a plan if he needs to come out the sunroof! So basically been moved to consultant led now. How are the ribs?

@Bridgey8 did they tell you what he weighs? Some times the scans can be off so don't be too scared! Thought they might have checked u a bit sooner I'm having them every 2 weeks from Monday. Hopefully everything will resolve for you tho 🤞 I had the gtt test last week and it's very easy. I had the sugary liquid and then wait 2 hours don't know if yours is the same? I'm also consultant led and haven't even seen her yet 🤦 don't see the point in having her. Rib pain still there seems manageable through the day but starts to hurt at night and the only relief is lying down. Im having my anti d injection on Thursday so might mention it then x

@Bridgey8 What a lot to process - hope you're okay. Scary finding out anything like that, but seems a good thing that at least they've caught it and got you in with the consultant too. Much better to find out now than have big surprises in labour, I suppose? Sending hugs, x

@Bridgey8 hope you're ok. My placenta is also close to my cervix. Have a couple of scans between now (23 weeks) and delivery but sounds like a c section. My last one was emergency but totally fine x

Anyone have experience with a low placenta? The doctor didn't mention anything at the time but just looked at my notes and he's underlined the word low so I'm wondering if it's important?

Hi @Amphibian94 I have a low lying placenta

I got really worked up about it but 90% of them move (although that's more like 50:50 if you've had a previous c section)

I have a scan tomorrow to see how we are looking (I'm almost 24 weeks) and another at 32 weeks. If it hasn't moved it will be another c Section

There is a chance of bleeding in the third trimester but no one I've spoken to eg midwives doctors etc seem concerned

Had the 20 week scan today and found out it's a boy! Another boy for this thread.

Although when they were looking at the brain, the sonographer found something unexpected (they said "oh at 20 weeks I wouldn't be looking at this part of the brain but but this might need another look"). So they asked for a second opinion and then a medical opinion but I was allowed to go home and they booked me in for another scan next week.

so just need to keep positive until next Friday when we can see the wee guy again. Fingers crossed it's all okay!

Congratulations on your little boy ♥️ @Tofu35 we have been under fetal medicine for extra scans so I know its nerve wracking. Fingers crossed all is good next week :)

Thanks @Annny27, trying to hold on to the fact we were allowed to go home and that the second and third opinion the sonographer got all said i could come back next week rather than being checked immediately. Also she kept saying their new ultrasound machine was super high def so was saying how much more they could pick up in the images xx
