Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

@Mommabear20 oh! I hope they've rescheduled yours soon enough. My maternity service put out a Facebook post that they are not cancelling any appointments unless we want to. So fingers crossed that mine is going ahead.
I'm doing ok. I had a work trip to Stockholm lay week so converted it into a holiday weekend with DH joining on Friday. The day off on Monday was unexpected but will give me some time to put my feet up after the travel.
@Sdoubleyou thanks for sharing the foot exercises, will try and do them everyday!

Tape measure sounds interesting! Midwife said I was too small to measure at 25w so hopefully she'll measure tomorrow at the 28w. When you say growth scan, is that an extra ultrasound scan? Schedule wise my next scan is only at 36w (which also I hear not everyone gets one).

Jaaxe · 18/09/2022 16:50

@Slisha yeah they measure your bump with a tape measure from 28 weeks each midwife appt. If your measuring big or small or not grown since last time/ grown loads / not following a line they usually send you for an ultrasound scan x

HayleyBean · 18/09/2022 20:10

Thanks guys! Think we'll be making up lots of dinners and sticking them in the freezer then :)

Has anyone been put on iron tablets in pregnancy?

Laughingmole · 19/09/2022 19:35

@Mommabear20 i’ve been on them since last weekend, so 9 days now.
Not sure if they are helping or just making me feel nauseous again!

Mommabear20 · 19/09/2022 19:49

@Laughingmole I started them yesterday and have been feeling nauseous again too 😭 hoping my antisickness meds start to kick in as I've started on them again today because of it 😢

Laughingmole · 19/09/2022 20:30

@Mommabear20 hope the anti sickness tablets help 🤞
I did read through old threads about iron tablets and a lot of people recommended building them up gradually. IE take 1 a day for a few days, then 2 a day, then 3 a day.
I decided to start straight on 3 a day and see how I got on…. They are not tooooo bad. Trying to increase my iron through my diet too.

Jaaxe · 19/09/2022 20:46

I’ve not had my bloods done yet but had to have iron infusions in my last pregnancy so im anticipating needing iron again in some form this time too xx

Mommabear20 · 19/09/2022 20:48

@Jaaxe they've said depending on my levels after my blood at my next appointment that I might need an infusion. What exactly is it? Is it like a blood transfusion?

AG96 · 19/09/2022 20:52

I'm taking iron tablets but just one a day. My Dr said that one a day with orange juice works as well as 3 a day and has less side effects. I've got the black stools but not feeling too sick from them, fingers crossed that continues

Slisha · 19/09/2022 21:01

Thankfully I had my 28w appointment today. The whole GP practice was closed and only midwives were working.

@Jaaxey midwife measured me today and said 25cm but she couldn't login so didn't have the chart and couldn't tell if the baby is measuring fine. She said she'll figure out and let me know later.

Jaaxe · 19/09/2022 21:10

@Mommabear20 its an infusion of iron into your veins, I think it took about half hour to an hour to go in. Not a full blood transfusion.

@Slisha im sure she’ll be in touch if there’s any problems. Your chart is specific to you based on height, weight and previous babies so whatever you measure they plot on the chart and it should fall between 2 lines and then follow a pattern of growth xx

Slisha · 19/09/2022 21:13

@Jaaxe thanks for that. Fingers crossed!

Mommabear20 · 20/09/2022 15:46

Had my 28 week appointment this morning, all seems well although baby girl is still laying transverse with her back against her exit! 🤦‍♀️ and when she measured my bump, it's measuring 2-3 weeks ahead and above the 97th percentile 😂

Tofu35 · 20/09/2022 18:21

I've got my flu and covid booster tomorrow. It's great they can do them both at the same time, but expecting two heavy arms by the end of the day 😂

Orcarain · 20/09/2022 21:56

@Tofu35 I got mine in the same arm as my last covid jabs I wasn’t able to lie on my side. Was totally fine and didn’t cause massive swelling like I was expecting

Tofu35 · 21/09/2022 09:03

Haha oh good, more challenges to add to my sleep ability @Orcarain. Just in case the hip pain and getting 4am kicks in the ribs wasn't enough.

Glad you didn't get any swelling though!

Orcarain · 21/09/2022 18:14

@Tofu35 don't get me started on rib pain. If I’m static for long enough she jams her foot under my right rib cage!

All fun and games and I honestly wouldn’t ask for anything else ❤️❤️❤️

MissC07 · 21/09/2022 21:26

I've got my GD test tomorrow morning, then a growth scan and my Anti-D injection on Friday, I might as-well live at the hospital 🙈 Quite worried about the GD test tomorrow incase I pass out having the bloods taken or the drink tastes awful!

Tofu35 · 21/09/2022 22:21

Had my jabs today, flu arm is doing okay. Covid arm is now made of lead, good thing that's not my dominant arm. OH WAIT, IT IS!

Also have my 28 week check up tomorrow, getting all the midwife/pregnancy appointments out the way this week. Can't believe how much time is speeding up!

Loute02 · 22/09/2022 07:32

@Tofu35 also got my 28 week scan and midwife appointment today! So happy to see baby again 😊 what did you do to get your flu/covid jab? Did you have to book it through something or have you just been called by the hospital?

Jaaxe · 22/09/2022 07:42

Aw hope everyone’s scans go well this week! I’ve a scan just over a week off then my anti d too.
I’ve got my flu/covid jabs next weekend and I booked thru my Gp @Loute02

@MissC07 the gestational diabetes test really is ok, the drink wasn’t too bad and wasn’t loads either. Hope ur ok with the bloods, they do one before and one 2 hours later but no worse than any other blood tests! Worst bit was not eating and being bored for 2 hours as your meant to stay in the clinic during that time but not going to lie, I left and came back 2 hours later as we wernt being watched, no one was any the wiser lol.

hopefulsunshine11 · 22/09/2022 08:47

Hi all, how is everyone? I haven't really posted much but that's me at 30 weeks now. 10 weeks to go and I'm so ready to just have him. My anxiety has been flaring up and my emotions, I just want to cry all the time. Has anyone else's hormones been like this?

I've been in for reduced movements as he was quiet for a couple of days. One night he's kicking away like he's trying to escape next I only get the odd flutter throughout the day. I have no idea what is normal, they say you know your own baby but he's different levels of activity every day it just worries me when he goes really quiet 😫.

At my last scan he was breech but my bump feels different so I think he's moved but his back is to my belly.

Chanel05 · 22/09/2022 10:37

@MissC07 hope your GD test is going well! I'm at mine currently - due next bloods at 11:50. In my first pregnancy with my daughter, I lied and said I had no relatives with diabetes when actually, my mum has type 2! I slipped up this time and here I am having the test!

27 weeks today and growth scan next Thursday.

lifechanginglemoncake · 22/09/2022 10:51

Hi everyone. Had my 28 week scan yesterday at 29 weeks as I had to rearrange it twice as I've had covid the last two weeks and it took ages to test negative again!

Thankfully all was well with baby. Sitting between 25th and 50th centile on all measurements and everything looked good. Baby currently breech but time to move still.

Good luck to all having the GD test. I'm still diet controlled having been diagnosed about 10 weeks and hoping to stay diet controlled to the end.

Really feeling the third trimester now. It's hit me hard and I don't know if that's starting the third trimester or having had covid. I'm also very emotional and struggling with particularly sad things or kids crying on TV and also just feeling emotional in general. Hormones are really something!!
