Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

@JCJC84 Yes my midwife just said between those weeks but I just wanted to know if there was any extra info the best time between those dates. Probably not though so I will just go whenever thanks! X

Toffee2911 · 04/07/2022 09:27

Hi everyone, 17+2 here with our first!

I've got my whooping cough vaccine and 20 week scan at the end of the month but we're not finding out the gender - we'll leave that to be a surprise! 🙂

lifechanginglemoncake · 04/07/2022 09:29

Hi @Amphibian94 in my trust they do it at the same time as the 20 week scan so maybe so that?

Toffee2911 · 04/07/2022 09:34

@SweetMelody19 I have low PAPP-A too (around 0.34). I'm taking my 2 aspirins a day and i'll have an extra scan at 28 weeks. I am not worrying too much though, my midwife has been very reassuring🙂

SweetMelody19 · 04/07/2022 09:36

Hi @Toffee2911 thanks for your reply. Mine was 0.31 on my notes. I haven't received a prescription for my aspirin just yet. I'm not sure if I have to call the doctors or will get it from my midwife on Friday. Thanks again for being positive and reassuring ☺️ Hope you are doing ok ♥️ x

Toffee2911 · 04/07/2022 09:42

@SweetMelody19 i'd ring up your GP and ask them to get your prescription sorted.. just in case you don't get it on Friday! I got my aspirin the day after getting my results x

SweetMelody19 · 04/07/2022 09:43

@Toffee2911 thank you I will definitely call up today and get it sorted! X

stuntbubbles · 04/07/2022 09:45

@SweetMelody19 You can just buy the aspirin! I’m on it too and couldn’t be bothered with the faff of prescriptions when it’s easily accessible over the counter for like 16p – midwife said it’s absolutely fine to DIY it.

SweetMelody19 · 04/07/2022 09:59

Thank you @stuntbubbles could always try that too if I can't get through to the doctors! X☺️

Orcarain · 04/07/2022 10:59

Hi ladies,

Bad morning so far! Back on the lemon and ginger! 16 weeks tomorrow. Thought this should be over by now!

Wondering if it's lack of sleep. Stupidly fell asleep on the sofa yesterday afternoon and woke up at 6pm! Had to be up super early for my car MOT as well. Just feeling like a mess.

Redhairanddungarees · 04/07/2022 11:25

Hello all, I’m due 30 November according to my 12 week scan but I think baby will be here in December based on my dates so wanted to come and say hello!

I’m nearly 19 weeks and this is my second child, my daughter turned 3 last month. I’ve got my 20 week scan next week and I’m still feeling really sick! Been on anti sickness meds since 6 weeks and I don’t think this is going anywhere. I had a bit of sickness with my daughter but nowhere near as bad as this.

Vg92 · 04/07/2022 11:25

Hi @AG96 and @KittyKat1989 I am 18 weeks and I have low abdominal tenderness/tension/cramping. It reminds me of my period and it really freaks me out. My midwife was not impressed at all...
I have anomaly scan next Monday, so I just hope it is all good and normal 🙏🙏🙏

AG96 · 04/07/2022 13:18

@Vg92 My GP have phoned and said I have a "borderline" UTI so need to give another sample before they treat me. Think that has been contributing to my pain so could be worth checking that out?

Nutella99 · 04/07/2022 15:07

I'm 18 weeks. I've not been sleeping well either, allergies plus needing to pee at least twice a night just make it really difficult. And I keep waking up early. I'm so tired, have random aches and pains, still got nausea most days, nothing I do or eat makes me feel better. Worried about childbirth and looking after a baby. I know I'm lucky to be having a healthy pregnancy but feeling pretty down about it all really. Sorry just needed a rant.

Vg92 · 04/07/2022 15:52

@AG96 I would love to check it but my midwife said as long as it is light and not persistent, there is nothing to worry about. I have scan next Monday.
It is very stressful for me but I guess I will have to wait.

LolaJ87 · 04/07/2022 16:00

Aha! Found you all.

Hope everyone is doing ok! Had the whooping cough vaccine last week and aside from a tender lump on my arm, everything is all good with me.

I took last week off work and behaved like an actual person. It made me sad I can't take more time off really. Without work draining me, I didn't find being pregnant half as hard or exhausting, because I could just listen to what my body wanted.

@Nutella99 sorry to hear you're struggling. I'm with you on the lack of sleep and constant weeing, but some time off work really helped me! Is that an option for you at all? It doesn't matter so much that you had a bad sleep when you can put your feet up and relax when you need to. The birth is aggggges away, as is parenting. It's easier said than done but try to control what you can right now ❤

AG96 · 04/07/2022 16:16

@Nutella99 I'm with you on all those feelings and I'm 18 weeks as well. You're definitely not alone. I'm not so worried about childbirth as what will be, will be with that but scared about raising a hopefully decent human afterwards! Feel free to rant, I find this thread so helpful to rant on. When you're trying to put on the happy face in real life, then you can come here at let it out! Xx

@Vg92 I took a urine sample to my GP because I felt something was wrong. At least your scan is close. How are you feeling about the scan? I get so excited but also so nervous for them. Mine is 20th July

@LolaJ87 Agreed with the time off work being great. I'm back tomorrow and dreading having to be awake and present through a full day. From 8am to 5pm around people 😅

LolaJ87 · 04/07/2022 16:33

Oh no @AG96 that's a long day back in! Glad to hear you enjoyed some time off though, even if it has been marred by the start of a UTI 😬 I'm still WFH a lot of the time, but I felt really resentful to be in the office this morning.

Laughingmole · 04/07/2022 17:44

@AG96 I have my 20 week scan the same day as you! It can’t come quick enough, I’m desperate to know what I’m having! But trying to resist the urge of a private scan!

AG96 · 04/07/2022 19:32

@LolaJ87 I used to WFH mostly and I absolutely hated having to go into the office. Now I work in a factory and miss the WFH so much lol. Work don't realise how selfish they are stopping our naps and chill on the sofa time! 😂

@Laughingmole How are you feeling about the scan? I'm excited but nervous as it's an important one. You have any guesses on what you're having?

LC84 · 04/07/2022 20:28

SweetMelody19 · 03/07/2022 19:45

Hi has anyone heard of or got low PAPP-A ? Just recently found out after having the extra screening done and just a bit worried. I've been referred to the FMU foetal medical unit and will be monitored with growth scans and have to take aspirin daily Just wondered if anyone else is going through the same? X

Yes me last week! Think its just extra monitoring and nothing to worry about at the moment... on the plus side we get more scans so thats how Im trying to view it.. but it was scary getting the letter

Vg92 · 04/07/2022 20:45

@AG96 I am soooo nervous about the scan. I had my last scan 2 weeks ago and everything was fine but as this one is the anomaly scan, it makes me very nervous and scared... I have not felt the baby yet and my belly is tiny (I am thin and I thought I would have a big bump by now).

ElephantGrey101 · 04/07/2022 21:27

Sweetmelody I am pleased you are feeling a bit more reassured.

@Nutella99 is this your first baby? I am also worrying about the birth. I really want to have a Caesarian because of what happened in my first birth but my consultant appointment is not until I am 32 weeks and it is on the phone. I just worry that I won’t have a chance to explain myself.

Laughingmole · 04/07/2022 21:50

@AG96 I’m a lot more positive about this scan than the last. I was so worried before the 12 week that something would have gone wrong. But this time I’m just excited to find out what I’m having. I’ve started feeling a few movements (or at least I think they are!) over the weekend so I’m hoping that means everything is ok 🤞

We were convinced boy for a few weeks but I’ve a couple of dreams that it’s a girl so now I genuinely don’t know, but I’m swaying towards girl! What about you?

MrsN3 · 04/07/2022 22:34

@Nutella99 I am the exact same with worrying- if I’m honest I have moments where I try to pretend it’s not happening to not get myself het up with worrying. I’ve tried to just say to myself “what will happen will happen” and through watching a few YouTubers births I have felt a bit more open to things not going to plan and being a bit gross and generally feeling more comfortable that it won’t be pleasant but it has to come out somehow but surely isn’t that bad of people go on to have more 😂

Called my hospital and have my second scan booked in two weeks- excited to see it look bigger and hopefully behave for the camera- not sure what it is and don’t want to know but have been keen with trying the skull theory and nub theory but no answers 😂
