Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

Have had a resurge of my nausea the last few days, and aversion to food in general 😣 thankfully not been sick (yet) but I'm not loving it! Has anyone else had this? I'm 18+1 today and by this point with my others it had completely gone!

LolaJ87 · 07/07/2022 09:00

@AG96 Wow I didn't realise it could happen so early! None for me yet. That has to be a good sign for you though if you want to breastfeed? Your body is already prepping supplies!

@Mommabear20 yeah I still get it intermittently, not as constant as first trimester but still have food aversions and often don't want to eat in the evenings. Sorry you're feeling rubbish, hope it improves soon.

AG96 · 07/07/2022 09:02

@PinkButtercups Congratulations on the twins! How exciting. Will you be finding out what you're having? Do you have children already? Fingers crossed they stay put until 37 weeks 🤞😊

@Sdoubleyou I've been having the most painful nipples. Just agony 😩 kind of makes me nervous to have colostrum this early in case it means he will come early?

AG96 · 07/07/2022 09:09

@LolaJ87 Dr Google says it can happen but it did worry me. It was only a very tiny amount but was very white 😂 hope it hasn't opened the floodgates and I don't end up with milky tshirts too soon 😂

Thank you.

I have a just turned 3 year old DS 🥰. No, we won't be finding out as we didn't we our son x

@Mommabear20 Me! so bizarre. I'm 16+2 and have now had to be put on antisickness meds as I hadn't eaten since Monday. They've worked a treat though! Was able to eat a pot noodle last night.

Sdoubleyou · 07/07/2022 11:46

@AG96, oh that's unfortunate, painful nips sound like agony! Are there any remedies they have for that? There seems to be a trick for everything. Would the cold cabbage leaves help?

Hi all! I'm 19 weeks today and have the most uncomfortable cramps in my lower abdomen like period cramps. I've had this before and midwife said it was growing and stretching pains so not overly worried just hope it eases off soon. I've got a bit of discharge accompanying it though, clear and egg white ish so assuming there's a lot going on. Anyone else still getting these cramps every so often?

I've still not felt any popping or movement. A week to go for scan!

AG96 · 07/07/2022 12:36

@Sdoubleyou The pain is caused when my nipples get cold so it's lots worse in a morning. The only thing that gets rid of the pain is if I tap on my nipples to get the blood flow going. Sounds mad and looks mad but

AG96 · 07/07/2022 12:39

Pressed post too soon 🙄....

It's the only thing that helps the pain lol.

@hopefulsunshine11 I have been having cramps and increased discharge at times. I called the women's health unit and they said pain is from growing and stretching. Also said it's common to have discharge changes through pregnancy. Just said to call back if I started bleeding or pain became a lot worse. Worth checking with your trust though if you are concerned 😊

Charl1247 · 07/07/2022 15:28

Hi everyone,

I am just wondering what people have been buying so far? And at what stages? I'm 18 weeks 3 days and haven't really bought anything.

Thanks x

Toffee2911 · 07/07/2022 16:06

@Charl1247 i'll be 18 weeks tomorrow! We haven't bought anything just yet but we have been out looking at things and researching the most recommended brands, etc. We're making a list of the big things we need then we'll wait for the sales! 😊

hopefulsunshine11 · 07/07/2022 16:31

@Charl1247 We're waiting for the 20 week scan then will start to look at buy things!

PinkFizz1 · 07/07/2022 16:33

@Charl1247 We’ve bought a few babygrows/outfits and a packet of nappies. (I’m 18+2). Not going to buy any big stuff until after my 21 week scan but have made a list.

Charl1247 · 07/07/2022 16:59

Thanks ladies! Feeling a little overwhelmed today and torn between really wanting to get excited and buy a few bits but still anxious and want to wait until after my 20 week scan lol x

lifechanginglemoncake · 07/07/2022 17:01

We're not buying much this time round as we have so much stuff from my son. At this stage last time we had researched some of the bigger purchases and we bought the pram just after the 20 week scan as it was the January sales and there were decent offers.

This time I need to do a lot of sorting and organising which I've been putting off until after the scan. I know it's probably irrational but it somehow seems like it would be better to wait!

siobhanmt247 · 07/07/2022 17:14

I've done loads of research and saved links to the items I want but don't feel comfortable buying until after the 20 week scan

RhiRhi1996 · 07/07/2022 17:15

I have bought 1 babygrow , and in the same store, my mum and nan bought something each for the baby too. Just clothing.

Apart from that, I won't buy any clothing until way nearer the time and will focus on my bigger purchases or other non clothing necessities.

As its my first, a few family members want to help, and are buying a few of the bigger purchases anyway such as crib or Pram. So I don't need to worry about that.

But yeah, after 20 week scan, I will start going through the list and buying things I think!

Hello everyone,
Wanted to join in the chat - am due little one 16th December!

This may be totally irrelevant- but Have you looked into Rauynaud's syndrome of the nipple!? I have it and the pain when they get remotely cold (talking in fridge aisle in the supermarket or going outside sometimes) can be unbearable. Got a lot worse in pregnancy.
Like you say the blood supply gets cut off. If it is that it's better you know now as can affect breastfeeding (if that's what you plan). But the good news is there is medication - I am going to line some up for before baby comes to take once they're here.... and other ways to help.
if you think that's it- happy to chat more as can massively sympathise. But again may not be it all x

DogsAndGin · 07/07/2022 18:31

@Charl1247 I’m 17 weeks today, and have been snapping up bargains on FB marketplace. If it weren’t for being a bargain opportunist I wouldn’t have anything yet, but seeing as they popped up locally, I have so far got:

pram system
car seat
crib
changing table
bouncy chair
gro egg light
nursing chair and footstall
moses basket and stand
2 sleeping bags
2 ledge book shelves

Just waiting for the baby now 😂

Orcarain · 07/07/2022 18:41

@lifechanginglemoncake as a second time mum, what are some of the things you would recommend NOT to buy? Things that you never ended up using?

I’m finding this so interesting just now and I’m following a girl on instagram that goes into a lot of it. My favourite so far has been newborn socks… because they just go missing 😂

Meowcat89 · 07/07/2022 18:52

I've bought quite a few bits of clothing which I wasn't intending to do til after the 20 week scan and now the bottom of my wardrobe is fit to burst 😬 Could do with buying baby furniture just to free up space but there's a lot to do decorating wise before we can think about doing up the nursery.

DogsAndGin · 07/07/2022 19:07

@Orcarain That’s a good point! I’m quite sure my dog would eat all the baby socks! I’ll have to get babygrows with feet 😆

@Meowcat89 same here. Our nursery is filled to the brim with baby furniture but we actually need to replaster, completely redecorate, new window and new carpet! Only 22 weeks to go 😩🧐
