Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

@Orcarain Ovia pregnancy 😁 there's 4 categories to choose from!

I'm battling 2 cranky toddlers today which is exhausting! I've managed pretty well with them and being pregnant so far but this heat is just making them so miserable and I can't even take them out to run of their energy as it's just too hot for them 😭 is anyone else struggling with their tiny terrors? 😂

AmyAW · 11/08/2022 10:12

20 week scan day.... 😬 so nervous. But feeling a bit better about the fact I'm now definately feeling the baby move, and even felt one little kick when I put my hand to my tummy earlier! Absolutely magical.

Jaaxe · 11/08/2022 10:26

@Mommabear20 im so glad it’s not just my toddlers that are miserable in the heat! I’m currently on holiday inside with both toddlers whilst my oh and eldest are outside enjoying the sunshine….bring on nap time 🤣 x

stuntbubbles · 11/08/2022 14:16

@AmyAW It’s my scan day today too! Having to take sick bags with me, about to set off in a taxi, can’t cope on boiling public transport today.

The nice thing about feeling so ill is it’s taking all my energy, no room for scanxiety.

Mommabear20 · 11/08/2022 15:00

@Jaaxe it's definitely not just your! I'm leaving mine to sleep longer than I normally would just for some peace and quiet 😂

stuntbubbles · 11/08/2022 15:20

Hospital has accidentally cancelled my scan – how?! Why?! – but is acting like it’s a favour they can squeeze me in anyway – 100 minutes after the original appointment time! It is hot as balls here and there’s nowhere else really to go so we’re just waiting and sweating. DP will have to leave 15m in to collect DD from nursery. Eurgh.

Didn’t bring enough sick bags for this. Sad

Tofu35 · 11/08/2022 17:39

No scan for me, but I did have a midwife appt. Didn't know they needed another urine sample, so was chugging water in the waiting room (although at 22 weeks, any more than a thimble of water is enough!). Also self referred to physio because I'm getting a pain to the right of my groin/inner hip every day any time I walk more than 10 mins!

Hope everyone's scans today went okay, and @stuntbubbles did they manage to fit you in or are you needing to go back?

Vg92 · 11/08/2022 19:18

A quick double check, please 🙏
It is safe to take paracetamol in the second trimester (23+3), right?
I am very very very concerned. 2 days ago my partner had high fever 39 and severe headache, it all went down in 24 hours after paracetamol and ibuprofen. Today I have temperature 37.3 and minimal headache. I am horrified it will progress because I know fever is very dangerous for the baby 😢
Any thoughts would help at the moment. Thank you!

stuntbubbles · 11/08/2022 19:21

@Vg92 Totally fine. Take the usual dose. The baby will be fine - both with the medicine and your temperature.

@Tofu35 Thanks, they saw me in the end – had to wait around til the end of the day so it was like a ghost town and I was sweating bullets. All well with the baby, though. Managed to save my next vomit til I got home!

Is anyone else like me and STILL throwing up beyond 20 weeks? Can’t bear it.

Vg92 · 11/08/2022 19:36

@stuntbubbles thank you very much. It is much appreciated 🤗

Mommabear20 · 11/08/2022 19:43

@Vg92 paracetamol is absolutely fine to take in pregnancy 😁 it's the only relief we can get sometimes 😂

Mommabear20 · 11/08/2022 19:44

@stuntbubbles have you spoken to your midwife or GP about anti sickness tablets? I've had them in all my pregnancies and they're an absolute life saver 🙌

Slisha · 11/08/2022 22:03

I got my MATB1 form. Thanks @Mommabear20 the midwife said there's only one form and works for paternity as well. She also said they don't give duplicates so I shouldn't lose it.

Baby brain seems really, for me and for NHS too. I went to birthing center to book GTT, who sent me to GP, who sent me back to birthing center, who checked whether they can book. We found I had already been booked in 😂

Sdoubleyou · 11/08/2022 22:43

@stuntbubbles, I didn't throw up much during the first trimester despite some persistent nausea, but I've had random vomiting during the second. It's very odd because it comes on suddenly and then I feel a lot better. Is your like that or similar to first trimester? Agree that it may be HG and you should speak to GP. Sounds awful!

Scan done, one healthy baby girl! 💗 perfectly average on all measurements. Have to pop back next week for a check on her heart, as she just would not roll over for the sonographer to do the whole check, but nothing to worry about baser on what we know right now 🥰

stuntbubbles · 12/08/2022 06:56

Thanks, @Mommabear20 and @Sdoubleyou – I spoke to my midwife early on about anti-emetics but I wasn’t throwing up so relentlessly back then, and it all quietened down a few weeks ago. Back with a vengeance now BUT I just tested positive for Covid and feel like grim death, so I suspect it’s the Covid not the pregnancy. Once I’m through that I’ll make a GP appointment though if I’m still sick.

Right now I want to go to bed for a week but instead I have to parent a three year old in a heatwave 😭

chardaboo · 12/08/2022 09:10

anyone in Scotland applied for sure start maternity grant ? I did on the 14th July and not heard back anything .

Seraphim87 · 12/08/2022 09:33

Week 24 - I feel like that’s a milestone so it seems ages since I’ve seen anyone.
still not right after covid and I look like a zombie - can’t shake being perma-tired.

Nutella99 · 12/08/2022 12:37

I think I have pelvic girdle pain :( I tick quite a few of the symptoms on the NHS website. Not sure who to contact - midwife? GP? Or looks like I can self refer to the physio department.

I walk at least a bit most days and do gentle yoga a couple of times a week but find I tend to feel worse after I've done more exercise, even though it's recommended to do those things with PGP! Anyone got any advice?

chardaboo · 13/08/2022 07:24

@Nutella99 I read on another forum thing about someone with pelvic pain and they mentioned one of those bump bands help ..not sure if it's worth getting one ?

Orcarain · 13/08/2022 22:24

So DP has tested positive for COVID. I’m negative. I’ve been disinfecting the house like a mad woman!!! I’m 21+4. Anyone else had COVID second trimester? I know it’s not as worrying as catching it in third semester… but obvs I’m driving myself mental!

October cannot come quick enough for my fourth jab!!!!

stuntbubbles · 14/08/2022 05:03

@Orcarain Ive got it right now and it’s horrendous. It’s resurrected my morning sickness and I can’t keep a thing down, plus the night sweats, plus heatwave, plus unshakeable migraine, plus exhaustion beyond anything I’ve ever had – even first trimester exhaustion! Highly don’t recommend 😭

MissC07 · 14/08/2022 08:30

@Orcarain I had it at the very early stages of my second tri (13 weeks), I felt absolutely horrendous, high temp, couldn't get out of bed, throwing up etc and contacted my midwives who were lovely and said unless I was over 16 weeks they didn't need to monitor me. If I was over 16 weeks they would've put me on special monitoring, although not exactly sure what that would've entailed! Hope you manage to avoid it

Vg92 · 14/08/2022 08:31

@stuntbubbles and @Orcarain +1 with covid here 😔 had high temperature for 2 days plus chills plus headache, and now mild sore throat... not fun at all!!! Just hope the Baby will be fine, I am nearly 24 weeks.
Get well soon @stuntbubbles

Jaaxe · 14/08/2022 09:35

I had it early 2nd trimester about 14/16 weeks. I felt horrendous but got over it ok. My little boy has it at the moment again too xx
