Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

Be strong @Mommabear20! Could you get one wee thing, or would that open the shopping floodgates?

Mommabear20 · 29/07/2022 13:59

@Tofu35 I've been getting 'one wee thing' every month 😂 and so far I've got a car seat, a blanket for the car, some leggings, pyjamas, pramsuit, sling, 6 packs of nappies, water wipes, stock pile of normal wipes, some formula, a bib, cutlery for nappy bag (when she's eating solids), bag for her swimming lessons, towel for her swimming lessons, swim nappy, 2 sleeping bags and probably more that I'm forgetting 😂 I did already have most of her clothes that I hadn't gotten rid of that were DD yet so I don't need to much.

Mommabear20 · 29/07/2022 14:00

I compromised not going shopping for packing my hospital bag instead 😂

Tofu35 · 29/07/2022 14:51

You're making me think I should go shopping this weekend @Mommabear20! Friends have sent over a car seat, pregnancy pillow, changing bag, birthing ball, sling/baby carrier. I'll be signing up for the baby box so a few things will come with that. But maybe I should go shopping for some of the things you listed 😨

Mommabear20 · 29/07/2022 14:58

@Tofu35 haha 😂 you've got plenty of time! I'm just an over organiser! 🤣

Jaaxe · 29/07/2022 16:29

@Mommabear20 absolutely howling 🤣 on the plus side it’s spreading the cost! I’ve bought absolutely zero so far 🤣 x

Mommabear20 · 29/07/2022 16:48

I caved and dragged DH to Asda when he finished work 😂 apart from bottles that I'm getting off Amazon, we've got everything now 🤣 now the problem is gonna be not buying more stuff between now and December just because it's cute! 😂

HayleyBean · 29/07/2022 19:57

@Sunshine92 I'm 20+3 and i've got an anterior placenta too and not felt anything yet. The lady who did my 20 week scan said I probably wouldn't feel anything until 24 weeks so I'm not stressing x

Solstice143 · 29/07/2022 22:02

Just had our 20 week scan! Found out We're having a little boy which I had been thinking was the case 😊💙 💚

@Solstice143 congrats on your little boy!! 💙

Sdoubleyou · 31/07/2022 19:25

So I may have lost my mind, but I'm going camping and hiking with DP tomorrow for a night. Tent camping. Yep, with a bulging belly. We've camped a lot and I love it, but I'm a little apprehensive of doing it pregnant. We're taking the car there so I'm bringing three pillows from home and extra blankets to cushion my air mattress. The weather will be nice, so hopefully all will go well. Not looking forward to the nighttime peeing though!

@Sdoubleyou aww that will be lovely! I have been craving going camping for a while, haven't been since I was a kid! But we don't have tent etc and can't justify buying one atm, especially as I don't want a small one!

I'm sure you'll be reasonably comfortable, and it's only for one night anyway!

Enjoy your trip x

Tofu35 · 01/08/2022 09:05

A lovely scan photo @Solstice143 congrats on your wee boy!
Did my first maternity shop yesterday as my current bras are creaking under the weight of second trimester boobs. I was tempted to go back and change into it as soon as I bought them, but waited until I got home. What a difference it makes! I'm still in big baggy sundresses but think some maternity leggings will be next :)

Seraphim87 · 01/08/2022 10:59

So after mentioning at work on Friday how bad infection control procedures were being followed at work. My colleague announced yesterday that after being I’ll for the latter part of last week she has covid. Fast forward to Friday where poor planning meant we had a meeting with 9 people in a single occupancy consultation I tested positive this morning. Feeling pretty angry about it

Pinkfig · 01/08/2022 14:56

Had my 20 week scan this morning and all looks well.

Baby brain has started though and we went to the wrong hospital 🤣 luckily the maternity unit I went to were lovely and squeezed me in!

Solstice143 · 01/08/2022 15:04

Ahh thanks @Tofu35 😊

I think I need to get some maternity clothes too!
Have a wedding at the end of the month as well to buy for

Solstice143 · 01/08/2022 15:05

@Pinkfig so pleased scan went well and you got there in the end 🙏😂

Loute02 · 01/08/2022 16:16

Also had my 20 weeks scan this morning and found out we're having a boy 💙feel like a lot of us are having boys 😆
Everything is well.
I can finally go shopping and buy all those cute little baby things!! Woohoo

MrsN3 · 01/08/2022 16:40

Ahh congratulations on all these boys! So lovely and so crazy to think we’re in august now and one month closer to our babies!

We went for a surprise although I feel recently I’m having “boy vibes”. Interested to know if any of the old wives tales were correct with genders for any of you that now know?

StarveInn · 01/08/2022 16:51

@MrsN3 heart rate and Chinese gender chart both suggest girl for me but he’s a boy (and after seeing all of him on the scan I’ll be shocked if that’s wrong!)

Mommabear20 · 01/08/2022 17:26

@MrsN3 the Chinese calendar has been wrong for all 3 of mine 😂

Loute02 · 01/08/2022 18:33

@MrsN3 Chinese calendar was right for me. But nubologists and heart rate predicted a girl.
Did not have any morning sickness but also usually crave for sweet food ... could not find a pattern that would always give me the same answer

MrsN3 · 01/08/2022 19:44

@StarveInn @Mommabear20 i found different websites for Chinese calendar gave me different results so took that as a pinch of salt but wasn’t sure about the bump being high or low and wide had any truth in it or it’s just different body shapes? It fascinates me that these tales have been around so long!

@Loute02 that is interesting. I had morning sickness from weeks 6-19 and only what sweet foods- I actually hate having a proper sit down meal and feel repulsed by most meals currently (I’m putting it down to hormones rather than a gender and seems it doesn’t really show a pattern for a gender)

Dora2018 · 01/08/2022 20:34

I went for my 20 week scan today and was told baby looked to be forming perfectly and everything was good. She did mention I had a low lying placenta and would need a follow up scan at 32 Weeks. However I’ve just been on Mypregnancy notes and can see I’ve been give an appointment with Colette Sparey (fetal medicine unit) for next week I am now worried and was hoping someone may be able to put my mind at rest.

MadamMaltesers · 01/08/2022 23:18

I'm expecting a boy too. With this pregnancy my morning sickness was horrendous and was diagnosed with hyperemesis. I was also craving savoury food. I can also notice that I'm carrying a lot higher than my previous pregnancy. I feel a lot lighter too and the bump is not as big as my last pregnancy.

@Dora2018 I was told that I had low lying placenta at 30 weeks when I started bleeding heavily and had to have an emergency csec a week later. I was told that my placenta was covering the Os. So I wouldn't be able to give birth vaginally. The main reason for my emcs though was because of an infection and no amniotic fluid.
