Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

@Jaaxe I'm getting mine on the same day as my 20 week scan, midwife said it would save me a trip. Which is true!

Jaaxe · 24/07/2022 09:15

@Tofu35 thanks for this! I should of asked my midwife yesterday when I saw her, I’m sure I get mine at the gps if I remember from last time x

Mommabear20 · 24/07/2022 09:17

@Jaaxe yeah that's all I've ever done 😊

Laughingmole · 24/07/2022 09:40

I got told after my 20 week scan to just ask for it at the maternity reception. However they had run out and didn’t know when they would have any more. I can’t keep popping into the hospital on the off chance they have some more 🤷‍♀️ It’s only done through the hospital here not GPs.

Also, when do we get the Mat1 form? I’m worried that as I’m now on school summer holidays, if I hand it in in September it will be be too late?

buzz91 · 24/07/2022 09:48

Mine's done at the gps and they told me to book straight after my 16 week appointment, so got mine this week at 19+2.
Matb1 phone up your midwife after your 20 week scan and they’ll get it ready for you and you can pick it up when it’s done

Jaaxe · 24/07/2022 09:57

Matb1 u can get from 20weeks, my midwife just said text me when you’ve had your 20 week scan and I can do it for you to pick up if you need it sooner than when I’m seeing her at 25weeks x

AG96 · 24/07/2022 10:27

I had whooping cough vaccine at 20 week scan on Wednesday, arm is still the tiniest bit sore but didn't have any other side effects. Also got my matb1 at the hospital when I had my scan

RhiRhi1996 · 24/07/2022 12:48

I had my whooping cough vaccine at my 16 week midwife appointment!

I feel like a lot of people are having a much better experience with their midwifery service. Mine won’t let me have my mat1b till my next appointment at 26 week even though my work want it sooner

Bluebonnet3 · 24/07/2022 23:49

I don't get my matb1 form until week 25. My gd screening is week 26. And my 20 week scan is on my 19th wedding anniversary!

Mommabear20 · 25/07/2022 07:20

Getting very excited now! Got My scan tomorrow! 😁 how is everyone else that's having scans this week feeling? I'm so convinced it's a girl that I'm now getting anxious that it's going to be a boy and I'll have been saying she and her for the last month! 😂

lifechanginglemoncake · 25/07/2022 08:00

Getting a bit nervous for the scan now. Just want to get an all clear and everything's healthy and then I can relax again for a bit! Hope everyone else with scans tomorrow gets good news. Exciting for those finding out the sex.

Slisha · 25/07/2022 10:07

I've got my 20w scan on Wednesday and so very excited to find out the gender! Hoping to get my WC vaccine at the same time too.

Thanks for all the posts on MatB 1. I didn't even know I needed one!! Will phone up midwife right after the scan.

Also anyone feeling anxious about weight? NHS and other websites saying I'll put on 10-12kg and mostly from 20w onwards. But at 20w I have already put on 6kg. I'm getting nervous of GTT.

Jaaxe · 25/07/2022 11:22

@Slisha defo don’t forget to get ur MATB1, it’s how u get paid for being off on maternity 😂 @Seraphim87 if you need it before then defo ask your midwife, mine understood a lot of employers want the matb1 earlier and was more than happy for me to txt her for one once I’d had my 20 week scan as soon as I need it.

good luck for everyone having their 20 week scan this week! Mines not for another 3 weeks, I’m going on holiday for 2 weeks so had to book it for when I get back when I’ll be nearly 21 weeks which they said would be ok as I’m still within the 20 week mark but they would ideally have done it bang on 20 weeks.

Chanel05 · 25/07/2022 11:42

@Jaaxe I had mine with my dd at at almost 21 weeks and it was totally fine!

Mines on 9th august when I'll be 20+4 as we're away until 8th August too.

HayleyBean · 25/07/2022 12:40

My 20 week scan is on Weds which is our wedding anniversary. I'm hoping everything is ok and then I can relax and actually start buying some stuff and making nursery plans. I still feel in a mild state of denial like this isn't happening, even though my bump is growing.

Slisha · 25/07/2022 13:29

@Jaaxe Thanks! Yes reading up on it now. When I read it in my HR policy I thought it was some internal form 😐 Enjoy your holiday!!

@Bluebonnet3 and @HayleyBean that's a special wedding anniversary! Good luck

CP22 · 25/07/2022 14:05

@HayleyBean mine is tomorrow, also our wedding anniversary!! 🥰

Tofu35 · 25/07/2022 15:13

Had my first big mood crash yesterday, just unshakeable sadness. Obviously hormones doing their job, but wow I was getting used to feeling a bit cranky and tired but mostly fine. Big sadness was a different kettle of fish all together!

Downloaded a mindfulness app and spent time with some family to try and distract me but think I'm going to have to be a bit more proactive with my mental health again!

Orcarain · 25/07/2022 18:02

@Tofu35 Due to work and other commitments my DP and I haven’t been spending a lot of time together, which isn’t unusual for us.

but the other day I cried about it! Full blown sobbing that all I wanted was a hug from him. Very out of character! Putting it down to hormones.

Sdoubleyou · 25/07/2022 19:17

@Tofu35, I've been mostly really good, like over the moon happy, but anxiety creeps in now and then. I seem to be fixated on my DP, like afraid of him dying. I had a bad bout of it a few nights ago. He went to sleep early and I was terrified he wouldn't wake up (not rational, I know). I ended up watching him sleep to make sure he was breathing, then cried for ten minutes of relief after he woke up. Completely coo-coo. Thankfully it passed but I feel like I'm in need of a better outlet. So I totally get the mood shifts, it comes on strong!

@Sdoubleyou I know this fear. I had it last time I was pregnant too. Worried about DH driving to work in the rain or fog, worried about him getting ill etc. this time I had a panic he would find someone else (literally nothing to suggest this and we've talked about it). I think it's your hormones and your brain preparing for worst case scenarios but it's really stressful.

MissC07 · 25/07/2022 20:32

@Mommabear20 my scan is tomorrow too, I'm convinced it's a boy although in all of the vivid dreams I've had it's been a girl so who knows 🤣 I just hope it's awake tomorrow, during my 12 week it was just asleep the whole time and I was made to jump up and down the room!

Tofu35 · 25/07/2022 20:33

Aww @Orcarain are you still feeling like this? Hope he gave you a big cuddle when he was back. Hormones are tricky!

@Sdoubleyou I love that whatever weird thing is happening in this pregnancy, at least two other people can sympathise and make it feel more normal and less like I'm losing it! Did you tell him what was happening after he woke up? That must have felt frightening!

@lifechanginglemoncake I had a dream the other night that my husband gave me a "we need to have sex or I'll leave you" ultimatum. I was so annoyed at him when I woke up because he's so sympathetic to my aches, pains, exhaustion and nausea. Had to play it cool when he asked about it, but secretly I was furious at dream him!

Sdoubleyou · 25/07/2022 20:45

@Tofu35, yes I had to explain why I was standing there watching him sleep! 😂 He was understanding and comforted me while I sobbed, but he definitely doesn't "understand" the hormones. He's a good sport though. He'll be extra attentive when I'm feeling off.
