Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

@JC84 I felt like I got a bump very early one (it's my third) but then like growth has been slow.

MadamMaltesers · 22/07/2022 20:40

Had my 20 scan today, was told to come back because they couldn't see everything clearly. Hopefully it will turn out ok when I go back. I was told they could see the spine properly because the baby wasn't moving much.

oopsnowits4 · 22/07/2022 21:54

Very late saying hello but I’ve been lurking while I got my head around a surprise number 4.

Due 21st Dec. Not finding out sex even though I did with the others. Taking every bit of my self restraint not to but this is definitely the last! Absolutely convinced it’s a girl though. Will be 18 month gap with DC3.

Bluebonnet3 · 22/07/2022 23:18

Welcome @oopsnowits4 , we are due date buddies! This is my first, but the midwife already warned me they are likely to induce me in my 39th week if it hasn't come earlier.

I have nothing much to report, just waiting around for my 20 week scan in a couple of weeks. One website compared the baby's size at 18 weeks to a cucumber, which seems a bit odd. Another says sweet red pepper, which makes a little more sense to me. 🤣

Oh yeah, my acupuncture session earlier in the week was really relaxing. But it could have just been the enforced meditation, as I didn't want to move around with little needles all over me! I had some slight bruising, but no pain or anything. I'll go back for another session in a month or so.

Jaaxe · 23/07/2022 06:48

Welcome @oopsnowits4 you sound like me!! Suprise baby number 4 here too (even took the morning
after pill which failed) and we’ve decided to not find out the gender this time too and will be the first time we haven’t as did with the others! It was a struggle yesterday at my 17 week scan as they offered to tell me 🤣 I’m due 28th dec, but will have elective csection around 37/38 weeks this time, hope you are ok! It took me a while to get my head around a suprise 4th, we still haven’t told anyone xx

Mommabear20 · 23/07/2022 07:09

Welcome @oopsnowits4 it's a surprise one for me too! Will be baby number 3 for me, took us a while to get our heads around it, both seem to be getting there now!

Nothing major to report here either! Have my anatomy scan on Tuesday, can't wait to see if it's team pink or blue! Everyone so far thinks it's a girl! 🤞🤞

Mommabear20 · 23/07/2022 08:37

What's everyone up to this weekend? I'm Going car shopping with 2 toddlers today! Wish me luck 😂

HayleyBean · 23/07/2022 11:26

@RhiRhi1996 my midwife came to my house for my 16 week appointment, just asked general questions and then I got to hear the heartbeat. I cleaned like crazy the night before but she never even left the lounge 😂

I'm mooching into town in a bit to get some shopping and then will be heading back out this eve to watch the carnival. It's the 100th year so it should be a good one. Tomorrow is a beach day and then seeing my folks

Jaaxe · 23/07/2022 12:30

I’m currently going through my kids newborn/ 0-3 things to throw out or keep for this one….I’ve so much girls things and hardly any boys…I think I passed a lot of my boy stuff on to friends and family…we’re not finding out what we’re having but we’re completely sorted if it’s a girl….anyone who’s already started buying, where’s nice to get some unisex or boy newborn sleepsuits/vests? As we don’t really need much I just thought I’d get a really nice newborn unisex pack then wait till they’re born and send my other half out if it’s a boy for more bits x

DogsAndGin · 23/07/2022 15:24

@KittyKat1989 I don’t think it’ll be too late at all - but I think you need to be clear to them about what you want. If you say you’re anxious about a vaginal birth, they should give you mental health support, but not necessarily an ELCS if you haven’t voiced a preference. Thank you so much, and best of luck to you too 😊 xx

We've been catching up on jobs at home and having one of those rare weekend days where the toddler has been content to play with toys and help with jobs and we haven't fallen out with each other! My Mum offered to babysit for 2 nights in September so just booked a spa hotel with husband. Cannot wait!

Got my 20 week scan on Tuesday. Fingers crossed all is well and then I can really start sorting all the baby clothes and nesting (irrational fear of starting before the scan). We'll stay team yellow though.

Tofu35 · 23/07/2022 17:14

It's my birthday tomorrow and having some family round. So today I'm making some nice "make the day before" salads and dips so tomorrow I can float around and shove some sausage rolls etc in the oven and relax!

I have had to hide the crisps I bought because I've already started picking at them 😂

Laughingmole · 23/07/2022 17:58

We bought a cot today off marketplace… makes it all seem so much more real! I’m a teacher so want to get the nursery sorted over the 6 weeks holidays so then it’s done!

@Bluebonnet3
I thought the same when I saw the cucumber on various apps....😅
Maybe an American thing? as the average cucumber here is way out and mini cucumber doesn't quite work either. So rogue....

Anyway at least this week we're back to a much more logical mango

So exciting all those buying baby bits and those who have had their 20 week scan- mine is next week 😬🧡

AG96 · 23/07/2022 19:08

Done a huge Primark shop today. Couldn't resist the lion king range as it was my favourite when I was little. So many cute bits, so think we're nearly done for clothing for the first few months ☺️. Also got 2 sleeping bags 2.5 tog from next which were on sale.

@Laughingmole love that cot. Looks lovely ☺️

Mommabear20 · 23/07/2022 20:00

Laying in bed just enjoying the little wriggles I can feel from baby 🥰

That’s funny - I’ve brought some stuff from that range. We are not finding out gender so it matches well colour wise, though I’m definitely struggling not knowing what they are.
roughly what time do you have a glucose tolerance test - I keep seeing differing times

StarveInn · 23/07/2022 21:05

@Seraphim87 mine is booked for 25+2

buzz91 · 23/07/2022 22:33

@Seraphim87 mines not booked till 28+1, got booked in twice for it for some reason, a day apart so got to choose. Just have to remember to call up the midwife a few weeks before to do bloods!

Jaaxe · 24/07/2022 06:44

@Seraphim87 im booked for 24weeks for it. I think I had it around that time last time too x

PinkFizz1 · 24/07/2022 08:03

Hey all, not been on this thread for a while. I’m 20+5 today and also have my scan on Tuesday (seems there are a few of us!) I’m suffering with the dreaded scanxiety already!

I really hope everything is okay 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Hopefully then I can crack on with the nursery and bigger purchases. I’m also going to ask for the whooping cough vaccine, has anyone had it yet? Any side effects?

StarveInn · 24/07/2022 08:07

@PinkFizz1 hope all goes well with your scan. I had my WC vaccine on Thursday, no side effects just a slightly sore arm, not helped by the fact I went for the left arm when I’m trying to train myself to sleep on my left side at the moment! I’d read (on here I think) that someone said they’d had a really good night’s sleep after having it, sadly didn’t work for me 😂

Jaaxe · 24/07/2022 08:08

What week are we meant to have the whooping cough guys? X

Mommabear20 · 24/07/2022 08:30

@Jaaxe the nhs website says between 16 and 32 weeks, I went for mine last week at 20+2 but was turned away as I hadn't had my 20 week scan yet 🤷‍♀️ so going back on Thursday after my scan on Tuesday.

Jaaxe · 24/07/2022 08:36

@Mommabear20 thanks for this, I’m only 17 n half weeks at the moment so I’ll leave it till after my 20 week scan too then, do you just ring and get it at the gps? X
