Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

@CP22 mine is on the 1st, seems such a long time away still!
How long do you expect the appointment to be?
Will you do your whooping cough vaccine at the same time? When I got my MW appointment last week they informed me I could do it on the same day as the scan.

tasha4eva10 · 15/07/2022 10:25

@CP22 mine is on the 12th august however I have paid for a private scan to find out the gender tomorrow!! Then I have a scan in 2 weeks at the pre term clinic and then the 20 week on the 12th so thankfully I have multiple chances to see baby and also confirm the sex 🤣.

Does anyone know what they're having yet? Through private scans, blood tests etc

LolaJ87 · 15/07/2022 10:26

I had my whooping cough jab at 17 weeks, wanted it out of the way while I had some annual leave. That night was the BEST sleep I've had in my entire pregnancy 😂

CP22 · 15/07/2022 13:45

@Gabsk92 good luck for Tuesday! It’s hard to not be nervous I think!

@Toffee2911 ah snap 😊 I hope everything goes well at yours

@Bluebonnet3 that’s reassuring that they’re doing lots of checks, and good your work are being understanding too, that definitely makes life easier

@LolaJ87 aw so pleased for you I remember how worried you have been. Re the low lying placenta I have 0 experience but I have read quite a lot about peoples moving up as time goes on. Fingers crossed for you

@Loute02 it will come around quickly I bet, the weeks seem to be going much quicker for me now compared to the early days. I’m not sure how long it will take to be honest but I know it’s quite in depth, so maybe 30 mins or so? Still need to sort my whooping cough vaccine, mine has to be booked through my docs so I must get onto it, even more so as @LolaJ87 said she had the best sleep after it, I could do with that 😂

@tasha4eva10 ahh lovely, lots of chances to see her/him then 😊. Good luck for your gender scan tomorrow, how exciting! Yes we had a scan a couple of weeks ago and we are having a boy 💙

LolaJ87 · 15/07/2022 14:09

@CP22 you're so good to remember! I try my best but with the thread moving so fast and baby brain it's hard 😂

@tasha4eva10 we are also having a boy 😄💙

Orcarain · 15/07/2022 14:22

I'm 17+3 and i don't know if it's baby movement or IBS 😂.

Also they discovered last week that I have an anterior placenta - with some people saying they don't feel anything significant until week 20. So I'm trying not to worry and putting it down to that!

JC84 · 15/07/2022 14:51

I've just moved my 20 week scan and I wasn't very popular with the lady at the women's centre 🤣
I was meant to have it 29th when I'm exactly 20 weeks but we've changed flights to 615am so had to move it, can't do it when I get back as will be 21+3 and that breaches their policy of no later than 20+6 so going to another hospital 40 miles away on 27th at 19+5!
We're having another boy 💙
Got consultant app on Monday due to previous pre-eclampsia
Having so many pains and pulls now I'm 18 weeks 😫

lifechanginglemoncake · 16/07/2022 06:52

@LolaJ87 I had a low lying placenta last time but it had moved up when they checked in one of my later scans so no problem at all.

MissC07 · 16/07/2022 07:08

Hi, I hope it's ok to join! I'm 18+2 and my 20 week scan is on the 26th!! So excited to hopefully find out what we are having. Hope everyone is managing to stay cool in this heat. Not sure how I'm going to cope commuting on Monday & Tues to work 😰

siobhanmt247 · 16/07/2022 10:00

@MissC07 welcome :) I'm a day behind you x

hopefulsunshine11 · 16/07/2022 11:18

Has anyone bought their pram early? We're going to put a deposit down on a lovely one we seen on offer. Only just over 20 weeks so not sure it's too early lol! Although wee man is measuring a few days ahead already! He's going to be long lol.

Tofu35 · 16/07/2022 12:42

@hopefulsunshine11 we're holding off buying until after the 20 week scan (27th), although have bought a wee jellycat toy which was too cute to ignore.

One of my "it's a regular baggy dress, this'll be fine for a few months" is suddenly looking very 'bumpy'. Will need to increase how much I wear it so I get my money's worth!!

Meowcat89 · 16/07/2022 14:13

We had our anatomy scan on Thursday when I was 19+6. Luckily he was in the best possible position so the sonographer could get all the measurements she needed. She didn't write down any measurements in my notes but she did say that he's bang on where he needs to be so that's good. It only took 15 mins which included me having to go empty my bladder to get some good scan photos. He was pouting in one of them and we think he might have my nose 😂 I'm just so happy everything showing as normal. I was worried because I'm on some serious meds.

Doing a gender reveal with cake to our family later today, can't wait to surprise them 😊💙

tasha4eva10 · 16/07/2022 17:36

Had my gender scan privately today at 16+2 and a gender reveal afterwards so pleased we found out we're having a girl!!!

Laughingmole · 17/07/2022 10:27

20 weeks today! Officially reached the half way point!! 💙💙

Tofu35 · 17/07/2022 10:52

Yay thread party for being halfway through @Laughingmole 💃🥳

Lovely scan photo @tasha4eva10 how did the gender reveal cake party go yesterday @Meowcat89 ?

hopefulsunshine11 · 17/07/2022 12:04

Hi everyone! I've just devoured a lemon velvet cake in a coffee shop. I am assuming this is ok. Should have check first well I tried and the girl just said it's cream cheese frosting but I am assuming as a reputable coffee shop in our home town it will be made with pasteurised eggs and cream cheese and the risk would be low if anything anyway? I am such a worry wart I know, but seen our healthy little man the other day at 20 weeks and still googling everything I do and eat!!!

TeamBluex3 · 17/07/2022 12:45

@Laughingmole i too am also 20 weeks today! 😀 we have our 20 week nhs scan on tuesday at 11, when is yours? x

TeamBluex3 · 17/07/2022 12:46

@tasha4eva10 congratulations on your little girl 😊

Laughingmole · 17/07/2022 12:48

@TeamBluex3 congrats on your half way point too! Our 20 week scan is on Wednesday afternoon! Looking forward to seeing him again 💙💙

Jaaxe · 17/07/2022 12:50

@tasha4eva10 congrats!

and congrats to everyone reaching the half point mark of 20 weeks !

I have a scan this Friday with the consultant, only 17 week one though then 20 week one in a few weeks just after we return from holiday, looking forward to it! X

Vg92 · 17/07/2022 14:20

Hi ladies,
I have another weird concern 😟
I am 20 weeks tomorrow. My boobs stopped growing and are not sore anymore. They are still relatively itchy around the nipples but definitely has not grown more over the last 2 weeks. I know usually it is the opposite and I am worried.

Mommabear20 · 17/07/2022 14:50

Will be 20 weeks on Wednesday! Can't believe how quickly it's going! Have to wait till the 26th for my scan though which is a shame as I'm desperate to find out what we're having!

stuntbubbles · 17/07/2022 15:11

@hopefulsunshine11 You don’t need to worry about cooked eggs, which is what will be in a cake, or cream cheese. I’d really advise letting your midwife know your levels of food anxiety and other worries as it’s an indicator you might be susceptible to anxiety postpartum. (Aaargh, hope that doesn’t add to your worries!)
