Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

Haha! I knew I wouldn't be alone @TeamBluex3. All these things I took for granted, like general walking about or sleeping through the night, out the window now!

Sdoubleyou · 13/07/2022 22:39

@Tofu35, I'm just finishing work and I made an effort to walk up the two flights of stairs up the metro (our equivalent of the tube) and I thought I was going to die. Before pregnancy I was doing one-hour intense spin classes 🫣. It's unreal!

So thankful for the rain this morning! Means I have an excuse to slob out on the sofa and do nothing! 😂

Had an argument with my DM yesterday about where the kids were staying when I go into hospital to have this baby! 🤦‍♀️ she had our DD when I had DS, so she'd just decided herself that she was having both this time, but I've arranged with a friend that she's gonna come stay at our house so the kids can keep their routine and have all their stuff here. DH has agreed to this as it'll be easier, and his parents will take the dogs as the 4 (2 dogs, 2 kids) would be too much for one person. Well my DM is not happy about this and kicked up a right fuss about it! Gotta love a bit of midweek family drama! 😂

HayleyBean · 14/07/2022 08:14

@Mommabear20 - yes! For the last 3 nights I've had the same dream that I'm trying to BF my baby girl and having issues producing milk. It's very weird!

@Tofu35 - I get really puffed out easily too! The last 2 days I've been getting a stitch from walking! As someone who is relatively fit I find it quite concerning 😬

LolaJ87 · 14/07/2022 10:06

@HayleyBean is the stitch on your right hand side? I ask because I had the same thing ALL last week but baby has changed position and it's stopped now. My mam (who's a retired midwife) said it's more likely to happen on your right hand side because your bladder is usually displaced to that side and pushes everything up a bit more. So weird to think of all the strange things happening in our bodies.

Tofu35 · 14/07/2022 11:13

@HayleyBean yes I'm getting a stitch too! Also if I'm overdoing it (as in, walking for more than an hour), I get right side hip/inner thigh discomfort! Presuming this is another hilarious pregnancy symptom that has me waddling back to the couch...

AG96 · 14/07/2022 11:21

@Tofu35 do your inner thighs burn? I've found myself having burning inner thighs when walking for a while, it's not chub rub either just gets so burny!

HayleyBean · 14/07/2022 12:55

@LolLolaJ87 no it's been on the left every time so far. I think it might have been where I was stomping home in the heat for the past few days

Nutella99 · 14/07/2022 14:21

How much movement can you all feel? I'm 19 weeks and I'm pretty sure I can feel movement - it feels a bit different to wind and is in the right place for baby! However I've read comments in various places of people at this stage knowing exactly what the baby is doing, e.g. rolling over, kicking etc. I wouldn't have a clue! It just feels kind of bubbly. Is that just me?

Loute02 · 14/07/2022 14:55

@Nutella99 I'd like to know as well! I'm 18w1d with my first and desperately waiting to feel some kicks! The only thing I felt so far was after sneezing I think the baby sort of turned around 😆 I feel some bubbles sometimes but having a hard time to differentiate it from my stomach wanting food 😅

AG96 · 14/07/2022 16:15

@Nutella99 @Loute02 I'm 19+3 today and have felt him for maybe a month, not very often at first. Mostly feel a fluttering sensation very low down. Recently have felt a roll or a more heavy thump. Last night I swear I could feel kicks just below my belly button from the outside but not sure 🤔. Everyone is different though. This is my first baby. Soon we'll all have the proper kicks. I can't wait 😁

Toffee2911 · 14/07/2022 16:30

@Nutella99 I am 19 weeks tomorrow and I have just started to feel movement in the past few days! It's like a popping / fluttery feeling very low down, it's lovely 😊

Jaaxe · 14/07/2022 16:54

I’m 16 weeks and don’t think I’ve felt anything yet, but worried as I felt my others really early defo by now even with an anterior placenta last time x

Chanel05 · 14/07/2022 16:59

@Nutella99 I'm 17 weeks and have been feeling definite baby movement sensations since about 14 weeks. This is my second though!

Sdoubleyou · 14/07/2022 17:11

I've been feeling since about 16 1/2 weeks (I'm 18+2) but I wasn't sure if it was that at first. It feels like little pings for me and now sometimes a rumbling that's not gas. The pings are the most noticeable, they're like muscle twitches but different. Can't wait until it gets more frequent and my DP can feel it. Putting my hands on my belly while lying down has become my new favourite activity 🥰.

I am 16 weeks 6 days and having felt anything yet, I know they say up to 24 weeks can be normal, esp for first timers, but I still can't help but worry a little!

Gender scan on Sunday, so hopefully that will put my mind at ease that everything is okay, and movement will come!

DogsAndGin · 14/07/2022 20:36

I’m 18 weeks and was suspicious of some tummy movements last week - but this week they have been really strong and unmistakable!

We can clearly see baby kicking too! Protruding right out of my tummy! I didn’t think we’d see baby for a long while yet, so it’s been a lovely surprise and has been so nice for DH to see her kicking.

It’s mainly at night, when I first lie down in bed. My nurse friend advised me to have a big gulp of ice cold water and then lie down if you want to see kicks 🤣

Laughingmole · 14/07/2022 21:38

I’m 19 + 4 now and started feeling movements about 2 weeks ago. They started off as little ‘pops’ but now I can feel rolls. It feels like when you are on a rollercoaster and your stomach dips when you drop down! I’m getting less kicks this week, so imagine he has changed position. I love feeling him move! 💙

PinkButtercups · 14/07/2022 22:36

I'm sure I felt the twins move but midwife told me I didn't 🤔. I felt DS move early on.

If it was movement it was a couple of weeks ago and not had anything in a week or so. I am worried. I have my 16 week appt on Tuesday.

Due date 31/12 but they won't let me go over 37/38 so 10-17th.

Remember that people don’t half talk shite. Like on conception boards when you get people specifying twinges in their ovaries or a tickle on their uterus instead of the vague “somewhere in the jumble of organs inside” the rest of us get. Until the baby is bigger and you can see from the outside to identify lumps as bum, elbow – my very skinny friend had twins and could identify feet! – none of us have a clue if the baby is rolling over.

I’m 16 weeks and can’t tell if I’m feeling flutters or gas. I know you’re “supposed” to feel earlier with a second baby but my placenta’s at the front, so who knows.

CP22 · 15/07/2022 08:26

Happy Friday!
I was dreaming about Oreo milkshakes last night so the first thing I did at 6am was Google the nearest milkshake shop 🤣 must get one at the weekend!

When is everyone’s 20 week scans? I imagine they will be starting soon (mine is 26th) so best wishes to you all ❤️

GabsK92 · 15/07/2022 09:12

@CP22 mines on Tuesday. I am due 1st so it’s actually a week late. Am so nervous and have no idea what to expect. NIPT results were all good but I feel like I can’t relax properly until this is done! Fingers crossed for you for the 26th!

Toffee2911 · 15/07/2022 09:25

@CP22 My 20 week scan is on the 26th too! 😊

LolaJ87 · 15/07/2022 09:33

I had another early anatomy scan yesterday (I'm 19+2) and baby is well on track! He's bang average for all his measurements (except his head which is in the 75th percentile 😂). Such a relief after all my worries to see him bouncing about and initially refusing to stay still for measurements. Like last time there were no issues identified and no call for an amniocentesis. The scan was SO detailed I even got to see his upper lip!

My official 20 week scan is at 21 weeks - that's on the 27th. My husband missed the one yesterday because he is getting over Covid so he'll be glad of the chance to see everything.

The only thing is that I have a low-lying placenta. The doctor said that in most cases this sorts itself out by 28 weeks as it can move up as the baby grows. I'll need another scan at my 28 week visit to check the placement then. Those of you who have had babies before, have you had any experience of this?

Bluebonnet3 · 15/07/2022 09:49

Hi all, I'm 17+2 today and feeling pretty good. I had a scan to measure the length of my cervix earlier this week. Apparently if you have a short cervix (<25mm?) you are more likely to go into labour early. Mine isn't short, so at least that's one less thing to worry about, but they do want me to come in for a repeat cervical-length scan in three weeks.

I don't remember which particular risk factor suggested I needed this, but in general as I'm 43, have no functioning thyroid, and am just over the 30 bmi range, that puts me in several increased risk categories (and this is my first and an ivf pregnancy). Anyway, I'm ok if they want to do more checks. My work is being pretty good so far about giving me time off.
