@Beanniebaby22 next week I’ve got a hen do in Marbella, which I organised pre-pregnancy. Little bit nervous but actually looking forward to air conditioning and constant access to a pool! It will be better than my sweaty hot classroom.

Also booked a ‘babymoon’ beginning of August through Tui. We called them up today and they were more than helpful ensuring I had a aisle seat with extra leg room and priority boarding. Just going to get myself some compression socks and make sure I’m up and moving as much as I can.

Circe22 · 12/07/2022 19:41

@Beanniebaby22 I went to Croatia the week before last - it was pretty hot , in the 30s - and it was fine. I found making sure you have cold (ideally ice cold) water to hand really helped, plus lots of jumping into the pool / sea when you feel yourselves starting to heat up. And having periods in the shade. Definitely my skin was more prone to burning so go up a factor to what your used to!

Dontbeaneejit · 12/07/2022 20:05

Being next to a pool with a cold drink sounds amazing. Spent all day in a very stuffy reception class today with very tired grouchy children. Cannot wait til next week!

Also, anyone struggling with nosebleeds? I literally only ever get them when pregnant but the last couple of days they've been lasting longer and been heavier. Wondering if the hot weather is making them worse. They're getting very irritating!

NotAdultingToday · 12/07/2022 20:22

Welcome @KDerbs 😊 would you like yo be added to the due date list? Sorry to hear you have covid and in this heat! Make sure you take it easy.

God @TFMinx and @BabyBird20 i dont know how you teach at the best of times let alone pregnant!

@Cocobeau im glad you felt movements too! Its such a lovely feeling. That must be really hard, i know its not quite the same but share it with us its lovely to share in everyones news/special moments.

Oh id love to be by a pool with a cold drink! Or
a cold country with snow at this point 😂

I have a few blood clumps coming out of my nose but no nose bleeds. That must be driving you mad!

@Circe22 @smiles39 @Dontbeaneejit thanks! Have got compression socks. Hopefully I can bag an aisle seat haven’t been able to pick our seats yet.

Im worried about getting sun stroke or food poisoning 😅 will just have to be extra careful.

TFMinx · 12/07/2022 21:03

Eight days to go and I'm counting down every hour. Teach reception whilst pregnant and in the heat is definitely a challenge!

TFMinx · 12/07/2022 21:03

*Teaching reception

KDerbs · 12/07/2022 21:11

Thank you @Bramblecrumble21 and @roobearbaby that has made me feel much better! :) Hope both your pregnancies are going well!

Yes please @NotAdultingToday It’s lovely to be part of this feed :)

@Beanniebaby22 I went to Greece last week sadly I think it’s were I’ve picked up covid but it was lovely! The pool was a god sent taking the weight of my bump ❤️.

Hope everyone is just about coping in this heat.

x.

smiles39 · 12/07/2022 21:15

@Beanniebaby22 I’ve got a massive sun hat from Primark for £3 and planning on shade bathing the whole time.

Beanniebaby22 · 12/07/2022 21:20

@smiles39 definitely a good idea! I would normally be a sunbather but I don’t think I could stick it this holiday lol 😅

Bramblecrumble21 · 13/07/2022 05:38

No nose bleeds, but my work still asks us to do regular covid testing and I got a bloody swab yesterday. No hot holiday planned, but as I'm awake early, I may try to blow up and fill the pool. Got to switch the hosepipe though. I haven't fancied alcohol before this pregnancy but in the heat, I'd love a gin and tonic.

This thread is a really nice thread to be a part of knowing there others who are in the same position 😊

I would definitely recommend compression socks if you can get them they are worth it!

I might take ds1 swimming this weekend just to have so respite! I have had the aircon full blast i the car im torn between how much petrol costs but the relief is amazing.

Did anyone put bottles of water in the freezer to take to school when they were younger? I have done that this morning its a nice drink and nice to put on me neck too!

Hi everyone just catching up with messages as not been on in a while.

@KDerbs I’ve had covid whilst pregnant, I think like @Bramblecrumble21 said it’s more dangerous in the first and third trimester (first because of temperature and third for mum because of lung space or something) but I know from my experience it can be a worrying time and hope you feel better soon!

I’ve had some nose bleeds, sickness has returned, along with generally feeling shattered.

Had my 20 week scan now and baby is growing well, lovely to feel them kicking away.

Thinking of booking 4d scan around 28 weeks - anyone else booking one?

@NotAdultingToday im with you on the heat, would love to be in a snowy climate right now lol

Still trying to decide if to treat ourselves to a new pram or stick with our old one which realistically there is nothing wrong with, so whether to be extravagant or not lol. Saved a lot on clothes so far so trying to justify it as have fallen in love with one

greenerfingers · 14/07/2022 05:21

Hello all, mind if i join?

I tend not to join boards till I get further on in pregnancy. Don't tend to like getting too excited due to a previous loss.

@Beanniebaby22 I travelled 16 hours in my first trimester, the sickness on the return was difficult. I wore compression socks, walked constantly on the aisles and tried to stay as hydrated as possible while out there (34 degree heat). In my second trimester at 21 weeks I travelled 5 hours away, walked a lot and had a far better experience travelling than my first (probably because my sickness had past). It was hot then too, again 30's and I was perfectly fine, sometimes I got shortness of breath when eating and would go back indoors to some air con or a quick sit down but was fine after a bit. Perhaps have travel insurance just in case you ever feel the need for a check up. (This travelling pregnancy wasn't related to my loss)

I'm due end of November/ early December and have started to feel babys movements stronger now and have started to get really excited Smile. It suddenly feels real. Have my 20 week scan next week too.

greenerfingers · 14/07/2022 05:22

I'm due on the 28th Nov

flowergarden16 · 14/07/2022 14:44

Hi all. I'm due mid November. At my 20 week scan it showed I had an anterior right placenta covering my cervix. I am booked to go for another scan at 28 weeks to see if it's moved. Other than that was told if I have bleeding to go to hospital.

Has anyone else had this? I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks and it's scaring me!

Bramblecrumble21 · 14/07/2022 15:24

@flowergarden16. I had that for my first, it moved up, I think over 90% move.

flowergarden16 · 14/07/2022 15:31

Thanks @Bramblecrumble21 - sorry to ask but did you get any bleeding? Getting a bit scared

sarahj878 · 14/07/2022 15:44

@flowergarden16 I had it with my previous pregnancy and did have some bleeding. Early on with this pregnancy they thought my placenta was covering my cervix but it has moved and I have had bleeding this pregnancy too which was thought in part to be to do with that. Try not to worry but speak to your midwife about your concerns x

flowergarden16 · 14/07/2022 15:56

Thanks @sarahj878 I'm not seeing her for another six weeks now! Typical.

Was it heavy bleeding and did you go in to hospital? I will just take my notes with me and make sure I know where the hospital is x

Otterses · 14/07/2022 17:08

Going to spend my journey home catching up with this ☺️

It’s not been the best few weeks, and I’m feeling quite down about pregnancy in general at the moment. We’ve found out that I’m carrying another child with a partial genetic deletion (DS has the same but only found out last year due to an unrelated issue). So just generally feeling a big crap about the risk to baby, it involves my placenta not functioning properly, words like failure to thrive have been thrown about, risk of stillbirth is now 1/5 and unlikely to go into labour naturally and have a failed induction so waiting for a c-section date for 36 weeks. I just feel a bit helpless to be honest that there is nothing I can do to improve the situation at all and it’s hard to get any enthusiasm together for anything. I’m up and down at work, and I just feel I have nothing to give emotionally to the people I’m working with at the moment and going back and forth on seeing if a GP would sign me off but feel a bit pathetic about it. I’ve only got till 29 weeks left so feel I should just be toughing it out.

I’ve been avoiding telling anyone about it so sorry for word vomiting 😩 I think my efforts to downplay it probably aren’t helping.

Hope everyone is doing okay.

sarahj878 · 14/07/2022 19:10

@Otterses I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through and hope your pregnancy runs as smoothly as possible. There’s absolutely no shame in not going into work when you feel like this xx

sarahj878 · 14/07/2022 19:10

@flowergarden16 I’ve had varying bleeds in both pregnancy’s but always gone to hospital to get checked out each time. Have you had some bleeding?

flowergarden16 · 14/07/2022 19:27

@sarahj878 no bleeding yet. I think there is a 66% chance of bleeding with previa, so I guess it's a waiting game to see what happens

Will defo go straight to the hospital if it starts x
