@Bramblecrumble21 thats good to hear. I really wanted a branded pram this time so i am excited to pick it up!

I have a different season baby too which is ok for baby grows but i need to sleeping bags too. I got a pramsuit but need to get another one. And all the "my first christmas" stuff i kept from ds1 will be to big so ill have to buy more such a shame 😂

Ooo @ALittleBitofVitriol thats handy having those things given to you its all helps!

There seems to be baby clothes sales everywhere i have to reign myself in or ill have too many clothes.
I got a wrap sling (if that makes sense) hardly used off of facebook market place for £5 im very chuffed with that deal!

I wouldnt say my bump has popped its bigger but i just look fat 😂 as the day goes on it gets more bump shaped and then i do look pregnant which is nice.
I think im feeling very light little movements, its awful but i cant remember what it feels like so unsure. I do feel something stronger when i have eaten or had some sugar like hes waking up 😂

My wrap sling is hardly used as it was far too hot to baby carry with my first, maybe this time.

Beanniebaby22 · 06/07/2022 21:38

@NotAdultingToday @roobearbaby @Bramblecrumble21 so funny how eating wakes them up! It’s like yayyy feeding time! 💃🏽 Lol. They must get a little blood sugar boost.

Im still patiently waiting for my B belly to turn into a nice D shape so I look pregnant instead of just fat 😅

tb4122 · 07/07/2022 11:48

I starting to look like I have a little bump, rather than just looking/feeling chubby. I was really self conscious for a few weeks with people mentioning my bump as I felt it was actually just my fat that had moved up a bit!

We had our 20 week scan yesterday and baby appears to be all fine and is a boy! Placenta is a little low so they want to scan me again at 32 weeks to check whether it has moved, it seems that most of them do move up.

Cocobeau · 07/07/2022 12:01

I have a bump but it's really high and to be honest, I think unless you know I'm pregnant there is a chance you might just think I drink too much and have a beer gut. I actually find myself rubbing my bump in certain circumstances I think as a subconscious way of say "there's a baby in there" to anyone looking at me.

Still no movements. I know it's because of my anterior placenta and it will happen but I just really want to feel it so much, and for husband to be able to.

I'm having a total meltdown trying to find maternity clothes that fit or don't cost a fortune. It doesn't help that I'm really short as it limits options so much.

Circe22 · 07/07/2022 16:46

Hey everyone!!

I’ve been quiet at had a high PI artery resistance reading at my 20 week scan and panicked a bit. Anyway had a private scan today , 2 weeks later and everything is now looking normal so feeling like I can relax and enjoy it.

Having a little girl!

has anyones belly button started looking like more of an outie than an innie? Happening to me now at one side and wondering how much more it’ll pop out ( kind hope not much 😂)

lovely to have this thread and hear how your all doing ❤️

smiles39 · 07/07/2022 22:33

My bump has also popped out in last 2 weeks. Students at school are definitely now staring at my belly trying to suss out if I’m teaching them next year haha. No one is brave enough to ask me yet though.

Movements have gone from ‘not sure if that was the baby or gas’ to ‘Omg I can see their kicks when I stare at my belly’ in last 2/3 weeks. So amazing!

I’m proud of myself so far, I visit the baby sections everytime I go clothes shopping but have only bought one item because it was covered in turtles. Trying to wait to see what I get at baby shower and from hand-me-downs first. Otherwise I’d be uncontrollable. We’ve got a Cybex travel system with car seat ordered and arriving beginning Sept.

Beanniebaby22 · 07/07/2022 22:34

@tb4122 congrats on your boy! 💙@Circe22 congrats on your girl! 💗Yes my belly button is starting to push out the way a little bit.
@Cocobeau totally with you on the rubbing your bump so people know it’s baby and not fat lol. I do it all the time now even when I’m on my own.

Beanniebaby22 · 07/07/2022 22:36

@smiles39 oh you’ve got amazing self control lol. We got our travel system tonight I’m really pleased with it 😊

smiles39 · 07/07/2022 22:54

@Beanniebaby22 I started off with so many good intentions on keeping costs down, but have failed on so many levels with travel system and nursery furniture 🤦🏼‍♀️ Got to save the pennies somewhere. Chances are in a months time I’ll go overboard with clothes to make up for lost time!

Bramblecrumble21 · 08/07/2022 17:29

@Circe22 that's reassuring and good to know as I'm booked into another scan in August for the same reason. I will resist a private scan, and trust my body, can feel baby growing bigger and stronger, think positive, new measurement, no other risks of pre-eclampsia 1st baby grew well.

I'm not keen on shopping, but to get myself excited I sometimes look through the baby section but it usually has the opposite effect and makes me anxious about having a newborn.

I have ordered a new mattress along with school uniform for my daughter starting reception in September. Anyone else got a child starting reception? I'm really looking forward to maternity leave and walking her to and back from school. I enjoyed buggy walks when she was a baby.

Cocobeau · 08/07/2022 19:10

for those in a buying mood. You can get a good little freebie on Amazon. You have to set up a baby wish list then purchase £20 worth of qualifying products (think it just has to be baby stuff sold and fulfilled by Amazon, not another retailer) then you can choose one of about 6 things to add as a freebie. I spent £21 on a baby bath support (had 25% off) and a bottle of Johnson’s baby wash and got a Tommy Tippee nappy bin for free. That’s currently listed at a reduced price of £22 so I feel like I got a right bargain as they are all Things I would have bought anyway.

NotAdultingToday · 11/07/2022 09:20

Morning everyone i hope you all had a good weekend!
Im hot and cranky 😂 i dont like the heat normally let alone when 5 months pregnant.

I picked up my silver cross pram yesterday and im in love with it, its in great condition.
Slight set back the frame only just fits in my car (a mini) and ill either have to evict husband or ds1 or they have to have the carry cot on their laps 😂 and we cant go on any holidays unless we leave the pram. But it will be fine its so pretty and i wont be able to drive for about six weeks anyway so we will make it work.

Im pretty sure i felt a proper kick for the first time on saturday feels like he is doing somersaults! I cant wait for when husband and ds1 can feel it too.

I did look at the amazon list at the beginning but thought it was too early, i might have another look.

My ds will be in year 1 in September and im looking forward to it too 😊 i loved buggy walks especially when he fell asleep and i could day dream.

Aww lovely about the kicks @NotAdultingToday ! And the pram! 😄😄

This little boy is a wriggly one, kicking a lot! Dh thinks he may have felt one the other day but not sure. I mentioned him kicking today and my (almost) 12 year old was like, whoa, does it hurt? 🥰 I think it became much more real for him all at once!

I finally bought some maternity clothes, it feels sooooo much better to wear pants that fit!

roobearbaby · 11/07/2022 11:44

Awww yay to you feeling proper kicks!

I too am hot and cranky. I don't like the heat normally either and I just feel like a useless sweaty blob at the moment!

Bramblecrumble21 · 11/07/2022 12:16

I'm hiding from the heat and my DD has a vomiting bug. I'm exhausted. And bored being at home. Im hungry, partly boredom and hiding eating from my DD as she loves her food but is on a plain diet. At least I don't need to go out for anything. I'm really sleepy with the heat.

I read about vinted on a Facebook group and have just ordered some second hand baby clothes for £3.50. a few vests, one outfit and some vest extenders. I used reusable nappies last time and didn't use them with vests. But they got a bit stretched and I read that they can make leaks less likely.

Beanniebaby22 · 11/07/2022 18:02

Heat is killing me also 🥵 could hardly sleep last night and had a fan on and no bed sheets.
Kicks are getting stronger, feels more like something rolling over inside my belly now which I suppose is exactly what he’s doing lol. Such a weird sensation it’s kind of like when you’re in the car and go down a big dip in the road and your tummy does a flip lol 😅

TFMinx · 11/07/2022 20:21

The heat, good lord the heat! My classroom is like a sauna, I have 30 reception children cooped up because it's too hot outside and they're all mentally done with school for this year already, and to top it off I have a pompholyx flare up on my feet - the itching is unbearable!

BabyBird20 · 11/07/2022 20:23

I totally feel your pain @TFMinx ! I did supply in a reception classroom today with one full wall of windows in direct sunlight.... it was like being in a greenhouse! I was say as still as possible and still bright red in the face and sweating buckets!! Hideous! The next couple of months are going to be a challenge!

TFMinx · 11/07/2022 22:44

9 days left and I can sit in cool baths all day everyday if I so wish. It's going to be a slog to get there though!

Cocobeau · 12/07/2022 10:59

I feel for those of you who are suffering in the weather. The heat isn't really bothering me as long as I don't have to slog away too much in it but that would be the same pre-pregnancy. I am struggling to stay hydrated though, I always feel thirsty.

Finally had my longed for movement over the weekend and I know this was absolutely baby moving as we could see my tummy moving too. Such a lovely thing to experience.

I will admit, I'm finding it a little hard as other than my husband, I don't really have anyone I can share my special moments with. My parents aren't here anymore and I don't have any especially close friends/family members. After that moment on Saturday I really wanted to call up my Dad and tell him, then remembered I couldn't. In-laws are fine, it's just not the same as your own family.

KDerbs · 12/07/2022 12:31

Hi All,

Just stumbled across this thread and wanted to pop in and say hello :)

I am due 2nd of November with our little IVF miracle baby! <3

Sadly I've just got a positive covid test :( all vacc'd up but doesn't stop the panicking, just wondered if anyone else has has covid whilst pregnant ?

This midwifes don't seem concerned but my anxiety still doesn't listen 😅

Thankss :) x

Bramblecrumble21 · 12/07/2022 12:45

Welcome kderbs. I had covid at 10 weeks, plus two other illnesses throughout my pregnancy with a raised temperature and everything is fine so far. I think the second trimester is safer than the 3rd and first for illness as the baby is fully developed. And they may have antibodies when they're born.

roobearbaby · 12/07/2022 17:15

@kderbs I had COVID at 19 weeks. Felt crap the first 3 days and then fine after.

Had my 20 week scan after and everything looks perfect

Beanniebaby22 · 12/07/2022 18:20

Has anyone gone on a long haul flight/ visited a hot country whilst pregnant? I’m heading away next week (was booked before I knew I was expecting) and feeling a bit nervous about it.
