@KDerbs I phoned my midwife and asked for mine after my 20 week scan, as I’m not due to see her until 28 weeks and she knew my plan was to go on annual leave from 30-34 weeks and start my maternity leave then ☺️

Kathno4 · 26/07/2022 15:46

How’s everyone doing? 25.5 with a crazy baby. Some days still feeling as rough as I did at the beginning, other days I get energy bursts and live for them. Feeling lazy this time around as last time I was walking over 7 miles a day 5 days a week, now I’m lucky if I total it all week 🙈 consultants appt next weds at 27 weeks, along with bloods and hopefully another scan ♥️ Anyone else feeling like they’re nesting. I keep worrying I’m not ready 🥴

ALittleBitofVitriol · 26/07/2022 22:12

Yes I feel very similar @Kathno4. So tired and sore, but bursts of energy! I did some big cleaning jobs and gardening the last few days and feel so much better - mentally - but a bit sore at the belly. Dh saw me scrubbing something and joked I must be nesting already! With my last baby I ended up scrubbing every piece of grout at 9 months pregnant 😂
I think this boy had a growth spurt, lots of kicking and my belly button has definitely gone flat!

Next appointment is my GTT test at 27 weeks (I'm 25 weeks) and midwife+ob appointments at 28 weeks. I've been told the GTT drink is less awful than it was the last time I did it, so yay 😄

Bramblecrumble21 · 27/07/2022 06:49

I'm feeling great in myself but bump is getting cumbersome. Any sort of twisting causes a pull. I remember this difficulty driving last time. If I want to look over my shoulder to check blind spots. Kicks getting stronger. DH finally felt them as it's a sneaky baby and moves away from his hand every other time. I showed him to touch slowly and gently and he said it felt like the movie alien, trying to pop out. It also kept moving away from the probe on our 25 week appointment this week but when we finally listed to the heat beat it was strong and everything is fine. Past two nights I've had stress dreams. One about premature birth and DH wrapping baby up too warm (this stressed me out with DD). Another about me stressing that I couldn't find school uniform for myself in maternity size or shave my legs. (DD starting reception this year).

greenerfingers · 27/07/2022 08:49

I'm starting to struggle and it's only week 22! My SPD is becoming a nuisance and a possible uti (I await my results). I'm also at risk of preterm and baby is kicking so low. Hoping the uti goes away with antibiotics so that's one less pain to deal with. If it's not a uti I'm in trouble as it then means it's an issue with my stitch and that's far more serious Sad.

Other than these couple of anxieties, I'm just impatient to meet baby but still need to organise some much 😅

roobearbaby · 27/07/2022 22:02

It's 10pm and I have just sent my husband to the shop because all I can think about is doughnuts 🤣🐷

smiles39 · 27/07/2022 22:50

If anyone else is suffering with swollen feet already, I’ve found a lifesaver! The Body Shop Peppermint cooling foot mist, it feels so good. Had to share.

sarahj878 · 28/07/2022 07:48

Lol @roobearbaby what kind did he come back with? Did they meet your requirements?

@smiles39 I’m with you on that one, it is lovely!

My husband finally felt baby kick day before yesterday and baby is wriggling so much now I’ve even caught my stomach moving on video which I never expected to be able to do at this stage of pregnancy! Seems to have a favourite kicking spot.

Novella12 · 28/07/2022 08:10

Hello all! Hope you're doing well 😊 I don't think I've been on this thread, pregnancy seems to be flying by (sometimes...!)

Been having a bit of anxiety the last few days. I normally pride myself on being a calm person but I'm finding the pressure building up - both from my manager at work constantly saying how much needs to be done before my mat leave and from myself trying to figure out everything I need to do before baby arrives. Just a bit overwhelmed I think. Is anyone else feeling like this? What are you doing to stay calm?

LittleJumpingBean · 28/07/2022 10:57

You guys I thought I was just overthinking but it does feel like I'm back to the fatigue and starting to actually feel pregnant with belly feeling heavier/adjusting how i walk or sit. Now reading yoy all I feel like we are just at this stage in pregnancy 🤣

LittleJumpingBean · 28/07/2022 11:04

Your manager can kindly fuck off 🤣 just ignore everything youre getting pressured for for work, if there is much to do they can get someone to help out.

Ive not started getting ready for the baby at all! We've not bought anything. We get this baby box in scotland from NHS so i know we will have the basics even if we haven't purchased something! I'm not sure if there is an equivalent in the rest of the UK.

What helps me to relax is knowing that worrying about problems and issues that havent yet occured is just doubling the negativity in your life! Everything will be just fine and if something comes up you will deal with it at the time :) gotta trust yourself!

Bramblecrumble21 · 28/07/2022 11:13

I've been weighing myself weekly and I only started gained weight in June and the past 3 weeks it's been a kilo a week!

Novella12 · 28/07/2022 14:53

@LittleJumpingBean that is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you 😊

TFMinx · 28/07/2022 15:23

I had my 25 week appointment today(standard with 2nd pregnancy in my area) and passed out. Apparently my blood pressure is on the floor and as I'm already on iron tablets, she thinks I'll need an infusion Sad. Good news is that baby is ok and I felt fine afterwards. 25 weeks with baby no.2

Beanniebaby22 · 28/07/2022 16:07

@TFMinx oh no that’s awful! Hope you are ok.

TFMinx · 28/07/2022 16:15

Thank you @Beanniebaby22 I was anaemic with my first so kind of expected it with this one, however not so bad I may need an infusion! Hopefully all will be well

Novella12 · 28/07/2022 17:17

Hope you're ok @TFMinx, that sounds like it must have been a bit scary!

He came back with a selection of doughnuts...I sampled one of each and was very satisfied 😂

ALittleBitofVitriol · 28/07/2022 22:11

Haha that's the way @roobearbaby !

I'm feeling sore and tired and every bit 25 weeks pregnant and 38 years old. Delicate and bruised 😄 Must do my exercise today.

@sarahj878 my dh felt this boy kicking the other day for the first time too 💙

Hope you're ok @TFMinx & they get you what you need!

You look lovely and so happy @Beanniebaby22! Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Beanniebaby22 · 28/07/2022 22:23

@ALittleBitofVitriol thank you ☺️ Trying my best to love and embrace my changing body! We have to remember it’s doing something bloody amazing growing a new human being ❤️

Novella12 · 29/07/2022 18:18

Anyone else experiencing baby having hiccups yet? It's happened twice now and is the cutest thing ever!

Ccatalina · 29/07/2022 21:05

Hey everyone,
Has anyone got covid during their pregnancy?

Im 24 weeks exactly and Ive unfortunately tested positive and its really rough ☹️

I've noticed a massive change in her movements since Tuesday. Have been to the hospital yesterday and they said her heartbeat is fine and there was no need to worry. I was so relieved by this the fact she hasnt really moved went over my head.

Im so freaked out and have read horror stories of covid babies having to be delivered at 24 something weeks.

Ive rung my maternity unit and they have booked my in again this evening to listen to her heartbeat. Ideally of course id like a scan but everyone I've spoken to seems really reluctant to give me one despite the circumstances.

I honestly feel a bit hopeless and find myself spiralling into terrible" what if" scenarios.

Any info would be appreciated so much ☹️ x

smiles39 · 29/07/2022 21:30

@Ccatalina I’ve covid at the moment too, just on the tail end of it. I got a little bit worried when baby’s movements didn’t feel as active as normal earlier on in the week. But they are fine now. I haven’t suffered with many symptoms at all, nothing like when I had it before!

Ccatalina · 29/07/2022 22:13

@smiles39
Ah okay, glad to know your baby is moving fine now and its not just me with the decreased movement..
Im super unwell with it and have been for days.
Everyone is telling me theres "no pattern of movement at 24 weeks" but I definitely feel like there is for me. They just seem to be going by heartbeat which of course I know is logical.
This is my first pregnancy after a miscarriage 2 years ago, so im just super on edge. X
