@Cocobeau 😂😂 i think if we had a spare room my husband would go too! To right who knows how long until babies sleep most of the night!

@rickandmorts i know what you mean. I said to my husband last night that i think we jinxed the world as when i was pregnant with ds it was the hottest summer in 30 years and now its the two hottest days ever 😂 sorry everyone!

I didnt feel anything big until about 22 weeks so i wouldnt worry too much. Im glad you scan went ok 😊

Thank you @NotAdultingToday.

I only started feeling proper movements now @rickandmorts and even then I've noticed they're usually late at night when I should be sleeping but have ended up working late or just can't sleep. During the day I barely feel anything at all. My first was so wiggly I began to feel early flutters at 14 weeks which is insane. By this time with him I knew his routine and would always feel him. Could just be the baby is a nighttime baby like this one of mine x

tb4122 · 19/07/2022 18:30

I'm feeling a lot of movements today. Up until now it has been a bit hit and miss (and usually only in the evening) but placenta is anterior so I expected that. Yesterday I almost called the day assessment unit because I hardly felt anything at all but today he's been wriggling and kicking all day. I guess perhaps he's getting big enough to be felt despite the anterior placenta now.

rickandmorts · 19/07/2022 20:22

So this heat is your fault @NotAdultingToday 🥵🤣.

But thank you all, I feel a bit better! I think I have felt some tiny movements but I thought they were just gas but thinking now they might be kicks 🙈

greenerfingers · 20/07/2022 09:12

Is anyone else at the impatient stage 🙈. I'm so impatient and it's only 20 weeks. Don't know how I will cope with the next 20. I definitely wasn't like this the last time. I've even tried to keep myself busy and have so much to sort out but am still so impatient.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 20/07/2022 09:39

Yes I'm starting to feel impatient too @greenerfingers , 16 weeks to go and I'm so looking forward to bringing this wriggly boy home! I also feel kicks more at night.

Feb85 · 20/07/2022 10:33

Hi all so i am 24 + 6. It’s lovely to read so many are starting to feel lots of movement I have a high anterior placenta so not feeling a huge amount yet which can be very worrying at times but some days i do feel a little bit and she lets me know she’s there which I absolutely love.
So I have had a cold nearly two weeks ago but have been left with a horrible dry tickly nighttime cough which my midwife has said won’t harm the baby which I was terrified off as I felt like I am choking at times, I have done LFTS repeatedly and thankfully negative however I have had to cancel my whooping cough vaccination twice now and am afraid of leaving it to late if this cough continues just wondered has anyone had the vaccination after having a cold or with a cough and any tips on getting rid of a frustrating cough I have tried the honey & lemon but not much benefits yet. They also mentioned a cough bottle Simple Linctus but from reading some mixed reviews I am not sure about it.

Kind of posting so that I don't keep losing this this thread...but was curious to if anyone else is having issues side sleeping, my hips are getting sore! I trained myself to sleep on my back not too long ago, annoyingly! The only relief I've found is sleeping on top of a pregnancy pillow, with a body pillow next to me to hug my arms and knees around, and a pillow behind my sacrum. I'm taking up most of the bed- good thing we've got a superking! Anyone elses' hips burning?!

Ccatalina · 20/07/2022 21:45

@KatieP8
YES! I am with you on hip pain.
my hips feel bruised and achey. ☹️

Ive been putting off buying a pregnancy pillow and making do, do you reckon they are worth it?

I sleep half on my back/ half on my side kind of balancing on one bottom cheek with my torso facing the ceiling. pillows stuffed underneath my lower back for support , one wedged under my bump and one between my legs.It definitely helps but I find that rearranging this little set up to my othet side in the middle of the night tiring!

x

Ccatalina · 20/07/2022 21:54

@Feb85
sorry you have had such a long cold!
honey and fresh ginger in warm water helps me a lot with a sore tickly throat. Sorry I cant offer anything else ☹️ X

Feb85 · 20/07/2022 22:53

@Ccatalina thank you for your reply I hadn’t taught to try the fresh ginger so will definitely give that a go x

roobearbaby · 21/07/2022 06:46

@ccatalina I personally really recommend a pregnancy pillow. I was waking up every morning in absolute agony with my hips and since using one it has almost gone. I just wake up with an uncomfortable feeling rather than pain!

sarahj878 · 23/07/2022 20:00

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Has anyone bought a maternity swimsuit yet? I’m really struggling to find one that fits my boobs (30FF) and doesn’t cost the earth as will only wear it a few times! Any suggestions would be very welcome, thanks 😊

Ccatalina · 23/07/2022 20:16

@sarahj878

I got my swimsuit from amazon. It was around £35. ASOS do some nice ones if you want something a bit prettier! X

Bramblecrumble21 · 24/07/2022 11:00

Morning all. I'm 25 weeks today. I've generally felt great in my pregnancy past month or two. I felt fatigued and had naps the past two days and couldn't remember when I last took and vitamins. So, as I also had mild leg cramps this week when it cooled down at night, I have been taking iron containing vitamins for the past 3 days. Tommorrow is my 25 week appointment. Anyone know if they normally take bloods then?

I'm meeting my midwife, as the midwife at the first appointment was due to leave. I have a whole list of things to discuss this time. I need mat b, and I'll ask about whooping cough vaccine. I've had some thoughts on birth and will ask about the home birth provision. I'm a little nervous about post natal ward due to my first experience there. It could be great if I went to the labour ward, then discharged asap after birth, except that it's a 40 minute drive and my mum who we'd like to stay while in hospital has a 4 hour train journey (shed drive in an emergency) to hours. Other options are possible for childcare but we've not got loads. It would be a amazing if I could give birth in the night at home while daughter is sleeping, but uncomfortable about emergency care.

Beanniebaby22 · 24/07/2022 13:53

@sarahj878 I bought some maternity tankinis off Amazon. Sizing was tricky as I have a large bust aswell. The ones I got are a bit tight round the boobs and massive round my belly lol, but they will do the job.

Feb85 · 24/07/2022 13:55

Hi @Bramblecrumble21 I had my 24week appointment last week and no they didn’t do bloods they done routine BP, urine , listened to baby’s heartbeat 😊 and checked position of uterus with her hands. Answered any questions I had and gave MatB1 form. I have my next appointment at 28weeks when I think from my notes they do bloods.

sarahj878 · 24/07/2022 16:55

Thank you @Beanniebaby22 and @Ccatalina. Ironically I’ve been unsuccessful at shopping for a swimsuit this weekend but managed to get a complete bargain on a Seraphine coat. Have got a few swimsuit options now tho so fingers crossed one of them will fit!

Has anyone who has had a c section previously or is having a c section had any thoughts on baby wearing? I wasn’t able to with my son due to him being breech and needing hip scans but would like to this time. I’m just overthinking if it will be comfortable to do so or impact my scar recovery at all. I’ve got a BabyBjorn one which I’m thinking the band will sit too low for me on but husband will probably use and a soft fabric one which I’m thinking may be a better option for me.

LittleJumpingBean · 24/07/2022 16:55

Hi everyone! I'm 24+5 and DD 8th November. First baby so everything is super new, exciting and scary.

Had a flu 2 weeks ago which was absolutely horrible but I have recovered now. Didn't quite feel the baby move in the past few days (very faint movements once or twice a day maybe compared to constant kicks beforehand) so ended up going to the hospital for a check up this morning and all is good.

adding my DD to the list!

FishyBaby · 24/07/2022 17:26

@LittleJumpingBean Glad to hear that baby is all ok despite the reduced movements. I had a panic last night not being able to remember when my girl last moved and ended up on the delivery suite for a check and although she didn't start moving, they did say that she sounded fine and I could come back if she still wasn't moving today. She's been more active today but the kicks are in different places and at different times to what I'm used to, so must just be a change of routine!

smiles39 · 25/07/2022 15:02

@sarahj878 I had the swimsuit dilemma recently. All the new swimwear I bought in January now doesn’t fit, just got back from a weekend away in Marbella (bloody sober hen do, yay, add in the fact that I was the MOH organising it all, double yay). I didn’t want to spend loads on maternity swimwear either, did splash out a little on a Boux Avenue bikini, but other two I bought were both non-maternity from accessorize (£6 each in the sale). I went two sizes up, but with swimsuit I should have gone up 3 sizes as not sure it will continue to stretch anymore over the bump, eek.

KDerbs · 25/07/2022 15:42

Hi all :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Just wondering if anyone has picked up there MatB form yet?

If so how did you get it ? Was it from your midwife?

Thanks :) x

Feb85 · 25/07/2022 15:49

Hi @KDerbs yes I got mine from the midwife at my 24week appointment. I think you can also get it from your GP. x

KDerbs · 25/07/2022 19:54

@Feb85 amazing thank you for letting me know :) x

smiles39 · 25/07/2022 21:02

@KDerbs I asked for mine at 20 week scan, they said I need to get it from my midwife at 25 week appointment. But I needed it before school broke up for summer so I could get it to HR in time. So I asked my midwife and she filled it out for me to pick up at 21 weeks.

Apparently though they don’t usually like giving it before 25 week appointment as it’s an incentive for women to attend that appointment.
