@laurenGame wonderful. Glad things are getting a bit easier for you all. We don’t realise how lucky we are in the uk sometimes. Our midwife / health visitor visits us.

beansprout55 · 30/07/2022 07:49

Urgh. Why don't they warn you? Why don't they tell you not to do heavy lifting etc?

I lifted a baby bath of water last night and very quickly prolapse symptoms emerged, 5 weeks post birth - I can feel the prolapse constantly, worse when walking, and I can even see the bulge at the entrance of my downstairs.
Absolutely gutted.

Anyone else got one from a previous birth or this time round that can reassure me? Totally distraught. Phoning physio when they open and suppose I'll need referral to a gynae.

@EarlGreywithLemon so glad I got the kegal8 so I was prepared for this!

Prema112 · 01/08/2022 21:07

@Clomid1 I was going to ask you if you had the tongue tie done. I did too, not sure I've seen much difference with feeding either... Maybe a bit, as he now feeds to sleep which he'd never do before.

@beansprout55 So sorry to hear, that sucks. Hope you've been able to see someone

We're in Cornwall at the moment, keeping baby out of the sun is so tricky!

Vimto1991 · 01/08/2022 22:52

@beansprout55 oh no! Hope you’re being sorted! I know what you mean, it’s been 8 weeks tomorrow but I’m still sore from c section and pushed myself too hard. 😫

DD has a tongue tie appointment tomorrow, and her first jabs Wednesday. Poor mite. Such a horrid week for her! DH goes to Spain Friday, so I am hoping she feels better by then!

Vimto1991 · 01/08/2022 23:41

@GrowBabyGrow the proteins are similar in other milks so not recommended to try them as they may still react, also soya! I’ve had to cut out all from my diet as I combi feed whilst DD is on SMA Alfamino.

also so glad it’s not just my baby that honks… no idea if it’s a normal baby noise or reflux at this point 🤦‍♀️

laurenGame · 02/08/2022 17:22

@beansprout55 hope you're okay , I don't know what the symptoms are ?
I did have a good look at my private bits and my vagi** opening is much wider 😫
Five weeks and still haven't had sex. Dreading it - the pain and in case I'm feeling very loose. 😟
Have you made app for the psysio ? It will get better X

beansprout55 · 02/08/2022 20:15

@laurenGame I have an appointment with one tomorrow, albeit not a specialist, and then seeing my GP on Thursday to show him.
I did my kegals religiously before and after birth, and I'm not and never have been overweight

  • so shocked this happened.
Initially could feel a soft lump on my vaginal wall when using my finger, I could press it in a bit. Now i can see it a little upon inspection and can feel a dragging heaviness when I'm active.

My opening is much wider too. And I'm scared of sex as it's been so upsetting so far. Wondering if I'll ever tighten back up if I'm still like this 6 weeks PP??
It's my first baby too so I've no idea. Wish I had a c section now and deffo will be for my second.

sunflower198 · 13/08/2022 12:58

Has anyones baby had thrush in their mouth?
I think we've got it, he's not fussed by it - nhs website says we have to contact gp as he's under 4 months.
Does it go by its self? Or do I need to try and book a gp appt?

Bango2019 · 13/08/2022 13:39

@sunflower198 we have a thrush. Had it for about a month and I thought it will go away by itself but it did not. So, we have seen gp this Wednesday as an 8 week check up and dr prescribed oral suspension called Nystan that we have to take 4 times a day during 7 days. I would advise you to contact your gp as it will not go away without medication apparently.

sunflower198 · 13/08/2022 13:48

Thanks @Bango2019 I will try and get an appt on Monday!

Bango2019 · 13/08/2022 14:12

@sunflower198 no worries:)

Letsbekindplease · 24/08/2022 08:18

Hey everyone. How are everyone and your gorgeous babies?

it baffles me that we’re at 10 weeks old now!!!

our little girl has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks. Only if she’s swaddled! If she’s not swaddled then she wakes herself up and we go downstairs around 2/3am. I’m not sure how long this will last and consider myself VERY LUCKY

she takes anywhere from 5oz to 7oz every feed. Still find it impossible to get a burp from her sometimes which then leads to her bringing up her milk.

she’s just a happy content baby where as at the very start she seemed so colicky and unsettled.

im feeling good too. Although I’ve just had my first period since baby and I have very heavy bleeding. Very heavy. And I have been bleeding for nearly a week now. Probably heavy bleeding since Sunday/Monday. The gp said this is normal but I’m not too sure. I will leave it a couple more days and see how it goes.

how are you all.

PleaseSendNoodles · 24/08/2022 13:07

Hi @Letsbekindplease ! I just popped back onto the thread for the first time in ages. I’m mostly been sticking to the Facebook group because it’s easier to keep track, I think.

Sounds like you and babe are both doing well! Well done. Great that she’s sleeping so well. My little one is, too - but like you, I’m not taking it for granted! I only have to replace a dummy once or twice a night 😂

How are naps going? We’re only just starting to figure out a pattern now.

Poor you with the really heavy period though! Hope it eases off soon. Maybe it’s just because it’s the first one?! I hope so. Def go back to the doc if it’s not better soon.

I’m doing well now. I’m finally enjoying being a mum after feeling like I was just clinging on for dear life the first few weeks. I’ve been having counselling for birth trauma and it’s really helped. I’d 100% encourage anyone else who’s found parts of this process hard to do the same! ❤️

Oh and my husband who’s been deployed since early December is coming home soon! Finally!

laurenGame · 24/08/2022 16:50

Hi @Letsbekindplease and everyone, I still check back on this thread sometimes, it's so bittersweet how it was the busiest thread at times, I was on here allll the time, checking for updates and being so excited about the pregnancy Grin

Glad to hear you're doing well. What a dream to have a baby to sleep through the night - and so early! 🤩 My little one is 8 weeks and wakes up 2-3 times a night plus hates naps so it's a daily battle, but I'm enjoying it as much as I can and trying to stay positiveSmile No family help nearby makes it trickier to get a break, but I'm soaking up the day with my little boy no matter how tired I am.

I've started exercising and healed really well, it's amazing how back to normal everything is, it's like pregnancy never happened. That still will not convince me to have a second 😂 xx

beansprout55 · 24/08/2022 17:50

@laurenGame Im SO thrilled to hear you're doing so well! Really felt for you a few weeks back. Sounds like you've really turned a corner and so pleased you've healed up nicely! Admire you for getting back to exercise. Our babies are both 8 weeks and my boy wakes up 2/3 times a night minimum and is a pain to get to nap on my terms! You're not alone!xxx

@PleaseSendNoodles I'm keen for counselling too after mine, I'm so glad it's helped you. Did you have a debrief from the hospital? I've heard that might help to understand why things happened the way they did etc, so I'm thinking about doing it. 8 weeks on and I keep going over and over things!!

@Letsbekindplease I've been warned my first period might be the heaviest I've ever had! I've recently started having pink cm (didn't think I'd be typing those words again - like the old days of TTC 😂) anyway, hope it settles down soon for you x

Henry doesn't sleep well still and he screams half way through bottle feeds, but the first half he takes so well (I'm warning him onto formula as I'm back at work full time soon). No idea why. It's tiring.

I have a prolapse, posterior (rectocele), if anyones familiar with it. 8 weeks on I still can't feel sex - quite numb inside or I'm just really loose, despite seeing physio for kegals. It's making me a little depressed tbh, that might sound so silly as I know I should be grateful that I have a healthy baby and not care so much about these things, but it really gets me down thinking my sex life is probably over at the age of 30.

Anyway, so glad to hear you 3 are doing well. I've always wondered how our girl Peeache is getting on with her preemie little girl. Such a shame she didn't join the Facebook group!

Xxxx

laurenGame · 25/08/2022 10:40

Thank you @beansprout55 💛 I'm up and down - some days I just cry as I can't get him to sleep and he cries and I don't know how to soothe him. But learnt to pick myself up and hope that tomorrow is a better day.

He only wakes up 2-3 times at night BUT it takes me about 2 hours to get back to sleep 😴 I remember how you and I were stressed about our early pregnancy bleeding, that was nothing compared to my current stress of trying to settle the baby or get him to sleep Grin

And I was meant to come back to you regarding my pelvic floor! TMI but dtd and it felt different but I'm not sure exactly what - maybe I was just overanalysing 😂 husband said it felt the same but I'm sure he was just being too nice! It got better- I think constantly being on the go helps as I'm using my muscles all day. But I still have to be careful with my bladder - I have to fully empty it before I leave the house. And don't wear anything lightly coloured. How's the physio doing? X

laurenGame · 25/08/2022 10:43

@beansprout55 you're allowed to feel sad even if you have a healthy baby. You are a person too.
Your sex life isn't over; think how many women have been through this before and have recovered. Are there any good threads on this topic ? Would you consider surgery if physio doesn't help? My boobs have deflated and I have thought that in a few years time I might do a boob lift or something.

PleaseSendNoodles · 26/08/2022 00:25

@beansprout55 Yeah, definitely try counselling but my main tip would be - don’t just assume you should stick with the first therapist you try. I didn’t gel with my first one at all. She just wanted to talk about my ‘strengths’ which make work for some people. I wanted to process all the traumatic things that happened! The one I’m seeing now has been excellent though.

I’ve heard the NHS offer that. You should go for it. It might be helpful. I have birth in a U.S. military facility so I don’t think they offer that, unfortunately!

Sorry to hear about the physical struggles too. Hopefully you’ll feel more healed and back to normal with a bit more time xx

sunflower198 · 30/08/2022 14:21

@Letsbekindplease I've just had my 2nd period since baby arrived and it was 100% better than last month. The first was so heavy and honestly the worst I've ever had.
This month, it was heavy for half a day and then been really light...So hopefully you'll have a similar experience 🤞🏻

Letsbekindplease · 30/08/2022 20:16

@sunflower198 hopefully next month is better then. Fingers crossed.
X

MrsTwentyNine · 06/04/2023 11:25

Don't think anyone checks this thread anymore as I believe you're all on fb but just wondered if any of our June mamas are thinking of a second or pregnant ?? We have just started trying this month (and I'm shocked myself !) Sending love!

Flowerbug1994 · 06/04/2023 14:37

@MrsTwentyNine one of the ladies on Facebook group is pregnant ! Use are super mums can’t imagine having one with my little boy being such a handful at the moment 😂😂 but love the idea of that close age gap

MrsTwentyNine · 06/04/2023 14:41

@Flowerbug1994 sleep training is giving us solid nights of sleep and that is the only reason haha! Hope you and LO are well! What is the Facebook group called please?

Letsbekindplease · 06/04/2023 21:10

Hello! How do I join the Facebook group?

Thats amazing! Super mums
I already have 2. 2 and THROUGH 😂. My little one has just started to crawl. She’s doing so well. also just started her settle days at nursery before I’m back to work in May. She has terrible separation anxiety so I’m very nervous. She was quite teary today at nursery. Only in 2 hours, but she was absolutely shattered which didn’t help. She also wouldn’t nap for them. Hope that gets easier.

still sleeping in our room due to us taking forever to decorate. Hoping this to be done in the next 3 months. In our bed every single night. She went from sleeping through. Hit the 4 month sleep regression and everything went to pot lol. She sleeps through the night but only in with us. She also gets up pretty much every single morning at 4.30am. It’s killing me. Not sure what to do about that

laurenGame · 08/04/2023 01:25

Hello everyone!
Oh gosh we are one and done!

Little one sleeps amazingly at night (sleep trained) but it is still such hard work in the day, we are knackered Grin

I love our little family of 3, it's perfect and I don't want to have financial strains due to multiple kids.
Love watching our little man grow, 9 months is the best age for me so far. Seeing so much personality develop :) how is everyone else going?

In other news my pelvic floor is still not 100% Hmm but that's prob due to my laziness for exercise haha.
