@Cookiemomma good luck for today!!

it’s so exciting that everyone’s 12 week scans are coming up now !☺️

brogan12 · 28/06/2022 06:42

Good luck go everyone who's scans are coming up! Mines on Friday and I am so nervous it's unbelievable! Even though I know everything is more than likely fine as I've had two already, one at 6+3 and another at 8+3 and we seen the heartbeat both times so chances are everything's okay, I still can't shake the anxiety!

ElephantGrey101 · 28/06/2022 07:04

@Cookiemomma I also have my scan today. I hope everything goes well with yours.

I did have to have a private scan as it is impossible to get seen in the early pregnancy unit in our hospital ( I spent 2 hours in a and e proving I was sick enough to admitted for hyperemersis and when I got up it was empty). I now have their direct number. I had my scan with a private midwife rather than one of those window to the womb companies. However your 12 week scan at the hospital is usually done by a midwife sonographer not a doctor so I wouldn’t say only doctors are qualified to do scans.

Sassy144 · 28/06/2022 08:08

@Cookiemomma hello! I understand and feel very similar, I have my 12 week scan today and I'm terrified too ❤️ wishing you the best of luck xxx

ExpectingaRainbow · 28/06/2022 09:09

@ElephantGrey101 i totally agree! In my last pregnancy I went to a window to the womb place but this pregnancy have had 3 private scans at an amazing clinic with the same lady each time who is so knowledgable and thorough. These scans have kept by anxiety at manageable levels throughout this period after a MMC last pregnancy.

Cb31 · 28/06/2022 09:10

Good luck to everyone with scans soon! I've got mine today. I'm so nervous and feeling a bit down in the dumps because my husband can't come - he's got covid. I was away when he got it so have been staying with my parents so I could still go to the scan. Haven't seen him or my little boy since last week 😢. It's been really horrible but hopefully the scan will go well and then I'll be back home with them

Babycakes1989 · 28/06/2022 09:21

Good luck for everyone with scans coming up ❤️

i’m 11 weeks tomorrow and for the past week I’ve felt so much better. My appetite is back & not feeling so ‘hungover’ 🤦🏽‍♀️ So as mentioned by a few of you I’m hoping this is the placenta taking over.

i’m also bricking my 12 week scan 🥺x

brogan12 · 28/06/2022 14:01

@Cb31 how'd your scan go? I'm so so nervous for mine and it's still 3 days away!

hopingfor23 · 28/06/2022 14:51

Also got my scan on Friday and anxiety is starting to kick in which I'm annoyed at because we had a lovely healthy scan at 9 weeks and no reason to think all isn't well. Doesn't help that I've just got over covid so starting to worry that might have effected the baby. Totally irrational I know 😩

hopingfor23 · 28/06/2022 14:52

Good luck @Cb31 xxx

brogan12 · 28/06/2022 14:53

@hopingfor23 I'm with you right there! We had a perfect scan at 8 weeks showing a strong little heart beat but yet I'm so worried something has happened! I know I'm being irrational as I've had no pain or bleeding or anything like that! What times your scan Friday? I hope all goes well for you!

Oh well we can be irrational together 🙈🙈 mine is at 10.10am! What about yours? Hope it's not too late I was glad of a morning app so I don't drive myself potty! X

brogan12 · 28/06/2022 15:03

@hopingfor23 definitely! It's a case of keeping busy and trying so hard not to think about it haha! Mines at 10! We will both be fine, I just know it.

I don't think what helps is when you go down the rabbit hole of google and you see about all these Mmc which I think is rare if you've been the heartbeat at 8/9 weeks? It's like 2 percent chance or something so the odds are, we will be just fine! (I hope haha)

brogan12 · 28/06/2022 15:04

Seen*^

icedcoffeeplease · 28/06/2022 15:18

Hi everyone. New member and first time pregnancy. About 12 weeks along but could be wrong as my periods were very erratic. Having dating scan next week and very very excited. I’m 24 and live in Edinburgh. Don’t have Facebook so mumsnet is proving invaluable to me 😅

Sassy144 · 28/06/2022 16:38

My scan went really well today, baby had a lovely heartbeat and was doing headstands 😂 can't believe it, I was so nervous!

@Sassy144 ahhh look at that baby! Congratulations, I'm so glad it went perfectly for you! 💖

Sassy144 · 28/06/2022 16:41

@hopingfor23 I felt exactly the same, even though we had a good scan at 8 weeks and no reason to think anything was wrong I was still so anxious, and I had covid last week which also added to the worry - but kept trying to tell myself that worrying won't change the outcome either way, just makes you feel worse for longer! The relief at the scan today when she said she saw the heartbeat was amazing.

Thank you that's so reassuring especially as you've also just had covid. I didn't get much of a temp and went from positive to negative within a week but still so worried it's harmed the baby which I know is silly. Congrats on your healthy scan hopefully jointing your bubble of bliss on Friday 😀

Cb31 · 28/06/2022 20:03

@brogan12 it went really well! Baby was wriggling away 🥰 The sonographer was getting a bit frustrated that the baby wouldn't stay still 😂. I'm sooo relieved and it's been lovely telling all of our family and friends. Despite being told that baby was measuring 3/4 days behind, my due date has now jumped forward 2 days. So I'm 13 weeks tomorrow. Good luck for your scan!
@hopingfor23 thanks! Good luck for your scan xxx

Sassy144 · 29/06/2022 03:29

Congratulations @Cb31 ! ❤️

Cat2hop · 29/06/2022 04:13

Good luck with upcoming scans everyone! Mine is still nearly two weeks away. Have decided to wait until then to tell family but just feel a bit like it isn't real as sickness symptoms have really eased off and nobody knows yet! Someone in my first baby's mum's group is 16 weeks and even though it's funny to think we will be quite close together at the end it still feels like she's pregnant and I'm not!

ElephantGrey101 · 29/06/2022 07:13

My scan went well. The baby was upside down for all of it so I had to wriggle around and go for a walk and come back to see if we could get a good view. Came back still upside down. I have a new due date 27th December.

HRA22 · 29/06/2022 07:55

Congrats everyone! So pleased to hear good news stories from you all :)

im having a scan next Tuesday (11w) and a blood test ahead of NIPT/Harmony. I’m then back in on the 18th for results as I’m away through my actual 12 weeks. Is anyone else having the this test either privately or via NHS? It also allows you to find out the baby gender.

I had a scan at 6w5 and 8w too due to a bleed. Baby had actually grown really quickly and put me 2 days ahead, so wonder if the same will happen next week.

ExpectingaRainbow · 29/06/2022 07:59

@HRA22 i had the IONA privately last week and was measuring 11 weeks. This was also my third scan and I’d measured a day or two further ahead each time. Anxiously awaiting the results! Our clinic emails if low risk and call you if any issues. I jump about a mile every time an email comes through at the moment!
