When is everyone’s 12 week scans? Can’t be long before they start for those due the beginning of January? How exciting!

Mines on Monday! Literally counting down the days now. 😁

mrsgtobe97 · 16/06/2022 19:28

@Peonies94 @LouiseD2018 thank you, makes it feel so real now it looks like a baby 😳 sooo relieved as hadn't saw baby since 6w4d and it was a dot

Peonies94 · 16/06/2022 19:32

@mrsgtobe97 I had a scan at 6 weeks and it was just a dot! Crazy how much it changes in just a few weeks! I have a private scan for 8 weeks, and looking at yours I’m tempted to move it back a week!

Sassy144 · 16/06/2022 20:20

I'm with those who are totally off most food. I don't really feel that sick but all I can face to eat is plain salty food, don't fancy anything at all. My 12 week scan is 28 June, counting down the days!

fullfatsocks · 16/06/2022 21:02

Lovely to hear everyone’s positive news 🥰 I’ve just had a private scan they put me a day ahead at 8+5 which I know is neither here nor there - I’m just SO relieved ❤️ I have a booking in appt on 30th June when I’ll be 10.5 weeks and the scan will be arranged from there.

babyjellyfish · 17/06/2022 08:31

Morning all. Lovely to hear everyone's news.

I had a reassurance scan this morning. Baby is measuring one day ahead at 10+4. I had ovulation monitoring and I know I can't have ovulated earlier than 19th April as I had a scan that morning and hadn't ovulated yet, so baby is just measuring slightly ahead.

Not long to go now until my 12 week scan on the 27th.

My mum is coming to visit me in France from the 23rd until the 28th so I'm hoping we can keep it a secret until the evening of the 27th when hopefully we'll be able to give good news after the scan. I'm having it done at a hospital where you do the blood test first thing and then have the ultrasound a couple of hours later when the blood test results are back and can give you the trisomy risk there and then.

mrsgtobe97 · 17/06/2022 09:35

@Peonies94 yeah I had such a good experience at our 6 week scan as I was terrified of ectopic, so seeing that little dot and flickering heartbeat was great. Although now after seeing the 10w6d scan I'm so much more relieved as it looks like a baby, was such a surreal moment seeing it bop around 🥲 just still feels like a fever dream

Sorry just popping in and out of here!
the last few weeks have gone so quick, I have my 12 week scan in just over a week but by dates of private I’ll only be 10/6days.
only good thing is I’ll get to go back and have another scan when my dates reach 12 weeks.
I also have a scan with fetal medicine 1 week after my dating scan which I’m not looking forward too!

freckles503 · 18/06/2022 02:11

Hello. I had a formal scan today. I’m 8+2 and everything measured appropriately with a good heartbeat. The ultrasound report said there were “two small perigestational bleeds”. I haven’t had any vaginal bleeding so far. Has anyone else had this finding on a formal ultrasound and been ok? Just worried about that finding and if it could indicate an impending miscarriage.

HRA22 · 19/06/2022 09:01

Update from me too. My early scan showed 6w5 at the beginning of June which was 4-5 days smaller than my ovulation dates would suggest. But was assured everything ok. (Note I’m using a private practitioner called Beard Mill in West Oxfordshire)

fast forward a week (tue 14th) and I was lightly bleeding. Lots of panic as I’m anxious anyway so went back to Beard Mill. Showing 8w and a healthy heartbeat no evidence of bleed. Catching up by 2 days in a week a good sign too.

symptoms - I’m ok. I definitely get hungry for dry/ plain food if I don’t eat for a few hours and I get quite nauseas but nothing too bad. Worst is the TIREDNESS. Some mornings/ evenings feel like a crippling hangover.

I spoke with my NHS dr and am now waiting for initial appointments to come through.

I have booked a scan at 10w6 (before a 2 week travel stint with work) and am having a blood test taken for harmony testing. I go back 12w6 for scan and results of harmony / chromosomal abnormalities testing.

anyone from the area? Anyone else have big work commitments over the next couple of months and concerned about travelling?!?

Sassy144 · 19/06/2022 09:45

@HRA22 glad to hear your recent scan went well, that's great news. Two weeks travelling with work sounds tough. Does your work know about your pregnancy? I have a big event coming up with work and I'm quite anxious about covid as it seems to be everywhere at the moment. I'm actually unwell at the moment with an awf

Pressed send too quickly, meant to say with an awful cold!

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 19/06/2022 12:04

@HRA22 I’m glad you’ve had good news. I must be quite close to you as I had a scan at Beard Mill a couple of weeks ago! I found it really supportive and reassuring. I’m booked in for my NHS scans too but I’m definitely planning on going back to Beard Mill later on in my pregnancy.

Hi girls

I've had light red spotting when I wipe after having a wee all day today. How do I get referred to the EPU? How do I call please xx

Leila2022 · 19/06/2022 18:40

Each hospital have their own policy - some offer a walk in where you may have to wait a long time or others might need a referral. You can Google EPU and the oval hospital name and should provide the number, if not ask your GP who can give you the information xxx

bleeding is common in early pregnancy try not to be too alarmed - better said than done

xx

Babycakes1989 · 19/06/2022 19:14

@freckles503 small bleeds found at scans are very common and will most of the time be harmless please don’t worry yourself too much ❤️(I need to practice what I preach mind 😄)

with my son I had one bleed which did come out at a bit of spotting up until about 15 weeks. This time with my second at my early 7 week scan (I’m 9 + 4 now) there was the same again a small area of bleeding which the lady said will either come out as spotting or will dissolve itself which I’m hoping is the case as I’ve had no spotting at all this time. They will monitor it for you at each scan. Congratulations 💐

Thank you hun, it's so scary any slight bit of blood isn't it.

I will call my GP first thing to see if that can refer me 🤞🏼 xx

freckles503 · 19/06/2022 20:32

@Babycakes1989 thank you! That makes me feel a lot better. Did you have any cramping with the bleeds? I’ve been having some sharp pains and what feel like period cramps but still no bleeding. Glad they weren’t harmful in the long run for you!

HRA22 · 19/06/2022 21:06

Not yet… I don’t want to speak to work until I’m a bit further along and comfortable. I’m sure it will be fine, most worried about exhaustion! I’ve had covid before and boosted… so hoping it will be ok….! I’m sure you’ll be fine. Have you spoken to employers?

HRA22 · 19/06/2022 21:08

oh great! Perhaps once the first trimester is out of the way we can swap stories on local groups etc… to explore! I’m going to maintain my NHS apptments too. Timing wise it just works out well for me with work commitments as NHS random appointment allocation is difficult to manage!

Babycakes1989 · 20/06/2022 08:30

@freckles503 so both times with my son and now I get mild cramping on and off randomly. I had some just over a week ago. I’ve had a few random stabby pains in my groin but nothing thats too uncomfortable? I think again those pains are normal and are a sign everything’s stretching out and moving about down there 👍xx

Leila2022 · 20/06/2022 10:11

I had very light pink spotting again last night and now this nothing light brown spotting - I did use progesterone again and felt slightly constipated ,… also my toddler fully head butted me in the stomach a few days ago - feel worried as I also have cramping this time :(

Sassy144 · 20/06/2022 10:56

Morning ladies I hope you're all doing okay, especially those with spotting etc, I know it can be such a worry ❤️

I tested positive for covid this morning :( have felt grotty for 4/5 days now like a bad cold but hopefully getting over the worst of it now.

HRA22 · 20/06/2022 11:27

I was told when I had spotting last week, that unless it gets progressively heavier in 24-36 hours it’s likely something not to worry about.

it’s such a nerve wracking time…. Sending all my well wishes to each of you!

Leila2022 · 20/06/2022 11:44

That’s not true … just spoken to EPU again they said if you keep getting episodes of spotting even if short intervals get checked out … on my way to EPU again :(
