It’s not just based on ovulation - it’s sometimes howling you took to implant also - some can implant within 4 days at earliest - others can take up to 12 days

have they offered you a new scan ?

Leila2022 · 06/06/2022 21:51

Just thought I’d chime in.
don’t trust private scans… they are not regulated like the NHS and often aren’t up to standard at all… there have been all sorts of inaccuracies of private scans compared to NHS ones. I would contact the EPU and insist on a scan etc

Leila2022 · 06/06/2022 21:58

Is it your first pregnancy ?
being pregnant can be really stress inducing and you worry about every small thing

I know I do worry a lot

but this early try not to worry, just focus on being healthy and without stress as much as you can

dont pay for tests you don’t need -
if you’re that concerned try to book a scan at EPU if you can

sparklyhippo · 06/06/2022 22:00

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts on telling people! There are 2 more people at work that ideally need to know but going to try and hold out telling them until I’ve told my family…which I’m thinking will probably be in the next few weeks as I hate keeping things from my mum.

Feeling awful tonight. After telling work today I’d barely any symptoms, tonight I feel quite nauseous on and off and my legs are so achy 😫 feel like I’ve got growing pains in my legs! 😆

Sassy144 · 07/06/2022 07:02

@HRA22 do you mean the screening tests you're offered? It's all personal choice so read up and see how you feel, but as far as I see it all the initial tests are non invasive/risk free (blood tests, scans etc) so I will do those and then go from there. I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious, I understand - I had a MC a few months ago. I hope your early scan brings you some comfort, it did for me. Then you can register your pregnancy and get your appointments booked in as they'll be coming up now.

HRA22 · 07/06/2022 08:33

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate it.

First pregnancy, 34 and been trying for 9 months. Had some issues coming off the pill too and some conflicting information from my GP. I had multiple tests and received some confusing information, thought it would be really hard for me to get pregnant and boom! 2 weeks later I get a positive test.

does anyone have the FBK group link?! I struggle with the consistent logging in and out on here!

I had the worst cramps last night, I woke up at 2am with the pain and really thought I was going to be sick it was that bad (worse than any menstrual cramps I've ever had). Thankfully it went away after 5 minutes but it was really scary. No bleeding or anything so not too worried but the intensity was out of the blue.

HRA22 · 07/06/2022 09:01

Oh blimey. I did hear if you are in a position too long that it can cause some sharp pains, though it’s something I read vs experience.

EnterACloud · 07/06/2022 10:38

How are you doing today @Moosh18 ? All good I hope

Moosh18 · 07/06/2022 10:49

@EnterACloud it was a little heavier when I went to the toilet this morning still pink no proper blood, since then has stopped, I'm waiting for a nurse from epu to call me back... I'm so worried

Thanks for asking x

Leila2022 · 07/06/2022 11:59

Really hope you get seen today at EPU
thinking of you xx

Glowen · 07/06/2022 12:03

@Leila2022 thank you, they wanted me to book another one in 10 days time, another £135, to see if it’s grown. But as we saw a heart beat, I’m not too sure what I’ll get out of the scan. Just wondering if I should be worried about it or if happens frequently. She did say it is quite common in early pregnancy but I’m so sure on my dates which is what’s throwing me, but yes, hopefully your right and it’s slightly later ovulation than I thought and implementation :-) and yes it’s my first pregnancy, and not really got any symptoms so hence to Constant looking for reassurance. This is a long long 12 weeks :-)

Glowen · 07/06/2022 12:04

@Moosh18 hope everything is okay for you x 💕

Moosh18 · 07/06/2022 12:08

Scans tomorrow at 8:50am, they've said it's really really common and as it wasn't bright red and no pain she thinks all is okay, but I just don't feel like it is, I haven't since the beginning of this pregnancy. I was so shocked to see a heartbeat.... I'm just trying to tell myself ten days ago we saw a healthy baby measuring bang on with a strong heartbeat the spotting has stopped but I can't get over the fear x

OP posts:
Moosh18 · 07/06/2022 12:09

@Glowen how long would it be until 12 week scan? X

OP posts:
Glowen · 07/06/2022 12:20

I have my ‘8 week’ hospital appointment this Thursday, when I think I should be 7+4 but I’d actually be 6+4 based on the scan. So I’d guess 12 week scan will be around 7th July.

hopingfor23 · 07/06/2022 12:47

Not long to wait @Moosh18 try to stay positive it doesn't sound like they are worried but just happy to see you and put your mind at ease x

Leila2022 · 07/06/2022 13:26

Do you know what the heart beat was ?

Leila2022 · 07/06/2022 13:28

My last pregnancy I had pink blood … quite a bit at one point and they told me is very common - as long as it’s not bright red and cramping it’s usually ok … but happy you’re having a reassurance scan

Leila2022 · 07/06/2022 13:31

Of course they did ! That is how they make their money

that is why I say and many doctors / consultants have told me that many private scans aren’t properly regulated at all and it’s always best to see the NHS is you can or many of the recommended IVF clinics are regulated also

just be careful with private scans -

dis they give you a sheet with the size of baby CRL and the Sac size and the heart beat BPM?

Glowen · 07/06/2022 13:48

@Leila2022 thanks, yeah they gave me this but I can’t see anything with the heartbeat on it

Glowen · 07/06/2022 13:54
