@Moosh18 oh fab thank you lovely xx

Sassy144 · 06/06/2022 15:58

@BabyGray yes I had mine the other day, just lots of questions about medical history etc. Good opportunity for you to ask any questions you have too. Mine was over the phone and I'm having bloods etc taken on Friday.

Moosh18 · 06/06/2022 16:39

I've just had a tiny bit more pink spotting 😩 I'm 9 weeks, I had some around 5/6 weeks and all was okay at scan at 8 weeks, but I was really hoping I'd seen the last of it

OP posts:
hopingfor23 · 06/06/2022 16:41

Oh no @Moosh18 is it much? Try not to worry especially if you've had it before and all was ok. Sending love xxx

Moosh18 · 06/06/2022 16:44

@hopingfor23 only once so far when I wiped not a lot, I'm just really hoping it's common for me! But it's just caused me to panic from the peace I got from my last scan

OP posts:
hopingfor23 · 06/06/2022 16:46

@Moosh18 I would be exactly the same. I think all you can do is keep an eye on it and try to stay calm. Have you had any cramping or pains? X

Moosh18 · 06/06/2022 16:47

@hopingfor23 no, no pains or anything.... I'll keep an eye on it 😩 my next scan isn't until a week on Thursday that's my nhs 12 week one x

I am halfway through a course of antibiotics for a UTI so could be that causing it

OP posts:
hopingfor23 · 06/06/2022 17:30

@Moosh18 that could be it - you poor thing hope you are being looked after. That seems like far away but it will hopefully fly around. You could always go for a private scan sooner but I've talked myself out of that a few times as the standard/expertise of the person scanning isn't always as good as an nhs and might lead to more worries...who knew pregnancy would be this anxiety inducing hey 😩😘😘😘

Frida9 · 06/06/2022 17:31

For those who've had their first appointment, do they ask about your partner's/partners family medical history or just the mother's? Just not sure if I need to ask my dh who probably won't have a clue anyway

sparklyhippo · 06/06/2022 17:34

@Moosh18 being pregnant is such a worry! Hopefully it’s the UTI causing it.

Has anyone told their parents/family yet? I’m only 6 weeks but had to tell a couple of people at work today for my own safety etc. Didn’t plan to tell anyone else until 12 weeks but it feels horrible that work know and family don’t.

hopingfor23 · 06/06/2022 17:41

@sparklyhippo we immediately told my mum and best friend just because I needed the emotional support following previous losses. Tbh I'm glad we did as takes a bit off DH with all my worrying 🙈🙈🙈 then after we had a scan at 8w we told MIL and DIL but that's it. Want to wait until our nhs scan to tell everyone else although it's becoming increasingly hard as I'm beyond exhausted and walking round like a zombie so fully expecting everyone to guess 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

XrayFish · 06/06/2022 17:46

@Frida9 From previous dc, they will ask briefly about dh, but stuff you should know.
Ethnicity, is it his first child, are you sure he's the father, any known genetic conditions (phrased as do you want genetic councilling) . Think that's pretty much it.

They don't ask about your family history, let alone his.

But if there is something in yours or his history that you think might be relevant you should be given the chance to raise it.

EnterACloud · 06/06/2022 17:48

@sparklyhippo I've told my best friend as she knew I was testing and it would have been bloody obvious anyway. I'd really like to tell a couple of other friends who've recently had babies, but I've told my OH I don't want to tell our families yet so I worry about being a bit hypocritical.

It's tricky because telling other women who have relevant knowledge, can advise and reassure etc would be great for me, but it feels like the families have a "right" to know before friends, and I've effectively banned him from telling anyone... but then I'm the pregnant one who needs advice and support with physical things. Bit confused and would love to hear what others are doing.

EnterACloud · 06/06/2022 17:49

@Moosh18 Wishing you no more silly pink bits! Sorry you're going through this worry. Such a tricky time. Flowers

Moosh18 · 06/06/2022 17:55

My best friend knows and MIL, sister in law is guessing as I've not been drinking at family events but haven't confirmed it! Was hoping to announce next week if all is well x

Amber17 · 06/06/2022 19:19

@sparklyhippo I’m 7 weeks and currently there are more people at work who know than friends, and absolutely no family yet. The only people who I told (aside from necessary work people for risk assessments etc) were people who knew we were TTC. We’re telling parents at 9/10 weeks as we’re seeing them then and want to tell them in person.

Glowen · 06/06/2022 19:40

Hi, we just had a scan today and should be 7 week 1 days but only measured 6 weeks. They said everything in proportion but still very worried as not sure how I could be a week out on my dates. I have a 31 day cycle each month and took ovulation tests. Now worried It’s not going properly. Looking for reassurance. Anyone else had this?

Moosh18 · 06/06/2022 20:05

@Glowen hey! Was it internal or external? External isn't as accurate at dating before 7/8 weeks, I had a scan when I was 6+2 and they dated me 5+4 but I was absolutely certain on my dates, the next scan at 7+6 (by my dates) and they dated me at 7+6 xx

OP posts:
Glowen · 06/06/2022 20:21

Hi @Moosh18 , it was internal :-( still read up that maybe they can be inaccurate? It had a little heartbeat. She’s suggested I go back next week, but as they make £135 a pop, I also worry they prey on peoples nerves.

Sassy144 · 06/06/2022 20:43

@Frida9 I was asked at my booking appointment about partner's family history as well as mine. Not in huge detail but asking whether there was history of things like diabetes, genetic conditions, heart problems etc.

I wasn't prepared and said no and then afterwards DH told me high blood pressure runs in his family, which was one of the things they asked about! So I'm going to have to update them at some point because I think they want to know for preeclampsia risk.

HRA22 · 06/06/2022 21:02

I have my first early scan Wednesday, which by my calculation should be 7+4. I haven’t even called my NHS dr yet..I don’t want to do anything until I’ve seen someone as I feel incredibly anxious by the whole thing.

I called my sister last week as she has a 3yo… it was reassuring to have another female to talk to… DH doesn’t understand the anxiety.

I am reading up on so many different types of tests you can/should have before 12 weeks… anyone have any opinions on those?
