It just arrived about half an hour ago and I am feeling very proud of Scotland for offering this to every baby.
To give each baby the opportunity to have the same start is just incredible. I was quite emotional too.

The clothes are lovely actually and I think everything bar the blanket seemed really good quality.

I hadn't realised you got a sling in it, that's fab as wanted to try one but didn't want to buy one!

It will make for an amazing memory box for baby too 💛

pregnancydiaries · 25/05/2022 16:26

@destiEos thinking of you ♥️

pregnancydiaries · 25/05/2022 16:26

@unknownscot thanks so much for the details!!! I think I'll have to get in touch did she just come to your house?xx

unknownscot · 25/05/2022 16:29

@pregnancydiaries
Yeah she came to the house. No charge, just pay for any bra you buy.
I bought 4 - all returnable if unused - 2 day time and 2 softer for evening/nighttime.

A really great service.

Brightsmoke · 25/05/2022 16:46

@GrowBabyGrow they numb the area and you don't see the needle so try not to panic about it. As @CurryandSnuggle says, you forget about it everything when you need it

Such gorgeous babies, congrats everyone. Jealous you can all celebrate with 🥂 now 😂

Hope everything went ok @destiEos

I've come the realisation this this baby won't make a move until he's pushed out. So now I'm on an unofficial countdown, he will be here in 24 days come what May, think it's helped calm my overworked brain down. I'm meant to have a growth scan this week, but they've overlooked it. So midwife has been on the case and need one either tomorrow or Friday. That will be the decider as to how things progress for us

MrsTwentyNine · 25/05/2022 17:06

Has anyone had a little trickle but it's discharge (I think!) and not waters breaking ?! Ahh how do I know!

unknownscot · 25/05/2022 17:30

@MrsTwentyNine me! Quite often 🙈

MrsTwentyNine · 25/05/2022 17:31

@unknownscot glad I'm not alone! This has been happening since 36+5 for me. Massive increase in discharge! 37 weeks today and now just on the lookout for actual labour signs ...

Letsbekindplease · 25/05/2022 17:54

That’s great @unknownscot I’ll maybe see if I can get her to mine. So hard to find a good fitting braw, esp nursing one!

I got my baby box a couple of weeks ago. My son is obsessed with it. He thinks the packet of condoms are balloons because his dad thought it would be funny to blow one up. Haha.

i feel so anxious today. I’ve been having so many thoughts about SIDS and I’m finding it hard to shake the thoughts and feelings.

hate feeling so anxious all the time.

pregnancydiaries · 25/05/2022 19:15

@Letsbekindplease that's so funny, we had a 3 year old round today who was rummaging in the box asking what everything was. My face when he pulled out the condoms, immediately "they are balloons for the babies first birthday" 😂😂😂

Sorry you're feeling rubbish about SIDS, I am also starting to panic irrationally about things like that too. This stage is as bad as trimester 1.

beansprout55 · 25/05/2022 19:32

Ahh wow re the baby box! That sounds amazing!!🥰Is that just in Scotland or England too?
Hope all ok @destiEos xxx

unknownscot · 25/05/2022 19:56

@beansprout55 Just Scotland.
I'd like to hope England and rUK roll it out in the near future.

💛

Vimto1991 · 25/05/2022 20:26

Ahhh I wish we had the baby box in England. That seems super helpful for any expecting parent!! BRB moving to Scotland. 🥲

anyone else feel like, even if they are feeling baby movements, they just aren’t as big now? Is it because they’re running out of room? I’m getting the tiniest of kicks, the tiniest of rolls, lots of tiny movements in my pelvis, etc.
just don’t seem to be getting big movements, but haven’t called into triage this week because I have been getting movements.

CurryandSnuggle · 25/05/2022 20:36

@Vimto1991 yes I think that’s normal because they’re running out of room. 🙂

Vimto1991 · 25/05/2022 20:39

@CurryandSnuggle that’s good to hear! Constantly on movement watch, baby is still moving just not grand movements anymore, and can often leave me hanging for awhile before any movement - then again, I’m sat at home not doing an awful lot these days. 😅 2 weeks to the date until my induction!

Flowerbug1994 · 25/05/2022 20:48

@Vimto1991 am exactly the same on movements am thinking am I got getting as many but then I think am I getting the same amount there just not as prominent as they was if I get a bit worried I tend to sit in chair and relax or lie down and I have always got something from that. Anyone starting to get little pains like I feel at the minute I’ve got a little stretching like pain on the right side of my pelvis. Everything scares me 😭😭😭

Vimto1991 · 25/05/2022 21:06

@Flowerbug1994 yeah sometimes I really have to concentrate! This thread really allievates anxiety. 🙈 poor little squished babies!! I just told mine they’d have more room if they came out now 😂😂

I’ve been getting pains, ligament pain is back, too! I had a stretching pain on my right side, I think I pulled my ligament as felt very reminiscent of round ligament pain. Took two days for the pain to fade. Gotta think how heavy the baby is now on our poor stomachs haha, but I’m the same, everything scares me, too. Just want the baby to be here and to know they’re okay in my arms!

beansprout55 · 25/05/2022 21:35

Gosh I'm so glad you two just said that. For the past two days I've had a couple episodes of severe stabbing sharp pains on the right hand side of bump, going down into pelvic region. Totally freaked me out. Thought it could be ligament pain but wasn't sure, haven't really had it before!x

@Letsbekindplease I'm the same. I think about SIDS a lot and the most awful things or ways it would happen. I really hope I can get rid of this anxiety too as I can't imagine I'll be able to sleep a wink once he's here, or leave the house, or travel in the car. I also hope this is just natural and not signs of PND starting early.

I think we should have a post natal group with the same people going for a good while after the babies are born. To share experiences, tips on feeding etc.... like sweet fpeg has done for us. Think it will be useful as babies are all similar age. Will help mental health too!!!!x

Octoblockisadick · 25/05/2022 22:01

@unknownscot @Letsbekindplease @pregnancydiaries just after reading about your baby boxes I saw a tiktok opening one, it looks amazing! So many good things in there, looks so useful.

@Vimto1991 I think my baby is back to back because I keep getting elbows and knees everywhere, it's quite uncomfortable tbh. If they are facing your back (the right way round!) any big kicks etc will be pointed inwards so in theory you would feel less?
I'm getting quite a lot of fanny daggers, they are so awful 😖.

Anyone else having moments where they feel really odd? I've had it a couple times, I go extremely hot and sweaty, feel like I'm going to vomit and pass out. It only lasts a couple of minutes, but it's awful, I genuinely feel like I'm going to collapse when they happen.

Vimto1991 · 25/05/2022 22:07

@Octoblockisadick could be! Although I think my baby is curled like a C shape around me 🤣 I just see these videos where a foot or elbow sticks out and I’ve never had that, then again maybe I’d never get it having an anterior placenta!
I’ve also had fanny daggers and a few butt daggers 🥲

I feel odd sometimes if I am lying a certain way, I put it down to maybe my blood pressure dropping. Recently I’ve had it standing up too and feel like I’ll faint or be sick. It’s bizarre! Wonder if it’s the weight of the baby on our veins or something?

Octoblockisadick · 25/05/2022 22:28

@Vimto1991 I've had quite a few times where there's been 'something' sticking out but never 100% sure what.

Google would suggest either low blood pressure or low blood sugar, but it properly scares me when it happens. Even if I'm lying down I feel like I'm going to fall off the sofa / out of bed or something. I would phone the midwives and check, but when I phoned Monday it was just admin in the office they said a midwife would call me Tuesday and nobody phoned so not sure there's any point tbh.

Vimto1991 · 25/05/2022 22:42

@Octoblockisadick I’ve put it down to one of those third trimester issues, but maybe I should raise it just in case! I just know jt must be a lot of strain on our bodies, although sometimes I struggle standing for a long time, and lying on my side in certain ways feels like my soul is leaving my body lol

laurenGame · 26/05/2022 04:23

MrsTwentyNine · 25/05/2022 17:06

Has anyone had a little trickle but it's discharge (I think!) and not waters breaking ?! Ahh how do I know!

Yes! Constant.
Have been to maternity unit twice with it, all seems normal.

I'm constantly leaking, if I don't wear a pad or underwear at home (just a gown) then I trickle on the floor. It's so unnerving as none of my friends seem to have so much liquid 🙁

Have you had it checked?

laurenGame · 26/05/2022 04:34

Just back from maternity unit. The leaking/water is due to thrush, and the baby is fine.
That took half a day out of my work day, meaning working till crazy hours tonight to catch-up.

So jealous of others being so close to due date! I'm still 34+2 only, feels like forever right now Grin

Vimto1991 · 26/05/2022 08:43

@laurenGame oh wow! Didn’t know thrush could make you leak like that, mines the complete opposite and makes me dry!! Glad you got it checked over so all is well and not your waters breaking early.
hopefully the next few weeks will fly by for you. 33-37 did for me, it’s these last three weeks that are dragging!!

I’ve been saying baby has been quite quiet all week, every time I woke up in the night last night they’ve been kicking away! Quite powerful kicks, too! My first thought was to panic but I had read somewhere babies tend to be nocturnal, even in the room when you are closer to due date. Baby must conserve energy throughout the day to go all ham on my stomach in the night. I felt them properly move so I’m just hoping they are still head down back to belly and not in some awkward position for birth 😫
