@EarlGreywithLemon i can’t see anything down there so I got DH to look and he couldn’t see anything. It did sting a bit when I put a baby wipe on which may be I scratched too hard. I’ve put a pad on but may call triage for advice. Just in case.

Vimto1991 · 24/05/2022 22:26

Basically told to pad up and keep an eye as there wasn’t much blood and still not continuing so doesn’t sound malicious (and more likely irritated my skin from itching). It made me feel a little sick seeing blood. 😫 although if it’s a sign of things to come maybe baby Vimto will be here soon. I did read light spotting can be your cervix softening. 😅

needarainbow · 24/05/2022 22:51

@Vimto1991 I've had this exact thing a few times over the last few weeks. Seems to be due to a small irritation down there and triggered when wiping! I looked a few times but couldnt see anything. Very inconvenient considering how often we have to pee at the minute 😂

fpeg · 25/05/2022 03:24

@Annabell1 I've been using the dr browns ones. I just have two at the moment with the number one teat. Only doing one bottle a day so don't currently need more than this.

@beansprout55 thank you so much for the lovely comment xx

Hi all, apologies for not replying sooner but it's been a stressful and full on week since Flynn arrived early to this world! He's so gorgeous and cuddly and very hard work!
I had a rough time with labour, ended up being induced as I had heavy bleeding one night, pessaries didn't work at all so they hooked me up to an oxytocin drip, ended up being on the highest dose allowed and then things kicked off... Went from 2cm to 8cm dilated in the space of an hour, gas and air not cutting it so opted for epidural as that was only option left! Flynns heart rate was then being naughty so they needed to get him out quickly so cut me and used forceps, he had cord around neck at some point. Think I counted about 8 medical people in the room with me and husband at peak time... He's not great with blood etc and I was worried he would pass out! Lost just under a litre of blood in the end so am now on iron tablets for a while.
Not every induction goes like that, I know plenty of people with really good stories!

We were kept in hospital for 72 hours for extra monitoring as I've had blood pressure issues etc, been home now since Friday evening getting used to the massive change. It's been emotional and a steep learning curve but I wouldn't change it at all.

Hope everyone is good and we see some more posts with new arrivals very soon xx

laurenGame · 25/05/2022 08:12

@NorthDevonBeachLover @thewindbeneathmywings @fpeg
Awww I've almost shed a tear at these photos, can't believe this is happening it still seems not long ago we were all on thread 1 being either excited or panicking about loss of pregnancy symptoms Grin

Congratulations, your babies are just beautiful and the only thing that's stopping me from bursting into a hormonal cry is me telling myself how ridiculous I would look crying over strangers' photos on the internet 😂🌸

Prema112 · 25/05/2022 08:17

@NorthDevonBeachLover Flynn is so beautiful!!! Sorry to hear your labour didn't go how you would have liked. Glad you're home and all the cuddles sound amazing!

@destiEos Thinking of you!! X

Letsbekindplease · 25/05/2022 08:44

@NorthDevonBeachLover he is absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations and I hope you recover soon.

Vimto1991 · 25/05/2022 09:13

@destiEos good luck!! hope all goes well for you today! ☺️

pregnancydiaries · 25/05/2022 09:21

@Vimto1991 how did the bleeding go over night?xx

Vimto1991 · 25/05/2022 09:22

@pregnancydiaries nothing when I wiped or on my pad this morning so looks to have been skin iritation which is mildly embarrassing at this point. 😫

fpeg · 25/05/2022 09:31

@NorthDevonBeachLover oh my gosh he's just gorgeous, I feel ya on the rapid progression thing! Sorry the north wasn't as you'd have wanted but healthy baby is a brilliant result 💚

@destiEos hoping you are a mum by now this morning 💚

unknownscot · 25/05/2022 09:32

@Vimto1991 nothing is embarrassing at this stage! Glad to hear it's stopped though!

@unknownscot ours arrived yesterday, tonnes in it!xx

Clomid1 · 25/05/2022 10:06

I keep popping in to see if we have anymore new arrivals. Beautiful babies.

I’ve also been in for reduced movements and DAU now want me back in twice a week again. I have my scan next week to find out date of induction.

We’re nearly there everyone! It’s been a very quick 9 months I have to say!

GrowBabyGrow · 25/05/2022 10:30

Ladies who have had babies before or had an epidural/spinal, what was it like having it done? I'm a big needle phobe and also have ADHD so staying still is really hard for me and I've started to get worried about how I would cope if I needed one. Are there any tips on staying calm and still while they do it?

CurryandSnuggle · 25/05/2022 11:16

@GrowBabyGrow honestly, I’m terrified of needles but when I felt I needed an epidural in my labour, all my other usual worries e.g of needles went out the window.

@Prema112 nothing happened in the end! Honestly I did and do feel so down, I thought it was the start of something. I normally get a day or two like this before my period so thought maybe it was labour starting, but nothing.

@NorthDevonBeachLover awww Flynn is so adorable 🥰congratulations again! And I’m sorry you didn’t get the birth experience that you would have liked ❤️

CurryandSnuggle · 25/05/2022 11:17

@Prema112 as in, I don’t feel down about nothing happening. I know she’ll come when she’s ready. But I’m really teary and emotional in general.

Prema112 · 25/05/2022 11:26

@CurryandSnuggle Ah, false starts must be a little frustrating, when are you due again? I'm sorry you're feeling down ❤️ I've hit a bit of a wall today. 39 weeks and so ready for baby, can't bring myself to do anything much feel like I'm just waiting. If this baby is the same as my son I'll be giving birth tonight, doubt it though!

EarlGreywithLemon · 25/05/2022 11:45

@GrowBabyGrow I was a bit nervous about the idea of an epidural, but it was absolutely fine. I couldn’t see what they were doing, and I couldn’t feel it going in. And you don’t have to stay still for that long at all. They are very used to keeping people calm and still when they do it.

In my case my pain was really bad and I wasn’t getting any breaks between the contractions, so I was struggling not to move or shake. My husband was worried that I wouldn’t be able to have it because of that - he knew how desperate I was for it. But it was absolutely fine; it was such a short moment and the midwife was a pro at calming me. She held me in a big hug whilst the anaesthetist did her thing. Then it worked and it was absolute bliss!

unknownscot · 25/05/2022 11:52

Final waxing done 😅

I have a lady coming to the house this afternoon who fits for nursing bras - what an amazing service. Anyone around glasgow it's www.facebook.com/bosombuddiesscotland/ or www.bosombuddiesonline.co.uk

Octoblockisadick · 25/05/2022 15:56

@NorthDevonBeachLover he's gorgeous 😍

@unknownscot ooh what do you get in the baby box? And I'm not brave enough to wax haha! I've still been shaving as normal, it's just getting a little harder now than usual haha.

@CurryandSnuggle I felt the same, was hoping the period ache was something but nothing happened. I did have a couple of back ache spasms mid afternoon, but nothing much else.

Ooh @Prema112 fingers crossed that baby does come tonight!!

InvisibleDragon · 25/05/2022 16:05

@pregnancydiaries @unknownscot my baby box arrived this week too! I was so emotional about the idea that every baby can have one, it's such a lovely thing.

@Octoblockisadick it's basically a baby starter kit. Some babygros in different sizes, a fluffy jacket, a little comforter toy and teething ring and some board books. There's also maternity pads, breast pads and some condoms! And the whole box can be used as a baby bed, which is adorable. I love it so much. (I think I'm really emotional about it because my mum didn't have much stuff for me when I was little, so the idea that someone cares about making sure every baby has something new and special is just wonderful)
