@CurryandSnuggle Sorry to hear it's still progressing slowly for you, the drip will almost definitely help and you're not going from 0cm so will hopefully not be so full on. I'm still similar, having a clary sage bath... thinking of you!

Letsbekindplease · 04/06/2022 20:30

Wishing you ones in labour all the luck.

im so miserable. I’m days off my due date and I have no sign of baby at all! Bump is still sky high. No cramps, no plug, nothing.

Rolledthedice · 04/06/2022 21:05

Good luck to all those who are on their way to meeting their babies! And congratulations to the mums whose little ones are already here. I’m really enjoying reading all your birth stories, thank you for sharing. 😊💜

MrsNT · 04/06/2022 21:22

Has anyone started eating pineapple ? I was tempted to buy it today

destiEos · 04/06/2022 21:30

Thanks @MrsNT 😊

Mucus plug seems to differ a bit by person. Mine was in two parts within a few minutes of eachother and snot-like consistency, about half a little fingers' length and the first one was clear, but the second was light brownish, and pretty gross.

@Prema112, @CurryandSnuggle, @Vimto1991 good luck, sounds like you're all really close!

@Letsbekindplease, that's how I felt, I was 2 weeks off due date and ready for planned c-section, so the opposite really - didn't want him coming of his own accord!

pregnancydiaries · 04/06/2022 22:14

@Vimto1991 @CurryandSnuggle @Prema112 I hope things ramp up for all of you 🤞🏼🤞🏼💗💗

Brightsmoke · 04/06/2022 22:24

Hope you progress quickly @CurryandSnuggle and @Vimto1991

I'm 40+1 now @Letsbekindplease so totally with you on feeling miserable. 0 baby signs here :(

Vimto1991 · 04/06/2022 22:26

Thanks for all the good luck messages, I’m still on a long waiting list but just been given pethidine to get some sleep through the night, and if I get woken up to go across to delivery then that’s a bonus :)
my contractions are so bad, wish baby hadn’t of moved back to back 😫 I can see why people when with any elective CS!! If I have another im asking for that!

unknownscot · 05/06/2022 00:23

I've been in bed since 9 but can't fall asleep at all. I'm so ready to meet this baby but nothing is happening, which I guess Fair enough , I'm only 37+3!

Hope it all goes well for those in tonight and tomorrow morning

X

fpeg · 05/06/2022 05:22

@destiEos what a wonderful write up! Just can't believe hours much you can love them can you?💕 sounds like a very positive experience overall xxx

@Vimto1991 @Prema112 @CurryandSnuggle thinking of you all as you progress, hope you either progressed forward or managed some sleep (or ideally both!) fingers crossed your babies are feeling like it's a 5th June sorta day xxx

Jammymare · 05/06/2022 05:55

Wow, so much has happened since I last looked at this thread, so many babies and new mums, congratulations! And good luck those currently in labour, it’s all making it feel quite real now!
@Letsbekindplease same here, I get the odd twinge which is probably just PGP, but no other signs at 39+3. In fact, apart from some uncomfortable kicks I don’t really feel pregnant anymore, past few nights I’ve managed to sleep for 6 hours solid without needing a wee! I have a sweep booked for Wednesday and my trust books inductions from 41 weeks, although I have to say @Vimto1991 i am feeling sorry for you right now, it does not sound like a fun experience!

Prema112 · 05/06/2022 06:02

Morning ladies, hope you're all feeling well today. @CurryandSnuggle & @Vimto1991 hope you ladies have had a good night and have your babies or are super close to having them!! Vimto so sorry your contractions have been so bad you're doing so amazingly it's been such a slog for you!

Thanks so much @fpeg @destiEos & @pregnancydiaries I had a good nights sleep and contractions seem to have stopped 😔 I'm 40+4 today and I really want to avoid induction but also unwilling to go beyond 41 weeks as for me the risks increase too much for me to be comfortable with. Ergh, come on body/baby!

Going to triage today for my regular monitoring and going to ask for cervical check, sweep and to book induction for Wednesday (41 weeks). Hope the sweep kicks things off again 🤞🏼🙏

MrsM29 · 05/06/2022 13:08

Hi all,
Our little boy was born at 3.48am this morning. Second baby after a first baby via induction which resulted in a 2.5 hr Labour.

Contractions happened on and off all day sat every 10-20 mins but not painful could just feel it happening. Plug also came away.

Went to bed for a few hours then at 1.30am contractions ramped up to every 3-5 mins. At 2.30am thought I’d call in as contractions were getting intense but manageable and because of fast first Labour. They said they were quiet so could go down to get checked. Got to the hospital at 3.34 after a 25 min drive and as soon as I got in the room my body started pushing! He was here at 3.48! Only a minor tear which didn’t need stitches! Very positive experience!

unknownscot · 05/06/2022 13:18

@MrsM29 oh, wow! Congratulations ❤️ Glad it all went well for you x

destiEos · 05/06/2022 13:31

@Brightsmoke 40+1 😮 can't be long to go now!

@unknownscot I was ready at 36, but the little one certainly wasn't - still, the finish line is in sight, right?!

@fpeg I know, it's such a bloody cliché, but I am happy just stroking his tiny cheek for hours 🥰

@Prema112 good luck in triage today, obviously your womb is just too comfy 😬 hopefully curiosity will get the better of the little one and they'll head out soon!

Happy Sunday everyone! Me and my nipple balm are heading back to bed after a shower and lunch, by which time it'll be feeding time again 🥳

destiEos · 05/06/2022 13:33

@MrsM29 congratulations!! 🥳💕👶🏻🌷 Happy birthday little one 💕

fpeg · 05/06/2022 14:11

@MrsM29 congratulations! Your experience very much mirrors mine. If I have a baby number 2 I'll go to hospital sooner rather than later after my first experience as if I'd been any longer I wouldn't have made it.

@destiEos nipple balm and nipple shields for the win 😁 although I'm now at the stage where I can feed without the shields, but I still use them a few times a day for fear the cracking will come back 😬

Octoblockisadick · 05/06/2022 14:48

@MrsM29 congratulations!! Sounds like a brilliant birth.

@Vimto1991 @CurryandSnuggle hope things are goi well for you! And good luck @Prema112 .

Baby doing well here, managing to breastfeed quite well, fine once he's on but oh my god that initial latch 😫. Absolutely toe curling.
Midwife been this morning said my scar looks good and healing well. Also said baby looks really good, no signs of any jaundice or anything. Said his latch looks good and he seems to be feeding well. Think my milk may be changing from colostrum to actual milk, it sounds like bigger mouthfuls when he's swallowing, and my boobs feel fuller.
He didn't sleep the best last night though, fed hourly between 11pm and 3am. Sleept till 7 after that though so not too bad.

Anyone got any breast pad recommendations? I had the lasinoh ones on last night, but they didn't last well with the pulling the bra up and down, they rolled up a lot. And my nipple got stuck to them haha.

DaimDillyDoo · 05/06/2022 15:01

Congrats to everyone that's had their babies!

One week overdue here, accepted induction and psyched myself up for today - called at 12 to get a slot, they had to close the labour suite last night and divert women to another hospital because they were full. There's a backlog now apparently so I need to wait for a call over the next couple of days to be induced (if she doesn't come by then naturally)

So fed up at this point! My back is killing.

destiEos · 05/06/2022 16:18

@fpeg I didn't know if I should do the nipple shields, I read they should be recommended by lactation consultant or something. As little one has quite severe tongue tie I'm not sure I should use those or dummy until he's had it snipped 😢 Also "cracking" made me wince 😂

@Octoblockisadick I feel your pain - the initial latch is indeed agony. I'm going to skip the next round and he can go straight to bottle, as I'm getting close to 'too sore' now. I've finally got actual milk although no idea how much he's getting, he seems to be down to about 60-75ml of formula after a go on each side. He was on about 120ml before the boobs. Hourly sounds terrifying, usually mine is every 3-4 hours, but he can squeeze a random feed in after a couple of hours sometimes.. Think my breast pads are just Tesco ones - whacked them in to go out the other day, but not really leaking. Usually a small dribble from the other boob when I'm feeding and I am NOT brave enough to feed in public yet either ☺️ Yeah, the pads only seen to be useful if they're left in place!

destiEos · 05/06/2022 16:20

@DaimDillyDoo I was seeing a physio and masseuse at 37 weeks and still waking up with back pain! Hope things get moving for you soon 🙏🏻🌷

pregnancydiaries · 05/06/2022 17:37

I can't believe I'm having a baby tomorrow!!! Nervous, but ridiculously over excited FTM over here 😂

Prema112 · 05/06/2022 17:51

Congrats @MrsM29! Sounds like a great birth

Thanks @destiEos & @Octoblockisadick. I've got an indication booked for Wednesday so baby coming soon no matter what.

Oh gosh @pregnancydiaries so exciting!!! Remind me is it an induction or C?

@DaimDillyDoo hope you get your induction or she comes naturally tmw or Tuesday, being overdue is really hard!

EarlGreywithLemon · 05/06/2022 18:04

@Octoblockisadick Do you have disposable or reusable breast pads? I never got on with any of the disposable ones, they never stayed put! But I really liked the Lansinoh reusable ones. The shape seemed to work really well for me.

fpeg · 05/06/2022 18:18

@Octoblockisadick I've been using the Medela ones, but I suspect different people will find different ones work best for them. Mine have been working well for me so far x

@destiEos oops I just decided to get mine as it was so painful... damage was all done in first 24 hours when I let the latch be too shallow! Left has completely healed now but the right probably has 10% to go, can still see the line of the crack.

Good luck for tomorrow @pregnancydiaries

Hope things are progressing well for @Vimto1991 and @CurryandSnuggle

Sorry things appear to have stalled for you @Prema112, hopefully it starts up again soon and gets going properly x
