Congratulations to everyone who's had their babies, so many yesterday and today!

I had my 40 week app today, wasn't able to have a VE or stretch and sweep because the hospital were super busy and diverting people to a hospital miles away, so they didn't want to do it incase I had to go in 😫 I'm on her list to call tomorrow and hopefully she can come out and do it. I've got my induction now booked for next week, they've put that it needs to be by Friday, so just waiting on the official date now. So I'll have a baby by the end of next week 🙌🏻. Just hope he comes alone before he's forced out 😬

EarlGreywithLemon · 02/06/2022 23:28

@pregnancydiaries hello c section twin! 😀 great brew that they finally sorted it!

EarlGreywithLemon · 03/06/2022 03:26

^”that” not “brew”!!!

Prema112 · 03/06/2022 06:06

Morning all, hope you all had good nights. Still pregnant here! Not a hint of a contraction so they were wrong about it being last night. @MrsTwentyNine How are you doing? And @Vimto1991?

@pregnancydiaries, @Brightsmoke @EarlGreywithLemon so great you all have a date!! Not long now!!

@Octoblockisadick thinking of you today!!

@Northofthebordermum It's hard refusing the induction. The term 'going against medical advice' has been used which is scary. I just think with me they've put in 'reduced movement + IVF + high bp = computer says no' without actually looking properly at my context. They just want baby out as it's better/safer for them (she actually said this) but all my CTG's are great, he's moving great, I don't have any of the complications associated with IVF and the raised bp was because I was super nervous about sweep, it came down afterwards. So I don't see a reason for induction. I think you need to weigh the advice with what you know and believe about your baby and your body. Could have have additional monitoring? That's what we've comprised with for now

Prema112 · 03/06/2022 06:07

@InvisibleDragon So glad he's willing to chat, a walk by the sea sounds perfect!

Vimto1991 · 03/06/2022 07:23

@Vimto1991 morning! Had a second pessary at 1:30am, not slept a wink. Contractions aren’t pleasant, induced ones even moreso. 😅 they said I was 1cm dilated when they did the pessary. Really hope it’s progressed loads through the night to make the lack of sleep worth it! Midwives have been fab, even run me a bath, but my codeine was wearing off so I didn’t enjoy it. I’m super worried about running on empty for the actual labour. :(

Octoblockisadick · 03/06/2022 07:54

@EarlGreywithLemon and @pregnancydiaries good luck for Monday!!

Hopefully you are progressing @Vimto1991 , fingers crossed it doesn't get much more uncomfortable for you.

I'm just sat in the bed at the hospital now waiting for someone to come and do my obs and let me know when I'm going down. Making the most of these last baby wriggles on the inside and I took a final bump picture this morning.

Prema112 · 03/06/2022 07:56

@Vimto1991 Aw so sorry you haven't slept, that sucks. Really hope you've dilated lots in the night

CurryandSnuggle · 03/06/2022 07:56

Wow so much has happened!!!!

@MrsTwentyNine @pregnancydiaries thanks for asking after me, however sadly I have not gone into labour. So I had bloody show 2am on Weds (lots of it), lost more mucous plug on Thurs and been getting constant braxton hicks but nothing has happened. It’s my due date today. My cervix is still sore from the sweep on Tuesday and I’m having another one tomorrow, yikes 🙈 but I am hopeful that it will be more successful. Otherwise I’m being induced on 10th.

@Letsbekindplease yes, appetite through the roof here too! Sometimes I wake up at 5am starving 😂

@Octoblockisadick I’m amazed I had the W energy to hike too lol, it did wipe me out after. I’m doing everything to try to induce labour 😂

@Roxystar23 Thinking of you, good luck. I bet it was a shock but you’ll be in safe hands xx

@Vimto1991 Thinking of you too, good luck 🥰 Sorry to read your first pessary hasn’t worked yet, don’t lose hope as I think that’s fairly common.

@Flowerbug1994 omg wow!! Congratulations on your baby boy. 🥰🥰

@Clomid1 wow congratulations on your baby girl!! 🥰🥰

@DaimDillyDoo ooh congratulations on your successful sweep, any update?

@Prema112 aww sorry to read you’ve not gone into labour yet. A successful sweep can take 24-48 hours. Don’t lose hope 🥰

@InvisibleDragon I hope you’re ok and managed to have a good discussion with your husband ❤️

@mrkb Awww wow congratulations. And I’m glad you’re getting the right support re: breastfeeding. It’s a new skill for you and bubba and can take time! Xx

@EarlGreywithLemon ooh did you manage to secure childcare for Monday?

@Brightsmoke aww I hope they can sweep you very soon! that must have been disappointing 😫

CurryandSnuggle · 03/06/2022 07:58

@Octoblockisadick ooh massive good luck for today!! Xx

Letsbekindplease · 03/06/2022 08:21

Good luck today @Octoblockisadick

toull find some energy @Vimto1991 ots amazing what our bodies can deal with through labour. With my first I was awake from Monday noon and baby arrived 4.03am on the Wednesday and I have no sleep in that time. Don’t get me wrong, tired but you find the energy. You’ll be amazing, good luck and hopefully things have progressed loads for you.

well nothing happened here. I did a bit of nip stimulation but had no idea what I was doing. Only did it with one hand whilst watching BGT lol. Woke up this morning with some colostrum marks on bed and top. I was amazed lol.

im going to get on my ball etc today to see if things can progress over the weekend.

RoseValleyRambles · 03/06/2022 08:28

@vimto1991 good luck today! I hope things start to move for you. Sounds like you've got a good midwife team. Baby V will be here soon!

I'm awaiting the phone lines opening in order to hopefully get my c section date. They said it may be next week, so keen to know so I can plan a more or less frantic weekend...

EarlGreywithLemon · 03/06/2022 08:50

@CurryandSnuggle still a while until the 10th, a very good chance things will kick off before that. Fingers crossed!

We are still in limbo on the nursery, tried to call/text/email them several times, but unsurprisingly they’re not around. I think we might get a baby sitter as a back up, but my husband will still try to get her into nursery last minute on Monday. We’ll of course still pay the baby sitter. But she loves nursery and I know she’ll feel happy and safe in that environment.

The twist is - Monday is also my brother in law’s birthday! So we could call my mother in law down, and she’d drop everything and come, no questions asked. She’s lovely like that. But we’d ruin his birthday, as he’s gone to stay with them for it (they live 3.5 hours away).

CurryandSnuggle · 03/06/2022 09:00

@EarlGreywithLemon ah that’s such a tricky one!! Hopefully you can get her in nursery on Monday but a babysitter is a good option.

Fingers crossed re: spontaneous labour. I have had a few painful sensations this morning but can’t work out if it’s baby movements or sore cervix, or SOMETHING happening! Will just have to see if it gets stronger. However I have just been for a wee and had loads of clear discharge with pink spotting mixed in. I’m really hoping I might go into labour today now, and it is my due date…

CurryandSnuggle · 03/06/2022 09:01

It’s weird though as I’m not expecting another proper ‘show’ as I already lost plug and had show on Tuesday. But my cervix is clearly doing something.

EarlGreywithLemon · 03/06/2022 09:02

It sounds very positive @CurryandSnuggle , keeping everything crossed!!

annie1994 · 03/06/2022 09:08

Good luck @Octoblockisadick! And same to @Vimto1991 fingers crossed your induction starts kicking off 🤞🏼

Anyone else a bit jealous of everyone enjoying the jubilee and bank holiday while they are stuck at home feeling so uncomfortable, tired and fed up!!?? And my partner is working the whole time so I’m just bored and lonely 😂

MrsTwentyNine · 03/06/2022 10:29

Hi ladies not sure who tagged me as I'm still spaced out but had contractions 2 hours after my sweep and the baby was here 5am this morning! Feeling very fortunate and over the moon!!! Good luck to you all and hope the bubbas show soon!
@Prema112 @CurryandSnuggle

JAR1981 · 03/06/2022 10:36

Hi @Prema112 and everyone. Sorry I disappeared for a bit there. Our beautiful baby boy Euan Finley James was born on May 18th by emergency caesarean. Labour was crazy fast and the poor little fella struggled to cope. I went from thinking I had blood in my urine and reduced movement at 4am to contractions every 2 mins by 8am (without gas and air at that point which was pretty horrendous!) To being in theatre and him born before 11am.
Unfortunately we both then had a few complications which meant a 6 night stay in hospital but the staff were amazing we got such good care. We came home just over a week ago and are loving getting to know him and all his quirks. He is absolutely gorgeous and I just love him so much. Just wish he’d let us have a bit more sleep think I had underestimated how hard the feeding/changing/sleeping cycle is.

I am never going to find time to catch up on the past 2 weeks so please someone update me! How many babies do we now have in the group? I really hope everyone is doing well whether finally with their little bundle here or in the final stages of pregnancy x

CurryandSnuggle · 03/06/2022 10:43

@MrsTwentyNine wow amazing!!! 🥰🥰🥰 so pleased to read your update. Hope it all went well for you! Did you have a boy or girl? Xx

@JAR1981 omg, congratulations, glad you are both doing better now, sorry to read that you both had complications xx

MrsNT · 03/06/2022 10:56

Congrats so happy for u @MrsTwentyNine how many weeks were you?

MrsNT · 03/06/2022 10:56

And congrats to @jar1981 Aswel..wow so many babies arriving now

MrsNT · 03/06/2022 10:58

Random one but is anyones hair feeling super rough and dry?? Ive tried deep conditioning and a leave in hair mask aswell and still no good.. up until 2 weeks ago my hair was super soft and shiny ..thanks to preg hormones. Not sure if its tailing off now being close to due date ..if thats even a thing??

MrsNT · 03/06/2022 10:59

Ladies who had a sweep..does it hurt and how many weeks were u when they do it?

CurryandSnuggle · 03/06/2022 11:12

@MrsNT when I had a sweep with my son, my body was ready and it didn’t hurt, it was just uncomfortable. This time around I’m not going to lie it hurt and I was squirming in the bed as she was doing it. I could cope but it did hurt, and it’s been tender since. But it wasn’t ready as it was still high up, and she said she tried to manually pull it down! (Didn’t even know they could do that) which is why it hurt so much I reckon.

But don’t panic as it was bearable even if I had to grit my teeth.
