@CurryandSnuggle any update since the plug? I've got a sweep today too and suddenly it's all becoming real like @Prema112 said!! Good luck @Prema112 !!

I had this issue too! They didn't offer the sweep as I'm under 40 weeks then we insisted that the MW speak to the consultant and see if it's an option and suddenly I've got one today at 2pm. Not looking forward to being uncomfortable as I've already got backache and my "plug" keeps coming out in bits so wondering if I'm already pre-labour state ?! (If that's a thing)

@MrsTwentyNine how many weeks are you again?
I'll try contacting the midwife as don't have a nkber or anything for the consultant (which is a whole other story that I think is ridiculous!)

I'm 38+1 today and being induced for potential big baby next week. How about you? Yeah give them a call! Mine emailed the consultant and got the the okay!

I phoned the midwife clinic there but they weren't very helpful - the receptionist did take my details and query though and will hopefully pass it on.

I asked for a sweep Monday or Tuesday (37+5, 37+6) as I'm booked for induction on Wednesday at 38 weeks.

@InvisibleDragon that's a really tough situation and sending you a big hug ❤️ I don't have a solution for you just solidarity. I know these things are a huge part of some religions and deeply ingrained in those cultures. For me personally I don't believe in it and see it as an unnecessary procedure that should now be outdated (much like tail docking and dew claw removal in dogs!), but I also can see that's my personal view. Hope you managed to find peace with whatever solution you find between you and your husband 💕

How many new babies in the thread 😍 Congratulations to you all who already have your little ones and to the ones being induced today! I feel so jealous as I have the feeling that my baby will wait until July to make her appearance 😂😂😂

They won't even speak to my consultant - her clinic runs on a Friday and they are closed tomorrow.

For being consultant led I think the care has been below average on the most part.

Ah well, induction on Wednesday. Let's hope it goes smoothly. Now wondering if I've made the correct decision.

the delivery suite here is chockablock so they held off on the first pessary until now. No idea how many I’ll need or how long it’ll take as my cervix is still closed. DH is going to sleep in the car in the car park tonight so fingers crossed tonight/tomorrow baby vimto will also be here. 🙈

By the sounds of it we will have quite a few more babies being born in next day or so!!

@InvisibleDragon thats such a difficult position. Personally I’m against circumcision unless medically needed but that’s my opinion. I do understand in some religions it’s really important tho, do the NHS do circumcision for religious reasons?

@Prema112 I've just re-read your message! Yess we are similar! I've got a bit of brown tinged mucus type discharge and backache too. Was your baby back to back by any chance? Mine has his back to the side so was wondering if that's causing the back pain...fingers crossed for us!! 🤞🏽🤞🏽 Can't believe we are this dilated without even knowing!!

@InvisibleDragon That's such a tough situation ❤️ Does it need to be done at a specific time? (Is it day 8?) If not could you delay it and chat more?

@MrsTwentyNine Baby's back is also to the side! I went to triage afterwards and they were all saying we will see you later this eve as you'll be in labour so I'm hoping they are right but also I think you can be at 2/3cm for days so who knows... fingers crossed for you!

@Prema112 oh I can't believe how similar our situation is 🤣 Ahh I so hope your triage staff are right for both of us!! If not, do you have induction booked ? Good luck to us both!

@MrsTwentyNine They've been keen to induce me since 38 weeks (2 weeks ago) because I had 1 episode of reduced movement but I've said no so far. Would probs have an induction at 41 weeks if nothing happens but hoping won't need it! She said I was completely effaced, not really sure what that means but sounds good 😂

@Prema112 sounds good - I think that's what your cervix is meant to do right so can only mean a good thing! I'm getting period cramps now as well as back pain Is this it...is this the start? Or is this just because of the sweep! So hard to know when you're a FTM 😭

@MrsTwentyNine Cramps are good! I suppose you only know it's labour if they progress and become stronger so hopefully they will. I don't have cramps just a sore back. So weird waiting around for it to start!
