@Vimto1991 I did readjust pretty quickly after the first pregnancy, so fingers crossed it’s the same for you!

Octoblockisadick · 31/05/2022 15:56

Oh @CurryandSnuggle I'm sorry ☹️. I'm in with consultant now, growth tailed off quite a lot so she's trying to get me a section for Friday as she's a bit concerned about the placenta blood flow and I've said no to induction eek!

Oh wow @PleaseSendNoodles congratulations!! Sounds like an absolute whirlwind, glad everything is OK.

RoseValleyRambles · 31/05/2022 15:57

@pleasesendnoodles Congratulations! So stoked that it all went ok. Looking forward to those pics.

Northofthebordermum · 31/05/2022 16:20

Wow congrats to all the new mums! Quite weird reading all these birth stories as I’m not due until the 29th June, don’t finish work until the 17th and generally do NOT feel ready for this baby to come just yet! 😬 but hoping for a naturally occurring vaginal birth like I had with my DS.

@PleaseSendNoodles huge congrats that’s so amazingly brave you did all that on your own without your partner! I hope he’s made it back by now to meet the new arrival and give you some support!

My DH was away with work all last week and of course that was the week DS got ill and my mum ended up in A&E and it was just generally the most stressful and exhausting week ever. Wishing I was finishing work a bit earlier tbh, I knackered and we’ve just moved house and so much to do!

annie1994 · 31/05/2022 16:44

@RoseValleyRambles was it quite easy to get consultant to agree to bringing c section forward? My baby is transverse (36 weeks tomorrow) and midwife said I’d have to be admitted at 37 weeks because of risk of cord prolapse if he is still transverse at next scan. But I really don’t want that as I have a toddler at home that I don’t want to be away from for that long! I was thinking surely if I’m having a c section anyway can’t they just bring it forward?

I’ve not got the obstetrician till Monday and then scan on the Wednesday next week (I’ll be 37 weeks) personally feel like that’s cutting it fine . Sorry for essay 😂

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/05/2022 16:45

Just spoke to the C-section booking coordinator and they offered me either to stick with 10 June (39+5) or to have the section tomorrow (38+3)!

The other option is to keep it on Friday the 10th, but also put me on the waiting list for any cancellations earlier next week. We went for that, as tomorrow is incredibly last minute with sorting childcare for our daughter. My husband would also just be dropping tools without warning at work, and going on paternity for four weeks! But now I’m wondering if I made the right choice, hoping for a cancellation, and really hoping I don’t go into labour naturally in the next ten days!!

GrowBabyGrow · 31/05/2022 17:17

Congratulations @PleaseSendNoodles ! Glad you are home now and that your partner has been able to get back to be with you. In awe that you gave birth without your partner - super woman!

Is anyone else finding that maternity pads are really hard to get hold of at the moment? I only had one pack which I naively thought would be enough until I read you should have two just in your hospital bag... I've ordered some off Amazon from a brand I have never heard of for £4 a pack (!) because Boots, Tescos etc are all out online and in store. Has there been a huge baby boom or something?!

Katiebaby13 · 31/05/2022 17:22

@Lostintranslatio thanks, I didn't even think about massaging it. I just assumed it's because of my weight gain from the pregnancy and I just have to put up with it. I'll ask him to give me a massage tonight.

@PleaseSendNoodles wow. Congratulations. What an achievement doing it by yourself. That must have been such a long journey back for your husband.

CurryandSnuggle · 31/05/2022 17:32

@GrowBabyGrow i thought it was just me having that problem re: maternity pads, ended up getting tena incontinence pads!

@Octoblockisadick Aww sorry to read about growth tailing off. You’re doing the right thing if there’s concern about the placenta. Good luck for Friday xx

Well I’ve got second sweep booked in for Saturday and an induction booked for 10th (last resort). Let’s see what happens. I don’t want to get excited but I’m spotting following that incomplete sweep earlier!

Brightsmoke · 31/05/2022 17:39

Sorry he's being so pants @Octoblockisadick men just don't get it do they. Have they said what percentile/weight growth is? How're you feeling about C section Friday?

@PleaseSendNoodles congratulations, sounds a bit chaotic you poor thing!

There's an amazing app for babies, it helps parents know why they're being grouchy when they appear to have no reason. It's called the wonder weeks. I found it so useful with my son

MrsNT · 31/05/2022 18:29

Has anyone heard from @clomid1 hope she and baby are doing ok

MrsNT · 31/05/2022 18:30

@growbabygrow i ordered lilets from amazon .its a pack of 3 with 10 each so a total of 30. Ive kept 1 pack i.e 10 in hospital bag.. wondering if thats enough

Octoblockisadick · 31/05/2022 18:48

Ugh I had just typed out a full message and lost it.

@EarlGreywithLemon I'm sure you'll be fine, and if you do go into labour I'm sure they would do the section as an emergency so try not to worry.

@GrowBabyGrow I've managed to get some from asda, mine had quite a few packs in so might be worth a look? My hospital keeps pads so I'm sure if you were short while there they wouldn't leave you without. Same for baby milk, they tell you to take your own as they don't provide it but I know for a fact they keep it in case its needed at my hospital.

@Brightsmoke he seems better now that we have a specific plan in place tbh. Baby was tracking on 98%, but has only gained around 100g in the last 2 weeks based on the scan when they wouldve expected almost 400g. The section wasnt my first choice, but honestly I'm a lot happier with having it due to an actual concern than i was purely based on an expected big baby. It feels like more of the right choice for me and baby rather than me giving up on my preference for a vbac.

Also wondering ababou@Clomid1 , hope everything OK!

Plan for me is pre op tomorrow, admission to the ward Thursday due to the growth concern and section first thing Friday. Section wouldve been Thursday but the list is full so they can't accommodate, but they want me in just in case it becomes an emergency.

MrsNT · 31/05/2022 19:09

Also question for any ladies who were on metaformin..i had call with consultant today and she told me to stop taking it now. (37 weeks)
What guidance have you recieved regarding it if you were on it during pregnancy

beansprout55 · 31/05/2022 19:12

@Katiebaby13 get your partner to watch this! I also wake up a billion times a night to switch sides as my hips and lower back are in agony. Especially worse if I forget to sleep with a giant pillow between my thighs (you're doing that right?) - DH does this to me every morning to wake me up and it feels SO good.

@PleaseSendNoodles congratulations! Clever brave mummy! How much did baby girl weigh? Were you expecting an early arrival? I'm so rubbish at remembering! Either way, so happy for you!😘😘😘

@Clomid1 been thinking about you all day! Hope you're ok xx

I had my 36 week MW check today (I'm 36+2) - so my last one hopefully will be at 38 weeks. We haven't talked about the birth yet at all, I was kind of expecting today she would have gone through stuff with me to help me make a birth plan but she just measured bump, BP and urine check and I was on my way. At what stage of pregnancy did you all have that chat? (I'm Jersey so not NHS) x

RoseValleyRambles · 31/05/2022 19:24

@annie1994 the consultant suggested it herself. I suspect it's easier for them than all the monitoring.

pregnancydiaries · 31/05/2022 21:03

@PleaseSendNoodles massive congrats! Getting straight onto FB to check those pics. So glad hubby is home now. How long will he be able to stay? 💗

@CurryandSnuggle sorry today didn't go to plan ☹️ hopefully it all happens quickly...you never know xx

@Octoblockisadick sorry today has gone from rubbish to more rubbish, but sounds like you're in really good hands and how exciting you'll get to meet little bubba soon. Hope DH has apologised!!xx

Katiebaby13 · 31/05/2022 21:29

@beansprout55 thanks so much for that video. I have sent it to my partner and we are going to do it tonight when we get into bed 🙂

Yer i have a pillow but I'm not sure how much I enjoy it. I usually end up kicking it out of bed

beansprout55 · 31/05/2022 22:05

You can experiment with different massage techniques, we do! Just tell your partner what feels good, I groan and don't speak if it's nice 😂! I love it when he makes my hips do big circular movements, and vigorously! It makes everything loosen up. Urghhh I want one now. Enjoy xx @Katiebaby13

I don't have FB myself but I joined the group weeks ago on DH's account and just went on to see @PleaseSendNoodles baby pics but I can't even find the group?! 🙁 anyone have the link?x

Oh and @Vimto1991, your description of that weird feeling that sometimes comes over you when sat in certain positions "like soul leaving body"(lol) is spot on! I have that too. I can't describe it. It's like baby is leaning on my heart and it's going to slowly stop beating?? 😂 maybe?! I don't know. I think we have the same thing though, whatever it is!

PlodandPod · 31/05/2022 22:10

@beansprout55

The group was made private as we were getting a lot of join requests from people and couldn't verify who they were, sorry if that's meant you can't find it!

@Brightsmoke and I have kept it to people from our thread only, knowing that we'll likely all be sharing baby photos etc and we didn't want strangers to have access to them :)

fb.me/g/p_GxHwQUcUkBp2CTzq/DPoEyhT0

This link hopefully lasts for 2 days according to Facebook if anyone else would like to join who hasn't already! x

unknownscot · 31/05/2022 23:56

Struggling to sleep because of the cramp/tightness in my legs.

Come on baby! Just get out and make everything better 😂

Prema112 · 01/06/2022 00:07

@unknownscot Also struggling to sleep as baby going mad and kicking up a storm! I find pushing my heel down and bringing my toes up helps with cramps x

sunflower198 · 01/06/2022 00:59

Hi All - my little boy arrived on Monday morning via elective c section at 38weeks - 7lbs5oz 😊 it was a great experience, very relaxed and calm in theatre (compared to previous EMCS).
I had gestational diabetes hence the early section and both Baby and I passed all our blood sugars checks and was discharged Tuesday afternoon and so glad to be home.

CurryandSnuggle · 01/06/2022 02:21

@sunflower198 lovely update and massive congratulations, great news that you are both doing well and are home 😁
