@MrsNT I've got mainly sleepsuits/bodysuits, 2 rompers, 1 little going home outfit and been gifted 2 knitted cardigans. Only have a very small amount of newborn stuff cause baby has been measuring 90th percentile + for the past 9 weeks so don't reckon I'll need it 😂

@Octoblockisadick what a thing to say! Your whole body/life/routine is going through change at the minute so of course you aren't the same. Not to mention hormones! I'm certainly not the same person I was in my early 20s and thank god I'm not. People are constantly growing and changing. Maybe he's feeling a bit displaced (not sure if thats the right word) at the prospect of a big life event and not handled it very well in the moment?

@fpeg love seeing your photos 😍 and hearing a positive birth story! It's really adding to the excitement. Massive congratulations

@Clomid1 Hope things have progressed for you 🤞 I'm due around the same time as you so hoping I'll go naturally soon. Its certainly not fair for them not to be giving you any sort of pain relief when it's that bad!

I finish work tomorrow 🎉 and my motivation to do anything work related is quickly dwindling to zero 😂 just want to clean my house/sleep/pack a hospital bag/sit in the unfinished nursery and imagine it with this little baba in it. Anyone else not find out what they're having yet? I'm not booked for ELCS or induction and I don't know baby's gender so feeling super unorganised/underprepared compared to you all 😂

Octoblockisadick · 31/05/2022 10:25

@pregnancydiaries I had PND after my daughter was born, so I'm hoping he's just remembering that and worrying about me but I'm not convinced.
@needarainbow thank you. The hormones are probably making me take it harder too, I'm crying a lot and barely slept. I can't seem to hold it together.

fpeg · 31/05/2022 10:33

@pregnancydiaries things going well thank you, I definitely do love being a mum ☺️ I know it's not for everyone but I've been following Gina Ford contented baby and establishing a routine. I find it works really well for me and we generally only get one wake up at night and then wakes about 6:30 in the morning. We don't always get the routine right and the afternoons tend to be where it's most variable, but in general I've been really impressed and it suits me and baby well (I work best with routine). We've had our first proper up the back nappy too, so I feel like I've hit a really parenting milestone with that 😂

It's amazing watching her develop, she has more awake time now and is starting to show some eye contact and you can see she's working out how her arms work. They're just so easy to love 💕

MrsTwentyNine · 31/05/2022 10:58

Sorry to hear how awful your OH was @Octoblockisadick but don't let it get to you. It just must be the stress! Doesn't make it acceptable though and hope he apologises soon. Not what you need right now with all the other stress!

Good luck to all the ladies having babies today/ tomorrow!!

pregnancydiaries · 31/05/2022 11:08

Sounds like it could well be panic and worry, but let him be the one to tell you that don't give him that as an excuse! How are things this morning? @Octoblockisadick xx

pregnancydiaries · 31/05/2022 11:10

@fpeg love this so much. I'm also one who really needs routine, as is DP, in fact he probably needs it more than me so I will give Gina a follow. Do you just follow on Instagram or is there a book etc? Can't believe how well your little one is doing at night time already!💗

When you said she's "working out how her arms work" I ran into my partners office to show him how cute a comment it was and he loved it just as much, so cute!!!xx

unknownscot · 31/05/2022 11:11

Has anyone had on and off stitch like pain on one side? Is that braxton hicks?

X

fpeg · 31/05/2022 12:17

@pregnancydiaries it's a book called the "new contented little baby book" and I'm just following what it says in there and just not getting stressed when we have parts that aren't quite working out on any given day. As I say, working well for us but I can 100% see that it won't be for everyone (Sarah Ockwell-Smith isn't for me but I know several people who love her). All part of what makes us all wonderfully different ☺️

Flowerbug1994 · 31/05/2022 12:29

@unknownscot ive had this twice on my left side like high up on my waist I got it last week leaving a scan and got it yesterday coming out of a restaurant. I though it was just me moving around or being on my feet to much them days. It’s painful though it makes me stop.

CurryandSnuggle · 31/05/2022 13:03

Bit gutted, cervix still quite far back. Was able to get a bit of a finger in and she said cervix is soft at least. But couldn’t do a full sweep and said it was unlikely to work 😫 a little bit sad, was hoping tonight would be the night.

Prema112 · 31/05/2022 13:20

Ahh @CurryandSnuggle Sorry to hear- that's disappointing. But good that it's softening!! It won't be too long now. When's your son back with you?

Prema112 · 31/05/2022 14:05

@unknownscot I've had quite a lot of stitch like pain in 3rd trimester, mainly at bottom of bump. Not sure what it's linked to but I think it's fairly common

Prema112 · 31/05/2022 14:06

@fpeg loving the updates and pictures! Like someone else said, it makes me really excited for labour so I can cuddle my baby! Would've been her due date tmw!

Vimto1991 · 31/05/2022 14:18

I’m also one for the random stitch pain, feels like a ligament pain. Probably from how big we are at this point!
had my covid swab today, hope it comes back negative, can’t see why it wouldn’t. Saw a consultant that wasn’t my usual, she was very pushy for a sweep but i firmly told her no twice, i also told her how I’m feeling faint/fast heart rate when sat in certain ways and she downplayed it to pregnancy and since I’m induced in two days nothing more I can do. 🙃 anyone else feeling weak sat/lying in certain ways? Feels like my soul is leaving my body. 😬

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/05/2022 14:37

@Vimto1991 yes, there are definitely positions I can’t tolerate lying down. I am also generally extremely breathless
and have lots of palpitations. I have been seen in a regular joint cardiac/obstetrics consultant clinic though and they are also fairly sure it’s pregnancy related.

PleaseSendNoodles · 31/05/2022 14:38

Sorry I vanished from the thread… I hope you’re all okay. I’ll find some time to catch up on all the posts soon. It’s been a crazy two weeks and baby girl arrived 5 weeks early. In case you’re interested, here’s what happened… sorry it’s quite a long story!

My waters started leaking in my prenatal yoga class on Tuesday 17th… was a bit self conscious think maybe I’d peed myself a little during pigeon pose 😳…
later that evening I started to think something wasn’t right and I eventually drove myself to the hospital at 3am. I started having some mild contractions on the way.

The hospital confirmed it was my waters and offered me steroid shots and the chance to wait 24 to 48 hours to help baby’s lungs mature a little more. I called my husband to alert him and he started making his way home from overseas.

24 hours in and contractions had ramped up and it was clear we couldn’t wait any longer. Baby girl was born by c-section at 4:06am at 35+5 weeks on Thursday 19th… as she was still breech. Her daddy was able to join us by speakerphone from an airport and later in person.

She spent 10 days in the NICU to practice a few things she was too little to have learned yet - including remembering to breathe! She finally came home on Sunday 😊

Will post this on our Facebook group along with some photos.

CurryandSnuggle · 31/05/2022 14:42

@PleaseSendNoodles omg, congratulations! What a whirlwind it must have been for you but so amazing too ❤️

CurryandSnuggle · 31/05/2022 14:44

@Prema112 my son is due back on Sunday as he has school Monday and the grandparents live 2 hours away.

I am waiting for midwife to text confirming what date she was able to get me in for second sweep. Either Saturday or Monday. But I am provisionally booked in for induction on 10th. However have the stress of figuring out childcare again if she doesn’t come this week!

InvisibleDragon · 31/05/2022 14:47

Congratulations @PleaseSendNoodles ! So glad your little one is home safe with you now!

Lovely pictures @fpeg - it's so exciting seeing all of our new arrivals!

Vimto1991 · 31/05/2022 14:47

@EarlGreywithLemon ooh interesting! Maybe it’s the strain on our bodies? I’ve had echocardiograms and ecgs and all picked up fine (other than a slightly enlarged right valve but they also think that’s pregnancy related). I’ve taken to just readjusting until I feel better how I’m sat. 😅 hoping as soon as baby is here I start to feel normal again! I didn’t feel like this pre pregnancy lying down so it has to be pregnancy related, just wasn’t sure if it could be iron related.

Prema112 · 31/05/2022 14:54

Oh wow @PleaseSendNoodles!! So glad she's ok, what a whirlwind! Sorry to hear your husband didn't quite make it, I know that was a worry for you, I hope the hospital staff were amazing and good to hear he is with you now.

Gosh you must be so delighted she is here!!

fpeg · 31/05/2022 14:59

@PleaseSendNoodles what a journey! I'm delighted for you that little one is home with you now and that her daddy was able to get to you fairly quickly. I still get all emotional reading about new deliveries as it reminds me all over again meeting them for the first time 💕 huge congratulations ❤️

Lostintranslatio · 31/05/2022 15:09

@PleaseSendNoodles congratulations on your little girl ❤️❤️❤️

@Katiebaby13 for the pain when lying on your hips, if you can't get a physio appointment, ask your partner for a massage in the area. My DP does it every second/third day and since the first time he did it the pain has been gone.

EarlGreywithLemon · 31/05/2022 15:10

@PleaseSendNoodles oh my word, a whirlwind indeed! Big big congrats, and so delighted that you now have your little one at home to cuddle!
