@Vimto1991 mine still doesn't have underwear in it 🤣. Going to chuck some bras and knickers in it and put it in the car just in case I think.
I'm 38w tomorrow by scan dates, 38+1 by my dates I think (definitely no earlier cause it would be physically impossible haha), potentially a couple days later.

@Prema112 fingers crossed! I've been crampy on and off since Monday, Tuesday was the worst, I could barely walk in the morning. I had a 2 hour bath though which stopped everything.

Vimto1991 · 27/05/2022 09:37

@Octoblockisadick i still have things to add like lucozade, a toothbrush, a regular brush!! I’ve got my maternity knickers in it, they’re so comfy, and now they’re packed I can’t wear them and I miss them. 😂
The extra items have been sat on the side waiting for me to go to the boot of my car all week 😂 I’m 38+2 but get what you mean by physically impossible. My conception date would be the 14th September - where we did try for a baby, but it was the day my period had ended so not even sure how that’s possible. 😂 such a mystery surrounding that period, part of me thinks it was implantation bleeding and I actually conceived before that whilst on honeymoon (which would mean I’m due this week 👀)

Jammymare · 27/05/2022 09:45

@Vimto1991 I’ve not even started packing my bag yet, it is a must do job for today after I woke up with cramping at 2am this morning and had a bit of a panic!

Has everyone else received a breakdown of their maternity pay amounts from their employers? I requested a breakdown 2 weeks ago but still waiting. I officially started maternity leave on 16th May. I have used the government calculator to work out my SMP but it’s different to what is actually on my payslip. On my payslip my SMP is less but OMP is more which is worrying as my OMP doesn’t last for very long!

Roxystar23 · 27/05/2022 11:03

Happy Friday Everyone!

I’m another one in the random morning cramping club. I’ve had it the last two mornings but it’s gone now. Painful enough to make me just sit still and not move and question “could this be the start?”. So weird!

Yesterday my baby was moving so much, my belly was constantly rising and falling - I’m sure they’re looking for the exit. Still having multiple episodes of hiccups a day too - poor thing!

I can’t wait to break up from work on Wednesday - I’ve had two introduction meetings go in my diary on my last day. I want to email back and ask “is there really any point? Can’t we just do it when I come back to work?”.

Letsbekindplease · 27/05/2022 12:10

I feel like im
hardly getting any movements at all today. Just a wee poke and movement here and there but nothing significant. Trying not to worry.

DaimDillyDoo · 27/05/2022 12:23

I've had cramps this morning too and tightening but nothing has come of it so far. She's due on Sunday so hopefully not too much longer to wait.

Is anyone else getting a little scared of the pain that is on the way? I want a vaginal birth ideally and now I'm panicking at the thought of it!

Jammymare · 27/05/2022 12:40

@DaimDillyDoo yes I’m quite terrified tbh. I had really painful trapped wind yesterday and all I could think was labour will be worse… 🙈
I want an epidural because I’m scared of the pain, but I also don’t want an epidural because I’m scared of the increased risks of instrumental delivery and birth injuries.
I think really it’s all just a fear of the unknown (control freak here).

Octoblockisadick · 27/05/2022 12:41

@Vimto1991 I've got lucozade and some Cereal bars in an asda bag in the boot haha. I technically would conceived 18th September where we spent the whole day either driving or on an airplane so no chance at all haha. I definitely ovulated on the 16th at the latest. I also had quite bad 1st trimester symptoms from a good week before my missed period though which would suggest I conceived earlier. Would also make sense of the fact he is a giant haha!

@Jammymare I've not yet. I requested it ages ago, and was told I would get it at the end of April after they had processed the pay slips but I never did, I've chased since but not heard anything. Going to try again next week I think.

mrkb · 27/05/2022 13:45

Glad everyone can relate to the tiny pointless wees 😂 just had my blood tests done for Monday and finished work! All feeling very real now and cannot wait to meet baby girl!

Vimto1991 · 27/05/2022 14:51

@Jammymare i got my breakdown and I do need to check it as I got paid on the 25th and want to make sure my SMP is right! I’d try chasing your employee - I’m sure they have to provide that breakdown for you.

@Letsbekindplease same for this baby. I’m getting movements but they’re tiiiiiny so I’m putting it down to position and not panicking as atleast I am feeling something! I have noticed they can be quieter after lunch time, but been a bit quiet all day today. Probably so squished in there it’s the best they’ve got.

@DaimDillyDoo yeah I’m starting to get a bit anxious about the pain. I think I do well with pain but as a FTM I’m a bit terrified. I’ve seen some clips of one born every child on Facebook and how quickly some go from gas and air to epidural is worrying haha.

@Octoblockisadick i guess it’s a bit of a guessing game really! No wonder babies are all different weights and birth dates not lining up with due dates!

@mrkb congrats on breaking up!! 🥳🥳

Letsbekindplease · 27/05/2022 15:04

@Vimto1991 I might call triage. I can feel something but it’s not her usual. I’m just so anxious that so close to the end and I’d hate for anything to be wrong. I’ve just had a double decker sweet and a strawberry tart to see if it gets her moving lol. (Any excuse)

i actually found the contractions the sore part of pregnancy. The pushing wasn’t sore at all. (Not for me anyway) I had gas and air and diamorphine. I honestly thought the pushing would be the worst. My friend actually agreed with me. I have a very low pain threshold so the fact I’m doing this again should reassure anyone haha.

Vimto1991 · 27/05/2022 15:20

@Letsbekindplease ah fair enough, better to err on the side of caution if something doesn’t seem right, but hopefully the sugar helps!! Got my fingers crossed for you!
My baby doesn’t have a ‘usual’ so I kind of have to take each day as a new day. ☹️ Does make me worry constantly, end up checking each hour if I’ve had movements.

Letsbekindplease · 27/05/2022 15:21

…aaaaand she’s moving about fantastic! Honestly! The whole day she has been very quiet. What a relief

Vimto1991 · 27/05/2022 16:10

@Letsbekindplease that’s fantastic! 😄 just wanted a sugar fix haha

Octoblockisadick · 27/05/2022 16:22

@Letsbekindplease that actually is reassuring thank you! So glad baby is moving better now too.

I've managed to buy the last things for my hospital bag now. I also bought some clary sage and peppermint essential oils for my diffuser hoping that it might help push the cramps into proper labour haha. Worth a try at this point I reckon!

pregnancydiaries · 27/05/2022 16:51

@destiEos my baby brain has made me forget if I already congratulated you or not, so if not - massive congratulations and hope you and gorgeous boy are recovering well 🤍 xx

Cramps here too ladies, and I'm only 36+4...

pansytub · 27/05/2022 17:00

I've finished work!!! Feels super weird - anyone else in the same boat?

Yes, finished today at 38 weeks. Feeling a bit more real now!

OP posts:
DaimDillyDoo · 27/05/2022 18:20

I've just purchased some clary sage... I'm not sure whether I dare use it or not 😂

Clomid1 · 27/05/2022 18:53

@DaimDillyDoo ooo my consultant recommended that!

@PlodandPod and @pansytub I am still allowed to work from home so literally going on mat leave when I got into labour 🙈

Octoblockisadick · 27/05/2022 19:25

@DaimDillyDoo @Clomid1 I've got it in my diffuser with some peppermint to freshen it. Not sure if it's placebo effect but I'm definitely getting more cramps!
Not many, but feel more regular and stronger than what I've had up to now.

DaimDillyDoo · 27/05/2022 20:20

I've got in the bath with a couple of drops... I'm attempting a shave everywhere 😂 I'll probably end up with thrush from the clary sage and a million cuts and nicks because I can't see my lower half!

Prema112 · 27/05/2022 20:46

@DaimDillyDoo You're brave! I attempted a shave but gave up as couldn't see anything!!

CurryandSnuggle · 27/05/2022 20:56

I feel mega weird, 39 weeks today and getting sweep on Tuesday so grandparents (who live 2 hours away) have come to collect DS for half term. It’s now just me and hubby in the house. And today was probably the last day we were together as a family of 3 before it is probable that DD will be born. I know there’s no guarantees but a sweep was very effective in inducing my labour with DS.

DaimDillyDoo · 27/05/2022 21:04

@Prema112 Mission aborted due to cut to nether regions. I repeat mission aborted.

@CurryandSnuggle I have my sweep on Wednesday, I've heard they don't really work from a few people so your story is reassuring! Hoping it works for you (and me!) :-)
