She calla herself Waa Waa! Her actual name is Louisa, but she refuses to call herself "Weeser" and insists that her name is Waa Waa 🤣

CurryandSnuggle · 26/05/2022 21:52

@slowrunningteacher hahaha awww that is so cute!!! 😍 love it!

Brightsmoke · 26/05/2022 22:34

Congratulations @destiEos 🥰

I had a scan today. He's now measuring at 9lb 13oz. I know it's not necessarily accurate, but it's beginning to scare me about birthing him. I'm massively conflicted on what I want to do. I'm 'signed off' for a homebirth until 40 weeks, which being next week I don't think he'll make an appearance. Then I'm hoping midwife will be ok to push until Monday 6th as nothing else will be booked over BH weekend anyway. Then I don't know wether to wait it out until 42 weeks but agree to MLU, have a full induction, or have a single pessary then C section if it doesn't work 😬

Was my last day at work today. Maternity officially starts at the weekend 🙌🏻

Vimto1991 · 26/05/2022 23:10

@Brightsmoke fingers crossed he decides to come out for you! Congrats on starting your maternity!! I suppose you need to think of what will be best for you and baby, hopefully he’s not as big as the estimate, birthing seems to be one of those complicated tasks but is also completely natural lol

anyone else on maternity?
ive been getting questions from my team, which at the start of my maternity leave when it was annual leave I was fine with, but this week is the start of my official maternity leave, and with my company not paying me anything (just get SMP), I am less inclined to keep answering their messages if they aren’t paying me for it!! 😡

MrsTwentyNine · 26/05/2022 23:38

@mrkb tiny pointless wees...ahaha story of my life. This is why I love being able to read this thread and share the craziness that is this period of our lives 😂😂

MrsTwentyNine · 26/05/2022 23:38

@Vimto1991 totally unreasonable...pretty sure that's NOT allowed!

MrsTwentyNine · 26/05/2022 23:53

Someone here mentioned drooling a few threads ago..
I'm waking up with a wet pillow with drool yuck ..what a strange pregnancy symptom ?!?

Rolledthedice · 27/05/2022 01:11

@MrsTwentyNine I drool so much it’s gross!

fpeg · 27/05/2022 04:40

@destiEos he's absolutely gorgeous ❤️, congratulations 💕

unknownscot · 27/05/2022 07:33

@MrsTwentyNine
Haha I drool without pregnancy 🤣

CurryandSnuggle · 27/05/2022 07:44

@Vimto1991 I would inform them that you are now on maternity leave and will only be looking to discuss work on official keeping in touch days, especially as you are not being paid for your leave. This is your time and you’re entitled to it ❤️ Be very matter of fact about it. Last thing you want is work messages when your baby is here. This will set boundaries early.

@MrsTwentyNine yep, keep finding myself drooling at night and snoring. So attractive 😂

MrsTwentyNine · 27/05/2022 07:58

Haha glad I'm not the only one! @CurryandSnuggle @unknownscot @Rolledthedice

New problem now, my blood sugars have gone off slightly despite my GTT being normal at 28 weeks test. Delayed gestational diabetes ?! Not this now I'm so close to the end 😭

NorthDevonBeachLover · 27/05/2022 08:21

@destiEos huge congratulations x

Prema112 · 27/05/2022 08:26

@mrkb So exciting not long to wait at all!!

@beansprout55 Yeah it's a little strange. I agree I'd be looking at induction once I was about a week late

@Clomid1 Interesting you've been out on 2x Ctg weekly as well, I suppose it's standard practise. I don't mind the extra monitoring at all except when it takes 5 hours out of the day. Not like I have loads else going on though! Although next week will be trickier as it's half term

@Octoblockisadick They've mentioned the fact it's IVF a few times but when I asked why that makes it riskier they said things like increased risk of GD, preeclampsia neither of which I have. And they checked the placenta on Monday and it was in excellent condition

@CurryandSnuggle I said I'd rather wait unless they think baby is at risk and she just started talking about general risks of reduced movements which aren't relevant to me

Prema112 · 27/05/2022 08:31

'Tiny Pointless Wees' The title of an album about the third trimester?

Prema112 · 27/05/2022 08:35

'Hurling In Secret' First trimester album name

Second trimester? 'Where Is The Promised Energy?!'

Letsbekindplease · 27/05/2022 08:35

@MrsTwentyNine ah the drooling. It’s a nightly thing for me. And daily if I nap lol.

CurryandSnuggle · 27/05/2022 08:43

@Prema112 loving the album names. Second trimester I’d opt for something like “I’m ready for the pregnancy glow” (mine never came, I just hit hideously painful spots. Bizarrely I glow more in third trimester even though my bladder is painfully squashed and has me wincing!)

CurryandSnuggle · 27/05/2022 08:44

*got painful spots (I didn’t hit myself in painful spots… just to clarify 😂)

Vimto1991 · 27/05/2022 09:01

Thanks for your advice re: work guys. I encouraged them to find guides via google rather than me showing them how to do something, if they want more I’ll ask them to put it in as a KIT day. I think that was my last goodwill day helping them out, considering this is my fourth week off, hopefully they will stop bothering me, and if they don’t, I’ll lay it out to them that I am on maternity not being paid not on bloody holidays!! One of my colleagues actually said enjoy your break. Break?? 🤦‍♀️

also this morning woke up with light period pain, lower back ache, needing the loo when I didn’t need to go, my belly feels so stretched and achey. Fell back asleep, woke up and…. Nada. All gone except the belly hurting. Fml!! Just want something to start 😂

Clomid1 · 27/05/2022 09:03

@Prema112 yh sometimes mine takes that long too. I have no idea why? It’s all about timing I feel. You need to get an appointment before 10am and then they’ll see you quickly. After lunch they are super slow I find. My one also send you to triage if you have a late appointment like a 5pm one. In triage you then have to wait until all the emergency patients have been seen so you’re there forever really.

@Octoblockisadick Is there a danger to you if you go into labour rather than having a c-section?
If there is then defo go with the earlier date. I think I am just going to wait and see what they recommend on Tuesday. If they say 39 weeks is it that bad if I take it? But then I know a lot can go wrong with induction? Urghhh so hard to decide!

Prema112 · 27/05/2022 09:14

@Clomid1 Yes 10 or before is best, over lunch is the worse as they all have breaks!

Octoblockisadick · 27/05/2022 09:23

@mrkb yes to the tiny pointless wees! I always lift my stomach up when I'm having a wee, it seems to allow more to come out 🤣🤣

@Vimto1991 they definitely shouldn't be contacting you, good plan with the pointing towards Google. Hopefully they leave you alone! If not, can you mute their numbers?

Ahaha @Prema112 we should definitely rename the trimesters that! Originally I was comfortable going to 41+5, it's just the size that's changing things, he would be expected to be almost 12lb by then 🙁.

@Clomid1 the only possible danger would be shoulder dystocia as far as what they've said so far. Which happens in around 6% of cases, the majority of which are resolved by lying on your back and pushing your knees to your shoulders. There's the odd ones that doesn't resolve which would require potentially them (dr) to put both their arms inside my pelvis and turn the baby, if that didn't work then in extremely rare cases they may need to break babies shoulders or my pelvis. But I think those would be something like 0.1% of cases, so a very small risk. There's other risks like 3rd /4th degree tears, but they come with the sticking both arms up inside me haha.

Extremely crampy again this morning, had to brace myself against the steering wheel while I had a pain before I could get out of the car dropping my daughter off at school. Going shopping in a bit to buy the last bits for my hospital bag and for baby, half debating putting my hospital bag in the car just in case tbh.

Vimto1991 · 27/05/2022 09:27

@Octoblockisadick I’ve got mine in my car now, too many rushed trips to triage made me put it in early, although I don’t have the car seat in there. Interesting how we are getting crampy already!!

Prema112 · 27/05/2022 09:27

@Vimto1991 & @Octoblockisadick Ooo crampy is good!! Hope it progresses for you!
