Apparently if your baby is being quiet then a few sips of ice cold lilt will make them have a party inside you. 😂 went from silent baby to crazy baby. Hoping the pineapple in the lilt will dance them out of me!!

beansprout55 · 26/05/2022 17:22

@destiEos he's SO gorgeous! Well done mummy! Can't wait to hear the rest xxx

Jammymare · 26/05/2022 17:43

unknownscot · 26/05/2022 17:54

@destiEos congratulations!

I've had a very weepy and emotional day. Just want this baby here!

DaimDillyDoo · 26/05/2022 18:06

@destiEos Congrats! ❤️

Not long now for the rest of us!

Prema112 · 26/05/2022 18:23

Went for my routine CTG today and was in the hospital for FIVE hours as they were busy. Results fine, met consultant who again suggested induction, they are really pro-induction. I'm not against it if there's a medical reason but I'm surprised that they've brought it up again given scan and monitoring have been normal. She then started talking about risk of still birth and it felt a little like she was trying to scare me into an induction. Anyway I said no again so I'm continuing with monitoring, another scan Monday and 2x weekly CTG. This is all from 1 episode of reduced movements last Thursday, I feel like that are very thorough!

MrsTwentyNine · 26/05/2022 18:28

@Prema112 how many weeks are you and when are they suggesting induction? Just curious as I've been booked for one at 39 weeks but there is a reason with mine as baby is big

Prema112 · 26/05/2022 18:33

I'm 39+1. They offered last Thursday at 38+1 as well. It's just a bit confusing as baby looks fine in every way

sunflower198 · 26/05/2022 19:15

Congratulations @destiEos - hope you're enjoying all the non-GD friendly food now!!

beansprout55 · 26/05/2022 20:00

Gosh @Prema112! So shocked they started talking to you about risk of stillbirth based on that, and I too am wondering why they're pushing induction if everything is normal? Seems drastic to me. I'd refuse it too if everything is fine and results are all normal.
How far along are you now? xx

beansprout55 · 26/05/2022 20:02

Sorry just saw you're 39+1. I wouldn't even consider induction until after 41 weeks unless there was a problem. x

pansytub · 26/05/2022 20:33

Congratulations @destiEos - so gorgeous I hope everything went well! I've been quiet recently between finishing work and a sick toddler but last day is tomorrow! Anyone else finishing tomorrow? I feel like there'll be a fuss for me at work which really isn't my thing but I know its well meant and I'm just grumpy

Clomid1 · 26/05/2022 20:33

@Prema112 I went in on Monday for reduced movements. They’ve put me back on x2 CTG’s as well. I hate the long wait for CTG’s but I guess its reassuring.

I’ve also been offered an induction. I’ll be given the exact date on Tuesday. They want to induce because she’s on 16th centile so the smaller side and also because I’ve reported in twice with reduced movements. They said between 39 and 40 weeks to me

I am in two minds about it. Part of me is like yes please get this baby out of me so I can stop driving myself crazy with if she’s moved enough or not and the other part wonders if its the right thing to do.

mrkb · 26/05/2022 20:43

@pansytub my last day tomorrow too! I'm only in half the day though as I need to have blood tests done in the afternoon for my ELCS on Monday so my colleagues did a little goodbye thing today. Got a cute little bag of goodies for me - chocolate, a small bottle of champagne, some books and some bath stuff, and then a big box of 7 baby books for baby! Loads of childhood classics like Elmer and the Gruffalo and the tiger who came to tea! I was quite emotional realising that I'm not going to be there for the next year.

Found out im in the afternoon slot on Monday but there are 4 of us (!! At the workshop they said they only do 2-3 in an afternoon) so I'm wary I could end up being pushed to the next day as there are 7 of us scheduled and I think I'm probably lowest priority even before allowing for some last minute EMCS that could end up happening! I get the impression they're trying to schedule a lot in before the long weekend and it's going to be very busy!

Octoblockisadick · 26/05/2022 20:57

Congratulations @destiEos , he's beautiful. Hope you are resting as best you can!

Strange that they are pressing for induction so much if everything is fine @Prema112, have they given any indication as to why?

@Clomid1 I fully understand. I've accepted c section "around" 40 weeks, the elective days would be 39+5 or 40+2, they wanted to book me for 39w so I'm assuming they'll do the 39+5 one. I fully understand why they are recommending it, but there’s a part of me thinking what if I push back another week. There's no medical reason for it, just baby expected to be large and I had a section last time. The consultant said they aren't worried about baby at all, just want to try and reduce the risks to me and them on their way out.

@mrkb as in Monday in 4 days?! Wow that's so soon! And you've worked right up until the end, that's incredible.

CurryandSnuggle · 26/05/2022 21:04

@Prema112 Have you asked why they are pushing for it when everything is ok when monitoring? Xx

CurryandSnuggle · 26/05/2022 21:07

Omg guys, look at this last minute purchase! It was on sale on Amazon. DH has built it tonight 😍 I am so excited to see her laying in it 🥰

That is a bit odd. Hopefully baby comes before they mention it again!

mrkb · 26/05/2022 21:14

@Octoblockisadick yes Monday in 4 days 😂 I don't know what I was thinking back in the second trimester when I thought I could keep going this long! It's been such a struggle at times - and I have had a few moments where I was convinced baby was going to come early over the last few weeks! - but glad to have made it as I want to take a full year off and it's more affordable this way. I'll still have a few weeks totally unpaid at the end but not as much as if I'd finished sooner. Very ready for her to come out now though - I'm basically a bowling ball on legs at this stage and spend more of my nights sitting on the loo doing tiny pointless wees than sleeping 😅

slowrunningteacher · 26/05/2022 21:42

@CurryandSnuggle That chair was on of our best baby purchases with DD. She's 2 in a weeks time and still uses it, just set up as a toddler chair. She climbs into it to have a snack (not allowed to eat whilst moving around) and watches TV from there too. I was going to reuse it with no. 2, but there's no way she's giving it up 🤣. In her words it's "Waa Waa chair".

CurryandSnuggle · 26/05/2022 21:45

@slowrunningteacher aww that’s awesome! 😍

CurryandSnuggle · 26/05/2022 21:47

@slowrunningteacher it cut off half my message! I said: aww that’s awesome 😍 bless her 🥰 what does ‘Waa Waa’ chair mean out of interest? Haha. Hope my DD loves the chair just as much 🥰

Rolledthedice · 26/05/2022 21:48

Reading all your messages about big and small babies and inductions reminds me of the Sara Wickham book I just finished reading (it’s called In Your Own Time). Definitely worth checking out if you are feeling unsure and want to be fully informed.

My baby is small (10th centile) but so far I’ve been left alone other than a few extra scans. I’m really not a fan of the early way induction is pushed for low risk pregnancies by some trusts. Like @beansprout55 said, it’s not something I’d consider until at least after 41 weeks. I like the idea of a “due month” rather than due date as it seems more applicable to the way Women’s bodies give birth. 😊

lol @mrkb your last line about tiny pointless wees is hilarious and so true! 😂
