@pregnancydiaries haha yeah it’s nice to see some instincts kicking in, although I think I’ll end up waaaaay too over protective haha 🙈

Nah I decided I didn’t want to take the little one as it’s the start of august so they’ll be 8 weeks old, it’s a friends wedding (DH’s friend) and there will be over 500 people I don’t know there, DH is going for three nights so I guess I’ll just have a stress test of can I do it by myself for the weekend 🙈😂 I’m sure you’ll be fine going in September, especially if you have that support network going with you! be a cute little first holiday for your family. 🥰

induction date will be at 40 weeks so 8th June, with a sweep the week before to get them going. I have a consultant appointment to discuss on the 31st and really hoping they don’t offer the sweep that date and I can push it to the 2nd June as I want to avoid if I can, giving birth on the 1st (coicincides with my aunts death). Consultant seemed hopeful I could give birth before sweep/induction but I thought FTM tend to be overdue.

Thank you all for your messages of congratulations.

@fpeg I just feel like I am living in a bubble since I got home..nothing can prepare for the love and worry they bring. It is wonderful though and the days go so quickly.

hope you are all keeping well.

Hey @pregnancydiaries 👋🏼 Sorry to hear you've had a hard week Flowers Hope nothing happens when your DP is away! I was reluctant to let my DH go into the office this morning an hour away 😂 Although I am 38 weeks now but no signs of anything happening at all. There's me thinking I'd be one of the first on this group to give birth with a due date of 1st June!

Congrats @NorthDevonBeachLover so lovely that he is here! Sorry to hear your labour was a bit stressful though x

@Vimto1991 Hiccups continue here, always seems to be when I lie down...

Vimto1991 · 18/05/2022 10:44

@Yecats22 oh that photo is so lovely 🥰 🥰

Clomid1 · 18/05/2022 11:21

@Yecats22 how much did she weigh at birth

I just had my consultant appointment. They said that after the FMU scan on 31st if the baby has dropped off on growth again then they’ll look to induce at that point.

if she’s still growing they’ll induce at 39/40 weeks. I’m quite worried about induction but also like the idea of having baby sooner rather than later.

they think she’s on the 16th centile at the moment. i am quite worried about induction but your story seems positive so is keeping me
going.

Whatcanmyusernamebe · 18/05/2022 11:33

Congratulations @Yecats22 and @NorthDevonBeachLover. Can’t believe how many babies we already have in the group. Glad they are here safe and well.

Brightsmoke · 18/05/2022 11:38

Congratulations @Yecats22! Glad your induction and birth went so well 😊

Congratulations @NorthDevonBeachLover!

Fingers crossed it was labour @Octoblockisadick 🤞🏻🤞🏻. I totally understand, being a fellow predicted big baby mama, I'm desperate to have a natural birth. I feel like I missed out with my son because of how it went, I was so out of it. So if I have a C-section, I'll feel crappy about it again too, not that there's anything wrong with a C-section

@Prema112 my son is being mean sometimes too. Because I was the fun one, and now I can't be, he doesn't fully understand why! He thinks because it's his birthday today that I'll do all the crazy things with him. It's so difficult for them :(

Braxton hicks have massively picked up for me, feeling nauseous and (sorry if TMI) loose stools. So hoping it's my body sorting itself out and I'll labour this weekend. Having wobbles that my body doesn't know how to go into labour though. I know there's plenty of time, but I just don't think it can 😫
I also woke up feeling dizzy today, and it's not really gone off. No other pre eclampsia symptoms other than slightly swollen feet, so I'm sure it's just lack of sleep but obviously now I'm worrying myself 😂

Prema112 · 18/05/2022 12:01

@Brightsmoke Happy birthday to your son! And I hope you can go into labour this weekend and have the birth that you want, the signs are looking good!

CurryandSnuggle · 18/05/2022 12:12

@Yecats22 @NorthDevonBeachLover aww massive congratulations!! 😁 This is getting me SO excited!!! 😆

@Prema112 aww, bless, my son has said things like that to me in the past so I know how hurtful it can be. Try to take it with a pinch of salt because he loves his mummy ❤️ As you say, it may just be a case of finding other fun things that you can do together. Maybe an afternoon of junk modelling.. who can make the weirdest looking monster?! 😂 that’s the sort of thing we do now, and I leave DH to do the active stuff with him 🙂

unknownscot · 18/05/2022 12:32

@NorthDevonBeachLover wow, congratulations! How was your induction?

@pregnancydiaries honestly it was the most special day. I cried, my cousin had organised it all for me and it was just so so lovely.

Katiebaby13 · 18/05/2022 12:52

@Vimto1991 yes to the hiccups and can really see them from the outside now. I find it amazing to watch!!

@Yecats22 that picture has just made feel so excited 🥰

Yecats22 · 18/05/2022 13:19

@Clomid1 he was 6lb 6oz we had a scan on the Thursday before the induction and measured 6lb 1oz so not far off x

beansprout55 · 18/05/2022 14:36

I'@NorthDevonBeachLover congratulations!!!
I can't remember, what was your bleeding episodes like? Did they find a cause for it?

Back from hospital and placenta and growth all good, no explanation for the bleed once again. Reading my notes he wrote no sign of ectroptian. So I'm discharged until it happens again, yay!

@Yecats22 .... that is one seriously cute baby 🙄x

hellointhere · 18/05/2022 17:39

Congratulations to everyone who has had their baby already! It's been so exciting reading through and catching up.

I'm 34 weeks now and had a growth scan because the tape measurement was off a bit, but the scan put me within a healthy range! 4pounds 11! I saw their beautiful face. Their head is in my pelvis which made me nervous that they are coming, but the midwife reassured me that it's normal for them to start moving down at this point.

sunflower198 · 18/05/2022 17:52

Had my final scan/consultant appt today. Made it feel all so real that in 12 days time, I'll have had my c section and baby will be here!

Just now need to avoid me or OH catching Covid beforehand - this is stressing me out a lot!!

Prema112 · 18/05/2022 18:43

@sunflower198 I'm a bit worried about me or DH catching covid now as well. He's gone to work on the tube today 🙄 I had it 6 months ago so immunity will have waned... But then DS is in school everyday so nothing we can do about that!

Prema112 · 18/05/2022 18:44

@beansprout55 Glad to hear you've been discharged! Hope there's no more drama for you xx

Prema112 · 18/05/2022 18:47

Oh my word tell me I'm not the only one who has become ridiculously clumsy?! I am such a liability at the moment, I break or spill something in the kitchen every time I go in and I should not be allowed to drive (I'm actually gonna stop driving I think)

beansprout55 · 18/05/2022 18:51

I need to vent - am I being unreasonable?

DH isn't working at the moment other than taking care of me, in which he does a wonderful job! (He's going to be a stay at home dad until next year, then we switch). So, we recently joined a new church and their Bible study for our age group starts next week (an evening thing). We explained to the person running it our given situation and that we'd love to be members but at the moment things are tough as we're about to become first time parents, so we'd be coming and going sort of thing - they said they expected this and that's totally fine.
So I just had a huge row with DH and feeling so overwhelmed and teary by his words. I'm 34 weeks, I work in healthcare and on the day it's run I work a 7.45-5.45 shift - on my feet for 10 hours with a 30 min lunch break. By lunch time I'm in agony. My back hurts, my feet ache, pelvis too.. I'm so unbelievably physically and mentally exhausted and it's getting worse. When I get home I have a hot shower to take the pain away and just lay in my towel whilst my feet throb and my back recovers, all in silence to unwind (I don't know how I'll cope doing this until my due date, which we've discussed).
So, DH told me that he isn't pressuring me but he thinks it's doable and can totally envisage me being up for Bible study on this night. I'd have an hour to get home, shower, eat and then get ready to travel to someone's home to engage with a group of people for two hours.

I'm so hurt that he would even think that's possible? Does this mean he doesn't know how much I'm struggling? Maybe it's my hormones but it's got me in tears big time and although he was clear there was no pressure, I'm really feeling it. He clearly wants to go and I'd be happy for him to go alone but I know he won't - so, more pressure. How can I think I'd cope with that? Could any of you? 😢😢

Octoblockisadick · 18/05/2022 20:21

@Yecats22 oh she is gorgeous, congratulations!

@Brightsmoke I'm glad someone understands and nobody thinks I'm being silly haha. I've also been getting loads of BH, people at work keep giving me the side eye worrying I'm in labour haha. I've also had a bit of dizziness but no swelling here and BP fine. Happy birthday to your son!

@sunflower198 that's so exciting, less than 2 weeks! Bet you can't wait.

@beansprout55 I think sometimes they just don't think, he probably doesn't mean anything bad by it. Maybe he's thinking it might help to take your mind off the uncomfortableness if you are distracted?

EarlGreywithLemon · 18/05/2022 20:48

@beansprout55 there’s no way I could do that! And I mean that even if I wasn’t pregnant; I need my time to unwind in peace after a full day at the best of times, let alone now. There’s no way I could get through a full shift like you do at the moment. I’d be an absolute wreck! So hats off to you for managing it, but I think you more deserve your rest in the evening!!

Prema112 · 18/05/2022 21:41

@beansprout55 Aw love you're doing so well at work!! When do you finish? There's no way I'd be doing anything in the evening when I was working and mine was an easy going desk job!

Does DH generally have more capacity than you? It's something we have to work on in my marriage- DH would probably have an open door policy for anyone to pop round whenever they wanted, I'm way more private. So we quite often have this type of disagreement! It's good he's not pressuring you though, I'd just explain how you're feeling and that you couldn't do things in the evening right now x

Lostintranslatio · 18/05/2022 22:57

@Yecats22 oh!! She's a gorgeous baby, isn't she ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

fpeg · 19/05/2022 03:41

@NorthDevonBeachLover congratulations on the arrival of your little boy!

@Vimto1991 my little g girl used to have hiccups loads when she was on the inside and still does now. I aided yes midwife yesterday if anything to worry about and she said it's common especially if they did it lots inside, so be prepared for it to carry on post birth 😁

@pregnancydiaries things going well thank you, I'm completely besotted. First couple of nights were especially tough as she was just awake so much of them, but last two nights I've had some decent runs of sleep and so feel much better. I expressed for the first time last night, went really well and actually very comfortable. OH gave last feed at 10:30 in the bottle whilst I expressed (have used Hakka (probably spelt wrong!) to catch milk from the other breast whilst feeding over last 2 days as very engorged, collected 3oz, which is what OH fed) he'll be doing that last feed from now on whilst I express slightly earlier and go to bed. I'm just loving being a mum, keep looking at her and can't believe we made her 🥰 I did have a couple of very random crying moments yesterday, classic baby blues time, but I feel like I've been lucky with the baby blues, just hoping it doesn't suddenly come on stronger!

@Yecats22 your post just put a massive smile on my face as I know just what you're talking about! Kinda overwhelming what you feel for these tiny humans isn't it ❤️ gorgeous photo ❤️❤️❤️

@unknownscot those baby shower pics looks so lovely!

@beansprout55 glad everything was ok, must be so worrying when it happens though! And re the Bible study, not a chance I could have done that, but also before I went through it, I had no idea just how tough pregnancy can actually be! I definitely have a new found respect for pregnant people everywhere, and I think it's a hard perspective to truly understand until you've been through it. You're 100% right to want to vent about it, when you feel a little more headspace maybe sit down with him and really lay out how you're feeling. Hope he can get a better understanding xxx also I'm just in awe of the fact that you are still managing days like that at work! I couldn't have done it, your one incredible lady ❤️

laurenGame · 19/05/2022 04:50

@fpeg I am absolutely loving your updates. Keep them coming please 🥰

@beansprout55 oh my god please NO, you need to rest, your shift hours and being on your feet made me wince! That is insane at our stage, and you have to do that till due date?! DP should be meeting you with massages, hot water bottles, run baths. I don't know how he's not worried sick about you working such long and physical shifts, never mind piling more on you!
One of the main reasons for prem labour is psychical jobs and being on your feet a lot! You and your baby are number one priority right now.
Honestly, massive hugs to you. You don't have to do those extra evenings. X
