I missed the DTD question on the other thread too. I am still going for it. Not often mind you, because I'm falling asleep early and feel sick a lot but a few times since I got my BFP alright. It's safe and the happy hormones are good for you, so if you're feeling up to it then why not? 😉

Place marking

LC84 · 29/04/2022 15:19

@LolaJ87 My tummy is defo out there more 🤣 I was size 20 couple months ago and started slimming world and exercise to lose some before we got pregnant - lost a stone so am in size 18 jeans now EXCEPT the last few days they wont do up round my middle 🤣 Ive lost few more pounds unintentionally so it must just be redistributing to my belly early... or its the bloating/wind maybe?!

Am hoping midwife says I can continue slimming world and exercise as my BMi is still high (39!) And whilst obvs feeding baby is priority I know putting on loads of weight will just make me more high risk....

Any other curvy mums to be in same boat?!

StarveInn · 29/04/2022 15:25

@LC84 I’m a fellow SW member, I was 1lb away from my 2 stone award when I found out I was expecting! MW is happy for me to continue following the plan (although I forgot to take the SW form for her to sign so I need to drop that in to the surgery), just not for me to actively lose weight. My BMI is 33 at the moment, I’m aiming to gain no more than 2 stone if I can which would be the same as I weighed at full term with DS.

LolaJ87 · 29/04/2022 15:27

@LC84 I am so glad to know I'm not the only one! It's a long time since I did Slimming World but it's usually considered safe to keep with in pregnancy, unless you develop GD in which case it isn't.

I'm the heaviest I've ever been, piled on weight during the lockdowns and basically had avoided the scales until I found out I was pregnant... turns out that my BMI is over 40 😳I'm actually pretty active but my eating has been out of control.

My mam is a midwife and she said for someone with my BMI the advice is usually to avoid weight gain if possible or keep it to a max of 6kg. So for us that would basically mean staying the same weight until the third trimester. Tricky, but that's what I'm trying to do.

LC84 · 29/04/2022 15:34

@StarveInn @LolaJ87 glad im not the only one 🤣 At the moment I have very little appetite so forcing little meals down regularly... and makes sense that we dont gain too much I think the NHS guidancr on my BMI is to gain between 11lbs-22lbs the whole pregnancy... which means Ill have to have serious self control once appetite comes back and cravings start 😳😳😳

Sdoubleyou · 29/04/2022 16:32

I just got back from my early scan and I am so relieved that everything looks really good so far! We even got to hear and see a little heartbeat, it was wonderful. We've never gotten to see an actual heartbeat before, it's crazy to think that there's another heart beating inside of me.

I just got back from our early scan and I'm bursting! We saw and heard a little heartbeat and bean is looking healthy. I'm measuring 7w2d. I'm so relieved and overjoyed, we've never gotten to see a heartbeat before! I can't believe there's another little heart beating inside me.

Sorry for the double message, the app is being really weird, thought my first message didn't go through!

LolaJ87 · 29/04/2022 16:48

@Sdoubleyou huge congratulations! You must be over the moon. What lovely news to start the weekend!

Mommabear20 · 29/04/2022 16:54

I cut out all caffeine with DD as I went off everything that contained it and she was just over 8lbs when she was born at 39 weeks. I craved Diet Coke with DS and definitely exceeded the recommended amount, and he was born at 39 weeks and weighed 6lbs. My MW told me this time when I asked, that they don't recommend consuming a lot because it can cause low birth weight.
I don't say this to scare people! DS was/is perfectly healthy, but I'll definitely be sticking to the recommended amounts this time!

@Sdoubleyou what a lovely clear scan picture! I thought the same thing - I have two hearts at the mo!

I’m still absolutely starving! No matter how much I eat! I had to eat my lunch at 11am, and then had to have some toast just to make the journey home 😩🤷🏼‍♀️

LC84 · 29/04/2022 17:02

@Sdoubleyou amazing scan pics so happy for you !! ❤

Luckyme2022 · 29/04/2022 17:27

Huge congrats @Sdoubleyou ! 💐🌷 Very nice scan picture here. ❤️❤️ I did my scan yesterday and they offered me a second reassurance scan in 2 weeks. Still super nervous that something can go wrong in these two weeks.

I love the place making posts in here 😂

My boobs start to hurt today, the first pregnancy sign apart from being tired and hungry. So I am indeed more relieved and having the pregnancy feeling now 😌

Amphibian94 · 29/04/2022 17:50

Thanks for starting a new thread! So glad to see early scan pics coming in! My 8 week scan went well this week, not waiting for 10 week scan... so nervous as that will be the same time we mc'd the first time. So huge achievement if baby keeps going :) fx!

Anyone been eating terribly? I'm forcing myself to eat bc I just don't want anything!

hopefulsunshine11 · 29/04/2022 17:55

Hey, another quick one! Does anyone else not need to pee a lot? I see a lot of people saying they're never out the loo but I'm not peeing any more than before I was pregnant. Another niggle making me anxious.

Luckyme2022 · 29/04/2022 18:12

@Amphibian94 congrats for your 8 week scan and fingers crossed 🤞 for your 10 week scan next time. I am eating ok. Still not feeling much nauseous or something. Can eat anything so far.

@hopefulsunshine11 do you try to drink more water than you used to be? I am drinking a lot and really needs to be in the loo every hour or more frequently.

TradedAtlanta · 29/04/2022 18:13

@hopefulsunshine11 is this your first baby? With my first I had no increase in frequency until about 20 weeks. This time round I'm already up to wee in the night. I guess my uterus has stretched before so it's happening quicker this time? Definitely nothing to worry about!

hopefulsunshine11 · 29/04/2022 18:23

I've been pregnant twice before, once 10 years ago and once last year, but no live baby yet, praying this is my miracle 🙏.

I do slack on the water so I must try and drink more. Thanks ladies!

DogsAndGin · 29/04/2022 18:50

@hopefulsunshine11 everyone has different symptoms. Some days I am peeing lots, and others, hardly at all. I only peed twice today at work. Some ladies have no idea they’re pregnant until several months in! Best of luck to you and your little one x

baby2in2022 · 29/04/2022 18:58

@hopefulsunshine11 I was peeing more last week but that was because my mouth was ridiculously dry so I was drinking so much water. I never had the increased need to pee during my whole pregnancy with my son kept expecting it to arrive and it never did so try not to worry. Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy xx

TradedAtlanta · 29/04/2022 18:59

@hopefulsunshine11 praying with you that this is a sticky bean 🙏🏻

Amphibian94 · 29/04/2022 19:18

@Luckyme2022 thank you! That's great you can eat anything! I hope you don't get any nausea and can blissfully make it into trimester 2! X

AG96 · 29/04/2022 19:20

Hi All, I've been lurking on the threads and ready to join in now. First pregnancy and 8 weeks today!

Saw someone mention laser tits on the last thread and thought omg that perfectly describes how my boobs have felt 🙈 it was my first symptom before I even guessed I was pregnant (TTC for a year and thought it wouldn't happen)

Not been sick but nauseous and constantly starving!!
