@stuntbubbles I like your style!

Tofu35 · 29/04/2022 10:00

@AliceAbsolum @stuntbubbles love my first thing snack stash! Thinking of getting a wee Tupperware for them so they keep fresh. Just now it's a mix of dry crackers and belvita biscuits.

Wanderlust16 · 29/04/2022 10:07

Popping a wee comment here so I can find the thread! So far I’m doing ok, I’ve not been having much nausea or hunger - sometimes I’m a bit worried by the lack of symptoms! But I’m really tired and bloated and have occasional sore boobs so I’m just trusting everything is ok until my first scan!

LolaJ87 · 29/04/2022 10:11

Is anyone else definitely changing shape already? I feel like I'm losing my mind, because everyone says if you're heavy you won't see a change until much further on. I'm a size 18-20 and I've been watching my weight because I know that's important with a higher BMI in pregnancy. I have actually lost a couple of pounds (not on purpose - food aversions etc.) but this morning went to put on some jeggings I wore a couple of weeks ago and they are WAY too tight on my stomach. They are stretchy, so I didn't expect it to be a problem and it wasn't bloating because it was first thing this morning. I'm confused!

Nejnej2 · 29/04/2022 10:14

@AliceAbsolum @Tofu35 @stuntbubbles I always bring some breakfast biscuits up at night and eat before I start moving, even when I'm feeling ok now!

PandaOrLion · 29/04/2022 10:57

I had some pink spotting/discharge this morning when wiping - hasn’t happened before and although it’s normal I’m still mildly panicked. I’m 6+6. How bad does it have to get to speak to EPU?

Nejnej2 · 29/04/2022 11:00

@PandaOrLion I has one episode of pink discharge just before 6 weeks. The GP reassured me it's really common, and the midwife said the same at my booking appointment later on. The GP told me to ring back with any fresh blood or pain.
I also found it really scary and had a good cry that evening! I'm now 8+3, no further episodes

Horriblewoman · 29/04/2022 11:01

I guess I should add my name. Only just over four weeks, 0 symptoms at all which I guess might not be a great sign!

Pinkfig · 29/04/2022 11:42

Thanks @Laughingmole

Graceybaby · 29/04/2022 11:58

Glad Im not the only one suffering with insomnia.. so frustrating. I feel so exhausted all day but can I sleep? No! 🙈

@Horriblewoman Not at all, I'm almost 6 weeks and still no symptoms at all! Never had any with my first child either so nothing to worry about.. just class yourself as one of the lucky ones for now! xxxx

PandaOrLion · 29/04/2022 11:59

Thanks @Nejnej2. I’m not an anxious person but definitely feeling it with this baby! I keep telling myself it’s normal but weirdly also panicking it isn’t!

KittyKat1989 · 29/04/2022 12:01

Good morning ladies - I asked this on the FB group earlier as well, but how are you all approaching your caffeine intake? I've been limiting myself to one cup on weekdays and nothing at weekends. The consensus seems to be that a second cup occasionally won't cause an issue - do we agree? That would be super helpful some days! 😴

LolaJ87 · 29/04/2022 12:28

@KittyKat1989 I've gone right off coffee since I got pregnant but the calculator on the Tommy's website is really good.

www.tommys.org/pregnancy-information/calculators-tools-resources/check-your-caffeine-intake-pregnancy

If it's just instant coffee you're having, a second cup looks to be ok if you're not having any other caffeine (chocolate, tea, etc).

In saying that, my GP was unimpressed with me for having a can of Pepsi Max a day (well within my caffeine limit) so sometimes you just have to pick what will keep you sane and do your best with "recommendations".

Tofu35 · 29/04/2022 12:53

All week I have been planning to get a takeaway on Friday, I kept thinking about one specific curry and how much it would be brilliant.

Today, I'm off the idea. Maybe I want a burger and chips instead? I should have just had a midweek takeaway when I had the urge!

LC84 · 29/04/2022 12:55

Just jumping on so saves it for me 🤣 lovely hearing everyone's early scan stories and am sure we will all be less stressed after the dreaded 12 weeks... or we will find other things to stress about 😳🤣🙈

Chanel05 · 29/04/2022 13:03

Placemarking because I'm at work and I can't keep up with the pace of the thread 😂

Jumping over to this thread. I’ve not really posted much (head in the sand/not wanting to get too invested in this pregnancy too early if that makes sense?!)

I had my booking in appointment this morning, much the same as with DS (I took my urine sample in a little Chinese takeaway pot because I’d forgotten I needed one until the morning 🙈), had to go to the hospital for my bloods taking because my veins are “wiggly” so I’ve got nice bruises on both arms now! While I was waiting in the hospital (longest hour of my life!) the surgery pharmacist rang because he’d been asked to prescribe a higher dose of folic acid which I’m guessing is because of my BMI but the mw didn’t mention that to me.

Now just need to wait for a letter with a date for my 12 week scan!

stuntbubbles · 29/04/2022 13:26

@KittyKat1989 Read Expecting Better by Emily Oster – it’s really good on the data, stats and science behind the advised do/do nots, and the correlation/causation too.

personally I’m sticking to one cup of coffee in the morning but that’s largely because I feel queasy and don’t fancy it. The evidence says I can have more but the “woo” brain telling me how lucky I am to be pregnant at 103 is saying don’t chance it!

Graceybaby · 29/04/2022 13:45

I've stopped all coffee I only have decaf but I'm definitely missing my morning caffeine hit! I used to drink quite a lot so its been hard.. that and wine.. 😫

xx

LC84 · 29/04/2022 13:53

Ive been on decaf everything for few moñths before thr BFP apart from the odd diet coke so not noticed it BUT weekends without wine are gunna be a killer 🙈😳

lovesT · 29/04/2022 14:03

Thanks to all who replied in the last thread about DTD 😅 I haven't felt great either but feeling slightly better recently and I really think that my daughter sleeping better last night had helped a lot as that has been so hard. I think of we do we'll just be careful and gentle 😉 I'm not high risk as far as I know and had no problems in my last pregnancy. NHS days it's fine! Sore boobs are off limits though 😂.

I'll be 9 weeks on Sunday which seems crazy, really want that 12 week scan though!

Can't believe we're on our 3rd thread already haha!

lovesT · 29/04/2022 14:05

I have up caffeine (apart from chocolate) when TTC so have carried on not having any and have switched to decaff everything but with my daughter I would have 1 cup of coffee or a couple of teas a day. I'm not too worried about it but caffeine makes me anxious sometimes so that's a bigger reason for me x

stuntbubbles · 29/04/2022 14:11

I missed the DTD question – we didn’t even DTD to conceive, it was a Tupperware and calpol syringe conception! 😂Not a chance of DTD now for years: the motion sickness would kill me now, and I’m assuming this one will be as sleep-averse as DD.

LC84 · 29/04/2022 14:12

Im not even thinking about DTD im so bloated, crampy and tired at the moment 🤣
