Welcome @Astar21 and sorry for your loss. I had a mmc and surgical management for it three years ago tomorrow actually. I now have a dd and I'm due on 27th - this is (hopefully 🤞🤞) baby number 2.

Graceybaby · 01/05/2022 17:26

@KokoNights I'm exactly the same, this pregnancy seems to have effected me so differently to my first.. I feel so exhausted and just abit down in the dumps.. and like you I give things a miss and end up feeling much worse.. hoping I perk up abit in second Tri, thought I'd be feel happy and excited but quite honestly just feel very overwhelmed.

In regards the baths, I always have warm/hottish baths and always did in my first pregnancy, aslong as you're not hot as in sweating it's fine, I tend to open the window a little so the room itself is still cool. It's you're overall body temperature that's the issue not the temperature of the bath on your skin if that makes sense!

x

Astar21 · 01/05/2022 17:38

Thankyou @Chanel05 That's lovely to hear you went on to having DD, always nice to hear positive stories 😊 How are you feeling so far?

AG96 · 01/05/2022 17:49

@Chanel05 they didn't give me a reason for the bleeding just said its not uncommon in early pregnancy. Gave me an info sheet on pain and bleeding in early pregnancy etc. Which gives implantation bleeding as a possibility. Red blood lasted perhaps a few hours and spotting about 24hours following.

Do the private scan place do transvaginal scan or just abdominal? When I went at 5+4 they had to do transvaginal and have read at a few private places they only do abdominal, so worth checking if you're thinking about making the appt sooner

lovesT · 01/05/2022 18:45

@Chanel05 yes I did at 6.5 weeks. Just like you I didn't have it with my first but had brown discharge when I wiped for about 4 days. 2 scans since and all was okay, likely implantation. I hope it stops soon for you x

Chanel05 · 01/05/2022 19:43

@Astar21 it's just been a pile of stress so far in all honesty 🤯. How've your been?

@AG96 I went to the same place with my previous pregnancies and the scans are always transvaginal at this gestation.

@lovesT that sounds more reassuring. I'm certain though my boobs aren't as sore as they were. On Thursday they were agony but it's tailed off a bit, so this coupled with the spotting is what's making me feel like I could be having a mc. I truly hope not. I've had sore boobs since 3dpo so it's just all getting a bit much.

lovesT · 01/05/2022 20:12

@Chanel05 it's so stressful. I know you won't know until you've had a scan or something BUT around the time of my spotting (sometime when it was happening) my boobs suddenly weren't sore at some point in the nice and same as you they had been so sore. I woke up to feed my daughter and thought the worst as they didn't hurt. Later the next day they did start hurting again and have hurt since but maybe varied in intensity. I also find my nausea goes up and down so I really hope it's good news for you xx

HayleyBean · 01/05/2022 20:56

Hey everyone! The nausea this week has been awful, just continuous, as soon as I wake up to going to bed. Does anyone sleep in a sleep bra? My boobs have got bigger and hurt so much that if I roll over in the night the pain can wake me up. As someone who has fairly small boobs this is all just bizarre 😂 any recommendations on sleep bras? I've had my 12 week scan come through for the end of May, nothing about an 8 week booking in appointment though which is odd.

AG96 · 01/05/2022 21:02

@Chanel05 that's good. I've looked at getting private scans and all I've seen have said no transvaginal!
Hope the scan goes well💐

Nejnej2 · 01/05/2022 23:28

@AG96 @Chanel05 How strange! I've got one booked for tomorrow and they were very clear that under 10 weeks will likely be transvaginal.
I definitely second not going too early, it would be even scarier not to see the heartbeat, even though that can be normal at 6 weeks.
I had some pink spotting at about week 5, and the GP said as long as it's not fresh blood not to be worried. My MW said the same at my booking appointment, and brown/pink discharge is really common. Easier said than done I know!

Currently working nights over the bank holiday (NHS) and it's making my nausea worse - can't wait for the second tri!

Tofu35 · 02/05/2022 08:46

@HayleyBean you should chase up that booking appt, it needs to be done before 12 weeks (because of some of the blood tests) www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/your-antenatal-appointments/

Interested to hear more about sleep bras. My boobs are okay in the morning when I wake up, but the hour or so after I get in bed at night it's getting sore/heavy.

DogsAndGin · 02/05/2022 11:48

@PinkFizz1 how are you today?

@Chanel05 my boobs aren’t very sore at all. I had my early scan last week at about 6 weeks and everything is fine 😊

I’ve also had no info on the booking appt - I’m over 7 weeks now 🤷🏼‍♀️

PinkFizz1 · 02/05/2022 12:10

Hey all thanks for the well wishes. @DogsAndGin thanks for thinking of me ☺️

so bleeding stopped quite quickly yesterday and has been brown tinged on an off since. Went for a scan this morning and everything is looking fine! Baby is there and heart is beating fine, measuring yet another day ahead so now 8w4d! Said there was no obvious reason for the bleed and it shouldn’t happen again but if it does turn back to blood to call again.

can’t believe the difference in size in just a week! I might need to stop feeding jt so much 🤣🤣

lovesT · 02/05/2022 12:42

@HayleyBean yes I used to wear just a very with built in support but have started wearing a bra to bed as they're so sore. Last few nights I've been wearing one from Sainsbury's with a zip at the front, seems comfortable enough 😊.

@PinkFizz1 that's great news from the scan 😊😊

My scans at 7 weeks were both abdominal, the NHS lady did say that if she can't see enough it might have to be internal but it was fine 😊

Amphibian94 · 02/05/2022 12:59

@PinkFizz1 that's fab! X

baby2in2022 · 02/05/2022 14:01

@PinkFizz1 so pleased everything went well at your scan. Must have been so worrying

Hope everyone else is ok. I've only managed to skim read as it's been such a busy weekend. I'm so tired. I'm not sure if this is just normal tiredness as my little boy hasn't been sleeping very well or pregnancy tiredness. I swear I'm not usually this bad. Feel like I'm walking around in a fog xx

KittyKat1989 · 02/05/2022 14:25

@PinkFizz1 this is an amazing update - you must be so relieved!

MariaDingbat · 02/05/2022 14:43

@PinkFizz1 What great news! That must be such a relief.

For those waiting on a scan, my scan was last week at 8+1 and was done abdominally, but when I went for a harmony test at 10+4 with DD it was internal so it might depend. I was quite surprised they could get an abdominal scan so early but it was great to see.

I'm feeling wretched this week, I started throwing up about 2 weeks ago and it's ramping up to multiple times a day now. Bleurgh. I never threw up with my DD so this is all new to me. I've just bought some wristbands, sick bags and preggie pops in desperation!! Any advice on how to be vaguely normal while all this is going on? I'm still working full time and have a 1 year old too so I'm just wreaked.

LolaJ87 · 02/05/2022 17:45

Hello ladies,

I’ve been MIA for a few days. I’ve been feeling really sick and then yesterday morning also had some brown spotting (why so many of us this weekend??). I’ve also had a 24 hour headache and today is my husband’s birthday, so I feel quite guilty about being a moaning mess.

Spotting stopped (same as the last time this happened to me, when I was 7 weeks) and I’ve another scan on Thursday when I’ll be 9+5 so focusing on having lovely positive outcomes at that 🤞

Sorry to hear so many of you are having equally rough weekends. Sending hugs to anyone who needs one ♥️

Someone was asking about baths? I was gifted a Tommy Tippee bath thermometer, it’s really reassuring! They’re not expensive and you’ll need one for the baby anyway so it’s worth investing in! The bath was probably not as hot as you think… I was definitely overestimating the temperature of mine anyway.

Orcarain · 02/05/2022 17:54

I can’t drive home anymore without feeling sick!

Saw a clip of Kylie Jenner who had a box of snacks in her car for nausea. Thought I’d steal it! 😍

Hi everyone, first time poster and just wanted to vent! I’m currently 9+3w due 2nd December with my first! I’ve known for 5 weeks but it’s still sinking in, i’m hoping once i hear the heartbeat at first scan it will begin to feel more real and can feel more safe in getting excited🤞apart from being exhausted, i have had horrible nausea for 3 weeks, but thankfully no vomit and it seems to be easing up a little. Have also had cramping on and off, but no bleeding so staying positive! Lastly my boobs are so sore and already had to go up a bra size, also so bloated i’m unbuttoning my pants by midday 😂 hope you are all coping a bit better than i am atm!

@HayleyBean and the others who’ve spoken about sleep bras, I’d been looking into them and these were well recommended in the boob or bust fb group (they’re on offer at the moment too!). I haven’t ordered yet but I plan to.

Hello everyone! We got back from our holiday away yesterday and just went for our early scan this afternoon! Our little one is measuring 3 days early (8+6) with healthy heartbeats 💓 I'm relieved but also know things can totally change but I'm just trying to enjoy the positives when I can.

Such great news @PinkFizz1❤️
