So glad all went well @Lou2022 the wait to each scan is so stressful. I'm having a gender scan Sunday and the nerves of something being wrong have started to creep in. Congratulations @Firework87 I'm due the 12th. This is my 2nd and i have no cravings, I had major bread cravings with my first, they were overwhelming, i would practically cry if we had no bread in 🤣. I did find it strange not having any cravings this time but they say eaxh pregnancy is different. Glad I'm not the only one though 😊 x

Had my dating scan and screening bloods last Friday, the scan was great apart from little one was camera shy so I had to keep wiggling to get them in the right position - it blew my mind how much my movement affects them! I've not had a call about screening results which I think means I'm low risk. They moved my date 3 days forward to 10th November. My bumps suddenly popped out at 14 weeks, how about anyone else?

Bramblecrumble21 · 13/05/2022 09:43

I carry quite a bit of fat on my belly anyway but at 14 weeks I could feel a hard bump amongst it when I lay on my back.

Bramblecrumble21 · 13/05/2022 09:48

Anyone else got baby brain? A week or so ago I just couldn't get words out or remember technical jargon for a couple of days. I also kept forgetting what I was going to do (small tasks like picking up lat flows from work and putting something away in a drawer) then I got the day wrong for my only child's birthday.

Yes! Totally getting the baby brain thing. Yesterday I completely totally forgot a colleagues name. Just fell out of my head. I literally speak to her every single day but could not remember. I was actually really embarrassed. I had to look it up on email!! So so weird!

tigger2022 · 13/05/2022 12:16

Oh my 😍😍😍 I had my dating scan, baby was absolutely gorgeous though really naughty! Every time she managed to get them in focus, she'd go to press the button to take a photo and they'd jump out of shot again! I'm surprised I can't feel them bouncing around in there. I couldn't believe how active they were at 13 weeks.

roobearbaby · 13/05/2022 15:22

Baby brain is definitely real. I let one of my dogs out in the garden and forgot about her. She was out there for nearly an hour.

KatieP8 · 13/05/2022 22:10

Hello everyone, I have been lurking for a while and preferred to wait until my scan to officially join in! My scan was today, my baby remained back to front despite the technician wiggling them and me shifting myself about, but they certainly were very active- galloping, stretching, and even…drinking! Baby is a whole week older than we thought. I’m 37 and this is my first pregnancy. So far it’s been a breeze; minus the extreme tiredness weeks 6-10, I’ve been virtually symptom free. So I’m so relieved that my dating scan is out the way and I hope the rest of my pregnancy is nice and easy!

Bramblecrumble21 · 14/05/2022 07:32

Welcome @katiep8 sounds like a great time so far. They are amazing. Great you saw it drinking. Mine didn't do that during the scan. It's my second pregnancy and my favourite scan from the first was a late one due to growth concerns. Everything was fine and I got a view of baby sucking the umbilical cord.

OtiMama · 15/05/2022 14:26

I also have baby brain...not sure I lost it since having my first mind you!

Feeling super tired today, yesterday we went to a country park for 6 hours and I ached so much last night. Chasing a toddler all day takes if out of you!

Got my dating scan at roughly 13 weeks this week coming. Looking forward to seeing baby looking like one, last scan it was a blob but the heart was so obvious!

smiles39 · 15/05/2022 20:53

I’ve also started getting knackered, had sort of recovered from that but falling asleep early doors again. Scan is on Thursday for me, feeling very anxious, will be 13 weeks.

Anyone else’s nails growing super fast?!

roobearbaby · 15/05/2022 20:54

I have eaten so badly this weekend. Tonight marks 3 nights in a row having takeaway! 🤦🏼‍♀️.

sarahj878 · 15/05/2022 20:57

@smiles39 yes my nails and hair have been growing fast!

Hope everyone’s scans go well this week. Mine is on Tuesday and I am hoping to also get the results of the NIPT during the next week.

sarahj878 · 15/05/2022 20:59

@roobearbaby I wouldn’t worry. When I was at the height of nausea the Midwife told me just eat whatever even if it’s junk every day for a bit! I’ve just got back from a Nando’s 😂

roobearbaby · 15/05/2022 21:00

@smiles39 yes my nails are growing fast?! My hair has always grown quickly so I have not noticed a difference there.

Haha well that makes me feel better! I shall get back to enjoying my pizza guilt free

smiles39 · 15/05/2022 21:06

I have only noticed my nails because my two day old nail paint starts a good few mm from my cuticle, I was shocked at how much they grew in just a couple days!! Hope they stay like this the whole pregnancy 😍

KatieP8 · 15/05/2022 21:12

My nails are growing really fast too, I work in a hospital and need to keep them short, I forgot to cut them last week and was dreading the infection control nurses coming! They're looking nice and healthy though 💅🏻

smiles39 · 15/05/2022 21:15

@roobearbaby I’ve been eating a lot of takeaway fish and chips 🙈 tried to be good tonight and put loads of folic acid rich rocket on my plate, ate all the cheesey and bread bits and left all the rocket whoops.

Feb85 · 16/05/2022 09:37

Wondering does anyone use home hair dye when pregnant? it’s my first pregnancy and now thankfully in my second trimester and have read so much mixed research on this but grey hair is seriously starting to takeover so just wondering what others views on this is

Feb85 · 16/05/2022 15:02

Reading through my 13 week scan notes and on the measurements CRL is 67.2mm and BPD is 21.4mm at my scan the sonographer said all was fine however when i googled these numbers they look a bit small esp. the BPD just wondering from other peoples experiences do these seem accurate I called the midwife and she kinda just basically said they would of said if something was wrong however I am still worrying and don’t know if I am just working myself up today sorry for the long post

roobearbaby · 16/05/2022 16:05

@feb85 personally (I do mean personally) I find Googling stuff makes people worry too much. If a medical professional has told you that it is fine then go with that. If you are still worried, speak to your midwife about it for confirmation!

sarahj878 · 16/05/2022 17:16

@Feb85 I salon dye so I’m not sure how much home dye differs but I was told the only risk posed was to me and not baby and that the only risk posed to me is that in pregnancy your skin can be more sensitive/react differently to the dye so even if you’ve used the dye before I’d recommend you do a patch test.

ChasingRainbows22 · 16/05/2022 19:49

@Feb85 I had my scan at 12+5, my crl was 68.4 and they bumped me up to 13+1 based on that (even though mines an IVF pregnancy so I know exact dates) so sounds about right :) I don't know what bpd is though, didn't get that measurement

Feb85 · 16/05/2022 20:18

Oh thank you for your replies I think I have had one of those days where I have worked myself up and panicked about everything and yes @roobearbaby you are right Google can fuel this I should learn
