Any IVF mamas out there who've come off your progesterone already? Have you noticed any changes or had bleeding as a result? I'm due to stop it this Sunday and I'm scared to, it's felt like such a safety net and not really sure what to expect

xreadytoglow · 25/04/2022 14:12

@ChasingRainbows22 I'm about to take my last one tonight, but I do have some left so I don't know whether to phase it out or not and just use one for a few days.. but at the same time I'm desperate to get rid of them now 😂

Tuesdaysgirl · 25/04/2022 14:33

Also feeling rough at 11 weeks. Have a freezer full of cheap rocket lollies at home (May upgrade to calippos now!) but not much good at work :(

can’t sleep either because I’m getting terrible joint pain in my right leg and arm whichever side I sleep on. (Plus DP snoring grrrrrr). Think I need a pregnancy pillow already. Had to buy some maternity clothes already too.

the third one really does make you pop!

sending empathy for everyone else feeling rough. Luckily my other kids are older so more independent but I remember feeling helpless and awful when preg with DC2 and DC1 was a toddler. I can tell you they won’t remember it at all!

sarahxdx · 25/04/2022 15:03

How do I add my name to the due date list🤔
I was 12 weeks on Saturday and I feel like I can finally breath (well maybe a little)
We announced our pregnancy to the family and now it all seems to feel more real ❤️

Brambleowl · 25/04/2022 16:30

Hey ladies.

Had anyone else seen a reduction in symptoms? I've been feeling much more like myself from around week 9 and now I'm 10 weeks I'm feeling pretty much myself again apart from some light constipation and uterus pain/ stretching. I also get tired but I'm not sure it's if it's normal tired?

I've has a few misscarriages and tbh I spend alot of time trying not to freak out too much.

sarahj878 · 25/04/2022 16:35

@Brambleowl im nearly 10 weeks myself and have felt pretty nauseous most days but randomly today I don’t. I was told by the EPU ages ago that symptoms come and go and not to put any emphasis on them but then when I told the midwife how nauseous I was the other day she made a comment that that was great because it showed my pregnancy hormones were strong. I’ve decided to try not to think about it too much x

Pamctake2 · 25/04/2022 17:32

@Yutes sorry you are leaving us ❤️

@Brambleowl I'm in a similar situation where my symptoms really alleviated around 11weeks, not feeling so nauseous anymore and able to enjoy food much more. Sometimes when the placenta takes over those first trimester symptoms can subside so I'm just choosing to believe that's the reason. @sarahj878 I think that was slightly careless of the MW to imply that the more nauseous you feel the more pregnancy hormones you have as it's not directly correlated. Some people have no symptoms and healthy pregnancies and some people have symptoms even after they have MC'd so it's definitely not a clear indicator either way.

Sorry so many people are still feeling so rubbish, hope it starts to switch to that 2nd trimester glow soon

sarahj878 · 25/04/2022 18:07

@Pamctake2 I totally agree. I didn’t warm to her at all during the appt and fortunately a new midwife has now started in time for all my other appts!

@Yutes sorry to hear this, hope you have good support around you x

OtiMama · 25/04/2022 21:14

So sorry @Yutes thinking of you.

@sarahj878 glad you've got another midwife, hope things will be better for you.

Totally agree, everyone has different symptoms, some people don't feel any sickness, others just first few weeks and some poor people all the time. Some midwives do worry people without good cause.

Just feeling so exhausted this evening, I'm also really bad at making myself go to bed really early. I always aim for 10pm bedtime but wish I would go at like 8pm, I could easily sleep 11 hours at night!

Has anyone had any discussions on names? Feel like we won't have a serious chat on this until we know the sex. I don't want to say names I like (this is our second) as I know previously loads my husband didn't like and I don't want to hear that haha!

GabsK92 · 26/04/2022 02:19

@Brambleowl I’m around week 10 and my symptoms the past couple of days have subsided too. Having said that, they’re definitely there just not as godawful as they’ve been weeks 5-9 where I was practically bedridden.

I know the feeling of being worried it “means something” (this is my first pregnancy following a MMC) but I’m sure these things come and go. As mentioned in the group the placenta will start to take over soon so that’s probably why! I’m going to the doctor tomorrow so will ask her then and share what she says. x

Brailsbaby · 26/04/2022 05:55

With my first pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage I had hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), then with my little girl, I was sick due to acid reflux all the way through. Luckily I was just sick then absolutely fine. Now this one I am sick, nauseous, exhausted, headaches etc.

The symptoms don’t bring me much comfort as with my first pregnancy ended in MC… I think symptoms come and go. It’s such an awful anxious time especially for first time mums or those who have previously lost. Lots of meditation will help!

MrsMmz · 26/04/2022 06:43

Hi all. I hope everyone is doing okay. I’m very sorry to hear of a few more losses on this thread. It’s very sad and I wish you all the best in future.

I wanted to ask for a link to the Facebook group please. I’ve just reactivated my account after closing it a few months ago so would love to join the group. (I’m sure I remember early on this fb group being mentioned. Hope I didn’t imagine it 🙈)

Bramblecrumble21 · 26/04/2022 08:11

Hello, sorry about the losses. And also all those having a rough time with symptoms. I have my first scan next week at 13+5. I'm quite excited to see the baby. I did dream that it was a bad scan, they barely looked at the baby and found cysts in my overies and bladder. Just a dream though.

I've had no sickness and have had headaches since covid. They are different now than when I was testing positive and more migraniny like headaches in my first pregnancy. They aren't as bad as last time (yet). But they are one sided and light sensitive sometimes and parecetomol doesn't help like it did for my COVID headache. I'm managing with work, but screens are tough. I randomly got an outpatient antenatal appointment through the post for June, with no information. I wasn't expecting that as I got the impression from my booking appointment I'd be midwife led.

Cocobeau · 26/04/2022 08:54

Oh god, I'm really holding on to hope with these comments saying symptoms have eased for other around 11 weeks. I'm 10 + 1 (or 3 depending on who I ask) and my symptoms have really amped up the past few days. I spent most of last night in the crouched over the toilet dry heaving and crying with a horrendous permanent headache. I'm used to headaches but also used to being able to knock them bad with decent painkillers. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this part is going to come to an end soon.

@OtiMama I've tried to raise the name convo a few times, but like you I know there are so many he just won't agree with. We're both more inclined to "boring" names but even then he's got a NO ready for every single one I bring out - with no actual suggestions of his own. I also hope once we know the sex we can have a proper grown up discussion about it 😂

sarahj878 · 26/04/2022 11:25

Well I can confirm symptoms definitely do come and go. The nausea is back! @OtiMama I’m exhausted too but struggling to actually sleep earlier! It’s more of a physical exhaustion than sleepy tired with me at the mo.

Elmorris9 · 26/04/2022 12:29

Hi everyone, I’m 10 weeks pregnant today so due in November, I just wondered if anybody has heard from there midwife yet? When I first told my doctors they just said to fill a self referral form out online which I did and a couple of weeks later I received a letter for my 12 week scan on 12th May but it says I should hear from my midwife before then and I just wondered when it was meant to be? As on the NHS website it says it should be by 10 weeks, I feel like since covid it’s all changed? This is all new to me and I thought I was really struggling with the sickness, tiredness and low mood but it’s been nice to read that a lot of you on here are experiencing similar symptoms, makes me feel a bit more normal 😂I’ve just had a lot of comments from people saying I look pale and have dark under eyes I didn’t know if it was normal but I was just waiting to speak to my midwife

Sorry for the long post!

Cocobeau · 26/04/2022 14:09

@Elmorris9 I think it's different with each hospital trust so I can't say this is the case for everywhere but I did a self referral when I was 4 weeks. Got a called at the end of that week for my booking appointment to take place at 8 weeks. The day before that appointment I called to see if I could change the time and after looking at her diary she said the only other appointment would take me past 10 weeks, which was too late.
After I had my booking appointment at 8 weeks, that set off whatever in the system and I got my appointment for the 12 week scan. If you're comfortable sharing which trust you fall under, someone else here might be able to shed light on how it works in your area but if not, I'd be inclined to try and get hold of someone to check.

smiles39 · 26/04/2022 14:17

@Elmorris9 I’m 10 weeks on Thursday, self referred at 4 weeks and I’ve heard nothing about booking appointment or scan yet. I have been sent a Badger app to log into and complete booking questionnaire. So still waiting too 🤷🏼‍♀️

Kathno4 · 26/04/2022 14:35

Dating scan today!! I put myself due nov 2nd, midwife said nov 1st and I have been given nov 3rd officially today, baby bean is a little dancer already and loved posing for us 🥺🥲
feeling so so blessed 🥰

sarahj878 · 26/04/2022 14:43

@Kathno4 congratulations on your scan going well. I got my appt through for my 12 week scan and it’s on my birthday!

AbbiL0u · 26/04/2022 14:53

I have had my dating scan today! Baby is a wriggler and camera shy but everything looked good, the relief was one of the best feelings ever! I am a little further than thought and now due on 5th November rather than the 8th! So exciting 🥰

Hope you’re all doing okay! xx

Kathno4 · 26/04/2022 15:38

Thankyou @sarahj878 , my goodness what a birthday present 🥰
congratulations @AbbiL0u a little bonfire night baby 🥰

Elmorris9 · 26/04/2022 16:35

@Cocobeau Ah okay thanks for the help! I might leave it until next week and then try and contact someone if I’ve not heard anything. My area is Birmingham, maybe they’re just a bit slow here lol

Elmorris9 · 26/04/2022 16:59

@smiles39 oh I feel better knowing I’m not the only one then! I was just a bit worried as I keep reading online you should have the appointment by 10 weeks but I’ll just wait and see what happens 😊
