Is anyone else really struggling with heartburn/indigestion? I’ve had it all day and it’s just getting worse

BabyBird20 · 26/04/2022 18:07

@sarahj878 I have had awful acid heartburn for weeks! Every time I manage to eat anything I have to swing from a huge bottle of boots own gaviscon! 😬 I have to stay upright for ages after eating and feel like I'll be sick if I bend over which is hard to manage with a toddler!

Congratulations to those with their dating scans today! It's so exciting finally seeing them! Just had my 12 week scan date through for 16th of May so wishing the weeks away again! Though anxious I'll get high risk results again like last time 😬

LunaLisa · 26/04/2022 18:12

Hi, I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow. I already had a scan 2 weeks ago but wasn't far enough along for the tests. So nice to see baby again.
Just wondering if there's anyone from Kent Aylesford Maidstone areas. X

tigger2022 · 26/04/2022 21:27

I hope you are all doing well xxx

I ate a bite of something that tasted a bit off yesterday, and even though I couldn't have known I've been racked with guilt/stress ever since 😬

The HG is also not helping!!

Cruz86 · 26/04/2022 22:20

Hi @LunaLisa, I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow as well and I'm near Maidstone! Where are you having your scan? X

GabsK92 · 27/04/2022 05:38

Hello mamas! Some people had asked about symptoms decreasing (as mine have) and I spoke to my doc about it who said that it’s normal for them to decrease week 9/10/11. I think it’s so individual so hang in there! My baby was looking good though my dd has actually been moved to 1st dec so I’ll be joining the Dec group. Wishing you all the very very best xxxxx

Kathno4 · 27/04/2022 08:36

Good luck those with scans today,
quick question I can’t remember the answer to, when does the second trimester start, I’m at 12+6 today so will it start tomorrow or a week tomorrow 🫣

im spending so much time thinking about this 🤣

LunaLisa · 27/04/2022 12:46

@cruz86 Thank you good luck hope all goes ok.

roobearbaby · 27/04/2022 13:23

@kathno4 I was wondering this earlier. Thanks for asking

Cruz86 · 27/04/2022 13:41

Thanks @LunaLisa!

@Kathno4 I always assumed the second trimester started at 13 weeks but I may be wrong 😂

Chellooo · 27/04/2022 14:35

I somehow managed to create a new post with this, my heads up my bum 😭

I've got myself in a right panic. I noticed yesterday I was having a little brown discolouration when wiping etc, and a little bit of abdominal pain.
Today I felt fine-ish so went for a stroll but came back early as my back was really hurting and when I went to the loo, I noticed quite dark brown - almost as if it were the end of a period.
I'm lying here with my back twingeing and my stomach slightly crampy and I'm absolutely petrified.
I'm 10 weeks and to be honest I've noticed a reduction in symptoms the past few days and so now I'm full on panicking... my doc told me just to wait it out 😢

Can anyone offer any advice?

Hi Chellooo, I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. I'm just past 9 weeks and since 6 weeks I've had brownish discharge and when I went for an early scan last week the sonographer said this was normal and likely implantation bleeding. Yesterday around lunchtime I started bleeding heavily and bright red - I ended up in A&E for tests and although I can't get an ultrasound until next week, they said hormone levels were high and where they should be and to rest up.

If you're worried, check with your midwife/a&e etc. Thankfully yesterday I had no pain but I'm sure they would take this seriously and check you over. Hope things are ok x

Also, I don't have major pregnancy symptoms like nausea etc, so I worried too! I've been assured that this is normal and symptoms come and go, I've had friends and family members who's symptoms come and go at different stages and some who have had none at all. Xx

Chellooo · 27/04/2022 14:55

Thanks Teddy 💕

LEBee92 · 27/04/2022 16:12

I am waiting for an EPU scan on Friday morning as I have had bright red spotting so trying to sit tight til then. It’s not got heavier, only there when I wipe and no pain so trying to stay positive but it’s totally stressful so I feel your pain @Chellooo . I would go to A&E if it gets worse as that’s what I’ve been advised to do between now and the scan on Friday x

Pamctake2 · 27/04/2022 17:09

@Kathno4 I always thought 2nd trimester started at 13weeks and then 3rd trimester started at 28weeks but I could've just made that up 🙈

Sending positive vibes to all those that have had any spotting it really is such a stressful time but it's really common to have some spotting in the first trimester so try and stay positive until you are in for your scans x

Pamctake2 · 28/04/2022 07:08

It's scan day and I'm nervous just felt like I needed to write that down somewhere - send me all your positive vibes please 🙏

Bramblecrumble21 · 28/04/2022 07:29

Good luck pancake 2. First scan?

ALittleBitofVitriol · 28/04/2022 07:43

Fingers crossed @Chellooo , have you had any early scans? Try to be gentle with yourself, some bleeding like that isn't uncommon. Hope it stops quickly.

@Kathno4 I've read both 13 & 14 weeks for the start of 2nd trimester. One of those weird things 🤷🏻‍♀️
I tend to go with week 14 myself, because the first 2 weeks are technically preconception, then the next 2 trimesters are a neat 13 weeks each lol

Good luck @Pamctake2 !

Is anyone else not doing the 12 week tests?

I'm 12 weeks today!

Bramblecrumble21 · 28/04/2022 07:54

I couldn't think of a reason not to do the downs screening test. I've found out my mum didn't accept it when offered - reason she wouldn't choice to terminate if it was a downs child. But I never really thought that was the reason for the test (maybe niave). Just more information to prepare me. I do think if I were to be classified high risk, I wouldn't do further tests, but I can actually see how it could be axiety inducing.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 28/04/2022 08:31

Yes, that's similar to our reasoning @Bramblecrumble21 , wouldn't terminate, would rather not have the anxiety or pressure (or honestly, temptation) that can come from a higher risk result- especially as I'm older this time. If there's more to know we'll find out at the later morphology scan, there isn't a whole lot regarding care that would change between 12 & 18-20 weeks, if termination is off the table.
Not at all judging anyone else's choices (I am close with and love others who made different choices), just how we prefer to do it.

Elmorris9 · 28/04/2022 10:07

@Pamctake2 Good luck!!

Cruz86 · 28/04/2022 11:43

Good luck today @Pamctake2!
