Good morning everyone,
How are we all doing?
Does anyone else have a cupboard full of vitamins?
I am running low on folic acid but nearly 12 weeks so asked my midwife in the booking appointment whether it's worth buying more when I'm a few days short. She said yes, as although most babys are developed enough for folic acid to be as important after 11 weeks, some are slower to develop so it's worth taking it for longer as folic acid is good for more than just preventing birth defects. She recommended switching to a pregnancy multivitamin, when I said I take 3 separate (folic acid every day, iron and vitamin d when I think I need them). I was going to just buy folic acid though as daily iron is constipating and I have a healthy diet. However, the supermarket didn't have any so I got a cheap unbranded pregnancy multivitamin with 14mg of iron. I think I'll alternative that with remaining folic acid, as taking iron every other day seems to be working. My booking appointment was virtual as I have covid. I have bloods next Thursday, so I'm most interested how my Hb levels are. I have been fatigued for a fair few weeks, then more so since Sunday when I tested covid positive. From yesterday, I have some more energy.
Does anyone have headaches? I think it's covid more than pregnancy but I had them in my previous pregnancy - I think it was later on. I'm hoping they'll go in a few days.

AbbiL0u · 16/04/2022 09:55

@Bramblecrumble21 Hello! Sorry to hear you have covid and hope you feel better soon :( I am taking the multivitamins given to me by the midwife, seen some mention on here that they don’t have very good reviews (if it’s the same ones) but I’m not going to read up on it as it’s too late now 😬 hope your headaches ease up too!

I keep getting a pain in my lower abdomen, usually on one side, googled and it sounds like just growing pains so I’m feeling relieved. Anyone else having this? I also feel like I definitely have a little firm bump now, unless it’s just bloating because I’m eating a lot 🤣

Bramblecrumble21 · 16/04/2022 10:44

Thanks @AbbiL0u. Yes I get the same lower pain. It comes and goes and a few weeks ago it was if I stood up fast after I'd been sat for a while or if I sneezed of coughed. I was little worried when it was just on the left side, as I've had pain there in my first labour/postnatally. Also sometimes in periods since. I thought I might have some undiagnosed muscular/uterus issue but it then moved to the right side and hasn't got worse.

sarahxdx · 16/04/2022 10:46

Thank you I am so relieved ❤️ I can’t wait to start buying pink or blue 🥰

AbbiL0u · 16/04/2022 11:24

@Bramblecrumble21 that’s good to know thank you!

I have now started with brown spotting again after weeks without it, urgh! 10 weeks and 4 days, anyone else having this still? :( it is so stressful but just telling myself brown is a positive sign.. wonder if it is the stretching pains and general irritation which could have caused it?

Brailsbaby · 16/04/2022 11:33

Hi all, felt amazing yesterday no sickness was able to clean the house (which was overdue) and feel human. I managed to eat a roast first dinner in the weeks which was lovely however after I ate it I had extremely bad stomach cramps. I have had some cramps on and off since 😥. Today back to feeling awful.

Also feel very guilty as I can’t do anything with my daughter who is 2.5 without feeling dreadful sick and my husband is doing Everything!

I was hoping yesterday was a sign maybe the placenta was taking over and ild feel more human 🙈

I'm 10+3 and had similar since Thursday - I went into a real panic and booked a reassurance scan for this morning. Luckily everything was as it should be, they couldn't see a cause for the bleeding, but said it might be something to do with the placenta bedding in. Hope yours clears up too! I also think mine started after I walked to work on Thurs morning quite quickly for 40 mins, and I was digging in the garden yesterday, so using it as an excuse to take it easy!

firstimemumcj · 16/04/2022 18:33

Hi everyone, recently joined this group 😊 I'm pregnant with my first and currently 7 weeks 4 days. No major symptoms apart from some tiredness and extreme thirst! I have an early scan next week and I'll be 8w2d then and so exited! Praying everything is ok, at 6w I had some spotting (more like a tinged discharge) but nothing heavy and then some again this week but very inconsistent.

Hope everyone else is keeping well and symptoms aren't too bad 🤞🏻my SIL and friend are both pregnant and can't wait to tell people the good news!

AbbiL0u · 16/04/2022 19:38

@Anna783426 So pleased you had good news today, I’m pleased you’ve said that about the placenta as I thought the pains could be that kind of thing so hope they are just coinciding and things are just getting prepared inside! Going to keep an eye and hope it stops by tomorrow 🤞🏼

ZoeQ90 · 17/04/2022 06:25

Do not recommend potentially miscarrying on holiday. Hours over two days and two hospitals in A&E, no one really cares. Booked a private scan for Monday as I'm going insane with the unknown. 6 days of bleeding. Low HCG but couldn't get bloods taken for a 48h monitoring of change. Home next week, but worried local EPU won't care either. They've told me they won't scan if HCG is below 1500 even though I should be 9-10 weeks (5 weeks since BFP). Sorry to be a downer here.

AbbiL0u · 17/04/2022 09:11

Oh no @ZoeQ90 that sounds absolutely awful, are you okay? Where are you? :( I really hope the news is better than you’re expecting but it sounds really stressful, I hope you’re as okay as you can be xx

sarahxdx · 17/04/2022 09:57

I've just been reading my notes from when I went for a emergency scan on Friday, baby was absolutely fine but the nurse said something about me having a egg attached to my wall or something to be honest after I heard baby was fine I don't think I took much in, so in my notes it says "intrauterine pregnancy" does anyone know what this means I've googled it but it isn't that clear xx thanks x

roobearbaby · 17/04/2022 09:59

@sarahxdx it means your baby is in your uterus. I.e. not ectopic.

sarahxdx · 17/04/2022 10:15

@roobearbaby Thank you,i knew it would of been something so simple like that haha I think I'm just worrying about everything at the minute xx

roobearbaby · 17/04/2022 12:20

Oh I know the feeling!! Every single twinge, headache, sensation I get sends me into a panic.

Lou2022 · 17/04/2022 12:51

Oh @ZoeQ90 I'm so sorry. How terrible is it that you've had to book a private scan. I find the nhs provision of treatment in early pregnancy is awful! In so many other countries you'd have serial hcg's and scans without question. They only do what is cost effective without taking into consideration people's stress and anxiety.

TFMinx · 17/04/2022 13:15

I need a hand hold. I'm 9w 4d and have started bleeding. Sitting alone in A&E as my husband needs to look after our son. I'm so scared.

TFMinx · 17/04/2022 13:17

So sorry, I didn't realise @ZoeQ90 was experiencing similar. You poor thing, I have everything crossed for you.

Casper94 · 17/04/2022 14:50

@zoeq90 & @tfminx sending lots of hope and hugs to both of you so sorry you're both going through such a stressful time! 😔💞

xreadytoglow · 17/04/2022 15:09

I woke last night for a wee and wiped, and even in the dark I could see the tissue was covered in blood. Thankfully it seems to have stopped now but I went to EPU this morning and they did an internal examination (No sonographers working Easter Sunday!!) and listened to HB on Doppler. Luckily they said straight away the bleeding was from my cervix, I have cervical erosion likely due to the progesterone pessaries I have to take, and we heard the heartbeat ❤️
I was so so scared. I'm 10+5 today if that helps.

I'm praying you both get the same reassuring news @ZoeQ90 @TFMinx - thinking of you. 💐

TFMinx · 17/04/2022 15:32

Thank you @xreadytoglow I'm still in A&E and they have called up to gyne team. Bloods and urine are normal so far...
