17 weeks and I think I'm losing/lost the baby

Had another thread about midwife not finding the heartbeat and how I'm having a scan tomorrow, but I'm having cramps today in my lower back and down my thighs as if I'm about to come on and really sharp pains in my right hand side. I'm convinced I've lost the baby and my body is starting to catch up. I have tried phoning my midwife I don't think she's working today as no answer, I'm too early to go to the ward. What can I do? Or do I have to just sit tight until tomorrow? Sad

This hospital won't scan me until the morning but they did a speculum and said there's a very offensive smell in the blood and suggested it could be that baby passed a while ago Sad said it could be other things too but it's just awful Sad

Oh OP 💔

I'm truly sorry. This must feel like a nightmare.

Try to take it step by step till the morning. You'll know everything then & can get the care you need.

I hope they are being kind to you. 💐

Hugasauras · 20/03/2022 23:59

So sorry, OP. You're in the right place now. I hope you're getting some pain relief and can manage some sleep, and I hope morning brings clarity, if nothing else Thanks Will be thinking of you.

I’m so sorry you going through this OP. I went through the same last year and lost my little boy at 18 weeks. I too was transferred to a hospital with a private bereavement suite and I was very well taken care of.

I hope you are being looked after and I can only say how very very sorry I am that you are going through this. Please feel free to private message me if I can be of any help or support to you. Flowers

OopsImDoingItAgain · 21/03/2022 00:06

I just can't believe it's actually happening. 17 weeks everyone knows we've announced it, my 3 year old knows and is so excited Sad

I'm so sorry. I feel very unprepared for what's going to happen. I've asked for a run down on what this is going to look like at 17 weeks but they said until they know when the baby passed there's no point tormenting myself with the details as that will obviously change how this goes. I understand but I just can't prepare for something that I don't know about and it's sending me over the edge Sad

Hi OP,

I've lost babies at 8 weeks exactly, 14 weeks, 17 weeks and a day old baby that was born at 23 weeks.

The 14 weeks one looked exactly like the 17 weeks, just smaller. Fit completely in my hand whereas the 17 weeker was about half a size larger

They have no hair but they look like a tiny little baby and have features, just very similar looking (every baby around that age), as they have next to no fat at all at that stage

Their tiny hands and feet are perfect.

I'm sorry to be so detailed but I wanted to offer you some detail as it appears that's what you're looking for Thanks

I'm so sorry
