Food and drink in the bath sounds like something I might need to get on, although our bath is obviously full of toys. Also not keen on eating today (mega nausea today) so on balance maybe not for me @Minster2012

Not until mid June @Minster2012 - away with friends this weekend and then centre Parcs in March. Will also probably be out to France to see my sister so a few trips. Was reading the description of your holiday and a bit alarmed for you @Minster2012 until I read you were getting a weekend off!

That's good he's had his biopsy @bez91, hopefully results will show all is good. Definitely should get a night away whilst you can, I've told DH I want to go away for my bday in the summer and have also told MIL to expect to have DS more so we can enjoy our freedom whilst we can before it's ruined again for a while 😂

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 02/02/2022 21:44

@paintfairy oooooooo yeyyyy what does DH say bout it?

@larrythelizard yep I'm getting a nice relaxing weekend (I tried to get a spa trip in for the sat but cant) so I'll take a bath & some of my fizz at home & trashy movie 😊. God I need a bit more of the nausea cos here I am thinking "what could I eat for my breakfast tomorrow?" 🤔😬

@Justanothercyster another recommendation for 🥜 peanut, maybe I shall try playing mum tinder 🤪

@bez91 hope DH is feeling ok with the emergency & all, and that you get GOOD results for the biopsy soon. I still genuinely can't believe you haven't had a night on your own?! Get on it. Just say it not hints, he's a bloke!

Moving eeeeeekkkkk @Vil10 so you both moving in with your mum?!

@Juno231 im excited for you for Friday! It will be all good!

Ive totally fallen out with my preg pillow, mainly since DS weed on it on Saturday (obviously I've cleaned it) I just get frustrated with it atm. But my back is killing me! I feel like I'm hunching over so bad 😔

paintfairy · 02/02/2022 21:50

@Minster2012 erm, well I actually haven't told him yet. 🤣 He's still out. So I'll let you know! 🙈
Oh that's not good. The wee. Which pillow have you got? I'm dreading getting bigger and having the comfort issue. I also need to get back in my bigger bed to have the space to use a pillow, and I've no idea when that'll even be. Ffs. Why does no one work in a hurry? We have finally managed to book the plasterer though.

DKDK123 · 03/02/2022 03:25

@kaylsd what an adorable picture 😍

@Vil10 moving is always stressful even when not pregnant so take it easy. Good yo hear you've got a baby moon booked to give you something to look forward to. And great timing that your friend will be off on mat leave at the same time! The poor lady with the student must have felt in such panic, I hope she said something to the midwife, not to get the student into trouble but there's obviously more teaching to be done there on what to say! Our midwives say before they even put the doppler anywhere near you 'Now babies can be so wriggly it may take a while to find the heartbeat so don't panic if I don't pick it up right away."

Great news on the scan @larrythelizard, another milestone reached hope you can relax a bit now 😁

Glad to hear all is well at your end too @feliznavidad2, good news all round yesterday! 😁

@Minster2012 that holiday definitely didn't sound like it would be a relaxing holiday at 32weeks, glad you've been upgraded to a rest weekend instead! Ooh I'm intrigued too as to where DH is taking you on the 12th lucky thing!

@bez91 hopefully that will ease your DHs mind a bit once they get the results back from his lump, I remember you saying how worried he was at least it will be one less stress on his shoulders.

Ooh exciting on the gender scan @paintfairy!

Well ladies I just woke up with the biggest smile on my face because I've officially hit the 24 week mark 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 Little Emily's celebrating too by constantly booting me so she's obviously having a wee party to herself in there. Now just to reach Saturday and I will officially have reached longer than I did with DS without landing in hospital, thats my next milestone to hit 🤞🤞🤞🤞
A boy threatened to throw a chair at me in work yesterday and all I could think was not today, I'm less than 24hours away from reaching 24 weeks! I roared at him so loudly I think they heard me about 3 towns away, luckily it worked and gave him a fright so he turned and threw the chair at the wall instead of at me. Phew!

Minster2012 · 03/02/2022 07:18

@DKDK123 I was just going to say happy viability day 💓🎉each day is a result now come on Emily she's a fighter!!

@paintfairy well it's a long time to go in between the 12 & the 20 week scans so that's a way to sell it to him

larrythelizard · 03/02/2022 08:52

Hooray @DKDK123 fantastic milestone, work sounds a bit scary...can they at least aim for your face and miss the bump?!

Ooh a decision @paintfairy exciting!!

Sounds like you might benefit from googling some pregnancy yoga stretches @Minster2012? Or finding a class to go to?

Migraine here again today, it's been all week. I almost can't function with it but as I don't want to tell work I'm pregnant yet I'm having to drag myself a few reviews today. Do need to finish the document I'm reviewing with people first though 😬

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 03/02/2022 09:46

So I asked the midwife last week about not having my 28 week scan through & she said chase the scan unit. Just spoken to them & they've discussed me in their meeting & decided the scans will start at 32 weeks so w/c 27th March. Wish I'd known that when booking lasagna scan as would have spread it a bit 😖. Trying not to worry & be annoyed but am annoyed can't help it

larrythelizard · 03/02/2022 10:18

When have you got the lasagne scan booked for @Minster2012? Can you move it? Or maybe just book a cheaper quick peek scan to plug the gap?

OP posts:
becarefuloutthere · 03/02/2022 10:34

@Justanothercyster aw thanks 😊 I had such a nice day! Last day of work today and I'm so ready for the day to be done! Can't even doss as I have 3 zoom meetings that I'm running. I asked for her to put them at the start of the week and they're on a Thursday 🤦🏾‍♀️ clients! 🙄 I saw it was your little turtles anniversary the other day, how sweet! And how's little one doing?
@paintfairy yay you won't regret it! It's great knowing what you're having, I think so anyway.
@Minster2012 you'll love peanut 🥜 😏
Oh how frustrating on the scan front, hopefully private place can move it 🤞🏾
@DKDK123 yay to the milestone 👏🏾 but bit scary about that boy! 😟
@larrythelizard ah I hope it eases soon, you poor thing! When you planning on telling work then?

paintfairy · 03/02/2022 10:38

@Minster2012 annoying! But yeah I would can and try to move the lasagne scan? Be handy if you could.
@DKDK123 🥳 Happy 24 weeks! And how old are these children you teach? God. I would have knocked him into next week with said chair. Probably why a teaching career wasn't for me..... 🤭
@larrythelizard oh no. Shit on the migraines. I keep getting headaches still but have only had a couple of migraines. It needs to go on my list of things to tell the midwife actually. Not that I think they'll say anything useful. But its hard of you've got to keep going onto work like that!

Vil10 · 03/02/2022 11:16

@paintfairy I don't think I have an ultrasound direct where I am!

@feliznavidad2 ohh really?? That's annoying, especially when it's a special time!! I don't have a meet your miracle here! My first early one I had wasn't very thorough either, I felt like she was just a bit like yeah there's your baby that's the heartbeat there's only one baby, bye😂 oooo spa break sounds lovely!! I think I would've cried if they said thst to me!

@Minster2012 shame your holiday wasn't as planned but a weekend off you say?? Amazing!! And a mystery night away?? How exciting!!

@bez91 ohhh that's so annoying!! I hope they become more lenient for you🤞🏼 yess I remember you saying about moving in with your dad when pregnant! To be honest I don't feel that stressed about us living with my parents, they have the room and they're always out or away or on holiday so we won't be on top of each other, irs just the living out of boxes and the fear of not finding a house so the possibility of having to rent if we don't find one by summer, but I'm trying to stay zen because there's literally nothing I can do to change it! I hope DH results come back quickly and they're okay🤞🏼

@Justanothercyster oh I'm dreading the boobs after pregnancy!! Mine seem to have changed a little and look a bit bigger but don't seem it in my bra! You've put my mind at ease about the cramps!! Thankyou!' Hope you're all doing well💗

@paintfairy you're leaving team 💛!! But how exciting and the 12th isn't far off at all!!

@Minster2012 yepp moving in with my mum! Not ideal but we could be in a worse position! And I'd rather wait and find the right house for a family than rush into something and end up hating it! Cue the stressing about my mum and dad😂

@DKDK123 I've just been doing little things as OH is being very strict on what I can and can't do and on Saturday we have my dad and OH's friend helping moving all the big stuff so I'll just dictate😂 definitely!! It's hard because I know it can be difficult to find the heartbeat but like you say, she could've said something a bit less worrying! I'm going to keep it all in mind for when I go though!!
Also absolutely amazing milestone!! Happy viability day💗 she's definitely a little fighter🥳

@Minster2012 Hmm that is annoying!! Like the others said, could you maybe try and rearrange the lasagne scan??

kaylsd · 03/02/2022 11:17

@larrythelizard I think your onto something there with Rihanna and clothes not fitting 🤣! So glad to hear your scan went well and the little bubs is cooking nicely!
@juno231 good luck with your scan tomorrow :) 🤞🏻
@whatwonder thank you hun! I wish I had a hobby where I could make things 🙈
@paintfairy I had the first night sleep last night without no nightmares! Still strange though, went on a girls weekend to Blackpool but couldn’t drink as I was pregnant 🧐 and stayed in these flats what looked like drug dens🤭
@vil10 baby moon sounds fabulous! Hopefully it’ll be nice to get away and stress free from the house worries! I hope all the packing up process is smooth for you! Similar situation happened with my SIL, couldn’t find heartbeat at 16 week so they sent her into hospital for a scan and baby was there absolutely fine
@feliznavidad2 so glad to hear your scan went well too 😘
@minster2012 love surprises! Hopefully it’s a fabulous getaway for you both 😘 fingers and toes crossed you can move your scan so it’s less of a gap for you 🤞🏻
@bez91 I’ve done the exact same with DH dressing gown, claimed it for my own at the moment 🤣 sending hugs over to you with your DH, hopefully the results come back soon so you know where you stand with things hopefully the better outcome for you all 🤞🏻
@dkdk123 oh god bless you having to deal with situations like that, thank goodness it was the wall thou 🥺 so glad that little baby Emily has reached viability wooop woooppp!!!

I had a realistic chat at work the other day about scheduling holidays & the start of mat leave predictions (still doesn’t seem real yet thou 🤣🙈) it looks like if everything continues okay I’ll be going off face to face patient contact in may, annual leave to start in the middle of June to take me to my start of Mat leave around due date in august 👀 im enjoying my head being in the sand still.. I’m just sat here catching up and just noticed I bought some daffodils two days ago and they haven’t sprouted yet so it still looks like I have a vase full of spring onions 🤭🤣

Minster2012 · 03/02/2022 12:09

Can't change lasagne (is it e or a???) scan as the week after it's surprise day trip so just gonna leave it

Justanothercyster · 03/02/2022 13:41

@paintfairy how exciting! I can't wait to find out for you haha

@Minster2012 I loved it at first! But now I've uninstalled it as I've got my group sorted 😋
It's understandable that you're worrying, but try to stay positive, sending calming vibes your way!

@DKDK123 yay for 24 weeks! So happy for you x

@larrythelizard sorry you're suffering :( I hope it eases soon x

@becarefuloutthere yay for last day! You'll miss it if you're anything like me haha. Yes it was! He was 5 yesterday 🥰 love my little shell baby haha.
She's doing good! Just not napping as long during the day so I can't get as much done now 🙈

@Vil10 so naturally to worry, but I'm glad I've put your mind at ease a bit ❤️

becarefuloutthere · 03/02/2022 16:08

@Justanothercyster I'd be shocked to my core if I miss work 😂 well not anytime soon I doubt I will. Perhaps I'll be craving it by the end of the year. I'll do KIT days so that'll help me ease bk in.
Haha aww 🥰
Oh so does she feel like she's coming out of newborn stage now? Are you loving being a mum?
@Minster2012 I always spell it lasagne. Shame you can't change it but it'll be nice all the same. Do you have a section date scheduled btw or you waiting it out a bit longer?

becarefuloutthere · 03/02/2022 16:09

Scrap that @Minster2012 just checked the first page and saw it's a week before due date. My sisters is booked for the 19th! Also just seen that I'm next on the list to give birth...shitttt 😬 😱

Minster2012 · 03/02/2022 16:19

@Justanothercyster I feel those calming vibes (currently laid out on sofa whilst toddlers charge round MIL's!)

@becarefuloutthere ha ha ha you are next!!! 🤪no date yet other than "not before 39 weeks but as close to as possible" so I guess they will leave it to having the scans 🤷🏼‍♀️

larrythelizard · 03/02/2022 16:28

Oh yeah you're next @becarefuloutthere I'm so hopeful you get a due date baby as it's such a cool DOB!

No idea on correct spelling lasagne vs lasagna @Minster2012, you'd think we'd have an Italian in the midst to clear it up wouldn't you?!

Constant eating, lots of water, regular paracetemol, blue light glasses and a nap seem to have mainly kept migraine at bay, can feel it hovering though so will be pleased to not be on a computer the next few days (off work Friday and Monday)

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 03/02/2022 17:21

Lasagne vs lasagna, yeah where is the resident Italian when you need them! My kitchen cupboard says it's lasagne as I was getting spaghetti out for DS

Glad you've kept the headache at bay @larrythelizard I think you need to mention it to your midwife

Was it @bez91 who was on about wearing your dh's fleece as the only thing that did up? I got a maternity coat the other week, it's a parka with a thick layer inside that can be removed & a baby wearing pouch that zips on...it's nice font get me wrong but it makes me feel MASSIVE 🤦🏼‍♀️but I guess it needs to have growing room

Oh yes the cool DOB @becarefuloutthere that would be great! Shall we have a sweepstake?

becarefuloutthere · 03/02/2022 17:30

@Minster2012 ahhhh 😱
I doubt she'll come then as they're starting sweeps in week 39....but you never know i guess!
@larrythelizard it is cool isn't it. I kinda have to hope the second sweep works which is earmarked for the 19th as she said she'd do a home visit 🤞🏾
Enjoy your long weekend and hope the migraine buggers off soon!!

Out of office is on! 🙌🏾 first order of business of mat leave starts with a hot wax tomorrow morning 🤪

paintfairy · 03/02/2022 17:56

@kaylsd I had dreams last night but no nightmares! I just feel tired though when I feel I've been busy all night! 🤣
@Justanothercyster thanks! Yeah I am excited to know.
@becarefuloutthere I can't wait for my turn but I know I'll suddenly be bricking it when it is. 🤣 Someone has to be next though right? And yep, it's your turn! 😁
@Minster2012 I thought it was lasagne? Certainly in this country anyway. I'm not sure if everywhere spells it like that.

I've still not told DH about the scan. 🤣 Mostly because he's been in a foul mood today arguing with plug sockets and anything else in his way. Maybe later......
I have been looking up more baby things though and getting a sense of what I need (big things this is, christ knows what smaller things I need- someone needs to do is a list!).
I think my dilemma is this- assuming my baby hates change (I do) it would be best to keep things the same. Therefore if you get a sidesleeper, a cot seems a massive change at 6 months? A shnuggle air looks a good option, as its technically just getting bigger but it's essentially the same thing? I was originally looking at a snuzpod though, as they rock. 🤷‍♀️ I also plan to be edging this baby away from me way before 6 months. 🤭 What have people found worked before? The shnuggle moses basket is also something I've considered.

As for the small stuff- you see a billion things and how much do you definitely need, how much will you never use, and how much should you have just in case (even though it might end up unnecessary)? Maybe I should stick to horses. If anyone is getting a horse I'm happy to give you a list. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

SWAttempting · 03/02/2022 18:13

I have some news....

💖

Minsters Side Car - A few more bumps have now turned into babies - Thread 6
whatwonder · 03/02/2022 19:07

Lasagne and lasagna are both correct - lasagna is the singular and lasagne is plural (so the single sheet of pasta is lasagnA and plural is lasagnE). That's the rule for feminine words. Masculine words go from o to i (panino = singular, panini = plural)

as you were.

larrythelizard · 03/02/2022 19:31

Aha thank you @whatwonder so we've established that I'm a greedy bastard who has multiple lasagne sheets and @Minster2012 is a delicate eater who only has one lasagna at a time!

Ooh yay @SWAttempting!!

Baby doesn't HAVE to move at 6m @paintfairy - it's when you/they are ready. I moved DS at 4mo, I have friends who still have kids in with them at 18mo - it's really what works for you!

We had a load of shnuggle stuff because we got talking to them at the baby show and they were a lovely small company from Belfast and the lady we spoke to had designed the crib thing that extends to a cot!

But I really liked the side sleeper as I could keep one hand on his tummy whilst we slept/tried to sleep.

I wouldn't over buy but get Amazon prime if you don't already so things can arrive quickly if you decide you do need it!

OP posts:
paintfairy · 03/02/2022 19:37

@larrythelizard problem is- most of the side sleepers only go up to 6 months. So you still need to swap their bed? No matter where they are? Next issue is- no way would you fit a big cot in our room. But yeah the shnuggle is useful as it does extend and therefore isn't a big change. The space is still a problem mind. So many options. 🙈
My brother has prime! So I always get him to order everything. 🤣 I suppose you just don't want to buy crap you'll never need but at the same time know what you definitely will.
@SWAttempting yay! 🥳 Definitely a boy shortage going on......
