@Juno231 it looks like it's on a laptop too 😂 @paintfairy love it 😜

Minster2012 · 02/02/2022 08:04

I skk look so looked at that baby and thought "it's playing on a phone!" @paintfairy don't weird us out anymore!!

kaylsd · 02/02/2022 08:05

@larrythelizard good luck with your scan today looking forward to hearing how it goes for you 🤞🏻
@paintfairy thank you hun! Nightmares still present thou I think it’s the hormones, last night I was kidnapped and they chopped off my leg 🙃🤣 I hope your pooch is better today?
@feliznavidad2 Is that fashion these days? I could accidentally walk around like that thou these days as my size 8 coats doesn’t fit anymore 🤣🤣 we’re doing it all wrong! Don’t worry about the panic private scan things if it gives you a little bit of peace a mind then I’m all for them plus you get to see the progress with your little one and more personal than NHS scans ❤️
@bez91 thank you lovely! We told our aunties & uncles on each side which were over the moon for us both, one of them predicted it as they have said I’ve been glowing all over Christmas apparently 🤣 mums best friend also knows n she’s already asked what colours do we want our baby blanket knitted to be & cardigan 🥺🥺🤣 McDonald’s for the win always 👌🏻
@blackcurrantqueen @dkdk123 @minster2012 @whatwonder thank you lovely ladies ❤️
@minster2012 I hope your feeling better today and your pooch is better 🤞🏻
@vil10 that’s a strange one with your appointment did you ask to be consultant led? I remember being asked a question at my booking appointment if I’m happy to be midwife led or consultant led? Hopefully it’s to help support your pregnancy if you have issues as little bubs grows with your back 🤞🏻
@haiyaa team blue yay! Congratulations what a beautiful name for your little boy I hope your recovery is quick and you are able to rest with your bundle of joy the best you can!

Tried to check in from last two days as I’ve been at work, been so lovely telling external family about our little bubs 🥺❤️ felt a tiny bit more real! Mable helped us tell them I’ll attach the pic 🤣🥺 I had a moment of reflection last night feeling content at life last night in the bath (Luke warm btw) eating a large pork pie & skittles feeling this is the life 🤣🤣🤣 one thing I can say is my appetite has been my best friend through this pregnancy! Hope everyone is alright and having a lovely Wednesday ❤️ housework and dog walks for me today

Yes 12 week one @feliznavidad2 even though I'm pretty sure I'm only 11+4.

Absolutely bricking it. Thanks for all the love. DH seems to be as nervous as I am for the first time ever, or maybe he never just used to talk about it?!

It's a 30 min drive @paintfairy so plenty of time to get the water in. No doubt my bladder will be too full.

Ha maybe that's it @kaylsd that Rihanna's coat didn't fit! Pooch looks like a very proud big sister. Pork pie in the bath is the stuff of dreams!

Juno231 · 02/02/2022 08:37

@larrythelizard I'm getting scanxiety about my one on Friday 😬. I'm sure we'll both be fine though 🤞. I think I'll be 12+4 then or 13 weeks if still measuring ahead so I wish I'd had it at 11+4 like you!

whatwonder · 02/02/2022 09:16

congrats @Haiyaa and welcome to the gang, baby Oscar!!!

@larrythelizard totally get the scanxiety but all will go well today! xx

@kaylsd what a cute photo of your dog! and so lovely that you've been able to tell family :) how cute is your mum's friend with the blanket!

@Minster2012 how are you and X feeling today?

@paintfairy wtf is that photo?? this will now haunt my brain.

Kate105 · 02/02/2022 09:18

Congratulations @Haiyaa welcome to team 💙

Sounds rough @Minster2012 hope the arm is better now! My midwife said it was because it's a combined jab so it's the tetanus bit that fucks you over...

That picture @paintfairy 😂😂😂😂😂😂 dying

Better night with TSD last night and no overnight banter so feeling fressssssh (ish) this morning and I don't want to sound cocky but he's down for another cot nap this morning so solo breakfast 🙌🏻

I'm going into work tomorrow for interviews so leaving TSD with granny for the longest stint yet... Pray for us all! Super excited to get into work though and I bloody love an interview because I'm so nosey 😂

Parenting tip of the day for you @Minster2012 when you know he always does a poo after the afternoon feed, don't change his nappy until AFTER you've heard the noise. Sounds obvious but yet here I am... 😂🙈

paintfairy · 02/02/2022 09:29

🤣 I saw it on fb. But that picture is in an actual pregnancy book. Can you imagine if pre Internet you were pregnant, went out and bought a book and that was in it?! But then maybe her arm length might give away the fact it doesn't seem drawn to scale. 🤭
@kaylsd I'm still having dreams but at least they weren't baby related the last 2 nights.
@Juno231 they don't usually do them before 12. But I don't think the scanxiety ever goes away! Even at the end!
@Kate105 blame the lack of sleep? 🤣

Vil10 · 02/02/2022 09:32

@larrythelizard yeah that's a good point! It all seems so scary especially when it's your first and you just don't know what to expect!!

@Juno231 @Minster2012 I think I'm going to do what you two are doing/have done, I spoke to my friend who's a midwife and she said she always advises having it after 20 weeks, so I'll cancel my app and re book it nearer the time!

@bez91 that's really good that it's all in the same appointment!! Makes sense and wastes less time I suppose as well! Ohh that's so annoying on the leave! My OH is in the same situation, he has to take his by end of March but he has like 2 weeks, so he's going to ask his manager if he can carry some over in case he needs longer off when I've given birth! Surely they can make exceptions when you're pregnant??

@Minster2012 sorry you felt a bit rough! Just an excuse to make it again when you feel better! I've never been, maybe when it all starts again I should, I might really enjoy it!

@paintfairy That's what I thought, and at my booking in appointment and my appointment with the midwife at my 12 week scan they said everything looked great and I'm low risk! I'm glad you've said your DH didn't need to be there as I told OH he doesn't need to come and then I thought shit what if he does! Maybe see if you can hang on until your 20 week scan and then when you're there you'll know if you want to find out the gender!

@Haiyaa ohhh that's amazing news!! So glad he's here and well! Congratulations💙💙

@feliznavidad2 hahaha isn't it!! I'll be interested to know what it's for! I think I'm going to re book mine for after im 20 weeks! I don't blame you for booking a scan, I think the wait between the 12 and 20 week scans is so long and worrying!! And definitely, £50 is worth it!! Let us know how it goes🤞🏼

@kaylsd nope I didn't say anything about a consultant and neither did they! It's making me worry though, but I keep telling myself if there was something to worry about they'd have said on the phone when I rang to ask! I'm hoping it is just about my back!! Ohhh look at mable!! She looks gorgeous and so glad you got to tell family last night too!! Also that is the dream!! Skittle and a pork pie!!

@larrythelizard good lucky lovely!! I'll be thinking of you❤️

So I think we're moving out this weekend, my dads on van duty and we started packing up photo frames etc last night (however the ones above our bed I put on with these super sticky Velcro things last year and I physically can't get them off, so the guy moving in might have to get used to pics of us😂😂) I feel so so emotional about it and stressed at the thought of all those bloody boxes and things spread between places, so we've decided to book a babymoon for early May😂 on a positive note, my friend had her baby boy the other day and we'll be on mat leave together so that's exciting!! Just trying to get through this week without worrying too much about the move and the quad blood test next week and the mystery consultant appointment!

larrythelizard · 02/02/2022 10:18

Home again. All fine, baby measuring as it should, wouldn't stop wriggling about - pics nowhere near as good as DS (yes, already comparing to two 😂). Due date brought forwards a couple of days but I'm of the view that it's an estimate anyway so pretty much as I thought. Really really relieved, need to try and speak to my sister today before my parents!

@paintfairy I'm not sure it's an accurate pregnancy book 😂

Ooh where are you going to go on your baby moon @Vill0?

I think I'm going to try and move our holiday forwards a couple of weeks - looks like I'll be 34 weeks which is cutting it a little fine for my liking.

Good lad @Kate105!!

I'm sure you'll also be fine @Juno231 and you've already had the NIPT it probably matters less than if you were just having the NHS screening.

OP posts:
paintfairy · 02/02/2022 10:43

@larrythelizard excellent news! Where have you booked your holiday? Difficult one isn't it! Might be completely fine. But you do worry about cutting it close.....

Minster2012 · 02/02/2022 11:08

Yesssssssd excellent news @larrythelizard that's fantastic!!

Just a quick check in on that before brunch with SIL

feliznavidad2 · 02/02/2022 12:18

Lovely news @larrythelizard 😃

Baby also fine here, wiggling away.

Vil10 · 02/02/2022 12:31

@larrythelizard yesss amazing news! So glad everything was okay!! Well we're restricted because we aren't vaccinated and with it being early may it has to be somewhere with decent weather so it was either Cyprus or Portugal but for Cyprus we'd have to have 4 tests each!! That's too much stress for a holiday so I think we're opting for Portugal!

@feliznavidad2 so glad everything was perfect with baby! You've definitely made me want to book a scan for a few weeks time!

Also girls how awful must this have been, I saw a family friend today and she told me her granddaughter was 16 weeks and she had her midwife app yesterday and they had a student in and she couldn't find the babies heartbeat with the Doppler and actually said to the woman "we can't find the heartbeat so just give us a minute whilst we get another midwife in" 😳😳😳 thankfully they found the heartbeat and everything was fine but how awful!!

larrythelizard · 02/02/2022 13:15

Really pleased to hear that @feliznavidad2!

Holiday is Majorca @paintfairy so nowhere that exotic

Wow yeah that sounds a lot of tests @Vil10. With DS they were very cautionary about how easy (or not) it was to find a heartbeat at the 16week appt as baby is still pretty small still.

I just ate some mango and it was the literally the best thing I've eaten in ages, I'm sad I only bought one pack of it (the whole ones weren't ripe!)

OP posts:
paintfairy · 02/02/2022 13:29

@larrythelizard oh god, I thought you meant in this country. And I was just thinking it wouldn't be ideal if you were several hours away in a hospital away from home. I certainly wouldn't go abroad. I think some airlines want drs letters after 28 weeks too.
@Vil10 what are the Portugal rules atm? 4 tests certainly sounds excessive. And the heartbeat thing i think happens often. You have to not panic when they can't find it as its not always that easy. But I think I'd rather they didn't bother in some ways. 🤣
@feliznavidad2 yay. Great news! Happy baby.

Vil10 · 02/02/2022 14:25

@larrythelizard I know, and I really didn't want the stress and worrying!! Majorca will be lovely!! I know I'll be a wreck before my appointment then😂

@paintfairy from the 11th feb it's just a negative test before you fly and to fill in a plf form then a negative test 72 hours before you fly back to the U.K.! So a lot less faffing! Yeah I know what you mean, you want to hear it but the worry and panic if they can't find it at first😳

Vil10 · 02/02/2022 14:29

@paintfairy also just been looking at window to the womb and possibly booking a scan for a couple of weeks and they do a scan for £55 and it includes quite a bit, thinking if you book with them too? Not sure if it's normal for all private clinics to offer detection of abnormalities and a report for us to keep, but definitely something to look at! I'll attach the description

Minsters Side Car - A few more bumps have now turned into babies - Thread 6
paintfairy · 02/02/2022 14:41

@Vil10 I think ultrasound direct do. But no, you are right, many don't! You do have to be careful where you go.

feliznavidad2 · 02/02/2022 15:58

@Vil10 @paintfairy mine was at Window To The Womb today and it was fine, it felt quite 'sales-y' though, and the Sonographer wasn't especially thorough compared to my one really early on at Meet Your Miracle - not sure if you have one of those nearby?

@Vil10 Portugal sounds dreamy, as does Majorca @larrythelizard

We've got a few nights in the country at a spa 🧖‍♀️ before baby comes in April which should be lovely, DS is being looked after by one of his grandparents.

That would've been the end of me @Vil10 - hate it when they start scanning and don't confirm everything is ok straight away too... 😬

My MW didn't offer to check HB at 16 week appt but did when I was preggo with DS, was two stone thinner then though so maybe she wasn't up for the err challenge - which I'd prefer than them trying and not finding one.

Hope you're ok @Minster2012 and had a good brunch.

Minster2012 · 02/02/2022 16:50

Catching up in my (hot) 🛀 bath with my (non alc) cider!

@feliznavidad2 yesssss another great result! And looks so good on the Insta pic, spine of a legend that one!

There are some holidays afoot then! @larrythelizard when do you go to Majorca? And you going away too @Vil10 I'm jealous. Our "holiday" soon is for the end of March & not a holiday now pregnant, a family reunion on for DH's family not far away from us in log cabins with a hot tub each & a weekend walking (not easy with a toddler) so at that point I'll be 32 weeks so not exactly the ideal time for a "walking weekend trying to entertain DS (with naff all to do) & drinking prosecco in the hot tub" so DH taking DS on his own & im having a weekend off😂

He has also said that him & I are off somewhere for the night of 12th feb. Oooooooo I'm intrigued 💓

Minster2012 · 02/02/2022 19:31

Oh and that tip noted @Kate105, DS def had pooing times so we often waited it out like slatterns 😊

bez91 · 02/02/2022 19:33

@paintfairy that photo 😂 wtaf, I though the mums hand was an cashier or something and her other arm 😂 I'm going to send that to DH!

@kaylsd oooh lovely 🥰 and your pooch 😆❤️ snap I'm fed up of not being able to fasten coats and jackets. I've stolen DHs 'dad like' fleece as i can actually zip it up to wear

@Vil10 it is a bit daft, I'm more annoyed that my EDD is a single month over 'year end' hence why I'm having to mess about. Hopefully your DHs work are understanding! Sounds super stressful with moving out, it will work out ok whatever happens, I mentioned before we had to move in with my dad when I was 5 months pregnant for a couple of months so our sale could go through whilst we waited for our house, so so stressful but it worked out in the end! Ahh not really the thing to say is it 😳 I had my 25 week app on Monday and it took the midwife ages to find the heartbeat but they do sometimes, there were certainly other things to say to "stall" things rather than that!

Really made up for you @larrythelizard super news and you too @feliznavidad2 ❤️

Oooh a night away @Minster2012 sounds lovely. I'm trying to drop hints to my dad so we can get away pre baby #2 for our first full child free night together in 4.5 years 😆

DH had his biopsy on his neck today, think I mentioned pre Christmas re a lump he has had for ages and they don't know what it is, so fingers crossed for results back from that soon! He's had to drive over to his family's this evening for a family emergency in lots of pain so actually have my violin out for his this evening

Justanothercyster · 02/02/2022 19:40

@2020mission yeah I had the booster after just because that's when it came out and I was offered it! And yeah, induction is poo but seems like such a good idea until you actually go through it...

@Lexber yeah! Emma's diary is so good!

@Juno231 nct is super expensive! Check fb groups for new mums in your area or try the app Peanut, I've made some solid mum group friends that way x

@DKDK123 I'm so sorry to hear about your Nan 💔 sending hugs

@becarefuloutthere ahhh exciting!! And lovely cake 🥰

@Minster2012 I think it's just because dh has such a massive family and the last baby was 10 years ago so they can't stop buying us crap 🙈 someone recommended Little Pickle fairs to me too, worth checking if there's one in your area?
What is this "sleep" thing you speak of...??

@Vil10 typical man haha! Tell him to take a night off of training plan 😂
My boobs only went up a cup size towards the end tbh, but breastfeeding made them HUGE at first! They feel like empty sacs now my supply has regulated 😑 nipples went big too 😳
I had cramps the whole way through, don't worry!

@Crazydoglady123 congratulations 🎉🥰🥰 most ADORABLE picture ever

@SWAttempting id be pissed off too!!

Sorry I've not replied to everyone! But I have skim read and sending everyone hugs ❤️ I'm just so tired I'm actually going cross eyes now 😳

paintfairy · 02/02/2022 19:44

@feliznavidad2 we've got the original one here actually. The reviews online are good and maybe they are better than most. But looking at photos it all looks a bit OTT with what it looks like. And I find with a lot of them you get the bare minimum and there's loads of add on costs. I've actually gone with ultrasound direct now. I went there at 10 weeks and it was fine. No gimmicks. And you get all your photos and videos on a link sent to your phone. Plus print outs.
@Minster2012 oooohhh a surprise! That's intriguing!
@bez91 fingers crossed that the results all come back OK! I hope they don't make you wait too long.

I've bitten the bullet and booked a gender scan for the 12th. 🙈
