@vil10 I'd hold off on the vaccine until after 20 weeks as the point of it is to transfer immunity to the baby, and week 16 is the very earliest you can do that. So I'd want to be on the safe side
think! Eg at my hospital they don't even start the vaccines until after 20 weeks. Your dinner sounded amazing btw!

@Haiyaa best of luck!!

bez91 · 01/02/2022 10:32

@paintfairy ground CLOVE 😂 dammit. What you're considering leaving team yellow? 😆

@Haiyaa best of luck for today ❤️

@whatwonder ooh that date is also my next appointment. Yes definitely keep an eye on it but going away will probably be a good distraction too but I get the bad feelings if that's where you were before

@Vil10 my hospital do that kind of, they never used to when I was pregnant with DD but basically every time I have a scan at the hospital I also see the consultant as they're in the same place in the hospital so they join it all up but it's all part of the same appointment so not separate letter. If you're not consultant led you obvs just only see the midwife and the sonographer but it seems to vary everywhere so much!

My body feels wrecked and painful already and I'm only 25 weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️. Annoyed that my leave runs out end of March, I've got loads left but can only carry 1 week into April so I've had to book random weeks off in February and March for no reason when it would be more beneficial to me and them to tag it on to the start of my mat leave so I can actually get stuff done at work NOW. HR have said no, I might have to plead poverty with my director. She's been fab with the MC stuff and it seems silly otherwise!

Crazydoglady123 · 01/02/2022 11:37

Good luck today @Haiyaa

Minster2012 · 01/02/2022 12:01

Watching DH eat a bacon sandwich what @Haiyaa that's not fair I'd def make him leave the room!!

@Vil10 I have whooping cough today at 24 weeks but it was booked for 22 & they cancelled it. I was also making it get in with getting X his vaccines so it was more for convenience for me. The bilimbap was lovely but I only ate a bit as just felt a bit rough. Glad OH loved his day watching Cassius do his thing. I really enjoy it. My hospital don't do the consultant thing as standard but I think it's great

@whatwonder I would still speak to the MW & say you haven't felt movement, to reassure you before you go cos of the extra anxiety

@Kate105 speed read the sleeping book & sending a fist pump of solidarity. Cot naps are REALLY good though so please don't forget that win

@bez91 I'd def speak to manager about tagging the leave on & also say surely it's better for them from a continuity of work /helping covering perspective as surely they would have someone covering you so it's easier for them to extend that person covering than random weeks holiday now??? I'm also feeling a wreck atm.

@paintfairy it is nice thinking "i can feel HER move" give the baby an identity. We don't use the name we think for her but it's really good 😊

paintfairy · 01/02/2022 14:26

@Juno231 interesting thought. It hadn't crossed my mind but I can see why that would be an issue.
@Vil10 odd. In my area you only get bounced to the consultant if you score anything high risk at your booking appointment. But maybe all areas differ? It was ok though and mainly just talking over things. I did take DH but he didn't really need to be there. I'm not taking him to the next one. I haven't decided on the gender scan! Aaarrrgghhh. And whooping cough i was told after 16 weeks but I haven't booked it as I realised I didn't know where it was meant to happen. I'll ask next week though at my midwife appointment.
@larrythelizard the nub isn't visible on any of my scan photos! 🙄
@Haiyaa I hate how they keep you waiting. I hope not too long.
@bez91 I have the same leave issue. I've 8 left and the new boss is saying we can only take 3 over. So I've got to use 5 before end of march and I don't need them. The other boss used to let us take 5 without special requests. 🙄 I suppose I can ask but I've not actually told them I'm pregnant so I'll have to do that to put forward my reasoning. 🤣
@Minster2012 yes, rather than just thinking of the baby as an 'it'. Which is kind of where I'm at!

larrythelizard · 01/02/2022 16:27

I don't know if im confused between a potty shot and the nub @paintfairy but I deffo didn't have a potty shot with DS and they could work it out? No idea how it works though...!

I'm wondering how many rennies are too many rennies?! Heartburn is insane this afternoon, I think triggered by some raisins!

paintfairy · 01/02/2022 18:18

@larrythelizard nub theory is a thing. How accurate i don't know. But you just can't see it on my scans, I did post them on a nub theory group. I therefore tried a skull theory group instead. Again, probably not that accurate. 🤣

Haiyaa · 01/02/2022 18:42

Just a quick one ladies will catch up over the next few days. I’m here to start evening up the score, my 💛 is officially a 💙! Oscar, born weighing 9lb 5oz, 38w 4d so still a chunk but not as big as DD!

We are so in love and I’m so happy to have my 🌈, I’m staying on the thread as I need to keep track of these babies but I wanted to thank you all for your support both on this thread and the TTC one. You ladies rock! I can’t wait for you all to have your babies too!

2020mission · 01/02/2022 18:53

Yay congrats @Haiyaa 🎉 team blue has expanded slightly! 💙 definitely stick around... I have 😅

feliznavidad2 · 01/02/2022 18:58

Hope you're ok @whatwonder it's so stressful isn't it? 😫

Huge congratulations @Haiyaa 🎉💙 lovely news. That's a good size for his
gestation!

@Vil10 that sounds like super service, having a consultant appt for everyone! I've got my whooping cough vaccine on the day of my 20 week scan as apparently that's when they do it here.

Had a funny five minutes this morning and booked a last min private scan for tomorrow. I'm a sausage. It's only been 5 weeks since I last had a scan, but the waiting two weeks tomorrow until my 20 week one felt far... (and you ladies will get this, DS kneed me accidentally but really hard the other day in the lower tum and I've been feeling anxious about it ever since). Figure it's worth the £50 to stop me flapping... 🤷‍♀️

larrythelizard · 01/02/2022 19:05

Yay @Haiyaa and welcome little Oscar! So pleased all is well 💕💕💕

£50 not to flap seems like a small price @feliznavidad2

paintfairy · 01/02/2022 19:49

@Haiyaa Congratulations! I expect most the 💛 are 💙 and you are starting us off! Welcome little Oscar. I'm so pleased everything went well. Look after yourself and enjoy this whirlwind of a week!
@feliznavidad2 I think it's normal. I'm thinking I can't get to 20 weeks also. 🙄 The gap is a long one! Later on you have the baby moving etc but right now you are just in a world of hoping its OK! So hopefully no need for more extra scans once you pass the 20 week.

DKDK123 · 01/02/2022 20:08

@paintfairy not sure if its just my hospital or all Scottish hospitals but it's been in place from when I was pregnant with DS too. I didnt realise other hospitals do tell you at the 20week scan until ladies on here started talking about it.
Hope your dog's better today, yours too @Minster2012

@whatwonder I spent many an hour hooked up to the hospital monitors with DS so I'm a pro at chasing baby with the doppler and can hear the difference between the heartbeat and blood whooping thru the placenta so I'm quite comfortable with the home doppler. But after 28weeks if I had any concerns about movement I'd be straight into my hospital I def wouldn't rely on the doppler for anything like that.
But if you're feeling anxious about anything just ring your MW that's what they're there for, don't feel bad about it they'd rather put your mind at ease than have you worry by yourself, even if they dont get you in just having a chat to them may help ease your worries.

@larrythelizard I ate Rennies like sweeties when pregnant with DS, the heartburn was horrendous.

Congratulations @Haiyaa and welcome to the world little Oscar! 🥳

Minster2012 · 01/02/2022 20:15

How many rennies did you decide was enough @larrythelizard? Are you feeling better?

@Haiyaa yesssx congratulations 🎉 that's fantastic!! And a boy!! Hey Oscar ❤️They exist! And don't you dare go away 😂im gonna follow purely for parenting tips from @Kate105

@feliznavidad2 it's a looooooong time between those scans so doesn't seem like loads for peace of mind

Had whooping cough vaccine earlier, dead arm. Poor X wasn't happy with his 2 jabs one in each arm, not happy at all & was horrible holding his arms down 😔

Minster2012 · 01/02/2022 20:16

There's also @larrythelizard tomorrow with your 12 week scan right?? Huge good luck & hood it's early 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

blackcurrantqueen · 01/02/2022 20:44

@Haiyaa ahhh what lovely news 🥰 congratulations! Glad he has made a safe arrival xx

larrythelizard · 01/02/2022 21:04

Poor little x and poor you @Minster2012 did you both have a treat after? Still going on the rennies, it eased off enough to eat a bland tea and then came back. Migraine gone though which is something.

Yes, first thing tomorrow at an inconvenient location for my scan, stomach been sore the last couple of days but mainly trying not to think about it, DH is more stressed than I am about it!

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 01/02/2022 21:16

Will be thinking of you @larrythelizard

Minster2012 · 01/02/2022 21:27

Maybe an in convenient location but first thing is brill @larrythelizard but I hope you feel better ❤️‍🩹 we went to get a cake treat but the bakery was closed near the doctors so it was a "boost" for me & a nasty shop bought muffin from a packet for him & a lollipop too 🤪

paintfairy · 01/02/2022 22:23

@larrythelizard I actually find first thing awkward as I don't have enough wee! 🤣 But at least you don't have to dread it all day. Good luck. 🍀
@DKDK123 ah I forgot you were Scotland. Maybe it's just up there? Dog seems fine today, really random! Proper had me worried.
@Minster2012 I'm not looking forwards to that then!

I'm just going to leave this picture here...... 🤭

blackcurrantqueen · 01/02/2022 22:35

@larrythelizard everything crossed for you for the morning 🥰

feliznavidad2 · 02/02/2022 07:40

Is it your 12 week one @larrythelizard ? I've lost track

Juno231 · 02/02/2022 07:54

@Haiyaa aah welcome baby Oscar! Yay for team blue! Also what is this chat about lingering in this chat - I fully expect all you baby mamas to stay 😅

@larrythelizard best of luck today!

@paintfairy @DKDK123 yeah it's a Scottish thing! I used to work for a Scottish company and it was something I learnt then when some of my Aberdeen colleagues got pregnant.

Juno231 · 02/02/2022 07:55

@paintfairy that sitting baby 😂

becarefuloutthere · 02/02/2022 07:57

Congratulations 🥳 @Haiyaa I hope you're both recovering well! Xx
