@Minster2012 yep, it's the bed. Gonna go to the guest room as it doesn't need cleaning Grin
@2020mission I bled the first time, probably because I was 39+1, I'm plus 4 today so hoping I'm more open n it'll hurt less! Yeah I'm surprised she's coming out too tbh, she suggested she do it. She's a new midwife to the practice (as of last week), so I wonder if there's an element of looking good to her bosses etc, either way I'm not complaining!
Ah thanks, hope I get 22nd too 🤞🏾 I'm hoping I'll have more of an indication after today! U ok?
@Vil10 enjoy tonight and tomorrow, exciting times! Smile

2020mission · 19/02/2022 13:50

Ohh really @becarefuloutthere 😬 I was 38+4 at my first sweep but luckily no bleeding at the time just some spotting about 5 hours later. It was just cramping I felt at the time maybe I was lucky and she wasn't as rough as some? Although she did say I was 1cm at the time and had a favourable cervix so that might have helped. All good thanks! Matthew is doing well. First vaccinations on Monday so that should be fun. Still quietly following all of your pregnancies here

paintfairy · 19/02/2022 14:03

@2020mission ooohh I'm not sure he'll be looking forwards to that! Eek.
@becarefuloutthere yeah it's kind of awkward it's your house in some ways but you can't just lie on the bathroom floor? 🤣 So I guess it'll have to be the bed?
@Minster2012 yeah you are right. Everything just takes an age. Pisses me off. Plus you go round in circles. We had painted the ceiling already, which the joiner has marked. And he's also put cups onto the newly painted windowsill, so now so does that. 🙄 A spa day?! Jealous!

So- we temporarily have sorted the roof but it started raining before we could really do it. What we've done is holding for now but more wind (and heavy rain) due tomorrow. So we might have to redo it later with better plastic. Until we have dry weather to refelt it. Grrrr. We have ordered a carpet though and it's coming a week on Monday (DH has a few things to sort, else it could have come Tuesday). Not much choice for the size we wanted (its an offcuts shop) but it'll do i think! I'll be glad to get back in there.
Something happened today that was new to me. I've felt OK really so far. But I started crying because I was hungry. 🤨 Is this normal? 🙄🙈

becarefuloutthere · 19/02/2022 16:44

@2020mission ooh that was an early one! I think you were lucky. She was a bit rough with me but I guess cos I was only 1/2cm and she should've just given up, but she didn't 😂 only 1cm today so that was a little disheartening but it hurt a lot less and virtually no bleeding this time so cervix is playing ball now at least. Next one will be on due date. 😬
Aw glad you're both all good, hope Monday goes well!
@paintfairy ha you're right, no idea why bathroom came to mind 😂 this pregnancy has seriously messed with my brain I swear! 🤪 ah bless you crying with hunger!! I would just feel really sick and dizzy so I always had food at my disposal!
I'm glad you have a temp fix for the roof! We have debris in our garden to sling bk over the fence! We're on a new build site so it's literal debris.

Minster2012 · 19/02/2022 17:59

Oh good so frustrating with the workmen damaging work already done, we had that when our wardrobes were fitted in the last house they scratched the brand new wooden floor. I was LIVID! I'm going round in circles looking at kitchens, tiles, bathrooms argh 😖 did you mean the roof on the Wendy house? Like a kids house outside? Oh bless you crying cos you are hungry, def make sure you keep snacking on things, You need to keep strength up

@2020mission my friend ended up having 4 really rough sweeps to try get DS out 😬, it did the trick though. Have they said when they might be thinking of an induction for you?

@2020mission I doubt they'd come out here to do sweeps either as literally the "patch" for the sake midwife team covers so much ground for little villages it wouldn't make sense but we'll see

@Vil10 another exciting scan for you tomorrow!! No Willy spotting 😂

We've been swimming which I felt pretty ok with , not quite a 🐳 yet...but ask me after we get pizza soon 😂

And I got the caneston, oh the joys for a Saturday night, DH snoozing on the sofa by the fire, DS & I just FaceTimed DB & nephew which is so stressful with toddlers 😂 so it's def time to relax now 😊

paintfairy · 19/02/2022 18:15

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4484928-would-you-allow-best-man-s-newborn-at-wedding?watched=1&msgid=115243611#115243611 yeah just bring someone else? Great idea
🤣
@Minster2012 going round in circles just really annoys me. I would have been livid about the floor too and asked them what they were going to do about it! And yeah we've got a (maybe it's a summer house?) Wendy House thing in the garden that was already here. Its full of crap. 🤣 So like an extra shed. I actually had a bacon cob in the end and I don't think it was that bad, the hunger. No idea why i cried. It came from nowhere. 🤣 Hopefully the caneston will help. I find i have to find a balance with it, as using too much- burns.
@becarefuloutthere debris doesn't sound ideal! 🙈

Minster2012 · 19/02/2022 18:22

Using too much burns @paintfairy nooo I don't want that!! First time I've ever had thrush so it only seems very mild. The wardrobe guys sorted the floor, I made them. It looked awful but they lightly sanded it & reoiled then left me the oil as an apology so it was ok in the end.

I read that thread the other day, we went to a child free wedding in august & it was a bit weird as there were 2 flower girls & a page boy who were toddlers then 3 young babies. So it was a bit like half and half?! Like it's just YOUR kids we don't want 😂, no skin off our nose mind you as we are fortunate to have parents around who are happy to help so for it's it's a winner 😊

larrythelizard · 19/02/2022 18:28

I went @feliznavidad2 it was actually pretty good!

In France the recommended weight gain is even less and they weigh my sister at every MW appt @Juno231!

I had it prescribed @Minster2012 but it was deffo the same as the otc one.

Yes maybe every other week instead of every week @bez91 the problem is I can't shift them when they hit. Am thinking I'll pop an e-consult over to the Dr on Monday once they're open in case there's some better meds.

That's lovely that it's yoga next week @Juno231

Seconding @Minster2012 on how many clothes DS gets through now @Kate105! Have a lovely trip!

Sounds like some good pampering @Minster2012 I'm booked in for a facial in a couple of weeks

Sounds a lovely productive weekend @Vil10!

I'm normally made of stone with no emotions (other than angry and hungry and tired) @paintfairy but have found myself full on sobbing to greys anatomy @paintfairy so yes a preggo thing!

I'm also rooting for 22.2.22 @becarefuloutthere!

OP posts:
bez91 · 20/02/2022 06:49

@becarefuloutthere I had no idea they'd come to your house for the sweep! Any news thing morning on its success? I remember my postpartum visit from midwife with my legs up in the air on my bed whilst she looked at my stitches 🙈

@paintfairy glad the summer/Wendy house is ok for now. Our neighbours aerial blew over and has smashed one of their solar panels which I imagine will be quite an expense! YANBU to cry when you're hungry IF you're pregnant 😂 that post is bonkers. I've never been to a no kids wedding but I'd definitely expect small babies to be exempt from the rule!

@larrythelizard definitely get in touch with your GP especially with your history. I know they can be hormonal but better to get it checked out as they've gone on a while now.

200 mile round trip to a family baby shower today. Looking forward to it but so so knackered 😩 my dad is coming with me. Not to the shower 😆 but to see other family down there because he didn't want me to drive alone while DH is preoccupied taxiing for DDs busy social life. I do like a baby shower despite never wanting one myself 🙈

larrythelizard · 20/02/2022 09:14

I've never been to one @bez91 I'd quite like to experience it although not for me! Nice that you have a chauffeur to drive you!

I also don't think they do sweeps at home round here @becarefuloutthere - they offered to do the first part of my booking appt here instead of on the phone but decided to stick with the phone so I didn't have to tidy up (although a phone appt for a sweep would be tricky!)

DS has randomly started playing babies with his teddies - we haven't even told him I'm pregnant!

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 20/02/2022 09:17

@bez91 god I think your neighbours must be really upset about the panel eeeeekkkk. This is the baby shower where you don't want (brother's is it?) girlfriend touching you? Hope she doesn't

@larrythelizard @feliznavidad2
can I use the cream too? I think it might be necessary 😬haven't seen greys anatomy for years!

@Vil10 good luck for your scan today

larrythelizard · 20/02/2022 09:38

Yes I think it's just the tablet that you can't @Minster2012 - it's a horrible thing!

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 20/02/2022 10:06

Wait you can't use the tablet? As in the pessary @larrythelizard?

becarefuloutthere · 20/02/2022 10:32

@larrythelizard thank you, it's looking less likely as each day goes by 😢 ah well! She'll prob come on the 23rd just to wind me up 😆 and yes I agree, a phone apt for a sweep would be a tad tricky 😂
Oh bless him! When you planning on telling him?
@bez91 nope! Still feel the same 😒 ah bless your dad accompanying you on the journey! Hope you enjoy the day 😊 and don't get touched up by your bil bit of fluff!

larrythelizard · 20/02/2022 10:50

No as in the oral tablet @Minster2012 (magic blue pills)

Not sure @becarefuloutthere but when it's much closer and I've maybe got a bump. Definitely not yet, he constantly asks when Santa is coming...!

OP posts:
paintfairy · 20/02/2022 11:02

@Minster2012 the pessary makes me bleed. I try to just use the cream and catch it as soon as it starts. But I can't over use it as even that makes me sore.
And I would have expected them to sort the floor too! Someone i know actually had a brand new kitchen fitted with posh wood worktops. The tile man came after that and god knows what he did but completely ruined the worktops. They had to be sanded down and reoiled etc. He paid though, had to.
@larrythelizard I've not felt like crying until then so it was weird! Hoping it won't happen too often. Jeez.
@bez91 shit on the solar panel! Not good at all. But they are more trouble than they are worth. Bet loads get damaged in wind. Next doors fence came down but I was pleased as it's needed replacing for ages. 🤣 Enjoy the baby shower! I hope its worth the drive. 🤭

We didn't have many kids at our wedding. Thing is- other than small kids (at a tenner each or something) anyone bigger was full price and we only had under 50 people anyway. No way was I paying £80 a head for people to bring kids. 🤣 Having said that - it worked for us because we don't really know any. My cousins live miles away and bought theirs but that was it. I have one friend who had one, but her mum had her and it was no issue. And then any of the others were much older and not ones I've ever met or know. And same for DH. So I suppose it just depends on who you know at the time. Oddly the only person that took exception was a friend of DHs who I've never met (so IMO was lucky to get invited as they didn't see each other at the time) and he wanted to bring his 14 year old daughter. He was really arsy about it and didn't come in the end. But since we never saw them anyway it was no issue to me. 🤷‍♀️ Likely we'd have never seen them again after the wedding had they come or not, so I wasn't bending over backwards for them. DH went to their wedding so he was just being polite inviting them really.

Minster2012 · 20/02/2022 13:06

A 14 year old daughter @paintfairy that is taking the piss!! I guess after 2.5 years of ivf & TTC progesterone use my foof is probably practically welcoming to a pessary 😂

Thanks @larrythelizard that's good i didn't get a tablet only the pessary & cream

So I checked my weight today at 27 weeks today & I've put on nearly 6kg, which is 13lbs. I don't know how much of that was trimester one then trimester two but what do you all think? I'm struggling to fathom

feliznavidad2 · 20/02/2022 13:24

Yeah don't use the oral tablet, I did before I knew I was preggo on that fateful awful thrush day and then panicked for a week that I'd damaged my tiny fertilised egg. 🥚 @Minster2012 Hope to cleats up soon, mine improved after about 3 days of using the pessary this week. x

larrythelizard · 20/02/2022 13:53

I don't think that sounds excessive @Minster2012 and I'm sort of the mind of as long as you try not to go mad with eating and stay active then weight loss will be what it'll be

I think so many of things are just not tested on pregnant women rather than definitely damaging @feliznavidad2 but I wouldn't exactly volunteer to test drugs now so I get it.

Weather is almost worst here than it was on Friday, our garden is getting much more battered by wind, DH has been out a few times to check covers on things are tied down!

Vil10 · 20/02/2022 14:19

Scan was lovely this afternoon!! They said baby is looking perfect and they checked everything then said to cover our faces whilst they checked the legs! They even did a lasagne one for us without us even asking and we didn't need to pay for it! The second picture the baby was facing the camera😂 I feel so content and happy knowing baby is growing well in there! Only 3 weeks to wait until my 20 week scan!

@Vil10 lovely lasagne shot!! So happy you feel lovely & content about it, it's all coming together ❤️

@larrythelizard according to the pregnancy weight calculator @Juno231 added the other week (I think it was Juno) I'm 0.3kg under the lower end of the range for my height /BMI so that's great I'm happy with that, just need to keep going & be mindful (ignoring the half a calzone takeaway in the fridge) I swear I've just burnt off a load at soft play 😂. Did you say you haven't told DS? When you thinking?

Minster2012 · 20/02/2022 15:00

Oh and how are you @DKDK123? You are doing so well powering through the time & not bleeding 😊

larrythelizard · 20/02/2022 15:18

Lovely afternoon @Vil10 and lovely scan pics! Your 20 week scan will be here before you know it!

@Minster2012 don't know, after 20 weeks for sure, although we're away with family including some bigger kids in a few weeks so may need to start to talk to him before then?

OP posts:
becarefuloutthere · 20/02/2022 16:00

@Vil10 lovely scan pics 🥰 glad you're feeling good 😊

Juno231 · 20/02/2022 16:08

@Minster2012 wasn't me and don't remember seeing it but was going to say 6kg sounded like a nice amount!

@Vil10 aah i forgot you're team yellow and read through your post so quickly to check for a reveal 🤣. Lovely scan pics and I'm so jealous you got to see your baba ❤️

Went to yoga today and I'm knackered lol - it was a lot tougher than I thought as I just expected it to be yoga for lazy people lol. It was really good though, it focused on completelt different things from my normal yoga classes, eg we worked a lot on the pelvic floor but also on stretching the median nerve as carpal tunnel is common in pregnancy. The session started with everyone saying their names, how many weeks they were and something about what's happening right now so it started on a really note! One of the girls is 15 weeks like me so I'm hoping I'll see her next week and can strike up a convo. Another warrior lady in there is due on the 22nd like you @becarefuloutthere - she said she keeps waking up at night thinking this is it and getting excited only to then lie awake and be tired all day 😁
