@paintfairy booo for the migraine again! Have they been less frequent since you identified the caffeine (or was it caffeine free?) as a culprit?

@becarefuloutthere god your countdown is so darn close - are you all ready to go? How do you feel?

@Minster2012 your weekend sounds lovely despite the cold and frequent sex 🤣

@Kate105 erm I think name tag lady likes her job a bit too much

@vil10 yay for securing the house! When are you hoping you might be able to move in?

OH and I don't tend to do anything for valentine's but he's been more soppy since I got pregnant so booked us in to have dinner at the ivy last night which was wonderful 🥰

Went to my friend's house on Saturday to pick up a bunch of baby stuff she's kept for me. It's a random assortment of clothes, play mats, an activity station and a crazy £250 nuna rocker. Oh and a big bag of maternity clothes! I felt so lucky!

In other news I think we can finally ask builders for quotes as of tonight! Something tells me that with the price hikes we might need to hold off until the baby has been born but let's see what happens... I doubt it's realistic but it would be amazing if we could get the house ready for the baby's arrival...

Juno231 · 14/02/2022 16:15

Ooh and it's been confirmed my boobs are up two cup sizes now @vil10 - did you ever check in a proper bra if yours still fit?

As for prenatals I've stopped mine now as per the NHS guidelines to stop taking folic acid after 12 weeks. Been seeing lots about the link between third trimester folic acid supplements and the rise in asthma over the last few decades so just wanted to be on the safe side. Am still taking vit D, calcium and iodine though!

Kate105 · 14/02/2022 16:53

YES @Minster2012 I am so with you there! It's weird to say your child is your best mate! Get better friends! But also mine and TSD's would be a very toxic friendship, borderline abusive. He's all take take take 😂😂😂

Just an update on name tag lady. There was also a banner and obligatory group photo under said banner. NTL has 3 under 4. How the FUCK does she have the time or the energy?! TSD had a cracking time though so shouldn't complain, especially for £1 a session with a cuppa.

Final set of jabs for TSD done ✅ he's high as a kite on calpol and sleeping it off so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻but I think he'll survive. Glad we're done now until October though, not a fun way to spend an afternoon!

Minster2012 · 14/02/2022 19:11

That's what I think@Kate105 errr need a mate reassessment 😂 she does it with 3 under 4?? She's clearly also high on calpol & more class A drugs I suspect. Ahhhh £1 & a coffee I'd take a heart ❤️ name badge for that

@Juno231 yesss loving DH's softer side coming out with a meal at the ivy very fancy! And bigger boobs 🤗that might also be why 😂 also that's really great news on the house! Come on reno 🤞🏻and all the maternity goodies you are being spoilt!

@paintfairy don't write off a second child yet, the free vitamins I got were literally 2 weeks worth so only to try get you onto buying pregnacare and I think you need to mention the migraines to your midwife def

So I'm relegating myself to the spare room tonight so both DH & I can get some sleep. Happy Valentine's Day 😹but after needing a foof rest it's not a bad thing. Am also hopeful of a lie in as he's taking him to preschool in the morning 🤞🏻 then I've got to awful 1.45 hour drive each way to an antenatal endocrine appointment in Leeds. Must remember to wee in a pot in the morning as they want a sample

larrythelizard · 14/02/2022 19:25

Bad times on the migraine @paintfairy - make sure you're having plenty of fluids.

DH a bit soppier than usual here too @Juno231 - a really lovely message in a card (and a panic bought jumper which made me laugh). That sounds like an excellent haul of baby/maternity stuff!

I wonder what NTL did in a previous life before having hoards of small children @Kate105?!

Agree that your child should never be your best friend @Kate105 - mine was essentially a psychopath tonight, from tantrums to demanding cuddles in about 1/2 a second...I know he's tired so I gave in and no bath!

That is impressive shagging @Minster2012, gold star! I sort of miss long solo drives so I'm a bit jealous of that but I'm pretty sure it's just rose tinted spectacles kind of remembering about them!

Sounds tough @DKDK123 but I like that Emily's like 'hi mum, all fine in here'!

Not long until the next scan then @bez91, exciting.

I was expecting a consultant appt by now but no letter yet, in with the MW in a couple of weeks so will ask her then if it hasn't come through.

I feel crappy this evening after this morning's light headedness so cereal and ice lolly for dinner 👌🏻

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 14/02/2022 21:00

Spoil yo'self with your ice lolly & cereal dinner @larrythelizard if it's what you fancy 🤷‍♀️

Hope you get a good night's sleep @Minster2012 (me and OH quite often sleep in separate rooms, the sleep is SO much better)

Thai sounds fab @becarefuloutthere what is your favourite dish? Mine is either panang curry or pad thai

Sounds like an amazing haul @Juno231

Beautiful bump pic on IG @bez91 😍

Had a spot of luck today, rang to book an NHS physio appointment (for the ole dodgy pelvic floor) and there was a last min video call cancellation so I had a 45 min really helpful consultation with a physio student and physiotherapist - v reassuring and practical tips, they recommended downloading the Squeezy NHS app (which has a sort of reminder feature so I get notifications when I need to practice Grin) and have given me a few pelvic floor exercises to do each day. Saved me £80 on the private appointment too!

Minster2012 · 15/02/2022 07:21

Oh my god I slept 😜🤗🤩

Woooooooo & now have a squeezy app 😂@feliznavidad2

larrythelizard · 15/02/2022 08:03

Result @feliznavidad2! Also saw your JL haul on the other thread, nice! I got a couple of cot sheets as DS' are a bit gross, some towels and a set of white short babygrows as I don't have any newborn (well, 0-3) sized.

Whoop @Minster2012 hopefully that's what you need to get rid of the cold!

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 15/02/2022 08:06

Oh dear - I didn't mean to put it there! 😫 @larrythelizard

becarefuloutthere · 15/02/2022 09:39

@Minster2012 I know, one week today and it's due date 😱😳😬 loving your bonking weekend! Impressive 👏🏾 no wonder your foof is sore 😂 are you still feeling unwell today or did your big sleep help?
@paintfairy free vitamins for me too, twice over as I moved locations, therefore trusts. Got a new maternity pack thing so got some persil tablets too 😆 the ones I take still have folic acid in so I hope to god it's ok!! Hope the migraines gone now? Did they ever say what might be causing them?
@Juno231 so close right!! Yeah feel ready now, waiting on long charging cables today and then my hospital bag is ready to go! Practiced using the tens machine yesterday with Dh so feel better about those first few contractions now when they say don't come in yet or send me home, at least I'll have some form of pain relief with that.
Ooh dinner at the ivy, nice 👌🏾 and nice baby stuff haul, what a sweet friend you have! Hope the house stuff goes to plan, amazing you can get started now 😃
I'm so confused over folic acid, I was given vitamins with it in and never told of those asthma risks, I'm gonna ask my midwife tomorrow.
@feliznavidad2 ooh nice choices! Usually pad Thai too or green curry but I went with some random specials dish and couldn't eat it all so I had it for lunch yesterday instead, was delicious! Sizzling chicken with peppers, onions and carrots. 😋
Nice one with the physio! I never got one on the nhs and ended up seeing a chiropractor instead who managed to loosen me up. Think I'll download that app tho, thanks 😊 I'm glad they helped you! I can't look at anymore baby clothes, this girl has a room full of clothes until she's 12 months old 😂 🙈

Minster2012 · 15/02/2022 10:20

Bonking weekend @becarefuloutthere 🤪😜I feel a little more human but still blocked up
No doubt DS & DH will get it now

paintfairy · 15/02/2022 10:59

@Juno231 I thought it might be the decaf coffee, but now I'm not so sure? 🤷‍♀️ Free stuff sounds good! I literally know no one to give me anything. 🤣😫 I do wonder what the hell I'm going to wear going forwards too, never mind baby stuff.
@Kate105 how old is name tag lady? She clearly has more energy than me! £1 is a bargain!
@Minster2012 excellent on the sleep! I did last night too. No sleep is rubbish. I hope the appointment goes OK.
The midwife just said call if it happens again. I asked last week. Not sure what good that'll do but she said I can take paracetamol. I pointed out that's useless. She was young and ditzy though.
@feliznavidad2 maybe I need to look up that app! Oops about the wrong bus. 🤭
@becarefuloutthere no I'm not sure what causes them. No one has mentioned asthma risks to me either and I was told to keep taking them. So god knows. I thought you had written she's got clothes until she's 12 then! 🤣🤣🤣

Feel a bit better today. Slept better last night.

kaylsd · 15/02/2022 11:06

@paintfairy it’s a shame that everyone doesn’t have the same standard of practice across the UK! Like my trust I’ve got every single scan & blood test now already pre booked until the end of pregnancy but my friend who’s at a different trust just 25 min away is still waiting for her anatomy scan appointment and she’s 18 week 👀
@kate105 I hope little one isn’t too bad after his jabs 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻❤️
@minster2012 can’t beat giving your foof a break, I treated DH last night since the occasion was valentines and I feel sore this morning 👀 I think it might be more sensitive lately, was deffo worth it thou 😍🤣 hopefully your appointment goes well today for you at Leeds sweetheart :) if in doubt Tupperware is a lovely transportation of wee as we all know!
@larrythelizard hope you feel abit better soon, I’ve also got a thing for ice lolly’s at the moment espesh the fruit pastel ones 😋
@feliznavidad2 glad you found your appointment useful I may look into squeezy app if things get difficult for me as things progresses!
@juno231 sounds a lovely baby haul you had :)

Had a lovely meal yesterday but feel buggered today with tiredness but think it’s my night shifts caught up from me! Enjoyed dressing up but could not wait to come home get out of my heels & into comfies 🤣 took my first little “bump” saying it like that as the pic yesterday which more looks like I’ve had a large Sunday dinner with all the trimmings and pudding rather than any baby shape 🤣🤣🥺

Juno231 · 15/02/2022 11:40

@kaylsd aaah it's so cute! And you looked fabulous yesterday!

@paintfairy I know, the sheer amount of crap needed for us and the baby really adds up doesn't it?

I tallied up the baby clothes from the friend and it turns out there's zilch pretty much from 0-6 months so I had a little browse on FB marketplace and found a huge bundle for cheap and the lady keeps adding more to it for me! It's early to be shopping but gosh I can't resist a bargain...

Juno231 · 15/02/2022 11:40

@feliznavidad2 thank you for the JL tip - some of the deals are crazy good!

larrythelizard · 15/02/2022 11:53

I've put mine down to hormones @paintfairy but the problem is getting rid of them once I get them with no ibuprofen.

A bargain's a bargain right @Juno231 and as you know you're team pink you may as well! There were some gorgeous outfits on there but I am trying very hard not to buy clothes as we have many!

Sounds a lovely evening @kaylsd - I haven't got dressed up in ages, Saturday night was a themed thing in a marquee so was coats and hats!

I was reading up on the skull theory and think that this one looks the same as DS - either they have the same massive family head or it's another boy...either fine by me!

Ravenous today, messaging on here to try and stop myself heading to the kitchen to make lunch!

OP posts:
Vil10 · 15/02/2022 12:08

@paintfairy tried the skull theory and I got 1 boy and 1 girl😂😂 I have a scan on Sunday though so maybe I'll post a pic from that and see what I get then! Can't believe you weren't offered any free vitamins! Not sure what it's like for anyone else but I actually got a sheet that I can take into any health care centre near me and get free vitamins for the whole of my pregnancy! It should be the same everywhere in the U.K.! Deffo with you on the still not feeling like it's real thing!

@larrythelizard I bet it feels like a weight has been lifted after telling your friends!x

@bez91 definitely no ripping out going to be starting yet, I think it'll be a slow and steady process! How's your ribs now?c

@becarefuloutthere absolutely loveee Thai food!! Good luck with your sweep tomorrow! Ahhh Thankyou! You're right and I have started to feel positive about it being my time now!!

@DKDK123 Thankyou lovely!! Sorry you had a sickness bug, nothing worse! Oh you're present from DH is so so sweet bless him!! I would've cried too!

@kaylsd you're right!! I am being more positive now and I too think everything happens when it's supposed to!! Yeah I'm not sure on the nub theory either!! You looked lovely last night and have the cutest little bump!! I always said I'd want a boy first but now I'm actually pregnant I'd be happy with either! Also McDonald's definitely compensates!!x

@Minster2012 4 times?? Not surprised you're sore!! I'd be zonked after that, I'm so tired at the minute😂 urgh sorry you're still feeling rough!! A cold is deffo horrendous and everyday feels worse!! Hope you start to feel better soon🤞🏼

@Juno231 well usually they say 8-12 weeks for completion so I'm hoping it'll be may time, the latest June, but they are being really quick with things to be honest, the sold sign was up on the house by Saturday, when we sold ours in late august the sold sign didn't go up until December! 2 sizes?? Mine haven't changed at all!! Gutted, I was looking forward to some boob growth😂 I've also never heard of the folic acid and asthma thing, i have my 16 week appointment on Thursday so I might ask my midwife! Bargain getting all thst off your friend!! I'm also picking up a nuna tomorrow thst I found on Facebook marketplace, £80 brand new still in the box!! 🤞🏼 on getting the house completed for your arrival!!

@feliznavidad2 happy days!!

becarefuloutthere · 15/02/2022 12:51

@Minster2012 🤪 apt description right 😂
I'm glad you're a bit better anyway, hopefully they can swerve it!
@paintfairy haha I mean I'm obsessed with clothes but not that much 😆 I'm glad you're feeling better too hun
@kaylsd stunning figure, you look great! 🤩
@Juno231 never too early and who doesn't love a bargain! Go for it girl I say!!
@larrythelizard ah another boy would be great for ds too! Cute 🥰 how long until you can find out? Enjoy eating!!
@Vil10 thank you lovely! Hoping my cervix is ripe and ready to be swept 😆 good to hear you're feeling positive 😊

Juno231 · 15/02/2022 13:50

@becarefuloutthere @vil10 the asthma thing isn't official per the NHS but it does make you wonder why their guidelines specifically say to stop folic acid after 12 weeks? Then lots of midwives seem to encourage it beyond that point anyway - although mine was adamant I stop taking it so it's all confusing.

@vil10 ah that's so good - in my area you get no free vitamins! 8-12 weeks sounds like it will be more like 8 weeks as your side is done already anyway - fingers crossed it's really quick! Are you planning on redecorating once in or staying at your mum's whilst it's being painted?

@larrythelizard can't believe you're happy with the prospect of a massive head 🤣 unless you're having an ELCS? I've already forgotten.

14+5 and zilch bump so far - but at least now I have my first "bumpie" for the records

Minsters Side Car - A few more bumps have now turned into babies - Thread 6
larrythelizard · 15/02/2022 15:39

I vaguely remember a possible link between tongue tie and excess folic acid @Juno231 - lots of foods are now fortified with it when they didn't use to (this is a very unscientific half remembering rather than well thought out medical research!)

I didn't have anything with DS @Juno231 - just a bit thicker round the middle this time and no chance of wearing existing jeans or anything past about 4pm these days!

I don't plan on falling out @becarefuloutthere just some idle musing!! I also hope your cervix is ripe and ready!

I don't know what a nuna is @Vil10 but I feel compelled to google now!

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 15/02/2022 15:41

Well what a waste of time.

Turn up to Leeds took me 1 hour 35 to get here. To be told yeah it's a telephone appointment. I show them my letter CLEARLY stating it's not & giving floor & to bring a sample. "Oh yeah that def says in hospital. you aren't the first today to say that."

Great. Only my entire afternoon wasted
Percy pigs for the way back

Sorry will check in later

larrythelizard · 15/02/2022 15:55

Ffs @Minster2012 that is a joke. At least you have Percy Pigs!

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 15/02/2022 17:35

But no more fuel @larrythelizard 😩can't believe you miss driving round I hate it!

paintfairy · 15/02/2022 20:06

@Minster2012 omg. I would be fuming!
@kaylsd yes it really seems to vary! One got all my scans booked in too, up to 36 weeks. And my 20 was booked in at my 12. But some people seem to have no clue when their next one is? My local midwife appointments are all booked in one ahead too.
@Juno231 I dunno. I think I'm oblivious to half the things I'll need. 🤣 But do need clothes to leave the house. I'm wondering if I can wing it with maternity jeans and a couple of tops until summer and then floaty dresses? 🤷‍♀️ Assuming I ever find jeans that stay up. 🤣
@larrythelizard angle of forehead is apparently the key! There are other things but sometimes not that easy to see with the scan pics. And I just don't seem to be able to shift headaches once they come either.
@Vil10 no free anything around here!
@becarefuloutthere a ripe cervix. Not sure it's something that I ever thought would be wished for. 🤣

My back really hurts today! God. And do other people have hurty boobs? I thought mine would go, but no? If I lean on them I know about it. My app reckons they'll start getting bigger from now. I do hope not, I've already gone up 2 cup sizes! 🙈 Can't remember if I said the other day but DH has now told all his family that matter. And I've got to go to a family get together on Sunday off the back of it! Probably so they can all see how fat I am? Off to hunt the baggy clothes out! 🤣

bez91 · 15/02/2022 20:59

@Vil10 slow and steady process is good! Rib still hurting 😩 I hate taking pain killers so a constant hot water bottle on the go!

Fingers crossed for your sweep tomorrow @becarefuloutthere

You look amazing @kaylsd 🔥

@Minster2012 whatttt! Parking near LGI is enough to cause a meltdown anyway never mind a pointless appointment!

Hang on @paintfairy and @Juno231 what do you mean you've gone up 2 bra sizes 😂 my throbbed for weeks and my nipples tingle every day but still modest mosquito bites here 😢
