@Minster2012 agree there's no point driving miles for just a night or 2. We never do. And you are right- so many great places in Yorkshire! I like it. I hope you are feeling better?
@Vil10 Great news about the house! Finally! And do they not have piss pots at the hospital? They are on the counter at reception when I go, so I just grab a load. 🤣 When I went to my midwife appointment at the drs Friday there was also some on the table (wasn't the first time) in the waiting area. I took 1. But then she gave me 1 before leaving as well! Now I've got bloody loads. Yet in the beginning I was like you and struggling with where to get them.
@larrythelizard men are knobs. The end. I've also struggled with waking up every single night to wee. I usually can go back to sleep but the last few nights I've really struggled and just feel tired then in the day.
@DKDK123 @bez91 I did know you could get stands but had visions of water everywhere. I thought you just put baby baths in the bath? Or shower if you have no bath. 🤷‍♀️
@feliznavidad2 cupcakes are always a winner! I have told DH not to bother with flowers. I had some for my birthday the other week and it seems a waste of money to me (again). I said money is better spent on something I can eat. 🤣
@bez91 scan at 1.45pm. Broken ribs? Omg. I would hope not! Jeez.
@Kate105 its not you. 🤣 And you sound like you are doing much better with it lately.

So- the reasons I say I don't want a boy. I suppose one is I hate men. They are so fucking annoying and thick sometimes and make me very angry. This weekend has been a prime example and I literally might end up in prison for murder. I'm hoping being pregnant might be a defence? 🤔 I've never liked men much. Having said that neither am I a girly girl and social like that with loads of girl friends. I can't stand the bitching and drama. So maybe there's no win situation. 🤣 All my animals have mostly been boys to be honest and they are easier. Definitely.
My other reason is unfortunately due to my experience growing up. My younger brother. Obviously I grew up thinking it was normal as I knew no different. But how my mother didn't kill him (or him kill himself), I've no idea. Now I'm older I realise none of it was normal and most people don't go through that. However- its hard to shake off. Mum tells me nightmare boys run in the family and my cousin actually appears to have one too. The majority of boys probably do not fall into this bracket and it's no issue. But clearly I have a slight concern that it'll happen to me! I know easy and hard children of both sexes though and I know it's probably just luck. Nothing to do with girl/boy. DH is one of 4 boys, 2 being half brothers, (there was a half sister too) and he was very surprised when I went through my concerns as clearly he experienced none of that. In fact it was the girl that was the troubled one (she committed suicide as an adult). So maybe our boy would take after his family! 🤣

@2020mission I feel like everything is falling into place after so long of worrying and stressing!! Yesss I have faith you'll find somewhere, we just need to keep calm and patient, everything happens when it's meant to and all that!

@larrythelizard just hoping it stays good timing and we get in when we should! Urgh men are annoying!! But I'd have done exactly the same!! Are you still carrying on the silent treatment today?

@bez91 @feliznavidad2 Ermm it doesn't NEED anything doing to it, but it just needs a younger touch to it and you always want to put your own stamp on it too don't you, the couple are retired and their children have moved out so it's very much a blank canvas which is great, we have a list of things we want to do, a couple as soon as we get in before the baby and then the rest after, but it's completely fine as it is!

@paintfairy I feel like we've literally waited forever for the right one but I'm glad we did wait! They do but I completely forgot to pick one up at my appointment on Thursday! The midwife gave me one to bring to my 16 week appointment next week but I used thst for my consultant appointment and completely forgot to pick some more up!! At least you're stocked up now😂 I know the midwife can give me one at my appointment but what if I don't need a wee😂 I'm going to need to source one before Thursday!! Good luck with the scan today!! Can't wait to hear whether we'll be evening out or adding another girl!!

Thankyou so much everyone for the comments about the house! I had a little wobble on Friday night thinking to myself "I'm pregnant and now find the perfect house, is it too good to be true, is something going to go wrong" etc but I gave myself a nudge and I feel so so happy and excited about everything today!! Went out last night for a meal for my friends birthday then went to a bar after and saw lots of people I knew who all seemed genuinely happy for me and I felt all giddy telling them about it but then it did get a bit tedious repeating myself over and over😂 also, note to self, don't agree to going to a busy bar on a Saturday night whilst pregnant therefore 100% sober, the most awkward experience! Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday❤️

@paintfairy I kind of get that, my brother was the very definition of troublesome teen - drugs, arrests, being kicked out of school etc etc. He doesn't talk to me anymore (nothing I've done I promise!) For a bit when DS was about 8 weeks old he really looked like my brother and I was a bit worried but actually DS is a complete blend of DH (ie bit of a wuss) and me (chatty) and I will no doubt parent him VERY differently than my parents parented my brother - so what's come before won't necessarily get repeated.

Sounds a lovely weekend @Vil10. DH apologised yesterday but a bit dickish again today - suspect I might be being a teensy bit over sensitive... 😂

@larrythelizard my brother is actually OK now as an adult. And to be fair he wasn't that bad as a teen compared to some. But as a child he was an utter nightmare. Like really bad. Accident prone to the point we lived in the hospital, had CID round and SS threatened to take us off my mum. And it wasn't like he wasn't watched. He just defied all odds. 🤣

So I've put my scan pic on 2 different nub theory fb groups and I've had half boys half girls😂 I've always said I'd want a boy first and all my friends keep saying I'm a "boy mum", but we both really think it's a girl and I just feel so so excited of having a little mini me (probs look like her dad still as he has such strong features) since being pregnant I honestly wouldn't mind at all what we have, it's all just exciting!!

@Vil10 I can honestly say I can think of pros and cons of both. A boy would appreciate my pick up truck more!
Did you try the fb skull theory group? I put mine on. They did mostly guess girl to be fair.

It's funny when i first got pregnant @paintfairy I really hoped for a girl so I'd have one of each but now I have this lovely image of two little lads playing footie on the beach on holiday and then generally being teenage idiots together and so now I'm really hoping for a boy!

I told my two friends who've been going through the mill with infertility, one is also pregnant (im happier for her than for me!) and the other suspected a while ago so has had time to deal with it - I feel so much better now those two know and are OK!

@Vil10 not bad thanks. Went out for Thai food today for dhs bday and I'm just so happy she didn't come today 😂 see the midwife weds for first sweep! You looked so cute in your night out pic! It is hard going out to bars when pregnant and sober isn't it 😆
Oh and I felt like you last year when ivf worked first time and we secured the house but things do eventually work out and you've waited long enough. It's now your turn! ☺️

Yeah those ones @bez91 - just one with a recent MC I haven't yet told, she's further afield though so I can wait a bit in the hope she gets pregnant before I tell her. Definitely a weight off, one of the group of friends' mum's knows (friends with MIL) so it's only a matter of time before the news trickles out - I'm fine for it to trickle now the two I was worried about know!

@larrythelizard yes you are right in that respect. One of each is preferable for the parent only i guess. I know some sisters that are really good friends. Almost best friends. And I always wish I had that! Same with some brothers. Having said that i do know some brothers and sisters who are close, but mostly I suppose they aren't.
I'm glad you've told your friends. It is awkward. I still don't relay too much to my friend who is struggling.

Dh has now told all his family that matter. All feels so real now? We haven't told anyone about the gender scan though. I'm going to wait until the 20 week one to see if the nhs confirm! 🤣 I can't get my head around it because I still feel like it's a boy. 🤦‍♀️😆 Having said that i was watching the videos (much more interesting now it's bigger) again from the scan and I still can't believe it's happening at all!

@larrythelizard same it's my fav! I suggested we go there too 🤭 luckily Dh also likes Thai food 😅 Ah it's so sweet that you're thoughtful of your friends that struggled/struggling, it's such a sensitive subject but they will still be thrilled for you I'm sure! X

We slept! Only one wake up again last night and life is good again. Although the weather is dreadful 🙄 and we have playgroup today... there's already been a WhatsApp this morning from the lady who organises it wishing us a happy Valentine's Day and showing us all the heart shaped name stickers she's made for the kids. I'm sure a better person would just appreciate the effort but I'm just like WHY BOTHER 😂🙈 and this is why I'm not making mum friends and I don't teach primary...

Also is this a thing? Name labels for babies at playgroup? We get one every week and I just don't get it. The babies can't talk to each other??? TSD invariably loses his or it disintegrates within seconds because he's so dribbly 😂

@bez91 fractured ribs are definitely a thing you can get in pregnancy, DS fractured mine on one side and it was agony. They couldn't confirm it as a definite break as obviously they won't xray them while pregnant as theres nothing they can do about it anyways but they did say they were pretty sure it sounded like a fracture, it definitely wasn't fun!

@paintfairy once they're a bit older and like to splash I'd sit the baby bath in the bath/shower but while they're still tiny it will save your back heaps if you sit the baby bath either on a stand on table so you're not hunched over.

@larrythelizard I was the same before DS I thought I wanted either girls or one of each, but after having him I actually wanted another boy as I just had lovely images of them growing up together close brothers and I love being a boy mum, they are gross, overly energetic but so unbelievably loving 🥰 Don't get me wrong I'm not disappointed I'm having a girl this time, I'd take absolutely anything but I did envision another boy.
Must be such a weight off your shoulders telling your friends, glad they took it well and I'm sure they're thrilled for you.

@Kate105 never had baby name labels at baby groups, the woman sounds like she has far too much time on her hands 😂

Had a crappy few days, caught a sickness bug and after every time I was sick little missy must have loved the movement and thought it was a rollercoaster and would start jumping around inside and the movment of her would make me be sick again, it was not fun! 🙈

We don't usually do anything for valentines day and DH isn't the most romantic of guys at the best of times, but he must be getting in touch with his soppy side this pregnancy. He surprised me with a little music box that plays you are my sunshine which is the song we've always sung to each other in tough times and our first wedding dance was the song from Up I wanna grow old with you so the pic is the characters from up. The sentiment behind it actually threw me as I wasn't expecting it from him....cue hormonal tears 🥰

Turns out being upside down at the gym this morning didn't agree with me (and I wasn't even very upside down), it made me feel very light headed and dizzy which is still persisted, guess that's another thing I can't do now!

@paintfairy at my 12 week scan last week I was seen by the midwife afterwards who gave me mixed vitamin supplements and gave me 4 boxes for them which should cover me to end of my pregnancy 🙈 otherwise I was taking preg care ones from Amazon :)
@minster2012 I hope you feel better today and had a nice relaxing weekend under the circumstances! So glad that we are not in lockdown for this valentines 🙈 my cooking is rubbish so I think DH will always choose to eat out given the option

Happy valentines beautiful ladies! How amazing is it to think of all our journeys of what we’ve gone through to get here? Whether it be a long journey or short, just the moment to think about the little bumps to be or the cute little ones blessed in our lives 🥺 I may just be emotional from being overly tired as I’m absolutely shit of sleeping on night shifts I’ve functioned on like 12 hour sleep over 3 days, if that! DH surprised me with flowers and goodies and we don’t do valentines so I felt awful 🤣🤣🤣 so to compensate I brought him a McDonald’s breakfast this morning post nights.. makes us even right? Have a lovely day today for those with plans or those having quiet ones with dine in for 2! Just need to splash my face with water and pull myself round to make a effort to dress up more than leggings tonight for first time pre pregnancy 🥺🤣🤣🤣

I think the mums should have name badges surely?! & there are loads of ppl who LOVE doing all that. I'm not one of them. I'm prob also gonna be very offensive to some now but I also don't understand the mums who put or say "DD/DS Is my best friend" I just don't get it. Yes ok at toddlerhood DS will swear blind daddy is his best friend but for grown ups to say that it's just love surely & I find it really weird.

@Minster2012 yeah I'd have got used to the idea of a boy if that's what it was. I'm not fully ruling out the idea just in case the scan was wrong. I was the easy child with me and my brother. I think you always get one that is and I'm pretty sure it's just pot luck which one it is! But yeah if the first is difficult you'll maybe never have seen second. Having said that- for us it's not that likely anyway.
All that dtd is definitely a lot when you aren't used to it. 🤣 You'll have to have a rest this week!

I can't believe how many of you were given free vitamins by the midwife! None of that here. But it seems everyone carried on with taking everything so maybe I'll just do that.
Had a migraine since last night. My vision started going about 9pm. Today I've had a headache and felt sick on and off all day. 😖 Can't shift it.
