Yay @kaylsd lovely to be 'in the system' properly!

I never did @2020mission...wonder if I should have?!

Well done for telling your boss @paintfairy! And oooh Sunday will tell right?! No clue on dishwasher sorry, I don't touch ours (literally, apparently me stacking it wrong offends DH more than me leaving all the dishes next to it so I obv leave all the dishes next to it!)

OP posts:
2020mission · 10/02/2022 16:31

@larrythelizard depends on your situation. The RCOG states it's given if you have a very long labour (more than 24 hours) or have had a caesarean section, lose a lot of blood after you have had your baby or receive a blood transfusion. I had the blood loss and transfusion so that's why I was given them.

@paintfairy you must feel some relief now 😅 glad it's done!

Kate105 · 10/02/2022 16:51

Thanks @Juno231 this is basically my stress relief... using you lot like my diary or something 😂 woohoo for 14 weeks!

Yay for me time @DKDK123 you're too right! You're a teacher aren't you? We're too bad at powering through, it's not healthy.

Lol @Minster2012 I used to do that and I would never snore normally (I think!)

Glad it's all gone well for you @kaylsd 🥳

OH to add to what @2020mission said about the post section injections... there's a bit of your stomach that goes numb after! Inject there! This literally did not occur to me and it was only when I was talking to another CS mum the other day and she said about doing it that I realised. Mind blown. FML. 10 days of sore jabs and I didn't think to do any of them IN THE NUMB BIT. No wonder TSD is the way he is with my brains 😂🙈

Soooooo lads. The party arm is back. FML x2. Slept sideways last night across the next to me crib with my arm sprawled across TSD's arms to stop them flapping like the demented penguin he clearly identifies as. Turns out we broke the feed to sleep association and replaced it with arm pinning instead. So now we're full cold turkey in the cot, no adult company at all for any reason. You can imagine the carnage. Pray for meeeeeee. Currently sitting in TSD's room in the dark watching him flap and not nap. Tonight is going to be AWESOME

Kate105 · 10/02/2022 16:53

If this continues I'm getting a t shirt with our new family motto "flaps not naps" 😂🤔

Minster2012 · 10/02/2022 17:01

@Kate105 ahhhhh the nights spent laid or sat on the floor next to a cot, I remember that like a kick in the face fondly. I see your injections you & @2020mission & raise you ON THEM SINCE BFP the little ouchy bastards I am black and blue. I YEARN for a numb bit to stick with a pointy needle. 😜

larrythelizard · 10/02/2022 17:09

I'm guessing that's only active labour @2020mission because I was in latent labour for days!

Gaffa tape @Kate105?! Excellent family slogan though!

bez91 · 10/02/2022 19:19

@Minster2012 not a bad thing it can't start whilst you're so close to baby being here 😊

@Juno231 yayyyy 14 weeks 🥳

@paintfairy urgggh that wait is bloody annoying! I'm always in the hospital for around 2.5 hours for my scans 🤦🏼‍♀️ never in and out. Barg on the Snuzpod!

@DKDK123 definitely operation stay out of hospital as long as possible. Sensible to take the day off, you take it easy!
I got into a sticky situation at work today on a visit, never happened before when not pregnant but I went to a house to do an inspection and the lady was in a wheelchair and I went in to find she was struggling to transfer to her wheelchair and in a right tangle. I've no idea how to move and handle someone correctly but had to help her and basically hold her weight to help her as she'd have fallen on the floor otherwise 🤦🏼‍♀️ think I'll be asking to stop visits mid March.

@Vil10 don't apologise I'm not surprised, super busy time and super stressful! I bet your mum is looking after you. Good news everything is looking good following your appointment 👍🏼

@kaylsd glad all looking good on the scan 😊 lovely news baby is cooking well. Hope the family dramas subside, these things always come up when you really could do without them 🤦🏼‍♀️

Minster2012 · 10/02/2022 19:41

@kaylsd yesssss that's such excellent news 🙌🏻🥳🥳🥳🥰so pleased for you

@bez91 yeah I guess so, just itching to start SOMETHING (or at least have done decisions made whilst I can still vaguely think rationally) 🤪

DKDK123 · 10/02/2022 20:59

@Vil10 glad you're all settled into your mums now, enjoy her fussing over you while you can. Quietly keeping my fingers crossed for the house bid 🤞

@kaylsd glad the scan went well 😁 I know what you mean about the NHS ones seeming so impersonal compared to the private ones. I found they both took the same amount of time and both looked for the same things so figured why do the NHS ones have to feel so clinical and cold in comparison 🤷‍♀️

@2020mission I hated those jags, not looking forward to having to do them again 🙈 I dunno how you cope with having to do them every day @Minster2012 you must be completely black and blue by now, they left me with horrible bruising and I was only on them 5 weeks before birth because I was on bed rest in hospital plus 6 weeks afterwards (of which I think I only actually did about 3 weeks of then decided I was mobile enough that I was less of a risk of clotting, and couldnt take any more bruising so stopped and lied to the health visitor 🙈😂). I can't imagine having to do them from your bfp right through 😲

@Kate105 when you think you've nailed one sleep problem another always crops up or teeth decide to come in. The first few years are just one big shitshow of sleep deprivation that you somehow learn to function in. But you could invent a whole new range of slogan t shirts for each stage 😂

@bez91 would be good if they let you stop visits next month especially if you don't know what you're going into like the situation you found yourself in today. Fingers crossed they let you. My boss (head of my department) wants me to work from home come 28 weeks, given how violent our pupils can be and also because of the covid factor and our kids can't distance. But unfortunately the powers that be higher up are saying no, covid risks are less now and if a kid gets violent I've just to leave the room (Easier said than done when they're blocking the doorway or can turn in a second!). I'm trying not to worry about it too much as I've a feeling my consultant will put a stop to any working and have me on bed rest within the next month anyways, just hoping I'm allowed to rest at home and not in the hospital 🤞

Just incase anyone buys the shnuggle bath and stand second hand, I've just saw a post saying to contact them on their website for a free safety strap that theyll send out to you as there was a safety issue with the bath/stand.

larrythelizard · 11/02/2022 08:44

Definitely worth a day off rather than hospital @DKDK123. Day by day you're getting closer.

Jeez @bez91 that's a bit scary, sounds like not doing home visits would be a good idea.

Pleased you've got some decent meds @Vil10 and a quiet 🤞🏼 for the house.

You're a hero with all those jabs @Minster2012

It's cold here this morning and the gym involved lots of running outside. I thought my nipples were going to fall off they were so sore and cold...! Didn't really know the lady I was partnered with either so couldn't whinge about it!

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 11/02/2022 09:01

@larrythelizard I'd whinge anyway!! Think you are doing great for keeping it up (especially at stupid o clock in the morning in the cold!)

@DKDK123 I love the idea that we & @Kate105 could create a range of baby crap related slogan t shirts for the various shitty fun stages

It's mega frosty again here!

Dog PIAP done, what a start for a Friday!

But it's my surprise day/weekend away tomorrow 🥳🥳🥳🥳can't bloody wait! I've even defluffed especially

Getting a few proper kick like movements as well lately so feeling a bit better (although yeah the injections are really hurting & causing hard lumps in areas of much use)

kaylsd · 11/02/2022 09:33

@paintfairy could you be overloading it by putting too much or stacking them in a certain way? I’m a tinker for not utilising space in ours apparently in accordance to DH 👀 good luck with your midwife appointment today, how time flies!
@larrythelizard very official, I’ll feel abit more at ease when I get the screening results back!
@kate105 you could set up a whole range of Merch for the lack of sleep club I’m sure of it! Hopefully last night wasn’t too horrendous for you!
@dkdk123 thank you :)! I’m glad I’m not the only one who was feeling the frosty vibes 🤣
@vil10 I’m so glad you’ve managed to get sorted with the consultant and they’ve gave you some pain relief if you need it, go careful with codiene as if your anything like me made me struggle to go to toilet n that was without being pregnant 🙈 good luck with the housing situation I’m hoping the right one will come through for you at the right time!
@minster2012 have the best time this weekend will be looking forward to hearing all about it ❤️ so glad to hear your feeling your little one kicking now and again 😘

On nights for next 3 and I’ve already been up as normal as my body does not like sleeping in the day 😩 also my strange dreams don’t help last nights was opening a all you can eat kfc what also offered blood tests on nhs to help with the pressures whilst you wait for your chicken and fries 🤣🤣🤣🤣 they had a singing slogan and everything! Have the best weekend ladies hopefully I can average more than 4 hour sleep a day for next 3 days 😩

paintfairy · 11/02/2022 09:42

@kaylsd the first time I thought it maybe wasn't full enough. Its only one of the slim ones and although you can get 10 sets of cutlery in it apparently, when trying to fit pans or whatever in its useless. So you end up with wasted space. So I complained to DH maybe it wasn't full enough. But this time it did it I would say it was full but not over full? Same amount as we have been pretty much putting in all the time. So I've no idea. I then wondered if something had fallen through and the spinny thing couldn't spin but then it still surely shouldn't overheat? Shouldn't it just turn itself down? Honestly no idea. 🤣 I bought mum a £30 second hand one years ago when I lived there and it lasted forever, you just said go and then that was that.

larrythelizard · 11/02/2022 09:45

Ah yeah of course it is @Minster2012 I'm excited to know where you end up too! And I'm pleased you're starting to feel regular kicks 😍

Mine came back within the week @kaylsd which I was pleasantly surprised at. If asleep you can make up singing slogans then awake you must also be pretty impressive!

Has it got an error code and have you googled it @paintfairy?

OP posts:
paintfairy · 11/02/2022 09:49

@larrythelizard yeah f7 and in the instruction book it just says overheating and call your service engineer. 🤣 Whoever that is.
Oh and the nipples! I've found since being pregnant mine are agony if I get cold. I mean actual pain. Never felt anything like it!

Juno231 · 11/02/2022 10:19

@paintfairy if you Google the make and error code they often have helpful things online? We fixed our dishwasher a couple of times like that where the manual would just say to get an engineer out. Including changing a sensor that only cost £20 but that Bosch engineers wanted to charge us £120 just for the call out!

@Minster2012 oooh I can't wait to hear what the surprise is!

@Vil10 don't be silly, you've had a crazy couple of weeks! No wonder you've not been on here as much.

Is anyone doing anything for valentine's btw?

paintfairy · 11/02/2022 10:25

@Juno231 I did Google not nothing useful came up. Other than generic things about it could be the thermostat? And yeah you might as well buy a new dishwasher than pay someone to come out!

We are going for a meal tomorrow, although nowhere fancy. On actual valentines day we are just doing the dine in for 2 deal thing. We don't really over do it. I've got him a card. 🤣

larrythelizard · 11/02/2022 12:53

Not really arsed about valentines @Juno231 - we're out Saturday night for someone's birthday anyway and then will exchange cards/maybe some cake on actual V day. I have, however, accidentally bought two cards for DH - doh!

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 11/02/2022 14:36

Sorry been quiet, DS isn't v well, constant(ish) temperature for the last 48 hours. 😫 Luckily it's not Covid, but hard work when they're poorly.

Will catch up at the weekend x

kaylsd · 11/02/2022 15:02

@larrythelizard feel like I should start dream journals because they are so bizarre 🤣
@juno231 I'm on nights finishing valentines morning, DH is a last minute Larry so anything's possible but we've got a meal booked at miller and Carter for the evening :)

@paintfairy can't go wrong with the turn on and go ones! Mine is like that 👌🏻

paintfairy · 11/02/2022 16:08

@kaylsd I'm not sure why you need 1000 options! But many seem like that now.

Midwife appointment today was anticlimactic. Very short. They didn't do the heartbeat thing so it's a good job I had a scan the other day and know its still there! Apparently they don't bother until 25 weeks. They did take my blood though to see if the baby has a negative blood group. Everything is coming at once and then it'll be a lull until 20 weeks!

Kate105 · 11/02/2022 16:42

@larrythelizard I think you need to send one of your cards to DH anonymously and then go apeshit on him for having a secret admirer 😂 but then I am a bad person and would find that hilarious, you may be nicer than me...

First night of flaps not naps could have been much worse! Only a couple of wake ups and only mild flapping... Also big brownie points to H who took over at 3am and sent me to the spare bed for (relatively) undisturbed sleep. I'll take that in lieu of a valentines present! We usually do cards and that's it. It's H's birthday a couple of days after so we usually do something for that instead.

Also Granny managed to put TSD down for a nap at her house today! Woohoo! Although I was sitting outside the bedroom door the whole time hissing "do not pick him up mother he is fine just leave him" 😂😂😂😂😂

paintfairy · 11/02/2022 18:00

@Kate105 winning! 🥳

I forgot to mention- what is everyone else doing vitamin wise? There seems to be mixed schools of thought. I'm still on pregnacare max. I asked the midwife today and she told me to carry on taking it, and that they used to say stop folic acid at 12 weeks but now you should keep taking it. Where as other things say don't? 🤷‍♀️🧐 So I've no idea what to do! I feel I do need some things though (not just vit D).

Minster2012 · 11/02/2022 18:10

Turn it off and on again @paintfairy then is there a reset button??? All I can add 😜

@larrythelizard well we are staying in Yorkshire as we don't go far for just a night but usually that's still somewhere about 45 mins away

@feliznavidad2 sending toddler solidarity hugs

@kaylsd oooo a miller & carter sounds lovely! And you really should write these down.

@paintfairy yeah round here they only as standard do the heartbeat at 25 weeks it was cos I asked & the midwife was leaving she didn't kind doing it 😜

@Kate105 I love your posts so much cos it really reminds me of myself so much. "Don't you dare pick him up he's fine" was a favourite phrase of mine to train both DH (who is a super softy) and mother & MIL (who both think they know best). In the toddler years now I find myself saying "and thanks dad for just going against me when I've said he can't have/do XYZ" & DS smirks me 🤨but seriously that's great progress keep going! Loving your DH helping too

I guess this is kinda for valentines though he said it's just more "just because we need a break" we usually do nothing. Last year was lockdown & snowy & we got a takeaway 3 course menu from the pub that's the most we've really ever done til now & last year got ABSOLUTELY smashed (whoops) & had great sex. Def at least one of those things won't be happening this year!

Minster2012 · 11/02/2022 18:12

Oh and @paintfairy I still take the appropriate proceive trimester tablets, vitamin D, vitamin C & krill oil. They seem happy with all that!
