Hmmmmm well looking forwards to these clots then 😂note to self buy the black ones again 🤪

@DKDK123 def think your gran will meet your baby, you know that one that's really comfy in there & causing no bleeding?! That one 💓

Minster2012 · 09/02/2022 07:33

Watching the first episode of "this is going to hurt" on bbc. Don't watch that if you are 25 weeks 🙈

becarefuloutthere · 09/02/2022 07:55

@larrythelizard @DKDK123 thanks you two, will do! @DKDK123 I'm glad your gran is doing ok ♥️ and glad you're being monitored closely.
@Minster2012 I was going to watch that too if I was feeling brave enough! 😳🙈

larrythelizard · 09/02/2022 08:02

We're all different @Minster2012 I wasn't that clotty! I think it's your womb lining shedding or something like that.

Another vote for both @DKDK123's Gran and Emily defying expectations!

Awake from 3-5 last night, wtf is that all about?!

bez91 · 09/02/2022 08:07

@Vil10 hope the move went ok ❤️

@becarefuloutthere yes my acupuncture lady did that moxi on me whilst I was having acupuncture, she said it was for fertility. I had it on my leg and tummy. She was a bit crackers, set the smoke alarms off so the whole building had to evacuate and burnt me in the melee 😂 it's all a bit strange I found. Hopefully your little lady will do a roly poly soon, how long have you got left?

@Minster2012 @larrythelizard hmm we could maybe bribe if we buy her a new princess dress for her dressing up box 😆 will consult DH. @Minster2012 have you got your planning through yet? Ooh I'm wfh today, definitely going to watch that 🙈

@Juno231 @paintfairy it's definitely easier for men to tell work. DH has a male boss and when he told him he got a handshake and a "whayyyyy" as if to say "congrats you're an elite shagger" 🙄 make today the day ladies 🤗 and you too @larrythelizard

@whatwonder argggh that's tough, any change of catching up on sleep in the day?

@DKDK123 glad your gran is doing ok and hopefully baby stays where it is better for you for now 🤞🏼 wow that sounds scary about the clot last time. Yes don't do it again!

Only 26 weeks and actually can't wait to finish work, it's so stressful at the moment with workload so been working some evenings and my cover hasn't been advertised yet. The leave I've got to take is making me more stressed as I'll be behind more when I come back off leave. Counting down until the end of April!

Minster2012 · 09/02/2022 08:23

"I wasn't that clotty" gotta be quite of the day @larrythelizard and damn it on the waking/insomnia I think I'm waking up a fair bit but atm able to go back to sleep

@bez91 no planning yet, earliest it could be is 14th Feb but don't think it's going to be. Got a structural engineer coming this morning then dentist then MIL coming over 🙈. End of April isn't that far off. Keep plodding on!! And the programme is actually pretty funny, especially as I know lots of stories my registrar SIL has told me 🙊

Kate105 · 09/02/2022 08:32

I'm with @larrythelizard but maybe depends on who does your CS- my midwife was like, "we'll give you a good clear out with the suction while we're in there" 😂🙈 I wasn't going to argue!

WELL we slept 7-6 last night with only 3 wake ups 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 come onnnnnn TSD 🥳 he tried to wake up at 5:30 but I didn't even open my eyes, just reached across and stuffed a dummy in him. Poor lad, that'll be a great conversation when we have to have the 'consent' chat 😂😂😂

On the other hand, I put on 3 different jumpers yesterday because TSD has gone back to his old party trick of fingers down the throat and VOMMMMMM all down Mammy 🙈

becarefuloutthere · 09/02/2022 08:53

@bez91 oh jeez 🙈 yeah hopefully she will! Just under two weeks now 😬 . Eek, I hope work settles somehow, work stresses are the worse so I feel for you!
@Kate105 yay for a better nights sleep!! Though boo on the making himself vom tactic 🙈
@Minster2012 busy day for you then. I have no plans today, except parcels turning up and hopefully one is the bedside table for the nursery so I can potter in there for a bit today.

whatwonder · 09/02/2022 09:07

@bez91 that story of your acupuncturist made me chuckle, seems like something out of a sitcom! I'm all for the weird woo woo stuff, and the moxi thing sounds more relaxing than an ECV @becarefuloutthere (unless it's followed by a building evacuation and burn salve... :/)

@Minster2012 I was going to watch that show last night but forgot it was on, hmm might reassess now. I remember parts of the book being pretty harrowing, maybe not the best watch when you're pregnant.

@DKDK123 gran is definitely going to meet Emily! they're two strong ladies :)

@Kate105 wheyyyy for better sleep! seems like the training is paying off!

@larrythelizard @Juno231 good luck with telling your bosses, and agree with the others, it's much easier for men to do! my boss (male) was a bit of a prick about it, asked me if it was "expected" and then mentioned how much work it will create for him (eye roll x a thousand). I've only now just finished all the paperwork for it, took me 7 weeks! (although this is because we're going to do some shared parental leave which made it a lot more complex)

good to get a warning about the PP blood loss. Question about these disposable pants though - do you have to change them as often you would as a pad? If so, how many pairs are you going through in a day?

hopefully will get a chance to relax today...on my 9.5 hour flight to Canada :) embracing it though as it's my last long haul flight without children, so practically a spa holiday right??

feliznavidad2 · 09/02/2022 09:15

Not that clotty 🙌🏻 😂

Embarrassing but you lot know everything else. Think I may have a bit of a wee leakage problem. Only when I'm desperate and a little bit just seems to come out, started this week. 😬 I was initially a bit worried incase it was amniotic fluid or something, but it smells like wee 🙈 🙈 Off I go to covertly buy some Tena lady. Blame DS for destroying my pelvic floor.

Minster2012 · 09/02/2022 09:15

Wait what @whatwonder you are flying to Canada?? How long for. Wow!! When I used the disposable pants for my MC& MMC I only used one per day & then big pads at night, so I'm thinking 2 per day max? That's why I liked them, didn't really see the blood (on black ones) & they didn't feel horrendous either. Cringe that your boss asked if expected!!! As if

@becarefuloutthere is that you all ready then after the table arrives?? Is it sweep time starting tomorrow?

@paintfairy by the way what did DH say about the gender scan?

I mean if he's automatically sucking on the thing that's shoved in his mouth @Kate105 then I wouldn't worry about a consent chat there might be other things to discuss! But the sleep brilliant! What sleep training method are you using? If only there was a book for the vomming 😜

whatwonder · 09/02/2022 09:32

@Minster2012 yes going to visit my parents! there for a week and a half, stoked to have some time away from work. Plan to spend the entire trip eating :)

@feliznavidad2 stress incontinence during pregnancy is pretty common, especially if you've already had a child. Is there a pelvic floor PT you can see? Might be worth getting checked out so they can evaluate your pelvic floor and give you some exercises to do? If not, go on youtube and search antenatal pelvic floor + core engagement (or search coreandfloorrestore on instagram, she has a lot of good free resources)

feliznavidad2 · 09/02/2022 10:21

Thanks @whatwonder - just rang midwife who agreed this is what it sounds like. She said she'll refer me for NHS physio but said the waiting list is v long, going to see if I can find a local private one...

larrythelizard · 09/02/2022 10:34

If you're not waiting for NHS, look for a specialist in womens health @feliznavidad2 - I saw one after DS who fully inspected me and helped me rebuild. She was a very impressive lady!

Whoop Canada, how exciting @whatwonder - presumably just poutine and maple syrup (I love a cliche...!)

@bez91 I read a book once on toxic stress (tells you about previous less chilled me) and if you can try and separate out what will actually happen if you don't do x vs what you fear will happen if can help to manage stress?

I reckon a dressing up box is an excellent prospect @bez91!

Busy busy busy @Minster2012 - you are a whirlwind!

Dreamy day @becarefuloutthere - the last couple of weeks before I had DS were lovely like that, all gentle and pottery.

@Kate105 you are smashing it! Just wait until he can put his dummy back in by himself! DS used to have about 20 in his cot (sadly he's still addicted at 27 months but only for sleep).

OP posts:
Juno231 · 09/02/2022 11:31

@feliznavidad2 bless you wee leakage can't be fun! I second a women's health physio - I'm already thinking I might see one after the baby to make sure everything gets back into good shape.

@whatwonder he said what?? What an arse. Yay for Canada though - whereabouts are you going? My OH used to be stationed in Alberta a lot. Oh and I'm visiting Vancouver in April!

@larrythelizard not that clotty hey 😜 I'm glad your headaches seem to be better now.

So I told my boss just now! I burst into tears 🤣. He was amazing though, he was really happy for me and supper supportive. Apparently his wife is about to start a new job and they don't know she's due in May so I think he's extra sympathetic atm ha. He seemed very grateful I've told him now so he has time to sort out cover as he kept telling me that legally I didn't have to tell him for ages yet!

Oh and I can't recall who asked if we'll be doing shared parental leave? I think so - current idea is 9/3 but we'll see what OH actually agrees to. I might slap on a month of annual leave at the end of mine but honestly haven't thought about it too much... OH is taking a month for when the baby arrives as well ☺️

2020mission · 09/02/2022 11:41

That was me that asked @Juno231 what a relief it must be to have told them 🙌 You can relax a bit now! It might be nice that you and your boss have something in common now with both of you expecting this year too.

I don't think I'd ever want my husband to share the leave partly because of breastfeeding but also I just love having a good long break away from work as I've never had a break longer than 2 weeks! I can see why it's a good idea for some couples though especially if anyone's OH has a lower salary as it means less of an income hit to the household. My husband works freelance right now so it's been good as he's been here for longer than 2 weeks since he can choose when to work.

@Minster2012 I watched This Is Going To Hurt last night too... it was pretty good but yeah maybe less so for anyone still pregnant 😅 I read the book years ago so most of the TV show won't be a surprise.

becarefuloutthere · 09/02/2022 12:32

@whatwonder oh jeez I hope not!! 🤪
Ooh Canada eh 😏 how long you off for?
@Minster2012 I just need to put away more clothes now I have hangers, arrange the room a bit better as the rocking chair can't actually rock where I've put it lol and I still need to pack last minute things for my hospital bag. Toothbrush, charger, food etc so pretty much! No, that all starts next week, hence this week of doing stuff to keep busy.
@larrythelizard yeah I'm embracing it. Never had time off just to potter before, only really get this at Christmas and I'm generally doing stuff then anyway. Hope you're all good today?!
@Juno231 ah well done and bless you for crying, stress can really wreak havoc on emotions, and pregnancy hormones of course! So pleased he was good about it. Lovely that OH will take a month off, mines taking 3 weeks and I hope he really does as he has a bad habit of still working even on leave!
@2020mission and @Minster2012 I'm watching that show now, I must be mad 🤪 but coping ok so far...what an opening scene tho with that hand just hanging out 😱

Minster2012 · 09/02/2022 13:10

I definitely think your dad haas a new princess dress for her at his right @bez91?

@whatwonder ooo that's exciting, my SIL & bro & nephew are also flying to Canada today to emigrate! She's Canadian & Ive learnt lots of interesting stuff like make syrup production is kind of like a cartel?!

@feliznavidad2 no advice here but maybe it was my fault for starting the tena lady pants convo 🤪

Oooooo just read about your boss @Juno231 that's so good, boom!! And also your OH taking a month off is great 😊lucky thing

Btw ladies is the list of pelvic abilities the same in a c section?? Like @Juno231 has said about Kegel exercises?? I haven't done any pelvic floor exercises or anything 😬😬😬

I've already watched the first two @2020mission
Totally didn't realise there's a book! I like it actually. I would def appreciate more help after the birth than 2 weeks cos of walking the dogs, house jobs & school runs. For DS he was born on a Friday, DH went back to work on the Monday but that was cos DS was so chilled he just slept, & I hadn't given birth so I was still fine to do washing, ironing etc. will be totally different this time I'm sure but DH actually TAKING time off will be the issue, I'm very sure he'll go in a fair bit as it's the lead into our manic season & we are already busy 🙄. I can't complain too much though as I can basically take whatever time off I want so swings & roundabouts and all

@becarefuloutthere the hand oh god yes!! Ah I see, final week of keeping busy then it hots up!

larrythelizard · 09/02/2022 13:22

Oh I LOVED Vancouver when I went @Juno231 going back in the summer is on my list!

Yes you should @Minster2012 it's as much about the pressure of the baby on your nether regions as much as anything - as a friendly reminder it's bum hole, vagina, wee hole, like doing up a zip (learned that in a pelvic floor post partum course)

Have you packed a super long charging wire @becarefuloutthere? Plug is never near the bed!

Feeling ok today, felt good yesterday, hope I'm back on the up. Have definitely identified that nice and spicy nik naks give me killer heartburn so they're on the banned list.

Had my 121 with my boss and chickened out of telling him...it's sounding like we're going to have a team planning session/overnight early March so will tell him ahead of that (probably!)

OP posts:
Juno231 · 09/02/2022 13:35

@Minster2012 yes as it's the weight of the baby pressing down in the third trimester as well. The physio would also help you sort your core back out and make sure you don't damage it (eg sit ups make diastasis recti worse if you're trying to deal with it alone at home)

@2020mission ah well I keep thinking if I do 9 months plus one month annual leave then that would be fine breastfeeding wise - especially as work then has a breastfeeding room and I'd only be in twice a week. The main thing for me is making sure OH knows how to independently take care of our child. So many of my friends have husbands that would have no clue what their kids favourite food is, when the next doc appointment is or what size clothes they wear. And honestly I think that happens quite naturally if the mum is always considered the primary caregiver.

Juno231 · 09/02/2022 13:38

@larrythelizard ooh really?? What did you like? I have zero expectations. We're sort of doing a road trip from Vancouver to Portland (with Seattle in the middle) followed by relaxation in Bend, Oregon at OH's auntie's fancy house. Plenty of hikes I imagine so let's hope my pregnancy continues to be this easy!

I don't blame you for chickening out, today was my third day of trying to muster up the courage!

larrythelizard · 09/02/2022 13:57

That's one of the reasons I think DH and DS are so close @Juno231 - they had a couple of months just hanging out the two of them. It's lovely to watch now.

We were only in Vancouver for a couple of days on the way to Whistler but was a really cool laid back place to wander round. We went to a big wobbly bridge which was quite good fun, some big trees! (Will check what it's called, it began with a C I'm sure...!)

OP posts:
whatwonder · 09/02/2022 14:18

I’m going to Vancouver! That’s where I’m from originally, parents still live there so will be nice to spend some time with them and go for some nice walks in the woods and by the sea! 😍

And yes we take maple syrup verrrry seriously (we’ve got underground secret reserves). And @larrythelizard think you’re talking about Capilano Suspension Bridge?

Juno231 · 09/02/2022 14:22

@larrythelizard ah that's what I'm hoping for but honestly obv understand that for most people it's based primarily on income. Annoyingly OH has caught up with my salary since he left the army so we don't have think about that part at least.

@whatwonder ah amazing! You're making me excited to go 😁

paintfairy · 09/02/2022 14:24

@bez91 omg the smoke. 🤣 Hilarious. And yeah men are funny aren't they? Just happy they are all getting sex. 🤣 Where as I find it awkward announcing I am having sex. Having said that- we didn't. 😆
@Minster2012 saw the beginning of it but it seemed so silly we turned it off. Can't be doing with daft TV shows. And he was ok about the scan but decided it was ridiculous we'd know what it was but his parents didn't even know about it. Erm, who's fault is that?
@Kate105 excellent on the sleep!
@whatwonder what an arse your boss is!

Aarrrghhh half a catch up. Got to go. I'll finish later.....
